I get enjoying cosplaying, I used to do it, but the most I ever spent was around $120 in ~2009 money. Even that felt like a bit much for the level of enjoyment. I couldn't imagine spending several grand on cosplaying unless I had literal millions of dollars.

okay, had a funny scenario in my head. years later his daughter brings home her new boyfriend, goes to her room to do whatever. As a friend of an actual fursuit maker, most of the times the way you clean it is just like anything else, toss it in the washer. Gotta let it air dry so the heat of the dryer doesn’t fuck up the fur, then brush it out

They hang it up on a rack or line and hit it with a series of dry cleaning sprays, brushing in between spray coats to maintain the fur coat on the outside, and when the inside is done (usually just more spraying), it's dried with a fan, the dry cleaning itself is usually done using petrol spirits and chlorine. If there's a stain, it's carefully washed with something more aggressive like Laundry Targo under cold water and quickly blot dry. It's a tedious, long process to maintain just 1 suit.

@@somechinesedude5466 To handle the cleaning? No, you could pay friends who are also into fursuits to do it, and a few small mom n pop dry cleaners will do it for a premium, but most will just refuse to service it due to the effort involved.
Market price for having a suit made? Depends on the quality of the craftsman, cheapest I've seen is $1k for a novice who'll probably ask you to buy material for them and ask a lot of questions, $1.5-2.5k for the average Etsy creator, easily $4k+ for an experienced craftswoman like MoreFurLess who can do it with just a reference sheet, and pro studios easily breach the $10k mark. New 3D printing and scanning tech has cut the overall cost by half, especially when it comes to the head shape and tail mechanics, but it's still expensive.

I actually lowered my blood pressure by replacing salt in my home with Kirsche-brand Nail Filings. My friends don't get why I laugh when they come over to eat.
Married man of 17 years here. I will advocate for the separate bedrooms. I sleep much better because me and the wife have just completely different time schedule and sleep patterns. Early on in our marriage we slept together I slept poorly. She gets up about 2 or 3 times a night. She doesn't like to cuddle because I generate too much heat. Apparently we both snore it certain points and wake the other one up and she wakes me up when she gets out of the bed to use the bathroom I wake her up when I leave in the morning. See you go to bed at 10:30 I go to bed at 7:30. I get up at 3:00 a.m. she gets up at a quarter till 6:00. It just works out better when everyone it's not sleep deprived everything else we can do together and it's great but yeah when everyone is not tired everyone's not bitching
