I hope I'm misinterpreting this comment, but this seems like transphobia. Trans people are people and should be treated as you would treat any other person. Sometimes it is useful to have a word for non-trans people and that is all cis is, nothing nefarious at all.

No one who uses the word cis uses it in good faith. It’s treated like a slur for good reason it’s almost always used like one.
@@Draco19977 We must be frequenting different communities because I can't recall a single time where I've seen it used as a slur (although I've seen it used when talking about how most people struggle to understand trans people and some transpeople feeling more comfortable being around other transpeople). If there are people (like me) who don't know that some people consider it a slur I feel like it is fair to assume good faith when seeing it. Being open to it being intended as a neutral description feels very reasonable here.
