I feel cursed with knowledge of nails and haircare that I'll never use lol. Instead I get a half second of actually scrutinizing a manicure if it's shown to me. remember: Women don't appreciate being told what you really think of their nails.

I can understand using regular nail polish, but going any further than that (i.e. gel nails, etc.), merely because it's "trendy" or to save a little more time every day, is.........well, let's say only a woman could find the "logic" in that ^^

As someone that works outside during summers I get a spectacular tan, granted its a "farmers" tan aka insanly obvious t-shirt lines. On the plus side it last year round, I rarely need sunscreen. My sister can barely look at the sun without sunscreen xD

I work in a clinical lab and the biotin supplements people take have been a huge problem on our end. Streptavidin-biotin conjugation is used in a lot of analytical methods and we really have no idea what effect these huge doses some people take have on them. There are ongoing projects to make these analytes less sensitive to the circulatory biotin but this shit is going to take years and huge investments to fix. And most people that do take them do it for better hair and nails.

Tanning is DNA damage to the skin. Yes, it significantly increases the risk of multiple diseases, including cancer.
I know someone who wears acrylics on the regular because she can't help chewing her nails and every time she does she gets throat infections so she sees acrylics as a solution.
No amount of evidence is going to dissuade her from this course of action.

It's concentrated UV light, wtf did they expect? Anyhow, I really want to try Halo Taco polishes. They are just normal air dry polishes, but if you do them correctly they are supposed to last a week for most people. $12 is just a bit too pricy for me right now, though.

Maybe this is my primitive man brain speaking but: What's the point of it all? My first thought was "expensive and impractical". Now, I get that beauty lies in the eyes of the beeholder but I don't hold bees. Is it the self care aspect? Taking care of yourself, beautifying yourself to make the brain produce da happy juice? Does that justify a -50% efficiency debuff on your hands?

Oh, it's pretty simple honestly. Like, makeup mimicks estrus, high heels arch the back and round out the butt, and fingernails are a status thing. It says, 'Hey, look at how beautiful my nails are AND CONSEQUENTLY how little I have to work.' Olde royalty used to manicure their nails for the same reason. Another thing worth noting is why women's pants have teeny tiny pockets and why they don't carry wallets in them. It's because it alters the shape of their hips, making them look much less alluring.
