Will it do rated? Let's find out! - Авто та транспорт
Great video! I love the "real world" Dyno tests and will be doing more of these in the future myself and showing the difference between the AD-1 and resistive loads vs. AMM-1 and reactive loads. The music test with speakers is my favorite as it shows the exact wattage your speakers are seeing.
Dick riculass filmed it bro
@@greash6573 he's Rick Dickless's brother btw
Thank you for not acting like a clown, like most other channels, I like straight to the point no bs, you got a sub
Thanks for making this video! You should Definitely do more amm-1 amp tests. If u could get a hold of that boss amp again u were telling me about and video the results I'm sure people would love to c it.
I know I wish I had time to have video taped that one. I will definitely try to do more AMM-1 videos.
I don't understand at all why these numbers are coming up. I have the 4k planet audio anarchy amp and it pushes at least 1600 out all day and it hits hard as hell. I'm so confused when people say the only do 360 watts
Thank You For Sharing!
So you’re telling me my 2600 watt planet audio amp only puts out like 300 watts
Pretty much. For the same price you can get a skar 1200 watt that'll actually do 1200.
Dam love this video. Thank you.
so what amp do you suggest that actually put out good volume.
Thanks for the test. Keep up the great work. As the saying goes...... You get what you pay for.
Thanks for this test--this is exactly what I was looking for after considering this amp on Amazon. They're probably rating these POS amps based on a 24 volt load. There's just no other way the math works, even if the amps operated at 100% efficiency, which obviously is impossible.
This is about right. I owned a 2500.1D for a few years there for a 15" kicker cvx. I thought it was 'alright' until I plugged a voltmeter up to it. After the math, it averaged around 500w rms at 2 ohms. Rated at 1875 at 2ohms. Not even close. NOW! For 100$, when I moved it to my 2nd work car, it was perfect for 2 12" sonys.
Seems like rockville amps, as generic sounding as they are, are great cheap amps if you look at the CEA ratings.
Thank for the info! Just saved me 130 bux
I have the planet audio 3000 1.D mono amp. Measured 2750 max watts at 2 ohm. Pushing 2 12inch 3000 watts Skar subs. I was shocked. I only tried since it was being used and I couldn't find a good up at 5500 watts for less then 700 bucks. This amp pushes those subs I can't even turn up to max with out hurting my ears. I'm keeping it. Wired paralleled. Thanks
LMAO!.... 60a of fusing, rated 2100RMS, yet can't break 500. WHY don't they just advertise the damn thing as what it is, a 400W mono!
Yeah 400 watts for $120 is beyond Korean prices. That was then now they're $150 so that's sundown or Xfire prices!
so if I got this to go with 2" planet audio dvcs how many watts would each be getting
Hooked the 1500 watt anarchy to the planet audio 1500 watt 10 it slaps could be louder but it’s awesome for the price got a vid of it hooked up post more in a different box ASAP
I bought this amp for $100 and it sounds good to me I'm satisfied with it for only being 500W it bangs I've split two speaker boxes so far..
I'd like to see you test this on my amps.
Test the Massive Audio amps please.
Thanks for doing all these amp Dynos bro!..especially on these cheap under powered.."but way over rated amps"...I was thinking about buying this model amp, but the 5000 watt one , and thanks to your tests I won't even come close to ever buying any of this cheap planet audio garbage!..I've see ur dyno tests on other budget friendly amps that did perform very well on there suggested rms ratings, so I'm not knocking on cheap amps, I'm knocking on these planet audio anarchy lying, over rated phony bullshit amps!...testing and seeing is believing my friend!..thanks for all your dyno tests keep the videos comming homie!
shit this amp pushing the shit out of my Sundown Audio SA 15's wired to 1 ohm! I know it's doing more than 472 watts!
Keith Butler
Totally agree, this amp should be able to 500 watts certified with ease.
Here is Steve mead testing an amp that uses the same circuit board, the Planet Audio should be capable of similar results.
m.ua-cam.com/video/TeCjYczcCbg/v-deo.html
Bob Brians, Steve Meade is the guy tht designed tht TESTER tht this guy is using the SMD (Steve Meade Designs)
I have 3 of his testers different one's. LOL. Rock on buddy
Kenny Kimbler
Having a scalpel does not make you a doctor.
Test that amp using the same parameters as mead or bigD to get real comparable results.
Banging a sub with an old cd and half dead car battery then claiming "LOL this sucks!" is straight up amature.
@@Bobbrians That doesn't make any sense. Having the same circuit board doesn't make something the same product or perform the same just like, as you said, having a scalpel doesn't make you a doctor.
I used to have a couple planet audio tt2250s they were about 500 each on the net, they pushed hard. back in like 2004
what about the planet audio tq3000?
Dyno at 2:45.
biscuitninja Thank you.
I must’ve gotten lucky with mine I had one of these playing on 2 Rockford 15s and I’d say they where pretty loud but if I had to say around how much watts I think it is probaby around 800w
What a beast..
Heck 500watts for $100 bucks is still a good deal. I gave $800 for my JL HD1200 and I'm sure it does 1200watts or slightly better.
Thats cause you are an idiot lol you could get a 7k amp for $800
That was huge power. No Way .! lol. Just saw this add from a local audio selling Shop and said "Planet Audio 2600.2 for 89.00$" I just laughed and so I thought I'd come look around for a UA-cam video. this one is even better. hehehe. :)
What gauge wire
I have the same amp unfortunately and I was a bit skeptical at first before I bought it, but I was like oh well, what the hell. A supposedly 3,000 watt monoblock amp that someone was selling for $100...why not? Anyway. I do and I don't regret buying it. I regret buying it for the obvious reason and I don't regret buying it because I learned from making a mistake. I absolutely love Planet Audio from the early 2000s. Matter than fact, I have a Z-12 Zetar series that I've owned since I was 21 and I'm now 33. Anyway. The older Planet Audio products were alot better back in the day compared to what they turned out to be now. I blame it all on the law suit they went through back in 07' or so. Now that they are with boss and SSL, I hate what they have become and I hate boss and SSL with a passion. The only series that are worth anything from Planet Audio is any of the Big Bang amps or subs.
I know this is a old video but for one he didn't explain the voltage Because Steve Meade always says it takes power to make power now on a dynamic test it would do better not a certificated test
They are good amps for the money, just read forums, everyone loves them.
lol yeah, a lot of people love boss amps too. they are every day folks who don't have much experience with audio. that's why they love it.
It works better then my Treo Audio ssx400.1 ,
Maybe it got struck by lighting one time? and they said hey 3k watts here ya go
Got this amp for Christmas and has been in the box waiting for its chance, it's disappointing seeing this video, I hasn't expecting the numbers in the manual or box but was hoping for more than that.
I was expecting more as well.
Do you happen to know the voltage input at that time?
I didn't. Car was running at the time though, so voltage drop should not have been very significant. Regardless, even with a solid 14.4, there's no way it would have produced rated. Unfortunately.
I bought the 1,500 watt amp packaged with MTX 12's in a box with install kit for $199, I knew that rating was obviously way higher than it would actually put out but for the money it hits pretty hard. I only run it at half power because I don't want stupidly loud overpowering bass, I'm past that point of my life.
they r made by BOSS
+Chris Bradsher shut up
+Chris Bradsher I have a r1100m and at 1 ohm with protect off it does 350 rms
Mike Fu Say what?
Boss sucks I admit but if you cut protect off and give it 18 volts it does great Haha
Dude is blasted lol
Your video is from 2014...... Can you please do an actual modern day legit comparison with their same new version? Because its crushing 2 Sundown 10"s in a Gately box & i'm damned impressed and have to know thx! Then def update this vid if they got it right??? its only 120k mostly old views but as i was researching this is still apparently relevant somehow???
UPDATE TEST NEW ONE & POST RESULTS PLZ??? thx!!!
That's gotta be a record for lowest wattage at 1 ohm. Completely useless lol
thanks bro i was about to get one and i said let me look on UA-cam first
Shit planet audio used to be one of the best to.
Used to hell I've never heard of planet audio being really good or great, they were always ok and decent for what they are
There amps used to be made by Zed audio in the US and they were very good. Not a whole lot of people know that iTaLk_TeCh.
Alpine type-S 😍
luis I prefer JBL Club
The Planet Audio 3000d is fused for 60 amp current draw so maximum power consumption would be about 864 watts (60a x14.4v) out of those 864 watts only 475 watts are being turned into musical power, that leaves an efficiency of 55%.
A class D amplifier operating with only 55% efficiency is incredibly bad for any class d amp, so bad it makes me question the test parameters. Cheap amp or not, this thing should be able to break 500 watts rms..
idgaf still buying it ,hope by summer to have this pushing 3 dvc planet audio 10s .I got two with the anarchy 1000 watt amp now , its straight.
Planet Audio's Big Bang line do considerable more power. If you look at the BB 1200.4 it looks Just like an Arc Audio XDI804. Same input and output setup and same board. Didn't check the components but I am sure the Planet Audio Big Bang amps use lower quality components.
made By BOSS
+Chris Bradsher Though correct doesn't mean they couldn't offer a line that is decent.. Soundstream is owned by power acoustic but last I checked those XXX woofers are beasts
why didn't you show what you had gains & bass boost etc set to? these can factor in quite a bit as you know and make it clip. Also why not do a real test with a clamp meter eh? I have on the 5000.1d and it's putting out as prescribed in its documentation @ 1 ohm. So then I dropped it to .5 ohms... 0 issues and 0 clipping.
A clamp meter is nowhere near an accurate test. The AD-1 and the AMM-1 have built in O-scopes that will show you when it's clipping so you can set the gains. This is a legit test
ok that makes sense. I didn't factor in the clipping part.
Clipping usually is from the music.... & every mofo on earfth be clipping son..... ain't nobody not clipping dammit -that's what we don't this shit fo..... them #clippinz
have you ever tested a bb3000 planet audio
Someone looks a lil bit toasty in the vid :P
I'm about as clean as they come bud. Don't smoke, don't drink.
+The Amp Lab I know I have seen. You stomp us a few time in dbl comps
I have a hifi power amp Kenwood Basic M2 that can put out real world 240wrms@8ohm minimum and about 475wrms@4ohm minimum. Its sad that most audio companies hivi, car, and pro don't put actual power ratings on there products. Say someone is to buy an amp saying 1,000wrms@4ohm X 1 thinking they'll get that power and buy an 1,000wrms 4ohm sub and under drive the sub and overwork the amplifier then wonder why the electrical system starts failing. Its sad AF
Can u do a test load on the lanzar opti 2000d
If I come across one. Most of the tests I do are simply what I happen to come across. I don't usually seek out a certain amp.
optis are true power
Someone call the BBB
I've never seen anyone use an amp dyno with the sub connected.....
Thats simply due to a lack of knowledge on your part. Two completely different ways to measure. This is REAL WORLD WAY!
aww man i really thought it would make a million wats
Planet Audio PL3000.1D Class D Car Amplifier - 3000 Watts, 1 Ohm
Lol I've own several of this exact same amp, they don't put out hella power but you can crank it to clipping and go on a road trip. It never gets hot running 1ohm all day every day. I have one right now running 3 4ohm dvc 12s wired to 0.67 ohms and it still doesn't get hot. Barely gets worm and I've ran it for over 2 hour's at a time. This is not a bad amp at all.
Running at 20% power I have no doubts.
I have the 2500 watt anarchy on a 2600 watt power acoustic 15" and it sucks...
that is wrong I had one of those before and they blowed 2 12 in Boss Audio Phantom and it wasn't turn but 3/4 of the way up
Boss Audio?? No way brah.... Aren't those like super exclusive? You can only get them at high class audio places like Walmart. Nothing could possibly blow anything made by Boss. Next you're going to tell me you blew some duals or pyramids to right? 🤣🤣🤣 Not possible and it's definitely not possible that you had them wired improperly.
these planet audio are a far cry of were they were when zed audio made them.
I agree
+Goshindo Tanaka Yeah unfortunately almost all amps are ... Even RF are nothing as they were
If his "Real World" woofers are in a sealed enclosure then the box rise in impedance could be as high as 10-20ohms!
You HAVE to use a Resistive load to test an amp, even though in the real world you ARE gonna see serious variances, that's what separates the men from the boys - knowing how to get the most from your system - this from the 1st guy to get a DB DRag world record with Kicker L7s. Busted 151 @ 43Hz with a single ZR600 and an old tired single Group31 wet cell battery.
+Phil B You are one of the old school guys eh? ... Im guessing that was what... Maybe back in 1995 or so?
Thought smd ment something else guess not
Can I send you my mb quart amp
+dan shark (shark55) You should reply to where they have already posted text.. That way it will notify them when you post.. I doubt they read through the posts on these older videos
Thats not sad thats great it dont cost shit
So i blew my 1000 watt sub with this amp at 1 ohm explain that to me
ua-cam.com/video/CRBuQW5qrAQ/v-deo.html
Uhhhhhhh. Distortion Junior.
Power compression will hit long before peak power....
First off, what do u expect for the price. I think they use the math on max voltage battery power times the fuse rating times probably 80% efficient to come up with that number idk. But if you have a low budget or just don't want to dump a lot of $$$ it's not bad for it price
I JUST ORDERED THIS AMP I HAVE TO PICK IT UP SO YOU'RE SAYING THE AMP IS GARBAGE?
Didn't say it was garbage. Just saying it doesn't do anywhere near what they claim it should do.
yea i just installed it im not feeling the juice on that amp.
That's too bad. I'm hoping now that there are tools like this out there to test these things, that companies will start to be honest with their ratings. It's false advertising is what it is.
3000W is the ILS factor.... (If Lightning Strikes)... it can hit it lol.
I gaurantee only 1 fuse is being used
They put those big numbers because they know the suckers will see a 3000watt number for dirt cheap and buy it.
MazdaBass971 like a chevy1500 marked for the same price as a Toyota but wait it's now $10k off..... cause they can't fuggin sell em
that is ridiculous! I thought at least 6-700 smh
I know. I expected a lot more too. Pretty sad.
The 4000 Watts planet audio is pushing the shit out of a 12w6 JL
While I appreciate you including that disclaimer, it's tough to ever compare numbers with a reactive load and fluctuating power supply vs a lab power supply and resistive load. And since the manufacturer rates using lab PS and resistive loads, that's kinda what we have to use so we can compare apples to apples. If you used your method on many amplifiers I'm betting they'd fall short of their rated power. That said, we all know damn well this wouldn't even do half rated. lol Good work.
You are absolutely incorrect sir. We use the AMM1 daily, and on quality amps it is always within 200 watts of rated power.
keep show casing videos cause.some amp names and wattage are very misleading
None of the new Planet Audio amps are anywhere as good as the old PX-AXIS series amps like the PX4000D - PX1000D and PX3200D
Maybe they meant 300 watts 😂😂
just buy a C.A.B. amp 1600 watt for $200 hard to pass up
3k and get 300 something Watts.. priceless
Damn, that's weak af.
And I just bought the PA Anarchy 4000.1 for $100 :(
That's disgusting. Thanks for the video now I know to stay away from this brand
Gahhh dammit I just bought the same amp just the 2600 watt version after seeing this I regret it
Return it?
rtkota5point9 bought it online. Amazon.
cdeatenmonkey Say you never got it like it was lost in the mail. Might work...
Wire it down, or better yet wire it down and bridge it. You would be amazed what amps can do. Iv personally been to a car audio shop that had 10+ 15's wired down and connected to a single 1k amp
You cannot bridge a mono amp...
LOL @ 328 watts
Audio companies that do this are a disgrace and should be ran out.
Wow.. only under 500 watt. Good thing I didnt buy one. Lucky I pick up a DD M2b instead of this crap. Lol.. money well spent on the DD M2b. Lol
My anarchy 1600.4 did exactly when it sayed in the box before i installed my amp i took it for a dyno test and the resulst were exactly as was on thr paper.. people not every amp is the same.. these things are mass produced one out of 3 is going to be fcked.. get ur amp tested before talking.....
Where's the proof? Because it didn't.
And if 1 in 3 amps are bad from ANY company. They shouldn't be in business. lol
Kygre R Your nose is growing.
+Kygre R Nice bluff lol.. The fusing on the amp wont support rated power ;)
+The Amp Lab Im taking it this was tested with subs on the circuit ...typically my imp rise on all the boxes I have tested was between 2 to 4x the impedance .. So if wired 1 ohm, 2 to 4 ohm... Now grated this amp would never do 3k... but if your imp rise was 4 ohms.. This amp could for sure do 1kw
lol
total trash have one of this moving a solobarick l7, the sub is asking me if he a joke to me
Looks like Planet Audio does not know the difference between MAX and RMS.
MAX or Peak always equals 2x the RMS. So if they list a max number of 3k you should EXPECT to see a RMS of 1.5k NOT 2.1K. That right there just goes to show they don't even know what the fuck they are doing.
To top it off the manual states 2 x 30amp fuses..so if that is true then the amplifier is really only capable of 600watts before those fuses pop wide OPEN!
+jeanious2009 This isn't quite correct my friend.... First off I don't believe there is any actual rule on max vs rms ratio...... That's just a typical rule of thumb from experience type deal... As far as the fuse popping this is incorrect as well.. Generally fuses will handle 125 percent load for long periods of time.. There is a PDF on littlefuse's website how long you can expect their fuses to last at different loads vs rated... But if you take 60 amps x14 volts x 1.25 (125 percent).. it is over 1000rms... Good example is the newer audiopipe 1500's.. They bench at over 1500 rms certified at 1 percent.. yet they come with 100 amp fuse .. I haven't seen one blown under proper use yet.
They are called datasheets and they handle more than 200x their rated power on certain series of fuses for a certain amount of time (milliseconds).
jeanious2009 That is only partially correct... Granted certain series handle more than others...... They all handle a large amount more for the milliseconds you stated... Plus there is a line between the lets say 200 x(though I don't believe it is this high) and the 1x... It doesn't instantly go to milliseconds.. Depending on the fuse it may look something like this... 125 percent .. 4 hours... 150 percent 1... 200 percent 10 mins.. 250 percent 30 seconds .. 300 percent 3 . Or something to that effect... Not only this.. But when they sell an amp.. The min impedance rating is typically min. wired... Not resistive .. So the amp may actually do rated power on less fusing .. Since the box imp. rise keeps the load from ever reaching rms power, the fuses are not in danger of blowing. Yet when they put their rms power rating, they rate it at the resistive 1 ohm load... So they sell you something that isn't meant to run at the ohm the power is rated at... Even companies such as RF do this
There are over a thousand different fuses....so of course they are not all going to be the same, but to say that they can handle 125x over a certain amount of time is the same as me saying the same fuse you are talking about can handle 200x in a certain amount of time (millisecond, or even micro).
But am glad we are both on the same page regarding these over hyped rating that teens these days believe.
jeanious2009 Over a 1000 different brands... Prove it. You keep saying times vs percent.. which do you mean. Do you mean 125 x or 125 percent... 125 times is 12,500 percent over rated
That's a terrible amp but some good weed!!
I think the extra 0 is a typo, that is a 300 watt amp lol. Garbage , I would not even buy that for a $100.
shieeeeit im bout to return this piece of shit . . .
450 watts for little over 100 bucks hell yea sign me up!!!
made by BOSS
+Chris Bradsher Is that your only input... Im going to start posting "owned by marketing propaganda" after your replies lol
That's horrible, lol.
amp = poo poo
Your thing is probably just a piece of shit. Lol mine does send 2100
Looks like hot buttered garbage to me.
Garbage, best bang for the buck Is kicker ZX , CX ,series and I always stayed away from boss , hifonics , planet audio and many many more
fake test
Planet Audio amps are complete garbage! They're not much better than a Boss or Dual amplifier. Don't waste your money.
It's only $100 a Amp so go pick on someone else .
