      BigDWiz
      I have been wanting to see what the BRZ or any newer hifonics amp could do power wise.
      I have owned a few and while they are less expensive than other brands, I don't think they underrated. They make the claimed power or close to it but they are very power hungry.
      So I have learned that hifonics will do close to rated power but it's not a SQ amp or any efficient one. I think that with all the power upgrades it will cost to get the claimed power out of less expensive amps batteries, awg cable, after market alt, etc that you could buy a more expensive amp that's more efficient with better SQ and SPL.
      Great video big D, I'm sure this video will get viewed by a lot of people. 👍😎

Makes me want to upgrade although I’ll never need to 😂 I’ve never even been able to put this amp into protection mode. It barely even gets warm after pushing it to the absolute max 😂

    I just want to say thank you for doing an amp dyno on this amp. I have this exact same amp in my little 2000 Nissan Altima pushing a Skar Audio EVL-10 dual 4 ohm sub in a Skar Audio enclosure made for a 12 inch sub. But I needed the air space so I put a new face on it to mount my 10" sub. I think it works great. I only use a 100 amp fuse and run a 5.0 Farad Stinger cap in the back with the amp and sub. It does what I need it to do. With the bass knob, I can turn down the bass when I want to (English) music and turn it up when I listen to Spanish music. Thanks for the knowledge you provide to us beginners.

    I know this has nothing to do with power ratings but I run hifonics amps on both of my sxs. They are extremely durable for offroading as they've been rained on, under water, washed with the water hose, pressure washed and once they dry, they still work. They're cheap priced and do great for my system. I can't see spending the big bucks for a high dollar amp that may get ruined. I'm definitely a hifonics fan.

    • @fishrrelaxing9361
      @fishrrelaxing9361 2 роки тому

      Not louder.. cleaner.. the higher the voltage the cleaner you can get the signal which does technically result in louder rona point cause you can run a little more power before distortion.. but honestly 2-4v is minor improvement.. maybe 3-4% overall where as the 1.5 to 2v was like a 50% improvement.. above 2v there just isn’t much to gain which is why we started to see those few Sony or alpines that went to 5v but few years later everything fell back to 4v as the standard

    not to bad considering the price nice vid big d. honestly and I know u guys are gonna think I'm crazy if I had a nice budget to get amp but didn't wanna spend a lot I would get a hifonics. but the crazy thing is even though it got close according to the droppin hertz videos the crecendo 3500 didn't do rated either by about 145 watts I believe ? now I kownu guys probably think that's petty but really it's not becuase when u factor a price tag of 700-800 bucks for a new one I would expect it to do rated and than some especially when u got amps that can and cost less in the same power range. I love seeing these videos becuase it at least gives u an idea of what type of power your getting or not getting again good job big d.

  • @stacy532
    @stacy532 6 років тому +9

    ouch the smoke . thanks for the test .I would assume the music track would easily let this amp do rated power at all ohm levels? it killed the 1ohm rating dynamically with the music track . its funny on the efficiency because many of the hifonics haters on the smd forum claim you might get 2k watts from them at 1ohm but they take in over 4k of current to do so. they have always claimed the hifonics amps are the least efficient amp on the market. this shows differently. I was wondering if you could go back and check that massive baby amp you had the nano amp that did rated power at one test but not very close on the last test. I wonder if that music track would help that amp do rated power on the dyno vs just the test tones? also those magical boss 4k amps might benefit from those music tracks....lol

Not what you want in realworld applications, since it would cause the amp to overheat, shutdown, clip, etc. But an Orion HCCA amp. Ground Zero should be on par with the well respected American brands though.
      I'm pretty sure they won't lie about ratings on their amps, as they do cost quite a bit.
      Same can probably be said about brands like B2, DynaBel and Alphard Audio, as most of the companies that make high-power amps get their parts from the same manufacturer (in many cases, the amplifier boards are made by FS/Zenon) - That's probably why you see many companies sell amps that look pretty similar to eachother. Sundown Audio and DC Audio being a couple of examples

      Justin Murphy the hifonics x2600 is the exact same amp as this and its $159 on ebay brand new! All day long. Hifonics does this with many of there amps. The do it so often i cant mention all of them. I like the hifonics brutus brz 2400's they have the exact same board as the soundqubed 2200. That board is all so in the brx2400 bre2500 be2500 all brutus amps. I don't recommend any zeus amp's just brutus or colossus. But for the $ if you want these results get the hifonics x2600. Do some research and Google both boards and see for yourself, this amp is a waste when you can get the x2600. Always check out the guts before you buy. Nope, but as demoed a short while ago, that cert label isn't exactly the end all and be all of must haves.

      For the price, not too bad of an amp. But not very trustworthy with their power ratings. And not really impressed with no power rating in the manual. Hifonics has really slipped from the quality standpoint.

    Great video BigDWiz , I always wanted to know how the newer Hifonics amps performed.

    Back in 1986 I had a Hifonics Odin 150 watt amp on some Savard Hi-q subs and was awesome. Have it to my little brother and he tortured it for a few years till someone broke in his car and stole his system. Point being, Hifonics used to be an excellent company that made too of the line amplifiers that were grossly underrated and had excellent sound quality. Some criminal is probably still bumpin his subs with my old outdated amplifier today. I think I gave around 500 bucks for that puppy way back then.
