One is called Wild Oats Bakery and cooks with oats and dates too! I rarely go as it’s a 30 min drive which is probably a blessing in disguise lol. If it were closer I’d go weekly hahaha.
This thought occurs to me all the time. I really wouldn’t mind paying extra, obviously it’s going to cost more. Out of frustration I’ll be thinking perhaps I’ll have to be the one to open such bakery!
Recently my doc informed me that my cholesterol is too high, I was gutted, I love to bake! After searching substitutes for butter etc., I discovered your channel. You make me soooo happy! I look forward to trying your recipes. ❤ 🇨🇦
This was the perfection. The dough was fluffy but didn’t have an overpowering yeasty flavor, the filling was perfectly balanced, and plus, it was so easy to make. My moms favorite dessert is cinnamon rolls, and she loveeeees dates. It’s the first time that she goes for seconds in a healthy recipe, and she’s a harsh food critic! She stated that this was more akin to a classic Arabic date cake, but yet still retains its classic indulgent cinnamon roll flavor. Next time, I’ll add cardamom instead of cinnamon and see how it turns out. Also, everyone in the house loved it. My weightlifting brother liked it, my picky little sister actually ate it (that’s a win in my books), and my diabetic step dad was overjoyed. Thank youuuu 🙏!
The study revealed cinnamon can help decrease stomach acid and pepsin (a digestive enzyme) secretion from the stomach walls after eating, which reduces CO2 gas, raises pH, lowers metabolic heat and cools your stomach down. All this helps maintain the integrity of the stomach wall and could promote overall health.👍
This is good to know, because I LOVE cinnamon. I use it even in savory recipes lol. My husband thinks I’m obsessed and I might be, but it’s so yummy to me.
Oh man, that’s about backwards about warming the stomach I think. Here’s what I’ve learned: we need stomach acid of approx pH 2-3 range (I think that’s correct. Watch dr Eric berg’s UA-cam videos on HCL and Betaine HCL.). Water is usually neutral at 7 and 8-14 is alkaline (opposite of acid). While we want blood to be alkaline, the stomach needs to be acidic bec the stomach acid does a few things: (1) breaks down food bolus/pieces into smaller molecules so it can start down thru the digestion process, and (2) also kills pathogens we swallow that could be in food, and also (3) minerals need to be in an acidic environment in order to get absorbed, and the kicker that got my attention-(4) the esophageal valve is pH sensitive (a low/acidic pH triggers that valve to close; without the acidic trigger, the valve stays open or partially open) and doesn’t close completely if the stomach isn’t acidic enough, so that’s when the acid that is in the stomach (even tho it’s not *enough* acid to start digesting the size of that particular meal completely) gets regurgitated into the esophagus and one experiences “heart burn” or “acid reflux”. Taking an anti acid at that point (we Americans have a brand called Tums) temporarily soothes the regurgitation of acid up into the esophagus but makes the problem overall worse bec now there’s even *less* acidic stomach contents, so valve is even *further* from being able to close, nutrients less likely to be broken down and absorbed, and pathogens even less likely to be able to be killed! But you can research all that on UA-cam and internet. I do believe it’s correct that cinnamon helps with blood sugar control, but not thru a pH/acidic/“cooling-warming” mechanism like DailyDoseOfMedicine said. I eat cinnamon in my oatmeal as a way to get cinnamon into my diet and I look forward to trying these rolls as well. Best of luck to all.

THSNK YOU SOOOOOOOO MUCH I WAS ABOUT TO START SEARCHING FOR A GOOD RECIPE BEEN CRAVING CINNAMON ROLLS FOR A WHILE NOW BUT YOU JUST POPPED UP AND SAVED THE DAY ❤❤❤
Hello! Thank you very much for this awesome recipe! I loved them very much! Only thing I changed is I mix dates and some dry blueberries and soaked them in liquor. It was already very late when I started to make a dough, then I waited the dough to rice, formed the buns and left them overnight in the fridge. In the morning let them to come to the room temperature and baked them shorter then regular cinnamon-buns. They came out nice and soft. Before to serve I topped them each with a half of spoon of melted white chocolate and some walnuts! Absolutely delicious! Next recipe to try is polenta! Thank you very much!
Impressive!! The title made me curious, but I thought they would still be loaded with white flour and sugar, but no! It really is a healthier, lower-calorie version. I like the idea of the date paste interior. I will have to try this.
Just made them, they taste amazing! Instead of 1/3 cup milk for the glaze, I did 1/6 cup milk 1/6 cup melted cream cheese and it tasted so good! If you like your desserts on the sweeter side I would recommend adding a little more syrup to the dough.
Thanks for the recipe! I have never thought about the use date as a natural sweetener! It’s a really awesome idea to make my favorite yummy healthy cinnamon roll. Thank you again!

LOL, eating too much "healthy" cinnamons is still bad for your health, but if you wanna gain weight or muscle in a healthy style I think it's a better to be from healthy stuff. So go on eat some more .
i just baked this today so the house smells with cinnamon before new years eve. its so delicious i added coconut sugar instead of dates for filling and it turns out so good. the buns are super soft i like it. thank you for this delicious recipe my new year will be healthy
Hi, baker's tip for softer whole wheat baked goods: AUTOLYSE! leave the dough to rest & hydrate the flour for like, thirty minutes, before kneading! It's something that makes a lot of difference, at least to my experience. You might want a bit of extra rest for the oats, but really, REALLY REALLY, don't quote me on that! Not a professional yet, sadly ^^
Sunset Vulture: So, I looked up the term "Autolyze" so that I could better understand the process. Apparently, you mix ONLY the flour and liquid together until all the flour is moistened. Then, you let it sit for 2 to 4 hours. Then at that point, you add in all the other ingredients? This is where I'm confused. If the liquid is supposed to be warm so that it will activate the yeast, then how is that going to work if the mixture that has the liquid in it has been sitting at room temperature for a couple of hours? And, isn't it kind of difficult to mix dry yeast into the wet dough and ensure that it gets evenly distributed? I would really like to try this method, but I need a step-by-step tutorial, I think. Anybody interested?
@@goddessgirl5891 I did a 3 ingredient cookie that the main "liquid" was simply mashed bananas. It only took 10-15 minutes I think to let the oats soften with the moisture of the bananas. It might only take that long since the oats are ground into flour. Quick oats I think even less.
I have been looking for a healthy cinnamon roll recipe for MONTHS now and I've finally found a legitimate one! Thank you for your amazing videos! Keep it up!
Absolutely loved the narration! Not too fast-paced, clear and very informative (even better than narration from some native speakers of the language who seem to be competing for a stand-up comedy award, ha!). Plus, more importantly, this alternative looks just nice! The few times I've made cinnamon rolls or similar ones, I always end up feeling guilty of loading packs of unnecessary fat into them! If it is ok with you (please let me know), I will play a bit with ingredients from this original of yours and see if I manage to adapt it to suit local taste here (Latin America). If it turns out good, I will make an adapted version myself and post in on my channel-mentioning you as the source, of course! Keep up the good work!!
So glad I found this recipe. This is an awesome alternative that I've been searching for. I will definitely try this out tomorrow. Thanks for sharing your creative ideas and alternatives in a way which is even more beneficial to the health (especially due to the high amounts of fiber in this recipe). Keep them coming!😉👍🏾

I just made these with a few changes, only because I didn't have any milk (or alternative) at home. So instead of the milk, I used water and in place of the coconut milk, I used coconut oil. Even with my changes, this is SO SO DELICIOUS!! Not heavy and overly sweet. Soft, fluffy and moist. I know one shouldn't feel guilty after eating such a healthy dessert option... but what if I ate five of 'em? 🤭 Thanks for this recipe and all your others. They are so practical, healthier, easy to follow and delicious!!!
Omg these are awesome! My friend and I just made a batch together and even though i had the wrong coconut cream (too thin) they are still amazing!!! Much better than the store bought sugar bombs!
Just made this recipe, and the rolls taste really good! I added a bit cream cheese on top and some walnuts inside the filling as well, thank u so much 💕
I just made some cinnamon rolls and they were a huge hit! I want to try these and see the reactions. I would love to be able to eat them without the sugar. I will give these a try. Thanks!
oh my goodness...this looks so yummy. I must say I have never been attracted to cinnamon rolls just because all I see is sugar staring at them. But I am sold on this recipe and going to try it for my family. They will love it.
Hi there Patricia! Same thing here, I've never been crazy about cinnamon rolls, until I did this recipe. Next time I'm making it with sweet paste made of prunes:) Hope these lower in sugar cinnamon rolls will work for your and your family! Take care!
Once again you’ve created an amazing recipe!!!! My family and I love them all. Have you ever tried to make a sticky toffee pudding?? Thanks for keeping us healthy and happy.
Thanks so much for your feedback Trevor! So glad this recipe worked well for your end your family. Not really, I haven't tried if before, will take a look over the recipes. Take care!

Thank you so much for your healthier alternative recipes. Really helpful in living better every day. Your well wishes at the end are heart-lifting! God bless you.
I just made them. thank you very much for the recipe, they are delicious. Please note, the dough can become very sticky when you roll it out for filling. then add extra flour to make it less sticky. Since I don't like dates, I designed a delicious filling myself. 1.melt 7 grams of butter and spread it over the rolled out dough. 2. Then add a mix of 2 ts cinnamon and 60 grams sugar. the rest follows the original recipe
YOU ARE THE MAN!! Thank you SO much. Cinnamon rolls are my jam so i am so excited to make these. I was blown away by the dates in the filling. I love dates. Wonderful idea!! 🤍🥂

I am seriously impressed. I just subscribed. I'm always looking for healthy treats for my kids, and we already use all of these ingredients. Thank you!!
Sasha you have just brought my baking game up a few notches. These look fabulous with the two staple ingredients oats and apple sauce. I just bought a case of apple sauce (because of you) for my holiday baking. Love these. Sasha
Hi there Sheila! So glad you enjoy baking this way! Honestly I was blown away with the taste of these rolls, can't recommend this recipe enough. Take care!
If you buy heat berries you can mill it into flour with a ninja smoothie blender. If you do this right before using then you'll at least get more nutrients from the what than you would with store bought flour.
Hi Michelle! You can give it a try, but the results will be different, anyway if going with gf flour I would suggest you replace yeast with baking powder, let's say 1.5 tbsp.
I've been trying to persuade my kids eating healthy puddings and bakes, but " my healthy cooking " didn't have much approval yet...up until now, cinnamon is just too good to resist! Thank you, love your recipes!
if you really want a real cinnamon roll you can have one, those calories wont matter in a month, much less when you're 60. Healthy alternatives are great but you're allowed to have the normal version if you want it.
I have been hunting for healthy baking option, glad that I found your channel. Tried out cinnamon roll yesterday. It came out pretty well and was delicious 🥰

What can I say, outstanding now your talking, this is a must. Thank you.
Omg these are awesome! My friend and I just made a batch together and even though i had the wrong coconut cream (too thin) they are still amazing!!!
Much better than the store bought sugar bombs!
I think I got coconut milk, and it was too thin as well
i believe u need coconut cream which is also called coconut milk. u usually find them in cans and specially in the asian section

@@es647 very good, the date paste was inspired.
dates are an awesome replacement. great vid
I just made some cinnamon rolls and they were a huge hit! I want to try these and see the reactions. I would love to be able to eat them without the sugar. I will give these a try. Thanks!
Thanks for checking it out Christina! Hope these will work for you too.
oh my goodness...this looks so yummy.
Take care!
I made them. I amazed myself
(but only thank to you lol)
I love pastries but not so much the taste of sugar nor the greasiness. So these were great.
OMG, this may be your crowning achievement. Unbelievable!!

Thanks Brian! I will write it down on my list.
I absolutely love all your recipes! Thank you so much for sharing!
Great recipe! What could I use instead of dates for the filling?
Thanks! I would suggest making a sweet paste of some other dried fruits, using the same technique.
I’m so grateful for your channel!!!
I like how he explained it as if the dough is alive
I just made them. thank you very much for the recipe, they are delicious. Please note, the dough can become very sticky when you roll it out for filling. then add extra flour to make it less sticky. Since I don't like dates, I designed a delicious filling myself. 1.melt 7 grams of butter and spread it over the rolled out dough. 2. Then add a mix of 2 ts cinnamon and 60 grams sugar. the rest follows the original recipe
Hi Helena! Thanks so much for your feedback! You could also make this filling using an applesauce instead of the dates.
Hi did you mean 70 grams of butter? 7 grams sounds like very little
Thanks for uploading such healthy and yummy recipes.... God bless you !!
It's my pleasure all the way! Take care!
Well, these were amazing, and I'm happy to report that they survived the freezer just fine.
Hey I’d love to make this recipe but in my country dates are really expensive... does an alternative comes to your mind?
Any homemade fruit jam will do the work too.
I use coconut sugar
YOU ARE THE MAN!! Thank you SO much. Cinnamon rolls are my jam so i am so excited to make these. I was blown away by the dates in the filling. I love dates. Wonderful idea!!
🤍🥂
Thanks a lot! So glad you like this cinnamon roll recipe!
@@HowToCookSmarter you are welcome my dear
Any suggestions for making this gluten free?
Try with some gluten free flour mix, these might differ in texture, but will be delicious too.
Amazing good job thanks from Australia
Thanks Anita! Sending hugs to Australia!
You are the best for healthy junkies like me!
Thanks Lady! So glad to be of help.
Woww! Incredible twist to the entire recipe!! Keep it up! Happy new year 🌻🌻
Never thought about using dates for the filling you just earned a subscriber
Hi! Thanks for joining! Yeah, dates worked pretty fenomenal in this recipe.
@@HowToCookSmarter i love dates. I like to make fig bars with them they are so tasty i cant wait to look at your channel i love to make healthy baked goods i diversify what i make i like to make traditional recipes but then make healthier versions vegan versions and also diabetic friendly things too
@@kizajaxx4133 Date and fig bars, love the combo. I agree, baking healthier is so much fun.
@@HowToCookSmarter i couldnt agree with you more and with how i cook really looking forward into making some of your recipes
@@kizajaxx4133 Great! Let me know how you liked it.
I am seriously impressed. I just subscribed. I'm always looking for healthy treats for my kids, and we already use all of these ingredients. Thank you!!
Hi Sally! Thanks for joining! So happy you find my recipes interesting, hope your family will love these.
Could I use a gluten free flour mix?
Hi Michelle! You can give it a try, but the results will be different, anyway if going with gf flour I would suggest you replace yeast with baking powder, let's say 1.5 tbsp.
omg youve made my day!!! yesterday i made the delucious banana bread
Omg i have been searching the entire world just to find that my life’s most desired cinamon rolls were here all along
That's great! Hope you'll find these delicious!
I've been trying to persuade my kids eating healthy puddings and bakes, but " my healthy cooking " didn't have much approval yet...up until now, cinnamon is just too good to resist! Thank you, love your recipes!
Amazing recipe, but what caught me off-guard was that “di-go kvasac”! Pozz
Thanks Dora! Yep, di-go is the best:) Pozz!
Yayyy so happy to find this amazing recipe!!👏
i wanted a cinnamon roll last weekend but they were all 1010110034 calories 😭 until now!
if you really want a real cinnamon roll you can have one, those calories wont matter in a month, much less when you're 60. Healthy alternatives are great but you're allowed to have the normal version if you want it.
You are the best health chef thank you
Thanks a lot Alda!
😭 ALL HAIL OATS AND DATES !! ❤️❤️❤️
