BAKED CHOCOLATE DONUT RECIPE
(Makes 11 donuts)
Ingredients:
2 cups ground oats (200g)
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup cocoa powder (50g)
2 eggs
1/4 cup coconut oil (50g)
1/2 cup honey, maple syrup or agave (170g)
2/3 cups yogurt (160g)
1 tsp vanilla extract
COCOA POWDER GLAZE:
1/4 cup cocoa powder
1/4 cup coconut oil
2 tbsp honey (maple syrup or agave)
PEANUT BUTTER GLAZE:
1/4 cup peanut butter
2 tbsp coconut oil
NUTRITIONAL INFO (per donut):
187 calories, fat 7.7g, carb 27g, protein 5.4g
Preparation:
In a large bowl, add the ground oats, baking soda, salt and cocoa powder. Mix until it's well combined.
In another bowl, add the eggs, melted coconut oil, honey (maple syrup or agave), yogurt and vanilla extract. Whisk until completely combined.
Add the ground oats, cocoa powder and baking powder. Gently fold until you get a smooth and shiny batter.
Add the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and gently mix until just combined. Don't over-mix the batter, your donuts won't be as fluffy as they should be.
Transfer the batter into a piping bag or ziploc bag, cut off the corner, and pipe the batter into the previously greased donut pan. Don't overfill the molds, or you'll lose the classic donut shape.
Bake for 8-10 minutes at 350°F (180°C), or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Let it cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Dip the donuts into the glaze and place them back on the wire rack to set.
Enjoy!
This whole concept of making unhealthy food healthy but tasty is literally my fav concept ever I think
Hi there! I totally agree with this, it's such a great concept, and so much fun to do. Thanks for stopping by!
As I'm counting calories to lose weight, I couldn't agree more.
Agreed!

Your comment is literally my fav comment ever I think. I’m literally glad I read it.

About an hour or half hour to burn just one :)
How To Cook Smarter haha 😂
125 calories per donut? You insane man! This will fit perfectly into my diet! You should make more videos like this!
Hi there! So glad this recipe will work for you. I'll try to come up with some more low calorie options.
It takes about 16 minutes for me to jog off 125 calories for me at the gym... If i had the means and the time to make these I would probably collapse from exhaustion for running off each donut!
can also save more calories, by opting for pb2 powder instead of the peanut butter, and sugar free honey.
No it won't because they are very small, anyone can easily eat 8-10 of these and so you end up with ~1000-1250 in just one meal.
125 full of carbs . Which means that you will still get fat . PLus this is bad quality food which would make you fat and unhealthy anyways . Lastly IFYM is just a joke and doesnt work . If you want to be fat then continue eating donuts
Am I the only one that loves how relaxing his voice is?
Update: I tried making these donuts and they taste amazing. Thank you for the recipe!
Thanks Vanessa!
yes very soothing
Tried this recipe twice already and it’s wonderful, everyone in the fam loves it

I MADE THIS TODAY AND IT WAS SUPER DELICIOUS! Even my family members who don't care about health liked it!! Thank you for this awesome recipe. The only difference I did is that I added baking powder along with the baking soda.

One of the best recipe channels I've found. Healthy treats. Thanks.
I just made these this morning. Just the taste and texture I was looking for! Excellent recipe, thank you.
Another perfect recipe! I've just made them, but instead of donut shape I used the one for muffins/cupcakes - just took 5 min longer baking. Easy, delicious and healthy!
Hi Ivanina! Thanks for your awesome feedback! Great to hear these worked out as muffins too!
Yes yes! They are delicious! My 3&5 yo love them! For the glazing, mixed the chocolate with PB since the cacao was super strong and needed to be much more sweeter for my LOs! We loved them! Ty
thank you!!! they look amazing!!! I can't wait to try these! I've tried a few of your other recipes so far and I love them all. The banana bread has become a weekly thing in our home!

I am on a diet for the past 15 days and I have been craving chocolate so bad but didn't want to. I saw this and I am like I can't thank this guy enough. Thank you. I am so trying this.
I’m so glad it was on my recommended. It’s strange how UA-cam knew I was thinking about becoming a baker.
These donuts were so tasty! Me and my sister made them together . Also maybe could you do a healthy dessert recipe with chickpeas?
Make hummus
did they taste like actual donuts at all?
@@emmeli5492 Probably tasted like chocolate cakes in the shape of donuts
Hi! Thanks for trying these out! Chickpeas in dessert, will do some research.
@@HowToCookSmarter chickpeas can be a great base for a healthy version of cookie dough! i made it once 2 years ago or so... i dont recall a recepie but i think also dates go in there, choco chips maybe some milk and i was ven thinking of some "milchreis" would improve the dough mass a bit. Well i am definitely going to try it again
Always love your recipes. I made these tonight for me and the Mrs. but with a twist. Well, vegan. I used Silk almond milk yogurt, 3 tablespoons of prepared coffee to soak 1 Tbl of chia seeds and 1 Tbl of ground flax seed in place of the egg, plus 1 Tbl of Egg Substitute and 2 Tbl of water. And in place of the cocoa powder I used 1/3 cup of vanilla flavored Kachava but also added 1 Tbl of cocoa powder. No icing just ate them plain. Delicious
Super dobri. Hvala😍
Gonna try this recipe this weekend! How long will these keep for if refrigerated?
Hi there! That would be great! Well, it's been four days and I'm still having one in my fridge, so I would say for up to 5-6 days.
good to know!
A brownie in a ring shape. Saved you 3 minutes.
Thank you.
nobody wants a cakey brownie
@@marialopes3510 add protein powder then. Works for me.
@@lexlopez15
Protein powder makes it dried, not a fan tbh.
The cooking channel I have been looking for! Not a cuisine genius by nature, so to have this channel exist to teach recipes instead of looking online for waaayy too long, is super benificial!

Hi again, just curious, if I want to make this healthy donut version but without the cocoa powder, do I have to add 50gr oat flour as substitute? Thank you!
Hi Linda! Yes, you're correct, you should correct the amount of dry ingredients in that case.
@Daniel Johnson All it takes is one of those disgusting things to clog your arteries. But other than that you should be alright if you only eat them every few months and I don't mean a dozen either
Once again you make your recipes look and sound sooo sooo delicious 😋
This recipe is honestly amazing!!😍😍 Will definitely try it soon!🤩👌Keep going.👍👍
Hi there Yomna! Thanks for checking it out! Definitely go for it, you'll love these donuts! Have a great weekend!
Can I replace the honey/maple syrup with a solid granulated sweetener instead?
Where where where has this guy been all my life💕🙏🙊

Thanks for checking it out Dione!
Pro tip: You can also dump the whole mix in a single bowl, bake it, take out the giant half circle monstrosity and eat it while holding it with both bare hands hands like a degenerate racoon. It tastes even better with this methot imo.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣💕💕🇹🇹
Can you add how much calories per serving!
It’s 125 calories per donut!
I Really love your channel, easy, healthy and delicious, thank you!
Thanks so much for your feedback Ana Maria!
Yummy might have to try it!!!!
Made these.. they were alright but overall I’d give it a 5/10 they turned out crumbly
Hi! Thanks for trying it out!
I find I need to grind the oats a _lot_ more than I thought (they really need to be powdered) and add more sweetener than he called for.
they also need like 20 mins in the oven instead of 8-10. it's a recipe that has potential, but clearly needs more work. using gramms for everything would be step 1. only amateurs use cups and shit like that.
@@balibee91 guess im am "amateur" for using cups and stuff. I dislike elitism
Imma try this recepie and get fat imma be mad tho
Don't worry, these aren't going to make you fat!

this recipe is really really good 👌🏼 i recommend u a lot its so delicious
"These chocolate donuts has no sugar, no flour, and no butter."
Ingredients:
1/2 cup honey, maple syrup or agave (170g)
bigthonk.jpg
Agave is a low glycemic, you can eat it instead of honey guilt free
@@guess1117 but honey is healthy
@@guess1117 not the point. why advertise it as sugar free when it's actually low sugar? I think this recipe is good enough to stand on it's own without lying about it.
@@balibee91 I think he meant no white sugar.
@@zainabumer7740 it's only healthy if it's raw and not heated, let alone baked :P
These are not donuts just cakes with a donut shape
My thoughts exactly. Donuts are fried. You bake cake and bread

Literally just a small cake with a hole in it
you finally learned what a donut is!
that sure is one way to put what a donut is isn't it? what's next? grilled cheese is just bread with cheese in it?
Omfgno, a doughnut and a cake are different, if theyre not fried theyre not doughnuts, whats in the video is made the same way as a cake, the appearance IS similar to a doughnut because of the size and the hole, but the taste wont be
@@anonymous2858 would you say that fries made in oven and fries made in a deep fryer are not the same dish?
