      Follow the LCO/LOC METHOD with a silk cap to sleep. will save your hair. Wow huge difference. Almost like someone else's hair was on my head. If hair is dry put more leave in in it. Never let yor hair get dry bc its breaking. I wasn't washing mine enuff to save it. Wrong. I didnt need to wash but I needed to condit at least 2-3x a week.

      You can do a protein condit 1-2x a week and use olaplex. Not at same time. Id switch off. If u need to wash often(say you work out) just rinse and apply conditioner. Wash less or cowash if u can. Id get a satin cap to sleep in. Cheaper than a 50 dollar pillowcase that must be hand washed. Cap about 4bucks. I deep conditioned but it washed out my protein treatment. So im sticking to lco method.

    Nice video! I had frizzy hair for years. I was straightening it every week as I have very course, thick, curly hair.
    What saved my hair was using olive oil. Once I shampooed and conditioned it like normal, washed the conditioner out then used olive oil in it. I brushed it and then french Braided it, left the braid in until my hair was dry. My hair is now a lot healthier and not frizz!

      try a wide tooth comb and comb gently from the ends up. that way if you have a knot, you're not ripping that knot all the way through your hair. If you're gentle with your comb you may find a knot that you can work out with your hands and a teeny weeny bit of product- like conditioner.

    Regular trims are a must. If your hair is breaking just a little bit at the ends due to damage and you do not trim it it will continue to break more in your hair will be shorter. If you get regular trims your hair will be able to continue to grow without breaking and the breakage amount will be less. Your hair will actually be longer in a six month. But getting regular trims then allowing it to continue to break. I teach my blonde clients to maintain their trims by doing trimming maintenance by themselves in between color appointments.

      Coconut oil won't penetrate the hair shaft. It will smooth out the cuticles though. The molecules in argan oil are small enough to penetrate the shaft. So first apply argan, then coconut over that and let it sit for several hours.

    I just stopped using Split Enders, scissors, hair dressers. I realised it's the cutting that makes my hair short. Yes, it's severely damaged and needs cutting, but my habits can't be changed. I have to keep using heat and I can't sleep with hair in a braid or on silk. So if I snip it, it will get damaged again, only on shorter lengths. So stop cutting it forever and use soft water, wide tooth comb, heat spray, conditioner.

      Follow the LOC OR LCO METHOD. Im not a black female but its saving my hair. Akso yor hair needs protein 1st then moisture second. So get a protein condit 2-3x a week. 1x.a week deep condition. Use silk hair bonnet to sleep. Use olaplex 3 & 4 to help hair. Never ever let hair get dry. Dampen & use leave in conditioner. Even if u have to take a dollar tree bottle in yor purse. For severe damage use aphogee 2 step every 4-6 weeks. But don't use that and a protein conditioner. One or the other. Will fix yor hair right up.

    If you go to the gym everyday and sweat on the head everyday, it doesn't mean that you have to use shampoo everyday. There are a lot of professional athletes that sweats on their head everyday and they swear by just rinsing with water and then use conditioner. Sweat rinses off easily with water, no point in dehydrating your hair and scalp everyday. Just rinse with water then conditioner.

    1) Yay! shampoo as LEAST as possible. I’m down to once/ week, (and sebum distribution with a Mason Pierson )
    2) No heat styling! Yay!
    3.) it’s never too expensive if it works ☺️
    4.) only get a trim when needed. Hair grows .5 inches/ month
    5,) love silk pillowcases 😊

Somehow I'd feel like sending pictures of my hair to you haha just to know whats the prob with my hair. Cuz I've never use heat styling and so on. Sometimes, I thought it is just my hair types. oh no!! I'm not a hairdresser so idk how good my opinion will be! it could be a protein/moisture imbalance. Definitely get regular trims if you're able to keep those split ends off. the further up the hair shaft they split, the more "frizzy" it can look. depending on how defined your waves are, your hair may just need some product to get the waves to form more, which can look more uniform and "silky" !! I have wavy hair but would just let it air dry and it started looking so dry and thin. I should have a way hair routine coming soon!

      Alyssa D’Ana girl this happened to me. I wish i could describe how damaged my hair was from doing this. my once waist length curly hair , had broken off until about shoulder length. I had to get sm cut off & that’s where i started. It takes a lot of time and patience. I took vitamins and then a biotin & collagen gummy. I used Jamaican black castor oil with a plastic bag on my scalp for 30-45 minutes (once a week usually). Buy one of those scalp brushes from amazon that you use in the shower. It’s not that much money and using this while shampooing rlly helps with scalp stimulation. This gets blood flowing and encourages hair growth. Same with doing scalp massages. do not use too much of protein/protein treatments. you will regret it. it made my hair worse than what it already was. I had too much protein in my hair, and it broke off even more. Make sure to carefully read directions for those things to prevent protein overload. OLAPLEX... that will be your best friend. i’ve never gotten my hair dyed and ppl think it’s just for those who bleach their hair. it’s for all hair types. let me tell you that this contributed to SAVING my hair. it brought my curly hair back to life after 2 years of straightening my hair non stop. it’s something worth the money. just buy it and i guarantee you’ll notice a difference. try to brush your hair only once a day. use a wet brush too because you don’t want to snag your hair and break more of it off. always remember to moisturize your hair. that’s one of the most important things. the brand Moroccan oil has amazingggg hair masks. it’s also pricier, but i definitely recommend it if your hair is really dry rn. there will b trial and error as far as figuring out what works best for your hair. be patient and take progress pics:). this really helped me to stay consistent with my hair. it’s worth it in the end I can guarantee it. good luck girl

It generates hair growth! When I was doing hair remedies I would only use cold water, and let me tell you I would do it about 5 times a week, and my hair was down to my butt in about 2-3 months (keep in mind I was also doing hair remedies, but the cold water helped a ton) I have curly hair and usually wash my hair every other day, and I found out that shampoo is not very good to use often especially for curly hair. Okay so every random UA-camr is suggesting to not wash you hair for as long as you can. Did anyone heard that from a dermatologist? It’s not good to leave a buildup on your scalp for long time especially if you’re using dry shampoo. They will be clogging the hair cuticle and leave you with balding hair. Those hairs which fall out aren’t attached to the scalp anyway and it’s seems to fall out from washing but they will come out eventually even if you don’t wash as often. Second the brushes with that plastic ball on the end will destroy the hair strands the most. Tangled hair leads to splitting. If a mild shampoo is used won’t be harmful to wash every 1-3 days. Split ends eventually can only be solved with scissors, but some good bonding treatment can help. I’ve been struggling with hair thinning, breaking on my originally thin hair for more than 10 years and these are my comments for this video.

    I get the point of not using heat but when hair is very damaged, it takes forever to dry and that water in the hair can be even more damaging that heat.

    So just FYI, after you have colore your hair, for the first week wash your hair with After Color Shampoo by Keune with ph 4.0. Hopefully your hairdresser uses a service shampoo to rinse the hair color. And you can do their After Color conditioner but I use Wells after Service conditiiner it also has low PH meaning it’s acidic. And I know u don’t wash every day but I’m a swimmer so let’s say you wash every other day or every 3rd day. On week 2 after coloring I use a keratin treatment by Paul Mitchell called Awapuhi l let the treatment under the cap for 1 hour.

    Hair is at its most fragile state when wet, so, yes, raking a brush through your hair will cause breakage. The best thing to use on your hair is a wide tooth comb with thick plastic bristles. Period. I haven't used a brush in a decade or more and my hair is naturally wavy and pretty thick. Most brushes really are not good for your hair. I don't care what kind of hair you have. Switch to a good comb and see if you can notice a difference. This might be obvious, but never shampoo without conditioning.

    Wait so if you can’t brush your hair unless it’s wet with conditioner, and it’s better to wash your hair less, I’m only brushing my hair in the shower? Only twice a week?

    • @gracelemire
      @gracelemire  3 роки тому +2

      it depends on your hair type! My hair doesn't get knotted very easily so I can do with only brushing it a couple times a week! others who have hair prone to knotting will need to brush more often - just be really careful when brushing and work from your ends to your roots rather than brushing root to end! I had a ton of hair breaking off when brushing dry, so I tried to only brush while wet and with conditioner because it was very easy to work through. but again totally depends on your hair, this was just my experience & what worked for me! :)

    My hair is so thick and it gets tangled so easily and I always brush it while it’s dry and it would just break right through the tangles and become so frizzy and broken almost like your before pictures and the fact that it’s thick doesn’t make it any easier I was just wondering if there’s any treatment to fix dry, broken hair? and would thinning my hair and make this problem any easier?

    • @gracelemire
      @gracelemire  4 роки тому

      hi! you would probably need to cut off everything that is broken. any treatment that claims to mend broken hair back together really doesn't do that. in terms of the dryness, your protein/moisture balance could be off! I'd look into that a bit and see if having more balanced hair helps the dryness/tangles! 💛
