The question is if the aircraft has enough of a magnetic signature to trigger said detonator, which is especially finicky because designers of magnetic detonators initially didn't take into account how Earth's magnetic field varies so the sensitivity could range from not exploding at all to exploding randomly depending on location.

Two questions and a statement: 1: 6:37 How does one do this? This seems like useful information. Is it a control you have to map? 2: Is there any way to change the order of shell that reload on a cap point? Sometimes I've used up all my secondary shells and want to reload those while I still have enough primary to keep playing but I can only reload the secondaries AFTER completely re-arming the primary loadout with the amount that I brought into the game. It would be much more useful to be able to tell the game which shells I want but even switching to another shell type doesn't change the loading order. This would really help with certain vehicles as well that have two 'primary' cannons (like the Type 60 SPRG and the Double-Barreled R3 where it counts the second gun as a 'secondary shell type' and you can only load them after the first gun has a full loadout). 3: Statement. 9:40 You can actually do this with the scored points as well, and it will give you a breakdown of all the ways and reasons in which you've scored your points. Can be interesting to look at. Love these videos, Zultan!
I don't think the mission editor is unfinished, it's just outdated. The AI can't really fly modern jets, specially those with afterburners. They just fall like a brick. Arcade BRs are funky because A. Arcade is a weird place with odd energy retention and boosted turn rates. And B. Some light bombers and attackers have bloated BR’s because they can reload insane bomb-loads in air every 30 seconds or so.
9:27 its more complicated. The germans originally called both the 151/15 and 151/20 a flugzeugmaschinengewehr which translates to aircraft machine gun. From what caliber on something is an autocannon is and can still be debated it is generally agreed upon to be 20 mm and upwards. There are a few reasons for that. 1. Guns of this caliber exist but are no one man operations: Examples are the Lahti L-39, the Solothurn S 18-100 and S 18-1000 and the more recent Anzio rifles. They all weigh around 40 to 50 kg and the recoil springs are so heavy that the guns can not be charged by normal means. They are also exerting about the uper limit of recoil a human can handle. 2. The gap: Inbetwen the 15mm 12.7mm and 13.2mm cartridges exist a gap which only widened since the 15mm fell out of use. This has multiple reasons. Any gun with a larger caliber than that is no 1 man operation (in a military setting) anymore. A heavy mashine gun with a larger caliber would have to be disassembled to be carried. An M 2 for example is 28 to 38 kg depending on the version. This means it can reasonably be carried a small distance without the need to disassemble the gun. Though the tripod does have to be carried separately. 3. The end of the gap: the gap exists because rifles with larger caliber are not feasable to be moved by one soldier while mashine guns with with larger caliber would need such a heavy mounting that moving would involve many soldiers, even if the gun could be carried by 1 or 2 men. So we established that guns after theese calibers are stationary or mounted on vehicles. So we need somthing that offsets these drawbacks. This comes in form of the 20mm. At this point the filler and such begins to justify all the other drawbacks.

4:36 It is possible as torpedoes rely on impact of an object to explode, which it means that you can destroy ground vehicles if you aim accurately and drop them towards the hard parts (or they will penetrate to the ground like hitting a piece of paper but still explode ) of ground vehicles.
The shell shatter actually does work how gaijin wants it to work. Every Apds round has a critical speed (normally achieved after 800 meters) where it will shatter after penetrating a plate thicker than ~30mm, interestingly, a plate too thick like over 100mm won’t cause the shatter and that’s on purpose as well. The puma has a heavily angled ufp that can cause shatter, it’s composed of 2 5mm rha plates and 5mm rubber in between.
If you’re in the menu and have an nvidia gpu, you can press alt+f2 to go into freecam mode and see the inside of all thanks, they all have semi modeled interiors
You could totally torpedo a float plane in real life. Just depends on the torpedo and it's settings. If you have a large enough aircraft in the water, and the torpedo is set to glide as high as possible, it could totally explode with a contact fuse warhead.
9:09 I actually found this out with this current warbond shop. 9:09 you can still get these camouflages if you buy the boxes of camos from the warbond shop. I just received the Red/White Ki-10 camo earlier this week.
10:19 this is also a thing on Soviet trainers IRL, ie Yak-52 and L-39
soviet
L-39
yikes bro
@@namyx_71 It's a Czech plane and was introduced when the Czech republic was still a soviet satellite state.
So they're technically right
8:18. For some reason, shooting the little wheel things in the tracks will consistently shatter apds. Happened to me countless times while using the Leo 1
2:05 Fun Fact: Warthunder's predecessor, Birds of Steel, had a better AI flight system, but was replaced by the current WarThunder AI because "it was modern" but as you can see, Birds of Steel was better
I honestly thing a ground AI battles would be amazing
6:08 not quite, because there's also the Walrus, which is found on the HMS York. The walrus also has landing gear.
If every map has a latitude and longitude, could you do a video about the real life location of every map?
7:50 I have opened my cockpit a lot of times but I never knew that message existed cause it was in sim which doesn't have warnings
❤
You could totally torpedo a float plane in real life. Just depends on the torpedo and it's settings. If you have a large enough aircraft in the water, and the torpedo is set to glide as high as possible, it could totally explode with a contact fuse warhead.
9:09 I actually found this out with this current warbond shop. Got one of the mid-tier camo boxes for planes, and it gave me a P-51D-30 skin that says that same thing, one that I had never seen before.
11:00 Australia also had unique hangar music when you had their planes selected, but they gave it to Germany after Ride of the Valkyries was removed from the game.
Imagine having a 500% booster go down the drain when the game bugs and nobody can spawn.
5:14 F-5 also has refueling probe
I shot at an is4m with a bulldog apds round and got the “shell shattered”. Approximately 5 seconds later the bulldogs ufp also became shattered
8:47 now i know why everyone shoot ballons with MG at the start of that map lol
When the shell shatters and you die: yes , yes I’ve never seen that before
Not worried about dying
I only had it happen to me once meanwhile it keep happening to my friends
i once got the Conqueror's apds shattered. Can't remember what i was shooting at though
11:34 yup and considering that on air arcade battles the br range for those battles are +1.3/-1.3 it is very common to see something like the ki-84 fighting mig-21s
5:42 can I get a link to that video?
8:26 this fact changed my life
10:34 wrong, they were not pilots, they were just showgirls and that camo was made up just for airshow and then scrapped because guys in charge got angry. so it's just an easter egg int wt
6:54 you should do a video about ground assault considering how broken unfair unbalanced gamemode it is
in some degree its even worse than a normal pvp match
LOVE THESE VIDS Keep up the great work!
6:50 This goes for a good handful of market skins, like the M4 105 Spotting Tank skin also doesn't allow for decals
1:41 : the J-8B also does have that
8:41 Yep, definitely died to one of these before, except the map was Air RB Malta.
We missed your Knowledges keep it up man.
"The smoke is replaced with fireworks, it's pretty subtle so you may miss it" *has flashbacks of when they almost crashed my game for being "subtle" by covering the sky*
3:41 nice voicecrack haha
ps: great video, keep it up!
5:27 i think thats a reference to the cartoon the long long holiday (its about kids in the french country side taken over by the germans)
The Kisarazu kamuflage is 'historical' but wasn't official, it was something done by the aircrew for an event, without having the proper approval for it
I don't know otherwise or have any proof but I assume that goes for quite a lot of decals and camos in the past?
@@Laffey16 there's a forum thread where people try to find historical photos of every decal and most of them are unit markings done by a squad, company, platoon, etc...
@9:36 Wrong! The F3H-2 has the biggest bomb on a fighter in game, the M118.
11:30 yeah because it doesnt have the hot tracks
For that mission editor one, AI that use supersonic aircraft are very suicidal however with other aircraft they fly normally, this also applies to custom battle AI
4:35 No it’s not because the torpedoes swim low and would go under the boat. Even if you dropped close it would need ti e to arm. By witch point it will have dived bellow
Question japanese harbor torpedoes?
5:08 Free French Forces troops during WWII were either equipped by the UK or the US (mainly US), it included everything from small arms to uniform and tanks.
Just for a practical purposes you would want troops of any nationality using at least a helmet compatible with the community system of the tank you're giving them.
So French troops in US tank crew uniforms is actually pretty accurate.
9:31 the canon denomination usually starts at a caliber of 20mm and above, (thus the MG in the name).
5:11 xD LOL ce n'est pas absolument ce qui est écrit x)) Très belle vidéo instructive, merci!
I remember watching you edit this over on your Twitch! had a great time. Cheers Mate!
For the shooting down planes with tank cannons in sim battles, I achieved it with the BMD-4 shooting down a heli, for those of you who need an easier option
Doing it for real makes you feel better. I did it woth a panzer IV F2 and it felt amazing
@@WPope ok but it’s just as satisfying when there’s helicopters spawn camping
@@dingusbingus7463 It is but you don't get the satisfaction of completing the achievemnt the way it was actually meant to be completed.
5:27 I think that little camp is a tribute to The Long Long Holiday
very useful knowledge matt, excellent video as always well done :)
8:10 - "First of all your Excellency, if they didn't want to get shot they wouldn't make their parachutes so bright. And secondly, it wasn't a war crime it was a *gamer moment*."
I am lucky enough to have gotten “But how?” legitimately by a lucky shot on a plane with the M18
I did in realistic mode with a BT-7 and didn’t get the badge. They should change it so you can also do it in realistic mode
bruh, that trick at 6:38 will be a game changer for us newer players, it's by no means an Almost Useful Knowledge.
I have 2000 hours and didn't even know.
Wait why was it in czech 5:00
1:50 Thanks for including this, I had fun with it all day
5:27 anyone think this is a reference?
The ystervark has a radiator despite having a air-cooled engine.
Maybe for the oil cooling?
@@reedman0780 it has a oil cooler yes, but that's on the side of the block behind the cooling fan not in front of the engine.
@@spotty4710 what about for other stuff? Maybe a motor of some kind that needs cooling or is water cooled?
@@reedman0780 not to my current knowledge, my console had unfortunately died a few days ago soo I can't look to find anything else. But the some light vehicles have turbo sounds despite not having turbos such as the T55E1.
0:55 plus the lack of pen at distance

Me who been playing free to play for 3 years and never seen that: 🤡
4:36 similarly, the ratels all have a switchboard right of the driver which is part of the transmission hitbox
11:20 my birthday is in wt?
Lol
on the pradesh map, there is a train that moves from C1 along the tracks and will eventually come to a stop in grid C6
I have a useless fact: There is a little smiley face on the tail of the Japanese F4EJ Phantom II ADTW
Did you know, that there are naval searchlights on some custom battle scenarios, like bomber escort?
8:08 I'd sometimes gun dead planes when a teammate swooped in on a guy I was about to kill, and sometimes I'd get an assist doing that even though I hadn't scored any hits on the guy before he died. I started gunning dead planes whenever I could for a few days and got a few assists doing it but I could never figure out how it worked so I just assumed I had like gotten stray hits or from shooting near them while they were alive I got assists idk. This solves the mystery for me so thank you very much
I know the shooting down a plane with your cannon is for simulator, but for my first game in the waffentrager, I shot down 3 planes in one life. I had a 200% booster on and I got a few ground kills too so I cleared the first 5 research upgrades in one match. Best game I’ve ever had in it
I got the 90% discount on any vehicle like a year ago.
Bought the Harrier Gr.1 when it was new for $6.
