The artifical horizon is like that on multiple Russian planes, such as MiG-15, MiG-17 and some that are not in the game too (Yak-52 for example). It's actually an intended "feature" and the thing works properly as it should, just... not in a way we're used to.

@@get_serious4953 iirc, the soviet ones are relative to the plane, so like if the plane is rolled right the indicator is leaned right, but the western ones are relative to what the pilot sees, so if the plane is rolled right the indicator leans left.

Anyone who's flown Soviet planes in DCS is used to it, and makes reasonable sense. The centre of the horizon will point in the blue area if your nose is facing the sky.

The missing crew member thing is also present on several WWII British aircrafts.
Also for some reason british aicrafts seem to suffer alot of incomplete module modelling, as often oil tanks, oil coolings or crew members will be missing or some 20mm guns will both have a drum as well as a belt with box.
So many "FR" (fighter recon) planes without any recon bonus from the dude just sitting there. Like either give me better detection range or be a backup pilot or get off.
gaijin absolutely hate the UK.
The cromwell V has like 36mm of armour removed from the upper front plate, and the turret for all cromwells should have 77mm armour, not 64mm.
Fun fact:
If you shoot down all 4 Bf-110's on the German low-tier test flight map the 2 escort Bf-109's will land on the main airfield.
They also dissappear after landing.
Same happens on the British one - the Spitfires will rtb if you shoot down the Lancasters iirc.

A lot of people don't know that the US flag decal in the US tanks section is actually historically accurate. It only has 48 stars, as the USA only consisted of 48 states at the time.

It can also happen with trucks. Go in test drive and ammo rack the truck there. The turret will fly off too despite the fact that there’s no explosives underneath.
Doesnt even need to be open. Or ammo racked for that matter. Got oneshot in the AMX-50 Foch, no ammo explosion. Still had flames shoot out the gun.
@@MJRSoap Not sure there if that's the same mechanic, bug, or different. Iirc they just mentioned that flames would now shoot from the barreel if the breach was open.

@@indoorkite651 play sim, you're forced to used gunner sights. which also means you can't put bushes over the gunner sight or you won't be able to see
another fun fact, if your engine was completely turned off:
1. turret with hand cranked mechanism also got slower traverse (even the milk truck)
2. autoloader will load ammo slower

@@claverse5478 the fact that a hand crank mechanism, which doesn't make use of the engine at all, gets slower. As if the gunner turns the wheels slower when the engine is off
@@chaosinhd1823 most tanks in the game use electric assistance for traversing the turret. If the engine shuts off and no energy is available the turret will be hand cranked, thus traversing slower. Tanks that don't have electric turret traverse in the first place, like the T-50, won't get slower if it runs out of power.

the breach needs to be opened (gun reloading) and it needs to be an ammo rack for the explosion effect out of the barrel

Personally the use of a Leopard 2a6 is fairly suitable
Those are not solar panels (or at least they should not be). They are mirrors that focus the sun on the top of the central tower. This heats water, that can then be used for power or heating.

This might be useful for some. If you have well populated tech trees and are struggling to identify new lower vehicles that have been added but not fully researched yet, go to one of your current vehicles in research and click on boost research. You can then cycle through different nations and different trees to see all of the vehicles that are currently available for research. I quite often do this after a new patch to save me hunting for them
The barrel discharge during an ammo explosion is a newly added feature with the winged lions (griffons) update.
I would say that the heli landing information is pretty usefull, not "almost" usefull
I knew about the stabiliser thing. Quite useful for firing on the move in centurions. The attitude indicator in the MiG 15 is actually like that IRL if i recall correctly.
The ki 83 also has a second Crew member in the back, which you can see through the Windows. But he isn't in xray or listed as a 2 crew plane. He even gets a own parachute when you get shot down

Fun video! A couple things, a large number of bombers have crew you can see that are not modeled, and the fire coming out the barrel is something that can happen with all tanks

If I remember correctly, the ADATS also has a laser rangefinder and it also doesn't correct your aiming distance automatically

3:36 if your engine has taken any damage and you belly land slow enough, sometimes your propellers will be fine clientside too!
And, on the Wyvern, when coming in for a slow landing, the plane can rest on the airbrakes and won't fold its propeller. Propeller damage doesn't affect the jet engine inside at all.
6:09 Previously the Ruhr air map could spawn Gepards and M163's at 3.7 (possibly lower) but it's been fixed to be reasonable vehicles, like Ostwinds. Real damage models for tanks are on loads of maps now, and critical hits from daily tasks count towards them too.
I was playing the Do 335 A-1 yesterday and still got an M163 in an air rb match lol.
also, I have been to the dehavilland museum and this is true, I think they had to use a venom nose wheel as a stand-in while waiting for a replacement

The Tiger 2's effect of the barrel fire isn't exclusive to the tank. Recently it was added to all land vehicles (Added in update "Winged Lions")

The reason why the 42g at 9:27 slightly redder on the stat card is because it's the free space on the bingo board
When he says that on that map you can destroy the solar panels those are not solar panels those are giant mirrors that reflect sunlight to the top of the tower that heats up water and turns it into stew which turns a turbine and creates electricity i like to call those kinds of power plants bird killers or bird cookers because birds sometimes fly into that solar plants and the immense heat from all that sunlight being directed at them burns them mid air so just a slight misconception

0:53, Hs 129 with the engine gauges outside the cockpit: all the 129s had those on the nacelles, because the cockpit was so cramped that an average sized pilot could barely fit inside.
8:30 The MB 175T is a post war french torpedo bomber with a radar. That crew member is the radar operator and the big ass dish infront of him is the radar unit. It's still missing years later but the F6F-5N has IFF and a 120km search range?
9:18 The AMX-30 DCA also has a laser rangefinder yet the ROLAND 1 has a conventional rangefinder. Its use is likely to shoot at helicopters without using the radar, annoyingly it also doesnt auto-elevate on the DCA.
The stabilizer trick has actually saved me on multiple occasions, especially in vehicles like the centurions and the Leo A1A1 that have really poor vertical traverse

Actually all tanks have the barrel explosion modelled. It was added in ‘Ground Breaking’.
That was part of its rebranding. WT was originally called World of Planes without the War Thunder part - that only came during it's public reveals and stuff as they already shifted from air only to intending to have combined arms.
The new maps ALSO have the Gepards and M163s, they also vary by tier that you're playing it

The stuff where the explosion comes out of the barrel works on most if not all tanks.

Yes, I once got a plane kill with artillery.
It was in the small desert map with oil rigs (sinai?) near the B point. BR was around 2 or 3 ... shotout to the pilot out there.
7:57 it is also possible to be kill stolen by friendly airfield. (Got this some months ago in sim where i had set a guy on fire, he then flew into my airfield giving the AAA credits for the kill and giving me an assist)
If I'm flying a bomber trying to limp back to base, it isssss rather nice to see an enemy player get popped out of the sky by AAA

I have been playing war thunder for about 200 hours and i can't make silver Lions, literally, the earnings made with tier 3 Planes (i play italian planes) are the same as tier 1, do you have any idea why? I saw on UA-cam people earning 5000 silver Lions with 1 kill made with the Re2001 (italian plane) but in the same scenario i male about 400

on the tunisia map, on the left hand side of the A point, there is an absolutely filthy spot inside the village. it is just on the west most end of the cap point, and is surrounded by buildings on 3 sides. go into custom to find it. the enemy can only find you going one of 2 directions, badly angled and most likely by accident. if you find it early and hold it effectively enough, you can prevent the enemy team from capping for up to 5 minutes
1:39 if you test flight on a strike aircraft you can also get a hull break if you drop a bomb on the truck like vehicle, i believe this is only available for slightly lower brs and idk if it works for every nation but I know its possible on the British test flight map.
Speaking of sweaty smoke screens you can use this in arcade battles against bad players that rely on the aiming reticle because the smoke turns off the aiming/penetration reticle if your are “ hidden “
I've got one more for you: the HE 112 A-0 has a closed cockpit model sound for opening and closing the glass but it doesn't have a closed cockpit in the first place
They recently added the sound of the panther's compressed air blast after you shoot the gun. A very small detail that I think its really neat.

I was trying to put decals on a tank recently and was annoyed that it was dark, so I tried a different method of changing the time of day and it worked.
All I did was go into test drive and then leave, and I came back to a hangar lit by the sun :)
The upside down artificial horizon is something some countries do have and has lead to confusion and the crash of an airliner

Some war thunder jets now have staged afterburners modeled, but the visual model is the same. You can see if it has a staged afterburner by binding throttle to scroll wheel and going one tick above 100%. If the fuel flow is less than it should be on full afterburn, the jet has a staged afterburner. You can try this for yourself on the Mig21 smt and bis.
There is a ghost crewmember on the wellington too. It is on the left side, right behind te cockpit.

One of the things I never saw mentioned in here it the "Puppy Protection" for new players. I'm not 100% sure though how long it extends and whether it extends for all weapon systems. But you can make the most of it, by going through all the nations reserve planes and work up some proficiency. What I'm also not 100% sure is, if it ends when you researched you first BR 2.0 or Rank II plane/vehicle. By making a beeline to your most iconic vehicle, you are actually getting out of it pretty fast.
Fun Fact: The speed to break the sound barrier is 1195 KMH at 6 kilometers of altitude compared to sea level which is about 1250 KMH

The front wheel bay door on all vampires has a triangular cut at the front so when the wheel retracts you can see throw the gap and see inside the wheel bay
The American Premium B-10B also has some gauges mounted on the engines.
8:03 I dont remember the tank, but if you have a big hole in the tank (I think it was a panther and I had a full load of ammo) and you get ammoracked, and while the tank is burning the smoke will come from the hole you got penetrated from.
there's also an extra crewmember on the ki-83 that's not modelled. he sits in the fuselage hunched over between the wing roots and the tail
Fun Fact: One of the reasons why Aeroflot 593's first Officer couldn't recover after the pilot's child steered the yoke was that there waa confusion as the airbus used the standard artificial horizon that possibly provided some confusion to the first officer who was used to the inverted artificial horizon
The thing with fire coming out of destroyed Tiger II is not just exclusive to this big cat, I've seen it on other tanks aswell

I asked my college classmate whos dad maintains old aircraft in the RAF he said that early models used the mosquito tail wheel but where eventually replaced later on.
