There is a serious dark irony of you saying that your average viewer cannot afford even a small amount of War Thunder and then begging for money through your patreon. Adam Smith's ghost salutes you but I do not. Downvote and unsubbed
I kinda agree, but idk how he spends that money. If he uses it on the game i look at it this way: He gets money through his patreon from people who like his content. He can use that money to make more, better and new content, for those people. However it is severely hypocritical of him to spend money on the game, since then he basically supports the paywalls and shows the devs that the paywalls work.
A pro tip to counter War Thunder is to simply enlist(not the game) into your local air force and try if you can get to be a pilot, its more productive and actually possible as opposed to trying to F2P into top tier.
My greatest achievement in WT is the fact that after 3.4k hours I've never wasted a SINGLE penny. Yes it was painful, but the feeling of never feeding the snail countered it. Thankfuly I managed to stop playing WT on the 5th of January 2024, and as today, 15th of December 2024, is going to be almost a full year. After I quitted War Thunder my life did improve and I became happier. For anyone out there, don't play War Thunder, is a complete waste of time.
@@user-jc2in3cp3g as a person who also hasn’t spent money on the game and has over 4,000 hours on pc alone ( I used to play on console ), some of us would rather spend our money on thing that we will most likely use for years to come after we bought it instead of spending some that is temporary or that we will never use again after leaving WT
I will never get over the fact how nonchalant the wt community is with 80 DOLLARS VEHICLES. That is absolutely nuts. I’m not a new player and blows my mind that it’s just normal Edit: I don’t mean this as an insult to anyone who does spend it. It’s just a fact it’s a lot of money for a single in game vehicle
For that much money we should be getting 8 premiums and also unique battlepass that would give you GE + SL + boosters and older premiums/event vehicles.

its a big boy game my guy what do you want man, i got moneys' this shit don't bother me cuz guess what i like to support companies that offer me dope as game like this
I love how your teammates try their hardest to teamkill you for no reason after 4:30 and end up dying, I could recall multiple matches where I had to dogfight several friendlies after take off ending up in -60k SL games.
Best 10.0 lobby be like, okay to be fair I did sorta teamkill once. Because I check premium plane players accounts when bored and saw a lvl 1 Su-25K, so I did some plane wrestling and threw him against the ground and didn't cost me anything, and he likely had free repair still too
It sure would, but as ftp player with 8.7 US grind still fucking sucks that i think about quitting the game. I feel like they nerfed the rewards you used to get after the community backlash. 400-500 hours invested in a game and yet hadnt reached the top tier.
@rokos.1239 yeah I only got to top tier (11.7) after like 1,000 hours, its fucking insane that they're locked behind either thousands of hours or you pay for it.
As a grizzled veteran (7000 hours) I highly recommend not buying anything until you have ATLEAST one rank V vehicle, if you say buy a top tier premium vehicle you will get slaughtered, a huge chunk of the most experienced playerbase thrives on playing at BRs/Ranks where they can farm inexperienced noobs. As an example 11.3 Japan is a lineup very rarely used outside of experienced players but has the luxury of constantly fighting new players who buy stuff like the various 10.3 and 10.7 premiums. And no you can’t challenge these people in a straight fight, they will win and most of the time will kill you without you even seeing them
It's not too late for the newer ones to try the game. But for those who already bought the premiums... Yeah. 11.0-10.3 is just premium wallet warriors that deteriorate the gameplay by only dying once and leaving. That's why I mostly play 12.0 and not 11.0-10.3.
As someone who got good with Sabres and plays DCS so I know theory when I got the F-5C I did decent and still do, unless I wake up, then I do great (Seriously how does the F-5 that is flat out worse then the F-5E get 5 kills)
I got the Type 90 B Fuji out of curiosity for its play style when it was on WarThunder aniversary sale. I remember getting 7 to 10 kills at the beginning of the match while being surrounded by enemies. God, those Type 90’s become monsters if they are used by very experienced players.
I agree with you.. my first premium was the Tiger II (H) Sla.16.. I still remember feeling like a God On the battlefield.. looking back now I laugh. 😂 but yeah
2:38 "affordable by anyone" Anyone in America or Europe, any third world country economy simply cannot even begin to fathom touching any of the expensive options, best thing I did was buy a premium vehicle while it was with a 60 something percent discount, have been using that thing for years and it was an investment lower than the premium account without the need for rushing the farming while I had premium
@@Liniyka idk if long term that is a good choice, it is a fair point that you will limit your skills and fun a lot by buying a premium vehicle, but I still think I got more value out of buying a pack vehicle than to just buying premium time. It is good to remind that premium vehicle packs also come with one or two weeks of premium account time and some golden eagles, the latter being very helpful for me to buy single day premium later on when I stopped having enough time to waste away in this grindfest
something crazy: the f5e in dcs costs less than the f5c in warthunder used to cost, before it got moved to rank 7. and in the f5e in dcs i can click every button in the cockpit. show me any plane with that functionality in warthunder
Fact that single WT premium cost same as high fidelity module in DCS is crazy. Like you can buy low fidelity jet for 14 Euros, and its still way more detailed and realistic than WT.
Remember that with this battlepass, if you are trying to get the He 177, you’re spending REAL money and spending hundreds of hours of your life to get an airplane that Gaijin was too lazy to model a cockpit for, is too slow and large to stand a chance against most rank III aircraft, and has a weapon payload that doesn’t fit the War Thunder meta.
And thanks to the cockpit, it's not even fun to use in air sim. I grinded out the PBM thinking "cool premium sim bomber for chill days". NOPE. It's shit ugly in cockpit view, and it's too slow compared to its peers so you can't get bases and I don't care for airfield bombing as that doesn't win games.
Hey it's me I bought the battlepass this time. First time I ever did. I like the grief and having a more fun payload for goofing around is worth the $13. I also get a shit ton of cosmetics and boosters for helping grind out tech trees. The 13$ isn't too badly spent because I play the game every day.
8:40 you were never close when you press that button to go it's already decided what you're going to get. That "it's close" is to keep you rolling the dice.
I have the IS-7, Object 279, 109 E7/U2 and a few other expensive event vehicles. Does that mean I can sell my account for 3000$+? I've spent about 300$ on the game over 12 years so that's a killer deal And no, these are not worth the money, not even close. If you ever consider it... just don't Play low tiers without premium and have fun, that's all this game has to offer
I always describe war thunder's structure and gameplay to new people as "the mousetrap". They flash cool tanks, fast jets, and big ships in front of you to get you in the door. The trap is set. You download it and give it a try, but you aren't committed enough to really care about keeping it installed. The game is relatively easy, and the grind isn't anywhere near as bad as people made it seem. It's drawn you in closer. You get to early world war two stuff, and you're having a lot of fun still. You check your progress towards that shiny new tiger 2 and you're... only a third of the way. You see that you can buy even as little as one day of premium time. You think "Oh well with this i can just bang it out in a day" and the trap catches you. You get your new toy and think "wow that was easy, maybe I'll buy a week of premium and grind out a whole lineup". Then it's "oh well this would do so well in my lineup" with premium tanks. You get used to it before it even becomes a necessity to progress, so that one day when your account time finally runs out or that shiny premium tank isnt high enough BR to use the falloff is intolerable.
As someone who has played grind games before, there is always a plateau point where the point of progress from new experience to the next new experience is atrociously long. Where is that in war thunder would you say? Edit: I am new to war thunder
I mean tbf I only started it January and logged about 400 hours this year and made it to about 9.0 ish in the 3 countries. I wanted to get as many varied Cold War jets as I could which is where I wanted to stop because 7.7 to 8.7 is the most fun for me and that was with one purchase of premium half off for 18 bucks cad , but now that I sit at 7.7 to 9.0 my premium expired and I just go f2p and I average only about 10K less SL per match
Thank god the mouse trap imploded on its self when I tried it. Somehow the game froze, snowed my screen and crashed my PC without so much as a BSOD. When I restarted it, I vowed never to touch WT with a 100 foot pole and immediately uninstalled.
as far as im concerned the game ends at rank 5 and everything else is just bonus content because every rank gets exponentially harder to research and this was perfect when the best plane in the game was an f86 but at the pace they are adding new shiny jets we will probably have the f22 in 1-2 years. this is a ww2 dogfighting game with tanks, ships, and modern fighters slapped added and some low effort tweaks to gameplay to make it just barely playable enough to keep people grinding
you're underselling how evil the warthunder battle pass is, it's not only generic BUT also have both the free and paid reward line combined into a single line, which means for the free pass you need to grind out levels that straight up don't give you anything and for the paid it's basically extra padding to force you to grind more or spend GE. warthunder is one of the very few games that does this
something funny for that M8 LAC (US) it's a premium and pretty strong because it has a tank canon and a 50 cal at a BR where it basically made it have two canons, the thing funny about it is that the chinese tech tree has one too and it's a tech tree vehicle.
The funny thing with the Greyhound is, as the tech tree varient was introduced with the Chinese tree, they completely nerfed the M2HB ammo, reducing to 2 boxes.
Funny enough, not playing often when starting out as free to play is a good strategy, I only log in for the daily boxes, open enough time and you will eventually win a couple of 1 million SL. I don't have to worry about SL ever since. Stick with WW2 and you'll have a good time. p/s: Also holy shit quality air RB gameplay with those idiots during takeoff
I keep getting back ups. I play air sim. You don't use back ups there. I also get back-ups for my matches' trophy boxes from air sim. For vehicles I'll never use backups for.
it’s such a shame, because when i was like 9 and 10 i enjoyed playing birds of steel on my xbox 360 back in the day. It was one of my favourite games. War thunder is quite literally just a free to play, online, monetised, pay to win version of this game. It’s remarkable how similar the games are. I’m 1000000% sure birds of steel was a basis for war thunder, for the aircraft and aerial combat anyway.
But my favorite content creator released a 45 minute ad telling me about how great it is, how much fun he was having and look at all the stuff he got by just being f2p in such a short time... Man his payday had to be huge for an ad that long.

Lol I remember being obsessed with it and after lots of grinding, unlocking the P-51 Mustang. It behaved the same as my previous plane and was barely worth the effort. I gave up after that. Don't miss it one bit.
the Gaijin coins are even WORSE bc after europeans used them to buy stuff cheaper they changed it to where europeans have 1€ = 1 gjn coin. So we pay up to 20% more.
Same shit is pulled by Blizzard and other companies selling their games. They just sell 60 dollar games for 60 euro, which is just moronic. If British pounds get adjusted roughly same value prices, why they sneak this bs, dollar has been behind euro in value for over a decade now.
Been playing since 2014. A couple of my coworkers asked me about the game. I told them to never download it, no matter how bored or curious they are. I once took a break from the game of at least a year. When I came back, they added Sweden, France, and I think Italy. That year+ break should've been the last time I played. Sadly, that was the start of my 4+year login streak. I play the game because of FOMO. While I do have fun sometimes, it's rare. Most of the time, the game feels like a chore. Log in, keep the streak going, finish the daily easy task at minimum, maybe do the "hard" task if I can roll into an easy one, same thing with the special task. I have the game minimized as I type this. I need to kill 8 more ground targets with an attacker (never going to call it a strike aircraft) to finish the "hard" daily challenge, getting closer to level 105 in the BP, so I can get the coupon to sell the Murmansk and maybe make $15, which I'll just waste on loot boxes. If you haven't played this game, don't...
A while back someone hacked onto my account and spent what little SL I had, like 400k. When I locked them out and fixed my account security, I asked Gaijin support for help and if they could restore my stats and currency to what it was. They straight up just told me "We don't do that." Imagine if you spend thousands of dollars on this game and then something happens and you lose it all through no fault of your own and Gaijin just laughs at you and tells you to get lost. Do you really want to spend money with that company?
People who are in a sunk cost fallacy would probably still play ive never played WT but these comments sounds miserable from spending 3-5k hours to get good stuff on FTP or spending thousands of dollars its wild how gajin is allowed to charge $80 for an in game vehicle
They straight up deleted all progress that my old account from a few years ago had, support was completely unhelpful. No way I'm grinding all of that again.
I definitely agree with all of your financial advice to avoid all the supposedly helpful premium features and just go with a premium account if you want to spend money. I guess it just depends on how you want to play the game, as a free to play player myself and history enjoyer I was never really concerned with the grind, I only really play sim and find the most enjoyment there with props. The level of detail in War Thunder as a free to play game is pretty good despite it's flaws but obviously money does have to come from somewhere and the methods for it, though a bit predatory are generally all up to the decision of the player.
24:52 some advice on the BA-11, it’s basically a slightly worse bt tank that’s less prone to being one shot, the only reason it’s so expensive is because it’s one of the only world war mode vehicles to not have been put in any crates since it’s released which is why it’s over 100 dollars. The BM-13-24 also used to have the same issue at around 230 dollars due to not being available for the longest time, only showing up in crates this year
well yeah, I'm fine playing biplanes, I don't want super sonic jets that well take 5+ years to get to as a free to play player. nor to spend 100+AUD on jets. I got what I want that is biplanes and ww2 era planes.
True, I personally joined WT in 2015 after reading a Soviet pilot's memoirs about the civil war in Spain. And all I wanted was an I-16. Then other books came into play, and I branched out into various Yaks, La, 109s, Spitfires and occasional 190s. Have been playing the game as a means to occasionally dwell in my aviation hobby ever since, no regrets
one thing I remember from a YT video some time ago: It actually makes sense to buy modifications with GE sometimes. If you buy a mod with GE, you immediately get it installed, meaning you do NOT have to pay the SL to buy it. That means if you have it almost reaearched, you can get 30-40k SL worth for 1-10 GE
This thing is definitely not a lot of people to look at. You could save thousands of SL just by using a few GE. That's why i have a few hundred just in case I really want to get a modification.
@abroamg Agree. And if you buy a 1 year premium account at half price it is only a few bucks per month. And that also can generate a pile of SL if you do not chase high tier development.
The way to consistently beat out the economy in this game is to get 4-5 friends to share 2 accounts. I started playing this game when I was in 5th grade. Now I'm about to finish college and me and my 3 younger brothers played it on-and off for all that time and now we have 2 accounts with top tier on multiple countries. If we were okay with sticking to 1 country, we could have probably gotten away with like half less grinding, but eeh, it's nice to have options I guess. It's like that scene in Guadriand of The Galaxy. As a single mere mortal, playing this game will utterly destroy you, but with the power of friendship, it suddently becomes possible to handle it.
Also Rank 1\2 event vehicles cost more not because they are premium, unique or fun. They cost more because you can farm events with those (you need rankIII if you don't have a lower rank event vehicles) so you can REALLY EASILY grind events by basically sealclubbing with vehicles like M8 LAC, Ba-11, T18E1 and such. So you can basically grind any daily event in like 1hour a day
To me anything under rank 5 is seal clubbing. And rank 3 is ez. You just get in there with the russian 4.0 lineup and lay out the hate on scrubs in their panzerIVs and M4s.
@thegrandestcherokee7161 if you got the free panzer 4 command variant from the war bucks shop last season you can have a rank 3 3.7 lineup of just pz4s and stukas
@@suzanarubi9254 You can't do dailies but event grinds (i.e. the upcoming winter event) are possible with them. You just do dailies with standard TT vehicles.

What that pilot is doing in the beginning is a real thing pilots do called “chair-flying.” It helps pilots keep their skills in check to an extent. Both military, commercial, and general aviation pilots often practice this.
That aspect is true, however it's still not worth anyone's time I believe. At almost any BR you will encounter broken overpowered premium or event vehicles, the crew skills system is basically P2W and the community management is awful. Also game design is boring, teamwork is not incentivised to the point you almost get punished for it, at least in Air modes.
@argh1989 If you play realistic aerials, the design is definitely horrible, in arcade it is much more digestible, but in both arcade and realistic tanks they are good enough
premium subscription/membership AND battle pass (why is there two???? why is there a battle pass AND a premium membership/subscription), purchasable vehicles, upgrades, buffs, decals (skins), etc… microtransactions galore AND an in-game currency. "I want this content in the game, not locked behind a paywall" And there is the crux of why all free to play games are inherently trash-tier garbage not worth the time or attention the so crave. There is no reward for playing the game, just incentive to spend money on it in an endless treadmill. They are all made worse intentionally so as to encourage spending, and I don't know how people can enjoy something like that...
Hi, I pay $60 a year premium and have unlocked most of the stuff in the game. It’s very fun as long as you’re not a dumbass whale and buy the mostly copy paste premium vehicles!
I mean, there are plenty of f2p games that don't lock content behind paywalls, for example : Fortnite Apex legends Warframe Marvel rivals So yeah, i mean you could say that they'rr an "endless treadmill" but unless you're playing a single-player story game, every game is meant to be a treadmill

Watching you open the loot boxes is funny because back in the day, they had a feature that literally made the loot boxes rigged against themselves, how it worked was if you gamble you can redeem 1 crate open for 5~ coupons which you could get when you redeem a vehicle skin, but 1 rare = 20 coupons. So I ended up with a kv-220 TV M8 lac and like a dozen other super exclusive vehicles for the 500 GE i spent lol
Im a veteran, recently started a new account. With premium time and a full top tier premium lineup took me only 4 weeks to finish the soviet Tech tree. Premium things are unfathomably important in the progression of this game.
Premium account combined with a talisman/premium vehicle gives quadruple RP compared to normal. It's ridiculous how fast progression gets compared to f2p.
Місяць тому+1
just grind sim . WAYYYYYY faster but play it right
Btw in air sim you could play only for half a hour if you have a good booster like 300% for RP, because such big boosters are active only for 1 game, and booster description tells that every 30 minutes is counted as one game(you can also make sure by looking at your vehicle description(open map with M and hover cursor over your plane), it shows your reward multipliers in description so you can tell whatever it's active or not), so yeah do your best and then you can just leave because without boosters it's not worth the time after all these nerfs... I used to bomb bases for 30 minutes every time I had a booster and it made grind so easy.. but I'm not sure if bombing bases is fast enough at lower ranks, I didn't know about it at lower ranks, but it became really helpful at rank 5-6, you have to just get about 600 points every 15 minutes and land to be able to get biggest reward(so only two times), but you have to land exactly after 15 minutes to get landing rewards(well actually I'm not sure whatever it's 15 or a bit more, it will show useful actions reward at middle of a screen if you wasn't looking at tab/map/something else at that time)
This is the best guide. I just hope I had seen this before spending 1.5k+ EUR equivalent on the game. I just love those unique marketplace vehicles that aren't premiums.
best way to play WT IMO. buy GE when Premium is 50% off. you buy a year, and buy the battle pass with the left over GE after you bought premium. idgaf about the vehicles in the battle pass but the SL that is in the battle pass is a nice bonus. but ONLY buy premium when its half off
I was just happy doing formation fights in the B17. I found out that 90% of bomber players just want to fly in formations. So just ask other bombers to form up and you will 9/10 times get in to a formation. I still have footage of formation battles.
Pretty thorough. There’s a lot of chatter and memes about wt that completely throw off peoples’ perspectives. The reality is that it is a very detailed game that’s had its engine and vehicle library built over the course of 12 years and you pay an appropriate price for its realistic and sim fidelity regardless of whether you actually use it or whether you stay in arcade. Premium time is basically wt’s version of the classic MMORPG subscription, where you have a trial account whenever you don’t pay the fee. This is not a conventional F2P game. Maybe if it were only arcade it could be. But at a fundamental level there’s functionality in this game that allows it to compete with *DCS* and actually compare in several aspects; I say that as someone who’s played both and heard the dcs community’s words about their own *questionable* dev team, lol. And because of that, wt is really a very expensive game that you’re allowed to try for free. 100%, play for free through rank 3/4. Try Realistic. See if you really like the game. If you do, buy in. If you don’t, stick to WW2 and you’ll get by with little to no expense. Also, yeah, the market is fucked, because it’s a player market. Everything is limited quantity and most of it comes from grinding events, so when the vehicle is cool and there aren’t many left, people are going to put it up for stupid prices. I have the P-59. I got it for free when it released. No, you can’t fly it. lmao Jokes aside I do have an extra tip that I don’t think you covered but I may have missed it. If you have the game on steam, never make real-money purchases through the steam client or store. They mark up the prices to counter steam’s cut. Buy from the website.
IS-6, when I bought it it was 7.0. An absolute monster, now gaijing nerfed it into the complete ground sitting at 7.7 fighting mid-late coldwar enemies as a postwar tank. An absolute disappointment
The is6 is faster and better at reloading than the is7 that sits at the same rating. Both tanks do rather well. You just can't be brain dead like you can with the kv1E.
My War Thunder login details got leaked in a data breach, so I froze my account. When I wanted to unfreeze it I had to exchange emails back in forth with support about identifying myself, idk what it was exactly, it was years back at this point but it was so annoying and I wasn’t a very active player before my account was compromised and was f2p anyway, so I lost interest in retrieving it. This video makes me glad I didn’t.
what gets me is, they charge for bombers (limited use cases), flamethrowers (zero use cases), artillery (zero use cases), anti-air (zero use cases) etc… without any way to use them lmao. PvE isn’t the consideration of the game (for things like AA, artillery, bombers, flamethrowers etc), PvP is (the game is only really meant for fighter on fighter, tank on tank) etc… They don’t care for PvE and don’t factor it into the game in any meaningful way. What is the point of a flamethrower when there’s no troops? What’s the point of a bomber in a domination game where there’s no targets to bomb?
Have you ever even played the game? Bombers are incredibly powerful in ground battles. And the flamethrower may not be very useful, but it is able to kill open top vehicles
flamethrowers and incendiary bombs are basically "what's up fellow military obsessed clueless kids? we have now yet another content island useless for the usual game, hop in!"
@@txcgladiator4030 did you not read what I said? The game will put me in a domination game when I have a bomber selected - when there’s nothing to bomb.
Honestly, top-tier gameplay isn't even that fun and this comes from a dude who actually likes modern machinery (be it planes, tanks or whatever). Most people are clueless as fuck, matches end within 3 minutes (literally decided by who dies first due to most people only ever having 1 vehicle - because they bought a premium one and don't have anything else to bring to the table - and end up leaving after they die strolling around somewhere); then there's the CAS problem where you get bombed from fucking Narnia and can't do shit about it... Maps are fucking awful too. Literally tier 5 or below is the place to be, specifically tiers 3-5 where there are tons of unique vehicles - where they actually are able to do shit in the matches - besides the copy-pasted shermans, t-34s and panzers...
As someone who played war thunder maybe once when it was first released, this is wild to find out. It’s like pay to win with extra steps except each step costs $80 😭
27:15 My favorite BP quest so far is 'kill enemies with heavy tanks'. You might think that's not a big deal, but the issue is, I play Japan and their entire tank tree only has 2 heavy tanks and both are premium
With all you said, I look at this video and what my brain tells me is "I want to play this NOW" I haven't played this game in over a year. Thanks for that
I can’t even use the marketplace because two factor authentication is so annoying to set up. You have to get the Gaijin pass account which reminds me of the third party app my workplace uses as two factor authentication. And even then i haven’t really gotten it to work. Even walking through the door into the Gaijin marketplace is hard to get through. The marketplace is just purgatory for where the actually cool vehicles go to die.
I always wondered how this weird free to play game that looks like total ass somehow manages to hold on to a sizable playerbase and this certainly explains it, gambling+ a marketplace. of course.
It’s not total ass at all, only if you don’t like military games you would think this. It’s a very good game gameplay wise (with some notable flaws such as weird map design for certain tiers).
out of everything in this list, crew points and buying rp is the most understandable. if youre like 300 rp points away from a new vehicle, instead of waiting 2 minutes in queue, 3 minutes taking off, 5 minutes heading into battle, get 1 kill, then dying, then waiting for the game to end, then boom its done, but having or just buying 1 dollar of GE to research it is better than waiting 30 minutes. Crew points is just one of the best things to buy

I kinda agree, but idk how he spends that money. If he uses it on the game i look at it this way:
He gets money through his patreon from people who like his content. He can use that money to make more, better and new content, for those people. However it is severely hypocritical of him to spend money on the game, since then he basically supports the paywalls and shows the devs that the paywalls work.

I think a lot of people need to repeat this to themselves in the mirror
And thanks to the cockpit, it's not even fun to use in air sim. I grinded out the PBM thinking "cool premium sim bomber for chill days". NOPE. It's shit ugly in cockpit view, and it's too slow compared to its peers so you can't get bases and I don't care for airfield bombing as that doesn't win games.
Hey it's me I bought the battlepass this time. First time I ever did.
I like the grief and having a more fun payload for goofing around is worth the $13. I also get a shit ton of cosmetics and boosters for helping grind out tech trees.

I love watching my friend play War Thunder because it reminds me that I can reinstall Ace Combat 7 and replay the campaign.
That place is definitely in the second to last tier, you'll spend about the same amount of time grinding tier 6 and 7, as you did all the way up to it
Thank god the mouse trap imploded on its self when I tried it. Somehow the game froze, snowed my screen and crashed my PC without so much as a BSOD. When I restarted it, I vowed never to touch WT with a 100 foot pole and immediately uninstalled.
@@gianttacogod That point is going from tier 1 to tier 2. So basically the first couple of days. I saw what was going on early and got out.
as far as im concerned the game ends at rank 5 and everything else is just bonus content because every rank gets exponentially harder to research and this was perfect when the best plane in the game was an f86 but at the pace they are adding new shiny jets we will probably have the f22 in 1-2 years. this is a ww2 dogfighting game with tanks, ships, and modern fighters slapped added and some low effort tweaks to gameplay to make it just barely playable enough to keep people grinding
who needs premiums when you got 4000 hours of to waste in your life?
Over ten years since release is allllmost justifiable
I have that but am only up to the bmp2 (I don’t grind ) or pay money
you're underselling how evil the warthunder battle pass is, it's not only generic BUT also have both the free and paid reward line combined into a single line, which means for the free pass you need to grind out levels that straight up don't give you anything and for the paid it's basically extra padding to force you to grind more or spend GE.
warthunder is one of the very few games that does this
On the other hand, the battle pass (in its current form) is quite easy to grind, if you have some spare SL and do it cleverly 😉
something funny for that M8 LAC (US) it's a premium and pretty strong because it has a tank canon and a 50 cal at a BR where it basically made it have two canons, the thing funny about it is that the chinese tech tree has one too and it's a tech tree vehicle.
The funny thing with the Greyhound is, as the tech tree varient was introduced with the Chinese tree, they completely nerfed the M2HB ammo, reducing to 2 boxes.
they butchered that tank by nerfing the stabiliser and doubling reload speed. should've went up to tier 2 as a higher br with scouting.

You did something to get hacked tho

It actually makes sense to buy modifications with GE sometimes.
For those that have 20m and net 50k profit every game, sl isn’t worth a single GE

@granienasniadanie8322
We barely have like 2 french WW1 tanks - biplanes available are like 20s to early 30s
@argh1989
If you play realistic aerials, the design is definitely horrible, in arcade it is much more digestible, but in both arcade and realistic tanks they are good enough
4:32 bros attention span is so short he forgot who teamkilled him 😭
This game reminds me of star citizen with all the insanely expensive things you can buy. How do people not realize how badly they are getting scammed
premium subscription/membership AND battle pass (why is there two???? why is there a battle pass AND a premium membership/subscription), purchasable vehicles, upgrades, buffs, decals (skins), etc… microtransactions galore AND an in-game currency. That’s not forgetting the loot boxes, purchasable extras etc… I just can’t believe it.
edit: WOW. I didn’t even know there was also a marketplace and keys etc… even more - incredible.

"I want this content in the game, not locked behind a paywall"
And there is the crux of why all free to play games are inherently trash-tier garbage not worth the time or attention the so crave.
@swayrage7884 Not everyone has got the time to play a video game like it's a full-time job.
I mean, there are plenty of f2p games that don't lock content behind paywalls, for example :
Fortnite
Apex legends
Warframe
Marvel rivals
So yeah, i mean you could say that they'rr an "endless treadmill" but unless you're playing a single-player story game, every game is meant to be a treadmill
I got a war thunder mobile ad while watching this
the best tiers in the game is T2-4 WW2 era stuff, if you like that era it's not really a grind, it's fun.
I will never spend a dime on this game just for the flex
Odd flex
@ScribesTV a flex eitherway and so far im on 8.0 both air and ground

That’s exactly what a German main would say..
@@klayt2024 funnily enougth - yeah, can confirm. German CAS sucks tho, but it's the only downside, and honestly, it should be like this for all nations
@@darkwarrior6739 I agree ☝🏼
Im also a German main 🤣👏🏼 it’s honestly my fav lineup to play 6.0 to 7.3 is the sweet spot.. I love my US line up but just hate that 90mm.. gotta play more precise with the US.. I will say Russia is nice if you can force yourself to grind until you get the IS4M & t-44-100.. 😮💨🤙🏼
@@klayt2024 my favourite lineup is 8.0 - I friggin love AGTMS! And germany has a whole ass 4 or 5 of them at a single br! Rauketonaut is crazy fun too, espeshially when getting downtiered. I am relatively new player here, so I didn't play much of other nations, but yeah, Russia seems to be fun too, especially isu-152 and others of this kind - they feel like m109 at 6.0. @@darkwarrior6739 I’ve only played for like 8 months man hahah I’m new too kinda.. yeah the US is tricky.. tbh it’s a challenge but once you figure out the play style it’s kinda fun.. but you’ll scream at the screen a bit at first.. takes shot placement to a whole new level.. hahah yeah my 8.0 is def fun for Germany.. the higher I go in BR it seems the game has to slow down in a way.. gotta be smart about map placement and half way take your time to get off a good shot where as the 6.0 to 7.0 range I still have the armor to take hits and rush in blasting hahaha but my maus is 8.0 now so that sucks cause you can get penned easy now haha..
0:07 for me he looked like he was having flashbacks.
It's ridiculous how fast progression gets compared to f2p.
just grind sim .
5:29 chat going wild here
best way to play WT IMO. buy GE when Premium is 50% off. you buy a year, and buy the battle pass with the left over GE after you bought premium. idgaf about the vehicles in the battle pass but the SL that is in the battle pass is a nice bonus. but ONLY buy premium when its half off
6:00 I felt so good
I was just happy doing formation fights in the B17. I found out that 90% of bomber players just want to fly in formations. So just ask other bombers to form up and you will 9/10 times get in to a formation. I still have footage of formation battles.
I ended up getting the FW-189 from the crates. Fun? Yea! Worth it? No!
I wish I got it cause it's still not playable in the original IL2.
Great vid but, i think its also important that the snail with its infinite wisdom uses local pricing, but all that means is 1$=1€.
No, you can’t fly it. lmao
Jokes aside I do have an extra tip that I don’t think you covered but I may have missed it. If you have the game on steam, never make real-money purchases through the steam client or store. They mark up the prices to counter steam’s cut. Buy from the website.
Errrm touch grass?

Man this is a very true and sad but hilarious video
Thank god I was gonna play it but my pc was too bad to even handle it. Almost stepped on a landmine there
IS-6, when I bought it it was 7.0.
It was pay-to-win. Now they've released newer more expensive premiums and they have to incentivize you to buy those instead.
well deserved, the is6 was completely op and p2w back in the day. at 7.7 it faces tanks that can actually do anything against it.
4:55 what a turd
what gets me is, they charge for bombers (limited use cases), flamethrowers (zero use cases), artillery (zero use cases), anti-air (zero use cases) etc… without any way to use them lmao.
The game will put me in a domination game when I have a bomber selected - when there’s nothing to bomb.
looking at those lootbox odds make this one feel like gatcha games are downright generous
There is no such thing as a "Free to play" game in the first place because time is a currency you will never get back.
Warframe though
If product is "Free" then you are the product.
Time is always a currency, paid game or not. Just that F2P will make you slave away at it. Paid game too especially nowadays.
I just checked the DLC for war thunder I had no idea the planes were over $60 for higher tier like WTF
2:26 goes hard ngl
27:15 My favorite BP quest so far is 'kill enemies with heavy tanks'. You might think that's not a big deal, but the issue is, I play Japan and their entire tank tree only has 2 heavy tanks and both are premium
Playing only Japan is a stupid limitation you imposed on yourself. Gaijin allows you to grind with any nation you want.
war thunder is the least of my spendings, bro I play star citizen.
OOOOOOOOFFFFFFFF MY CONDOLENCES TO YOUR WALLET, I PLAY ED love space sims

1:44 no i wont come i need you to put more furry pictures in the video so i can come
there are plenty of other websites with furry pictures, why this war thunder video?
Crew points is just one of the best things to buy
hi f2p player here. it doesn't take that long to reach top tier. specifically it took me like 200 hours of match time total to get to the f16aj.
Days*
200 hours? Did you just speed run top tier and skip a bunch of vehicles? And do you like win every game. Oh and what country was it
@@syep12 i did go straight for top tier. it was jp so not many jets to grind. winrate was usually positive i think but i kinda sucked at the game until rank IV and then i also struggled with jets for a while.
they added a bunch of jets to jp this update so it is going to be slower from now on, but at least you won't be forced to play the phantom.
I had to rewatch the part where one of the teammates got taken out by another teammate and then tried to kill you, and then a different teammate also went after you, lmao
Honestly, F2P isn't that bad if you're willing to accept it will take you literal years to get to top tier
