  • Learn how to make Overnight Oats Breakfast in just a few easy steps and let your busy mornings be slightly hassle free.
What better way to start your day with a ready breakfast at your service that's delectable as well as a super time-saver during the early morning hustle. Food blogger Tarika Singh is up with a delicious and extremely healthy oatmeal recipe that you can prepare overnight and store it for the next morning.
    Ingredients:
    2/3 cup instant oats
    2/3 cup milk
    1/2 tbsp. basil seeds
    cinnamon
    1 tbsp. honey
    1 fresh banana
    1 fresh apricot
    Method:
    - In a jar, add the oats, basil seeds, cinnamon, honey and the milk and mix all these ingredients well.
    - Seal the jar tightly and leave it in the refrigerator overnight.
    - Take it out of the refrigerator the next morning and taste it to adjust any flavors. (optional)
    - As the meal soaks up a good quantity of the milk overnight, you may add a little milk if you do not like to have a thick oat meal.
    - Layer the oat meal with fruits - cut in small pieces of banana and fresh apricot.
    - Your Overnight Oats Breakfast is ready to be served.

The oat (Avena sativa), sometimes called the common oat, is a species of cereal grain grown for its seed, which is known by the same name (usually in the plural, unlike other cereals and pseudocereals). While oats are suitable for human consumption as oatmeal and oat milk, one of the most common uses is as livestock feed. Oats are associated with lower blood cholesterol when consumed regularly.

L o v e this recipie. Actually, one of the best I have seen. I add almond milk and I even add some to my smoothie drink in the morning. It makes it creamier & bumps up the fiber content, which does help to shed off some weight along with some self control. I have lost weight just by eliminating dairy products & having smoothies for breakfast.

I prefer the steel-cut oats. When I cook them I will usually prepare a few days of oats at a time. They take longer to boil than rolled oats, so making several days ahead of time saves more time. But I'll also do what you did and add the sweetener and cinnamon as it keeps well. Good video.

Dont eat milk plus sour fruits
    Milk and fruits
It s fashionable these days to blend fruits into smoothies, and they make for great Instagram pictures. Most of these fruits have a dairy base like milk or yoghurt. This can spell disaster for your health according to Dr Bhagwati. Fruits like banana, strawberries, pineapple, limes and oranges produce heat on digestion. But milk, on the other hand, has a cooling effect. When these fruits are broken down in the stomach, they become sour. When milk and these fruits are consumed together, their mutually opposing qualities can douse the digestive fire. This, in turn, can cause an imbalance of your gut flora. Ama or toxins are created in your stomach, says the doctor. Mixing milk and fruits together often causes colds, coughs, phlegm and allergies

Which seed you added? Cause a lot of other videos recommend chia seeds and I don't get it over here. Everyone is recommending rolled oats too, do they taste better? What's the difference?

    • @getcurried
      @getcurried  9 років тому +1

I’ve added ‘basil seeds’ or what’s popularly called ‘sabza’ in India. You can find it at almost any grocery store. Yes, Chia Seeds are tough to find in India, but these seeds are a decent substitute. Rolled oats are less processed than instant oats, so that’s why it is recommended over instant ones. But rolled oats aren’t as widely or easily available in India, I use them whenever I can find them, but that isn’t always the case.
