I have to say, this is THE BEST Thumb Print cookie recipe I have done. In the last month I have tried so many of these recipes its UNREAL! They all either don't hold their shape, or just taste off. Some are too loose, some too hard, I could go on and on. THIS recipe is great! The cookie itself is really good. It holds its shape and the jam doesn't run all over the cookie! Thank you!!! I did buy a silicone cookie pan. It turned out good. Just can't get alot of jam on top.🤔
My husband loves jam-filled cookies, however, most recipes have the jam added before baking (the jam burns straight through the cookie) or after baking (the jam just sits there). This recipe's method is perfect -- nicely melted jam and the cookie retains it's base. Thanks for sharing!
Adding eggs is ideal for the softness of the cookies. But you can omit and not add any substitute. You will still get the dough like consistency because of the room temp butter.
I'm very leary of this recipe because what stopping the cookies from spreading? Usually you'd add cornstarch to stop them from spreading. 🤔 Ok. So I just made this recipe and my suspicions were correct. They spread out and there was no longer a hole to put the jelly. I'm moving on to a different recipe.
Ok, followed directions and cooked too buttery and spread out. Did not stay firm. Are you sure about the ingredients? I feel we should have put cornstarch to hold the cookie firm.

I just made them and they turned out fine. After you take them out of the oven it says to us a spoon to make the hole deeper again.
