Today is my late Mother's birthday. This was her most favorite style of cookies, if bought, if homemade. She wanted them every day and would have eaten them day and night, if possible. I *wished* I could show her this. She would that very same moment have 'begged' for your cookies, and I would have tried the new recipe. They look so tasty *and* beautiful! I have search and this is the result For each table spoon of custard powder you can use one Table spoon cornstarch plus one tea spoon of vanilla extract
From my understanding, custard powder will work as a flavour. In the recipe there is no essence. I think custard powder can substitute by vanilla essence/ vanilla sugar. ( Not 100% sure though)
Please keep these cookies in an air tight container and store in a cool dry place.

It makes it crunchy because of the corn starch but it adds colour too. :-)
