Are you using true cinnamon? Anyone who is reactive to a food will have a glucose spike from inflammation/cortisol even when the ingredient doesn't make sense. A friend had a 40 pt spike from sauteed zucchini.
I eat steel cut oats with blueberries, chia seeds and ground flax with some Yogurt. I take your glucose supplement. Sometimes replace oatmeal with Quinoa. Amen. My AIC stays at 5.0. Thanks you.
I found a crock pot recipe with a cup and a half of steel cut oats, apple slices, 1/2 tsp Ceylon cinnamon, 3 1/2 cups of water. Be sure and spray the small crockpot with cooking spray first. Mix all and cook on low for 8 hrs in small crock pot. I have done this 2 times now and have enough oats for at least 4 breakfasts! Delicious! I use stevia for sweetner.
I stopped eating oatmeal because within an hour or so, I would get really hungry which is a sure sign that it was spiking my blood sugar. I will try the Steel Cut Oats and see if it makes a difference. Thanks for all of the information that you have provided. I really appreciate it!
Oatmeal trick I do. I use sprouted organic oats. 2 Tbls oats 2 Tbls flax seed 2 Tbls chia 2 Tbls hemp coconut oil top with butter cinnamon cream monk fruit and cream yummmm 🎉
Monk fruit is 300x sweeter than sucrose, and artificial and low/no calorie natural sweeteners still spike blood sugar. Weening oneself off of sweeteners will eventually increase one's sensitivity and appreciation for the sweetness of fruits.
My wife (who is not diabetic) and I make a mix to give oatmeal added flavour. We mix raw sunflower seeds, raw pumpkin seeds, crushed almonds, ground flax, and chia seeds every few weeks. Sprinkle two teaspoons over the oatmeal. If you like you can substitute pecans or walnuts for the almonds if you like. This also helps bland high fiber low GI cereals like Post Wheat 'N Bran Shredded Wheat.
That was a picture of rolled oats not steel cut. I also treat steel cut oats like grits in respect to cooking with water and adding some olive oil, salt, pepper, cumin and diced onion, mushrooms and asparagus. Goes well with side of eggs. I use 1/4 cup organic steel cut oats , Walmart brand. I’m not diabetic but my understanding is that steel cut oats are lower glycemic because all the fiber from the husk is still there and not processed out.

I has recently started on your advanced glucose support and the next day my my glucose was 90, the following day 88, and on the third day was 77. Just like you said it is close to a miracle.

Have been eating oatmeal for years, with sliced almonds, and cinnamon. Kept getting increasingly constipated. started using cider vinegar gummie probiotics, after about a month or so, bowel movements started to become normal again.
I need a bit of constipation actually so I will try this maybe but do you use water or milk to cook in? And it is kinda sweet enough with the cinnamon alone? No butter then I presume.
I love pairing with a sill firm almost green half banana. High in fiber and fills me up while stimulating bowl action. I also soak my oats over night to eliminate any gluten. My body loves my oatmeal. I bet I can fix it a hundred different ways!
Dr Ergin I refer to your video clip about Moringa. I have a Question: I am diabetic type 2 and I am taking Metformin 1000mg in the morning and at night. Can I still use Moringa? Please let me know. Thanx
Thank you for making this video. I'd asked you about oatmeal on your last video and you just answered my question for me. I'll eat 1 cup steel cut oats twice a week and that will be a nice break from eating eggs every day. Again, thank you.
Every time I eat steel cut oats (organic) I am ferociously hungry ALL DAY! There’s none of that “full and satisfied” at all. I’d eat it more often if that didn’t happen.

I cook ste5el cut oats the night before I eat them. Bring them to a boil and simmer 5 minutes covered. Turn off heat and leave them until morning. Voila! Perfectly cooked. Enjoy!
We need an insulin index rather than just a glycemic index. Foods that cause a large insulin spike should be limited. Oats was considered low glycemic, but I have read it causes quite a large insulin spike. Not good for diabetics.
Love making overnight oats, but admittedly use quick oats instead of steel cut. I do use steel cut if on the stovetop tho. It's really good to make with licorice root, cloves and star anise steeped in water and a splash of milk. I read somewhere that licorice root and star anise can have anti diabetic effects. I'm not sure if I use enough to do much, but it does give a nice and natural sweet taste without adding sugar or sugar alternatives.

He said something about one cup but I think 1 cup is a lot. That would be cooked and I just eat a little over half cup cooked oatmeal. By the time you load it down with nuts and berries it is a big breakfast.

I did read that if you cook starchy foods the day before you want to eat them and store in the fridge overnight it can reduce the starch content by 20%.

Tip on getting steel cut oats, soft enough to eat, and lowering the cooking time: Put the oatmeal and water in a microwave safe bowl, the night before, cover with plastic wrap, and microwave just long enough to get the water hot. Then let it set overnight. Greatly reduces the cooking time, the next morning, and you can finish it in the microwave. I take a combination of Psyllium husk, flaxseeds, and chia seeds to meet my daily fiber needs which has made my GI system very happy, relieved my bloating, and maintains my sugar reading controlled. Just an afterthought: what may work for some may not work for all. Just my suggestion.😊
I love oats, but I have found that oats make me crave food ALL day. I prefer my almond flour, coconut flour, whey protein bread toasted with tea. I do not graze looking for the magic food that will satisfy me.
Thank you, Doctor

I eat Organic and fine oatmeal, with 2% Fats Jogurt and Blueberries every breakfast. Last quarter my Hba1c is 6.6% and I loss weight too. Thank you Doctor for your informative video.
Yay doesn’t it feel great! ❤️
Please somebody answer Hba1c 6.6% it mean she is pre diabetic or not why someone said " .... it fell great
I only make steel cut oats it takes longer to cook but its worth it in the end
That’s great! Steel-cut oats are a fantastic choice. They take longer to cook but are worth the effort since they have a lower glycemic index, which helps keep blood sugar more stable. Plus, they’re packed with fiber and nutrients. Enjoy your healthy and delicious breakfast! 😊
I am so glad I found your videos

I was on Janumet XR for over 10 years. I finally lost 130 lbs and recently changed to Sugar MD Supplement. It works great!
Great job!
Excellent video. Is there any truth to the idea that you should cook oats then let them cool and then reheat them later. That is supposed to transform the carbs somehow so they absorb slower
Unlikely
That works with beans
And white rice....turns it into resistant starch.
I eat oatmeal with walnuts and cinnamon as well as a splash of milk. No spikes.
How do you know no spikes? Do you test your blood sugar after breakfast?
@@angelalaskodi3459 exactly
can you please tell me exactly how much you eat...1 cup?...thanks
Wearing the Freestyle Libre 3 glucose monitor is great for this, since you can just check your blood sugar on your phone, anytime you want. No more finger pricks.
@@angelalaskodi3459 Yes. I test 2 hours after each meal.
Had been eating steel cut oats by soaking them in coconut milk overnight in the fridge-with berries, chia seeds & walnuts. Eat the concoction at noon. It helped constipation. Then it didn’t become as effective. Now take psyllium husk instead.
I eat oatmeal regularly for the past 30 years daily in the am, l use old fashioned oats, 1/4 cup of walnuts, teaspoon of cinnamon, 1/2 cup of diced fruit[ peaches, pineapple, blueberries, pears ] with a cup of oats, l call it my super breakfast! No hunger until in the afternoon, amazing

What about sprouted oatmeal? Is that the same? Thank you.
Hi Doc, thanks for your beautiful video! I wonder whether I could make my steelcut oatmeal with a 10gr soaked chia seeds? Topping with nuts and apple with cinnamon ? It could even be my only meal for an OMAD, right?
Great video. I had removed oats, and am delighted to try again

Thank you for this information, it's very important to me.
Can you direct me to the peer-reviewed research showing how effective the ingredients in your glucose support supplement are?
What are the nutriants in oates ?
Thank you Doc for the value information.
Doc my brother is in the Philippines, where can he purchase sugarMD?.Thanks.
Dr. Sugar, I my glucose takes a long time failing down. What can I do to get it to come down. I walk, and exercise, and my doctor can’t figure it out. In the morning when I test my glucose it is usually around 113 - 115.
I love your show. Keep it up
My recipe for two of us: 2/3 cup whole oats, 2/3 cup milk, 2/3 cup water, brown erythritol, pecans or almonds, and one egg. Finish with berries, milk or Greek yogurt. It’s filling and we’re not hungry soon after eating.
Amen, your blood glucose support is wonderful doc,
Thank you so much for all the good work you do and god bless
No such thing as god
AMEN I have been using Advanced Sugar Support and DIA vitamin for 6 months great stuff I make sure my carbs are high quality Apples Stone cut oatmeal some common sense
Excellent!
I make steel cut oats, yogurt, chia seeds, and one tablespoon of peanut butter. Oh I forgot I put a few almonds and walnuts in there too. It keeps me full for a long time.
I like oatmeal but do not care for the steel cut variety any tips on preparing it where i might like it better ? I also take your AGS and it is the best over the counter help i have ever used. Thanks Dr. Ergin's
Steel cut are good. Oat groats which are the whole grain from of oats are even better. Pre-soaking the oats groats over night will decrease cook time.
tks.should we cook it or not? if yes, how long cooking? 👍👍👍
What about using oat-bran instead of oat meal?
Amen. Thank you so much
I eat my oatmeal with blackberries, walnuts, and a dollop of 0% milk fat greek yogurt, which smooths out the texture and just tastes good.
Drink healthy high fat dairy products which is actually healthier as you need healthy fat with fat soluble vitamins and also need to make good cholesterol.
Yummy 😋
Very helpful info. Thank you Doctor
You mention gettiing Sugar MD, but . . . I can't find it. It shows 16 different products, but not that one. So I am confused there. - Thanks, Dave
How about adding chia seeds to instant oatmeal?
My friends, eating healthy is not hard. What has been very hard is portion control. I cook so well and tasty, very sad to have to eat less and less. My blood sugar was getting high because of portions even though everything I eat is diabetes friendly 😢
It spikes me then drops me way to low faster then even eating something bad like pancakes
I make few weeks a day. I am type 2. I have small amount.😊
Always have oatmeal with cinnamon. Tasty, and the cinnamon stabilizes blood sugar longer.
I put a handful of chopped pecans on my bowl of oatmeal and I do not get the spikes or hunger. It makes the perfect breakfast for me.
@MightyMoran, That's a fantastic suggestion! Pecans are great for adding healthy fats and helping to balance out blood sugar. Thanks for sharing!
boil it in plenty of water and put it in a strainer to discard excess water and starch
