liking the trail boss but just a WT with some off road goodies for me , did you go to in and out burgers or rubios for for fish tacos im going to try that off road tail in the laguna Mts
After 3 years driving my gmc sierra I automatically hit the deactivate button every time I get in and start it, occasionally I forget it, but it only shuts off once till I remember it. I did hear of an aftermarket switch that will deactivate it automatically every time you start.
Your enthusiasm for the Colorado almost makes me want to buy one! Never been a truck guy, but the features in this truck compare with my car and make it enticing to own.
I think GM hit the nail on the head with these colorados. Way better styling than the outgoing, decent interiors and the fact you can get the nicest trim for sub $50k is great!
@@n0xxm3rcyxx you’re right, it is high. But compared to everything else, try getting an off-road good looking truck, with a decent interior for anywhere near that anymore.
@@Whatisthis195 I'm just trying to talk myself into it but it's hard. Lol I'm talking myself out of it more so... I have an 99 sonoma sls. It's due for an upgrade.
Hey Mike, my daughter in law works at the GM plant in Wentzville, MO. Back a few months ago, they had a family day, and we got to tour part of the plant, and they had some of the new Colorado and Cheyenne on Display. Plus, they had a nice display of their electric vehicles. We got to explore. So it looks like I might have one up on you by seeing them before you! Haha!
Ford once was the innovator for trucks, once GM came out with their multi-purpose tailgate it blew me away. GM and specifically Chevy are now leading the way with style, technology and features. The company is now run by engineers and not MBA financial people. The new Colorado is a nice looking truck. Congratulations on your media invite.
Oh man I seen a guy with the Silverado the other day in a parking lot, he was the nicest guy and let me look at it and sit in it. I would never normally ask that of someone but it was so awesome, I fell in love immediately. This is my new dream truck, pray I can grow my business enough to afford one. I have never had a brand new car before.
looks like an awesome truck. I had a colorado once and really liked it. Had the 5 cylinder motor and quad cab. perfect truck for the guy who has to commute and needs good mileage.
They look pretty nice it was cool that u got to check them all out and post it . I guess ill have to wait and see when I can test drive one. Thanks for the tour.
the slanted tailgate feature is so the lip of the gate is level with the wheel well arches so you can carry plywood/drywall and it will be flat, instead of slanted.
Currently drive a 2018 gmc 2500 custom WT. absolutely love it. Don’t need all the bells and whistles, and that’s why I’m absolutely loving this trail boss. Perfect I’m between of some nice features, but ultimately it’s still a truck.
Excellent video Mike! I love your enthusiasm. The new Colorado trucks look awesome. I agree with you about the stop start feature. It is ridiculous and I am glad that there is an on off switch. The stop start feature is useless and does not help the environment. My next vehicle will not be a pickup truck, but I enjoyed your presentation. Here's to more videos such as this one.
Great video as usual, I have been waiting on this truck for a while now. I currently have a 2016 Colorado Z71 and I love these trucks. I am sure you know the transmissions on this generation of Colorado is not good. Less that 50K on this truck and its already had the flush done and the torque converter swapped out. The shudder is gone, but the shift point on this 2016 has always felt off. Slowing to make a turn that goes uphill and you have to move to manual shift or it will be rough getting up that incline. I was worried about the new version of these truck and that "turbo lag" you described makes the worry worse. All the info I have seen on the Z71 they all have that colored stitching, which I am not against, but like you I am a fan of the blue and it looks like it will be yellow or red stitching which I am not a fan of in a blue truck. Hurry up and get that Chevy Dealership up and going I am in Jeffersonville and would rather get this truck from you.
So question. Say the work truck for example. How much does changing the engine outputs have on the over all gas mileage? And if your from Indiana are you anywhere near the Terre Haute area? And would a 2016 with over 130,000 miles still be a good purchase for a reliable truck?
As everyone said chevy killed it with these packages and features. Also your right in the Silverado that turbo is loud in a good way. This is the trim I’d get work truck with that $500 package I can deal with the steelies!
Well done Chevy Dude ! Would prefer light switch on instrument panel and not through a video screen. Will be interested to see where the pricing sorts out for these trim levels. Not sure these trucks will garner enough buyers to make the Chevy investment in the Colorados worthwhile. A good friend went from a Colorado to a Silverado 1500 Trail Boss last year as the ride and space comfort was not there. He did a 500 mile round trip with spouse, daughter, and dog, and found the interior too tight for all of them. Short distance or going solo no problem but the ride on longer hauls was a bit rough from the short wheelbase. In addition I think his gas mileage with the Silverado is not far off from what the Colorado was giving him. Mike - Hope they ask you to do the new 2024 Silverado and Sierra HDs.
Funny story. I’ve owned my Colorado for a week now and was driving on the highway with my fiance. I didn’t realize that control for the headlights was that and not the cabin lights. I hit the off button at 11 at night going down the highway and we both almost had a heart attack lol.
Hey Chevy Dude! Man I love the passion you have for the Chevrolet Brand. Hope you can get your own Chevy store here soon! These new Colorados look amazing but price for me is a bit much. A new Activ or RS Trax is more in my budget (which the styling, tech, and features you get in the 2024 Trax is amazing IMO), but I digress. Have a good one Mike!
I Bought a 2020 Silverado with the 4 cylinder turbo, i hated it gets the same or worse gas mileage then the v8. You also don’t get that instant v8 torque experience. I traded the truck away got the v8 and deactivated the highway cylinder deactivation.
Great job with the review. You did what most journalists will not do, and that is to review every single trim. Congrats on the opportunity Chevy gave you to attend and review these trucks.
Impressive redesign and trim creation by GM on these trucks. It's something I would considering leaving my full size for, especially on tighter trails my big hulking Rebel is just too big for.
If GM is “listening to the consumer,” can they get rid of that annoying quadruple horn tap when someone dares to walk a few feet from the car? Lol Great video, thank you for going through all the trim levels!
Finally, they are starting to get it- safety features should not be exclusively bundled with luxury options. The work truck with the camera is proper. I hope they are richly rewarded in sales numbers. Oh, and GM; Mike is ready for a dealership.
Your editing on this video is funny Dude🤣.😎👍👍Congratulations on your first invitation. I hope for you to get more invitations because I enjoy watching you do reviews.
Good video, Mike! I enjoyed seeing the different models and what you presented to us. I’ve seen other videos about them already, so that something. I would have liked you to turn on the ZR2, but I think I weirdly only think that way after having you say that you weren’t going to desire Chevy saying it was okay. Not sure what principle in psychology applies there. That ZR2 is so cool looking. I know it’s expensive, too. Perhaps I may be one of those old guys that buys one some day. How do you think they compare with a full-size truck in teens of comfort? See, I’m revealing my old man eats already. Well looking forward to new ones from you. Be well.
will upgrading to the high-output engine tune require premim fuel, and what are the mpg of the different power levels, also what warranty does the colorado have overall
I have been following you on Facebook for a while. I was absolutely stoked to find you on UA-cam. Of course I liked/subscribed. Great review of all the trim levels and trucks. I definitely didn't feel like you were bias for or against the Colorado. Between the Z71 & ZR2, which one do you perfer?
Good information but it was slightly tough to watch only because of the no stabilization for the camera other than that I think you already know I like your channel👍💯👊 You might be surprised at what a GoPro hero 7 black filmed in 2K 30fps ultra smooth can do.
I'm very seriously considered buying one I want a midsized truck but I've never owned anything but rams. I've never owned a Chevy . But there new Colorado's look awesome
I'm planning on buying either the Canyon or the Colorado in a few years, I'll let a few model years pass and then jump on it. If you have your Chevy dealership we may be able to make a deal.
Mike my new Z71 will be in by June ❤ can’t wait to get it ! I think I’ll be going black on mine now but still considering the radiant red love that colour ❤
Putting the switch in there is perfectly okay, people can calm down about it not having a physical switch. I haven’t touched mine, ever! It’s auto and good to go.
I haven’t seen ANYTHING as good as the Colorado Duramax diesel ( Isuzu ) in ZR2 trim. This truck reminds me of my former Subaru WRX as far as torque and even handling, as the ZR2 version is 2” wider which makes this corner like it’s on rails, AND 30 MPG!!! This truck IS an absolute rock star… and pretty rare as well.
so the Silverado 1500 has two Trail Bosses. the custom version and the LT version. it looks like they do not have the 2 versions for the Colorado. also according the Chevy's website it shows WT-LT-TB-Z71 then ZR2 for the trim level order.
entertaining and informative video, im a tacoma owner but i do loooove the sand dune color just wish they used black overlay instead of silver for the emblems and also have there been any issues with the engines being direct injection? i thought that was bad
I almost owned a Colorado at one time, but it was bought by a high school student and contained a bit of damage two weeks later. It was like new to begin with. I have always loved the aspect of the Colorados and how roomy they are for an extended cab. I love how much technology Chevrolet has put into these trucks and it makes it not only fun to drive, but tech savvy.
How is the daily drive ride comfort on the zr2? Is is soft in normal mode? How about wind noise etc? I’m thinking about getting one as my everything vehicle
I'm curious about that hard roll-up tonneau cover with the t-slot rail for the crossbars. I didn't see that as an option on chevys website under accessories. I just saw a soft roll up cover and a hard folding cover option. Looked like a retrax cover.
What a great video. GM hit the nail on the head. Buy the truck you need without having to order options. But how long is the bed, you never mentioned that?
Better looking then all other mid Size truck was looking at Ford and GMC but now you got my interest only thing all mud size trucks missing is rear view mirror single lights and back window electric opener
Am I correct in thinking something as simple as heated side view mirrors is only available with a technology package or something like that? Hard to believe, I assumed that was pretty basic. Love the new truck though.
I am disappointed in my 2016 Canyon with the 4 cylinder. At 62,000 miles, the oil pump needs replacing. I have been working through the flow chart of repairs to get this diagnosis. My truck has not been perfect by no means. Busted heater core about three years ago, Shifter was replaced three times. Both of the last two repairs was corrected while under warranty. I’m just not sure if I would purchase another one. I’m hoping I will be getting my truck back next week. It fun to see all of the improvements the next generation will be getting.
Can you confirm the underbody camera will be making it to production on the ZR2? I just built a ZR2 today, with my dealer, and it wanted me to add the Desert Boss package to get the underbody camera. He couldnt get a confirmation on if its standard on the ZR2.
My big negative is, no long box option. I currently have a 2018/Colorado 6” 2 “ long box and when I go to Home Depot or Lowes and get wood, I can barely get it into my long bed. The 5 foot bed would not work for me. I’ll hang on to my long box for now.
Do you know if there is a way to make auto stop be disabled by default when you start the vehicle, but still have the button work if you want to turn it on? I have a 2023 Blazer.
I love the blue which I have for the 2021 model but every vehicle I've owned which is like 3 now Chevy has been great for me never had any problems the z71 for new model is an amazing upgrade ordered the 771 nitro yellow with everything but sun roof
How long did you have each vehicle for and what was their approximate mileage. I’ve never owned a Chevy, always Toyota and my biggest deterrent is GM’s notoriety for poor manufacturing and unreliability

Start/Stop is the worst "feaure" ever placed into any vehicle ever
Absolutely agree evertime your engine restarts it wears little more more more
But it’s mandatory in most cars now because it keeps the city mpg above the EPA threshhold for the Gas Guzzler tax
If you pump break more then once come to stop it will stay running
Bypass that garbage.
After 3 years driving my gmc sierra I automatically hit the deactivate button every time I get in and start it, occasionally I forget it, but it only shuts off once till I remember it. I did hear of an aftermarket switch that will deactivate it automatically every time you start.

Just a shame LT and above are over 40k if you want a few options like power lumbar support.
@@tomm1109 agreed. But to get these options in an off road full size truck? Minimum $70k now. And I’m probably shooting low.

same here. I like it.
The tailgate only dropping part way is so it lines up with the wheel wells and you can put a piece of plywood there and it lay flat.
Imo the tailgate measuring marks seemed pointless…until I realized they’re perfect for spacing your mower/ATV ramps perfectly
Hopefully they offer some sort of interior upgrade package to that Trailboss, I love the way it looks, can’t handle the low budget interior
I want to get that speaker in the tail gate for mine, I haven’t seen any other videos of it, I wonder what it cost!😊

I haven’t seen ANYTHING as good as the Colorado Duramax diesel ( Isuzu ) in ZR2 trim. My big negative is, no long box option. I currently have a 2018/Colorado 6” 2 “ long box and when I go to Home Depot or Lowes and get wood, I can barely get it into my long bed. The 5 foot bed would not work for me. I’ll hang on to my long box for now.
No more Bose option? Haven’t seen it anywhere
They don’t look bad, in all honesty I think the Gmc canyon looks good too
Do you know if there is a way to make auto stop be disabled by default when you start the vehicle, but still have the button work if you want to turn it on? I have a 2023 Blazer.
I love the blue which I have for the 2021 model but every vehicle I've owned which is like 3 now Chevy has been great for me never had any problems the z71 for new model is an amazing upgrade ordered the 771 nitro yellow with everything but sun roof
The raising the tail gate is to keep it even with the wheels good for wood or drywall
How long did you have each vehicle for and what was their approximate mileage. I’ve never owned a Chevy, always Toyota and my biggest deterrent is GM’s notoriety for poor manufacturing and unreliability
Good job Mike, subscribed
Can you get it without the big screen TV sticking out of the dash?
Amazing truck definitely would buy one if I didn’t need a larger vehicle
