Why is this vid always playing every time i wake up lol
Right?
I've woken up to this sooo many times
Same lol
So it’s not just me hmmm
Me too
Holy throwback. I’ve always wanted to watch the full episode of this build.
Love watching these videos late at night. Has a basic cable vibe but still very enjoyable to watch. Feels like hour long info-mercials are about to come on after
It's a throwback to my childhood watching Powerblock on Sunday mornings.
I love that this looks and sounds like it was filmed 20 years ago for tv
Um, it was. :)
They referred to the 1979 as a 30 year old truck, so I'm guessing this was circa 2009.
“We build trucks on a budget just like you would at home!” *has 10 award winning car builders attack the truck body*
😂
The way this is produced i genuinely cant tell if this is from 2008 or 2023, i love it!
2009
That dodge dash was mint, sure as hell not 2023😂
Same here but just assumed I couldn't tell because I'm old
This show is like 20 yrs old

I fell asleep watching continuous play UA-cam. Woke up to y'all doing a Frankenstein on a a Ford/ Dodge. WTH? Y'all do great work. Love the color. Those prep guys you brought in are tops. Holy jeez. The finish on that truck is outstanding.
"Wow, what a fascinating project! Mixing a '70s Ford Crew Cab with a Dodge Cummins Turbo Diesel Chassis is a brilliant blend of classic style and modern power. The craftsmanship and attention to detail in this build are truly impressive.
Modern power? This episode is like 20 years old.
@@Cultofpersonality09129 were they supposed to time travel to your modern or would you realize that when they made the video it was modern? They put a 2009, which was modern, in a 1970... the original comment was correct
I grew up watching this build, and seeing the full build in you tube, got me excited
Glad they finally made a full build video of this truck👍
Me too I thought I this project was dropped. I have been wondering about it, since it's conception.
Putting a six-shooter in an old Ford is perfect. The best of both companies.
I had a 2014 Ram 3500HD with the 6.7 Cummins with the Aisin 6 speed automatic, crew cab, long bed, and it was single rear tire. It was a 9300 lb truck with me in it, and I towed a 36' flatbed gooseneck trailer in it. I was EXTREMELY hard on that truck as I used it to haul equipment in the oilfield with it in the West Virginia/Pennsylvania/Ohio tri-state area, so it got beaten up on the hills and mountains. I put 195,000 miles on it in a year and a half and the only real issues I had was when reverse went out in the transmission, and I shattered the front diff in 4WD low trying to rock the truck and trailer out of a mud pit that I accidentally sank into on a dirt road in the Allegheny Forest. Those were both repaired under warranty though. I really loved that truck. It hauled over 35,000 lbs for hours long trips on many occasions without a single issue. It gained alot of respect from me. I never even had the change the batteries.
Wow you didn't have to change the batteries in a year and a half... Amazing
You must be bored.
The big tow mirrors are a MUST!! Those little bitty mirrors look terrible. The rest of the build looks awesome! Great work!
i agree they need camper mirrors
It's pure laziness. Dave at kindig It design doesn't put mirrors on anything and it looks like a human being It looks like a head without ears. In this case it looks like a full grown adult with baby ears looks so stupid
Wish I could afford tow mirrors for my camper van $vanlife2023
I agree. First thing I noticed when it was test driven. Building a dually tow rig with street rod mirrors is by far the dumbest decision and done purely or aesthetics.
@@coreybabcock2023 get some add on tow mirrors they cheap as, they have all sorts of sizes for people that just put on there car while they gunna be towing a caravan and then can take em off and u back to just factory mirrors
I can't press thumbs up enough on this!!! This truck turned out really well done!
Who's budget the U.S. military?
The other signature build from Ryan and Kevin. This thing came out absolutely immaculate.
Love the blue and grey colors.
These guys are so funny and likable! God bless these talented fellas!
If I had the money, I would purchase the truck in a heartbeat! I Love the body style. Sweet! Thanks for this build.❤
Do what my wife and I did. Build one like it, with your vision of an end result.
95 Ram 3500 donor vehicle, and a an OBS K 2t00, 92 extended cab gas model. Built our ultimate tow rig, for our shop. Also strp capable.
And I did a.lot of the body work from a wheelchair, or my prosthetic leg, eith the chair behind me as a safety, or plan B. Lost the right one, a week after we got the chasis back from powder coating, and the engine and trans back from the machine shop. Was back to the shop the day after I was sent home to the driveline back in it, as a roller, and the body in primer, after getting soda blasted, revealing dents, like it was a driving range target, AKA , ball picker.
Wife worked from the top down, I got the bottom, with the service dog supervising. From the office, of course. They don't male N 95 masks for pets.
Was finished this spring..
I still, after two amputations, don't think of myself as disabled. That's a state of mind, and a person's level of determination to get back to a normal life. It's lead me to one conclusion.
The pnly thing that will ever stop me Is Me. And why I say this to you now.
Who's stopping You?
Go out, and pick up some yard art, and a marketplace wreck, and build what you want.
It's an Easter miracle. I've got 3 hours of entertainment to watch.
I enjoyed the video , lot of useful information. I remember reading a article in a magazine about the introduction of the 5.9 cummins to a Dodge and I told my Dad back then , he bought one I. Decatur in a couple days . I had no idea who did the first prototype. As for the brakes I got a 95 4x4 I doing the 3rd generation front brakes with a 2001 front axle . Your right about the chev rear wheel cylinders. I did the hydrobooster system and it helped braking . You might at some point consider a exhaust brake. Also give the engine some timing say 17 or 18 deg . That helped my 95 get a lot better mileage.. As far as towing may be installed a set of air bags on the rear also. I installed a g56 in my truck and replaced a burned up 47rh. Don't regret that a bit .. Your build is really nice a lot of talent went into this .
Wow, imagine so many well experienced minds all busting their butts to make this truck the very best that it can possibly be. The final product shows how much love and expertise went into this build. I used to watch these shows (along with all of the weekend morning fishing shows) on TNN and I always enjoyed them. It's always awesome to see these entire builds posted in a full length video.
true. i wonder where this truck is now

I'm a Dodge guy, but I would have used the Cummins power train and picked up a Ford F250/350 chassis. The Ford chassis ride and handle better than the Dodge.
Dent sides are my favorite body style, and 79 with the rectangle head lights is the best look.
Didn't the headlights change in 78? The dent sides look really good in 2 tone to, I think.
@@mikewmt22 Early 78s were round headlights, late year switched to square.
I bought a new Ford in 78 that had the rectangle head lights. This was a Ranger model with two tone paint. A buddy bought a basic Custom model which came with the round lights. In 79 they all had rectangular lights.
The family’s excitement over going to Disneyland was crazier than she anticipated.
That's so awesome that you put a 70's ford crew cab on to a Dodge Turbo diesel chassis.
I was looking for this episode a year or two ago. I have a 24 valve dually. Every body panel is beat but the frame is rust free and the 5.9 Cummins is stock and runs great. I’m going to start looking for a dent side.
you should post videos on your progress if you do something like this. i think the key here is to find a cab that fits (well) and flat bed it or something so you really only need to worry about the front wheels falling into the wheel wells.
Nice, did a #Dentside on a 99-04 ford lightning 2nd gen. Since mine is pre-emission registered it 5 year plates really cheap.
Can't believe how good of shape that 97 Dodge was. Here in Ontario Canada you will never find one that clean They're not even that clean after the 1st Winter.
Kevin looks good with that heavy chain! Now just send it off to have it gold plated and hang a Cadillac hubcap off it ! Totally Gangsta!!
I've watched this 4x now it never gets old watching you customize an old king cab.
Awesome sheetmetal team.
Blue north, great south. Gotta figure in a civil war analogy! Love it
Smiling!
Got a 86 Ford F-150 4x4 that is in good shape, this gives me the want to fix her up.
good work guys
You can buy a new diesel truck for the price of this nonsense. This is like 2010 Bruh.
Used to watch these guys on tv back in the day
I would love to see this truck now! I wonder how it held up? What kind of problems they had out of it over the years.
Watched that build on tv.... took a long, long time
My husband has been a mechanic for 25 years and he hasn't found anything in a bottle that will fix a leak
Brake fluid does the same thing !
@@bryanfranks1378 that is just putting a band aid on the problem
Damn bro this is an oldie how have I not seen it tho lol
I use to watch this show on TV Sunday mornings as a kid for entertainment and here I am as an adult learning tips from the same show
Love watching this come together! This is honestly so amazing. I wish I lived closer. I'd love to pick your brain about this platform!
Is it just me...or does the colour of that hoist match the Truck perfectly??? TTMYGHMMMM!!!!
Is it a Dodge or a Ford, neither it's a FORGE F3500 . Just awesome !
This is my favorite build wonder where it is today
After being auctioned off, Im sure it has changed ownership and someone who bought it had to perform repairs. They most likely started digging into it and thought, what the hell is this thing? Probably been scrapped by now.
Love seeing experienced professionals at work. Make it look easy. Good work!
You make it look so easy! 😎
I love the interior, there is none of the crap they put in today's truck just simple and clean.
I wish they would have placed the dually fenders low enough to keep the upper body trim and slapped on tow mirrors. Still a kick ass build.
You fellas are absolute mad scientist. Great job.
Will always have memories of 840. It probably still sucks to drive during rush hour but its a really chill road to cruise on.
I don't know how you guys don't have millions of subscribers.. this is about the best custom car mods channel...
Incredible transformation, greetings from Mexico!!
Super awesome details and wisdom that I will always go back to so 3 hours 3 comments it looks but every day every day driving quick breaking transition ease of use for every day that's the work horse. Is it easy does it brake with ease does things lock up is the proportioning valve on the money.Having a welder on board or some type of tool box also you can go bigger wipers.A tablet in the middle console why not or the bottom half. Love the show and seeing you guys still there going strong you are the right guys for the job.
I always say, a good paint job is 90% preparation and 10% application.
I'm using a 2001 rear end out of a Dodge ram 1500 four-wheel drive putting it into a two-wheel drive 98 Dodge ram 1500 is there a difference
It boggles my mind to see the work you have taken on but every bit you do fits in like a complicated jigsaw. Well done keep it up fantastic job

Not a Dodge it's a Cummins Engine. Dodge purchases them from Cummins.
Amazing, awesome, love it. Thank you guys!
I have a 1995 Dodge cummins with a zf6 manual transmission, and I love it.
So you have a dodge truck with a Cummins engine put into it from factory
Yea I saw a article in the forums and I bookmarked it where this was done with a tc out of a 6 4 electric shift. I like the overdrive ratio of I think .72 ..I saved the article because I may wat to do that some time. . My 95 has a g56 with the Val air dual disc and a bm short shifter . Fort Worth differintal and gear went through the transmission before I installed it . I did not know it could be done with a kit back when I started this adventure. Glad you like the transmission.
I think yall single handedly created a new lane in the Motorsport industry with the snow rail.

Beautiful truck, driver fender blue looks like its 1 coat short but thatss minor in the big picture. Great job to all involved.
Well this isn't how i planned on spending a Saturday evening, but great video!
Long ago, I bought a used 1968 Pontiac StratoChief, a plain brown 4 dr sedan with a bench seat, stunningly having been equipped with a 325 HP chevy 396, backed with a Muncie M21 4-speed manual! Best sleeper ever!
I've swapped pickup bodies from different years and different makes a number of times. One thing I disagree with is how they started at the rear by installing the box and then they had to deal with fine tuning the axle and fender opening locations at the front.
It is much easier to shift the rear axle location than to shift the front wheel locations so I always started at the front and finished off by adjusting the rear axle location at the end.
Edit: Wow, that turned into a HUGE job (I wrote the above after watching about 30 minutes). The attention to detail and finished product is impressive!
Around here older 2wd trucks are almost worthless, so what I've done is buy a freshly painted 2wd pickup and swapped the body to a 4wd. None of my swaps have required anywhere near this level of customization.
Ralphie from Sleeper Dude 88 would wear that Ford necklace to school. I'm not joking.
I liked the preparation so fabulous. When you put the contact on the temperature needle exceeds 50% it will be normal I suppose because of the displacement. Enjoy! Incredible work. 👍💪☕
Very slick hybrid machine. That voiceover, music.and recaps every 7 minutes really dates the otherwise timeless how to piece.
So clean
It's just so cool to witness how far we have come in the auto world of custom builds and taking what our minds build and turning it into real life work of pure genius and giving vehicles another chance to ride the roads they were born built to ride, if only they could talk, smile or brag , I know we would hear so many cool stories straight from them, of the times they all had with different owners and doing different times of there life, ...
A truly amazing machine gents should be proud
78 and 79 Ford F 150 -F250 and F350 hands down one of the best looking trucks built.
Had a 78 and 79 f150 and a 79 Bronco. Liked my 86 F250 better.
Enjoyed watching, turned out to be a nice truck.
Beautiful truck! I'd like to do something like this with a mid 70s Dodge crew cab dually but use a 6v53t Detroit instead.
I laughed when they said something about this being a "budget build" . The amount of work, precision, and all of the details is amazing. Great job and beautiful finish.
It would've helped if they stated what their "budget" was, which looks like it was in the $100K range.
@@ProfessionalDriver10150k at most 10 years ago when this first aired probably less.
I came to the comments to point that out too lol "budget" for a TV network doesn't fit the same definition for the rest of us
@@ProfessionalDriver101 At the $100 an hour shops charge, $100k seems close.

Great show! Beautiful truck. I think a great name for it would have been Fordged Steel Super Dually. 😜👍🏼
I used to drive a mildly modified 97 3500 ext cab 4x4 dodge dually for a previous employer, that thing was a beast.
"kind of hard to find" is an understatement. That's a one of a kind😍
Cost then: ~50k. Cost now: 3.4B.
Badass truck wow. 😍
You guys sure built a cool truck enjoyed the full 3 hours ❤
Thank you for making this video I really wanna do the same thing you have with this build and see all the national parks in America. Cheers friend
If my old truck could talk, I would turn down the radio, and just drive listening to my truck tell me cool stories it remembers through out the years,
I actually think it looked better in the black primer . Cool truck though!!
Trucks! / G & G, having watched many of your cool truck projects, I can easily say that I think this one is the overall best, coolest looking and best functioning truck you have EVER done. No doubt you will thoroughly enjoy driving it for the show, showing it off and telling people about it and hauling a lot of American Iron cool projects with it. I would gladly own, drive and take care of that truck...it is the Mack Daddy daily driver and tow rig diesel truck, hands down. Well done guys!

That Truck Is A Dream. Love to own one
Just some cool ideas from your fan Tallie wills thanks for all you guys do ..
I can remember a diesel pickup in Wenatchee in the 60's. I thought it rediculous having a truck engine in a pickup. I thought the engine was one of those 7 liter jobs, not realizing he could get 20 miles to the gallon when cruising the Ave. What made it rediculous was the 18 wheeler sound coming from the front and rear of this playtoy, not realizing how practical it really was.
Great build, there's a ton of skill put into this rig.
