It doesn't matter what trim level you get or brand of vehicle you get, everything in 2023 should have full led lighting front and back and interior! No excuses at this point.
The Trail Boss is priced very reasonably. If it proves to be reliable its definitely worth the price, its kind of a bargain I would say. The big IF is reliability.
Well, at least the Tacoma has a manual parking brake. I’m sick of these electric brakes that they’re putting on these vehicles. They are not proven and they do fail.
I think with this new generation Colorado is well worth buying. The Nitro Yellow pops in the sunlight, the Z71 and ZR2 along with the Trail Boss are badass. Turn signals should be LED and another zonk is the hard plastic interior pieces. Thanks Joe and Lori for the video👍👍
15MPG 4 cylinder mid-sized truck costing nearly $45k out the door. 10" wider than the previous generation and nearly 500lbs heavier. What's not to love? I may order one today.
I’ve been doing a lot of truck searching recently as I plan on getting a new truck this summer. Based off of this review alone, I think this years Colorado might have become my front runner for what I get over the summer. Seems like a really good truck now after the redesign!
@@WhosthatTeamAFC I did! I actually ended up going with the GMC Canyon, just simply because the truck had some features as stock that the Colorado didn’t have. Like the most powerful engine, the additional of a heads up display, and some other things that I can’t think of right now. Me personally, I’d just say go with what suits your need for the truck best. I choose mine because it was a good combination of decent gas mileage and still able to tow and haul things when I need to do it and all.
Great review. I was leaning toward a new Tacoma but I am definitely checking the Colorado out based on your review. The only thing that worries me is the fact I will need a computer science degree to operate the cameras and other features on this truck.
I have been waiting for this review! This truck looks like its going to be super competitive and the one to get within the midsize truck segment. The GMC Canyon also looks awesome! Excited to see you go on throttle!
The trail boss has the most appeal for looks and price in my opinion but the lack of LED lightning is inexcusable in 2023. Should be the standard on every vehicle at this point.
Disagree. Halogens in a good housing are completely adequate, have a better color refractive index, are easier and cheaper to buy and replace, and won't blind other drivers. They also melt off snow and ice.
@coltonwood9846 halogens are complete trash. As someone who has them I can testify to this. My wife's car has led and her visibility is hands down better in every way possible. If a car or truck still comes with halogens it's definitely a cheap move on the automaker part when it seems like most vehicles now come standard with LED headlights.
It’s worth noting that while you will have to go to the center screen to override the automatic headlights. There is a dedicated screen button for the headlights that isn’t buried. It’s that little light icon in the top left corner. Edit: time 18:11
Definitely a good way to start a Friday morning, I will say this truck looks so good and that color is so freaking awesome. I’m kinda liking the way this one looks vs last model.
Chevy nailed this truck. This video has settled my choice on my next truck between the midsizes. Price point was even better than expected. Thanks for another awesome and thorough review!
The cool part about this Colorado and some of the lesser engine tune options. Is that it seems like Chevy is offering the high output option for the Trailboss and Z71 options. The best part is that it will be covered under Chevys warranty program. It's not going to add as much power as a aftermarket tune but extra tq is never a bad thing in a truck.
@@stavroslask1292 The Silverado seems to be doing fine. It also seems to have less problems than the V8's as well. Despite 2.7t running the AFM and the the V8's running DFM. The 2.7t seems to be lasting longer.
Thank you Joe and Lori for taking us on the journey with you. Wow what a truck! Looks absolutely badass and to be honest i would have not given the previous gen Colorado or Canyon a second glance. The Nitro Yellow reminds me of the Tiger Eye Yellow on an Acura model you reviewed a while back - love the color. I agree with you on the zonks regarding the antennae and especially the lack of physical buttons for the lighting (wtf were they thinking..) All in all this seems like a great truck and not a compromise between the full size models. Also agree the Colorado badging could have been black. Looking forward to your review of the ZR2!

I have a 2020 Silverado RST, with everything you can just about get in it including the 6.2L, sunroof, heated seats, backup camera, running boards, hard tri-fold cover, advance/max trailering package. It’s a great truck, love it, but after watching this video it’s got me thinking of downgrading to the Z71 because it seems like you get more bang for your buck in terms efficiency and equipment in the Colorado then I get in my current truck. Great video!! Keep the good work!! Thank you doing a Street/off road test in the two truck trims I’ve been looking at.
I think the 2.7L turbo 4 is perfect for the Colorado/Canyon. The Silverado/Sierra? Not so much. Overall, I think GM did a great job with this redesign.
Hi I agree about the zonk with the headlight control not being a knob or button, however if you press on the the gold/yellow color headlight icon on the top of the infotainment screen you can turn the lights to Off,Auto,Parking,Headlight .For Fog lights you do have to go into the controls menu and bring up the headlights menu screen.Great job to you and Lori on this video 👍.
This Chevy Colorado Joe is my favorite mid size trick so far! Love the colors. So many upgrades. Just don't like the placement of Colorado badge. Can't wait to see when the. Cant wait to see when the Canyon media drive is coming!
I have been the only owner of my 2016 tacoma trd off road and been thinking of up grading. Toyota really has some work to do with the tacoma. I hope Toyota comes out with the new version of the tacoma before the end of the year. This chevy is really tempting! Price, looks, and tech are on point! Is it perfect, no. Absolutely stunning new pickup, I’ve been stoked ever since I first saw it released but one thing I’m confused about is why Chevy is saying it’s the first time they’re offering a sunroof in the Colorado. Maybe this wasn’t the case for them back in the 1st gens which ran from 05-11 I believe but my 05 GMC Canyon is equipped with a sunroof which was a $1000cad option back then if anyone was at all curious lol. Just seems a little strange cause it’s far from the first time. Not sure why they removed them in the 2nd gen but glad to see their return

I appreciate the review. After seeing this, I have decided against the LT. While cheaper, you get a lot more with the Z71 and its not that much more money.
Great looking truck, nice interior, sounds like revving power drill 👎 and you can feel the turbo lag when he accelerated. Probably a great truck and for most people the engine set up is fine, but for me to go from a full size to mid, that ain’t going to cut it. But I'm pretty sure I'm not the consumer being targeted.
Always good to watch a Riati’s Rides presentation on a new offering. Did James Brown get called the hardest working man in show business? I think so. Well now it can be the Riati’s Rides crew. Thanks for the Twinkies.

I, a Chevy guy it’s nice to see a different looking front, they used that car like looking front way to long also ive never seen ONE of these trucks on the road
Dude what’s with the reliability issues? Can you prove that reliability is a problem rather just stating it? Like actual numbers that prove that Chevys are just constantly breaking down in record numbers? Currently have a 13’ Silverado running 175k miles. Not a single problem. Really depends how you maintain your vehicle. Tired of reading these comments. ALL manufacturers have their recalls/defects from whence they produce a new vehicle and fixes issues as times go on. Not a single company is perfect.
For $41K+ it needs to include interior & exterior led lights. You not being a small guy standing next to this truck, it almost looks like a full size truck.

I can tell you now without hesitation I would not touch a GM, Ford, or Chrysler product in this day and time.
This looks like a winner! Anxiously awaiting the ZR2 review.
I appreciate the review. After seeing this, I have decided against the LT. While cheaper, you get a lot more with the Z71 and its not that much more money.
Finally a working infotainment screen! First time I’ve seen it not in demo mode on this truck. Great review as always!
Yes it is.
Looks great man, I've had a '05 Colorado and an '16 Colorado, this will be my next purchase once I get the kid out of high school!
Nice. I really like the sculpted design. Thank you for the video.
I would option this truck exactly like this Joe hands down!
You have great taste!
Always good to watch a Riati’s Rides presentation on a new offering. Did James Brown get called the hardest working man in show business? I think so. Well now it can be the Riati’s Rides crew. Thanks for the Twinkies.
Thanks means the world Franz.
I like trucks but don’t necessarily have a need for all the capabilities. I’ve been eyeing the Ridgeline and now I’m sold on the Colorado 😍
Good job Chevy…….except for headlight thing. I kind of like the sister better…….gmc canyon…..especially interior.
Thanks Joe and Lori ! 👍
Very good point Tom! Thanks for letting us bring it to you!
I love this color! Lookin' forward to the zR2!
Stay tuned
Does it look like it’d fit a 6’3 person?
Yes for sure!
I cannot wait to place my order for a new Z71 Colarado !!
Heck yeah!
You're having a competition with friends you can measure right here. You crack me up, Joe!
Thanks for letting me share the laughs and the trucks with you!
Hate the big fingerprint screen. Need to have either a two door or a king cab/extra cab. Bummer... Really wanted a Colorado truck. Guess I'm still stuck with Nissan.
Zonk those turn signals for sure!! I agree, in 2023, ALL lights should be LED.
I, a Chevy guy it’s nice to see a different looking front, they used that car like looking front way to long also ive never seen ONE of these trucks on the road
I love it chevrolet new Colorado trail boss best one look good real true and Joe and Lori and keep up the good work and I love the video lot 💯💯💯💯👍
You are the man Dominic! Thanks brother!
Great review and truck! I’ll be waiting for the GMC Canyon review next 😊
The looks of these trucks were not a problem. It’s the reliability that matters!!!!prefer manual switches for the lights.
I think you will be blown away with what Chevy has done durability wise with this engine
When’s the last time you touched your lights switch? Leave it in auto and forget it. This is a little nit picky.
@@ethenjordan2010 i actually touch them a lot.
You can really hear the turbo whistle
Love this dudes reviews
I love this golden 💛 yellow colour
I am so glad!
Love the red from the auto show and this yellow one but 40k for Half a Truck is nuts.
Love the new styling!
They really knocked it out of the park.
Great review Mr. R! I wonder if GM will offer their 3.0 Duramax diesel in this truck~ if it will fit the combination would be magical
I’d take the Trail Boss over the Z71. But I’d be tempted to step up to the ZR2. Not the Desert Boss though.
I know how you feel!
@@darthstrukt Big time!
That turning light should have been LED for the price! I refuse to pay for a newer vehicle that doesn't have up to date lightning!
I totally agree with you Oscar.
