Lack of cruise control. Back in 2000 I bought this 98 Dakota. Awesome truck, great truck, it was the best truck. Short bed single cab 318 V8 4x4. I could get that sucker sideways on dry pavement. The thing did not have cruise control.. Never again!
I think that’s a pretty honest and fair assessment Andre that takes into account both your own needs not being met by this size vehicle and also the service issues the truck presented. That mixture seems realistic for most of us …we buy a vehicle with enthusiasm and over time that enthusiasm is either validated or wanes and usually its not one massive failure its a collection of experiences and elements that again either erode or validate our decision.
Further extending your oil change interval is bad advice. You don't want to push your oil to the limit. You want to change it when it is still good to make sure you always have oil that is maximally lubricating your engine.
While I agree, and 9k seems too long to me, if a specialty lab analysis is saying the oil is still good at 9k, it's still good. No point to extend too far tho. except to save a little money over time.
I'm happy with my 23 Trail Boss. I don't mind the sound because it's actually quiet -I was pretty amazed that it's quieter than our car. Nice to see it looks like it held its value pretty well too. I would only move from this to a full size, but just can't justify the $60k prices. There's currently no way to get a vehicle not loaded with electronics, so getting rid of it for that is a wash IMO.
@@VortexArcade I hear you on the full size truck. I've been looking, I found that 2 or 3-year-old f-150s with around 30k miles can be found around 40K pretty easily. That's what I would do, an XLT with four-wheel drive and a rear locker.
I’ve had my ‘23 Trail Boss Colorado since June of 2023. I’ve had absolutely no problems! Been doing my oil changes and tire rotation every 5k miles. I had very few minor glitches in the beginning but after the software update this year, I’ve had absolutely no issues. I get about 26mpg on the highway and 19-20 in the city. Love my truck! I do have cruise control 😉
I bought a 2022 GMC pro model work truck single cab short bed with the 2.7 engine the same time that TFL bought the Ram Stubby. It is loaded with options and I paid about the same as TFL did for Stubby. 2 years later and at 25,000 miles I am still in love with the truck for my dailey work truck. 1961 Lbs of pay load and it only wieghs 4600 Lbs. It is pretty quick and delivers around 20mpg every tank. It has more front seat interior room than any other truck you can buy and that makes it a great daily driver. I think Andre would like the new Ram RHO.
I’m at 14k on my 2024 Trailboss. No issues what so ever. Coming from a 2017 Ram, I can appreciate the smaller size. It’s as big as most old school full size pickups. Mine came with cruise and in 2024 it came with the upgraded power. My only complaint is the “tech” is slightly annoying, and it could use a better “tune” for quicker shifting (but who is drag racing and Colorado)
The '97 civic manual I had bought new didn't have cruise. It was a dx, so it didn't have power steering, locks, or windows. Parking lots were annoying back then. 😄
So did my manual 1995 4Runner that had a cable driven throttle body. I mean this is literally some computer software(which is probably already in the PCM, just deactivated) and some silly buttons on the steering wheel. The throttle body is electronically controlled by the PCM. Its completely savage that its not standard.
I purchased a 2020 Colorado z71 in early 2020 and had no reliability issues, but I could not stand that 8 speed transmission. I sold it at 100k miles and went with a Nissan Titan pro 4x which I put 27k miles on in the last year, and I'm very happy with. I never go past 5k miles on oil changes and never will.
@oceancochran6706 I was looking at used colorados 16-17 model Years. After doing a bunch of research I ended up getting a super clean 2013 frontier prox4. It has 130,000 miles, all maintenance records and was definitely well taken care of. No regrets!
@@pathunter7003 The Titan is the same size as any other 1500 truck. Nissan doesn't make anything bigger but if a Titan is too small for you then you need to be in a 2500+.
I also bought a 2023 colorado trail boss. I optioned mine out with all the packages and at 22,000 miles I haven't had a single issue (delivery was August 2023). I think skipping out on those packages is a huge mistake. Mine came in at 41ish and I did have to wait a full three months on order when I purchased it. Its not the perfect truck and there are some options I wish were available. I don't need a ZR2 and I wouldn't want a Z71. Chevy could have easily got 44-45k out of me for some interior comforts. With that said I think this is a great truck but it's not for everyone. It has 300ish hp but it doesn't feel or sound like it so on that I completely agree with Andre. The biggest thing I hear is about this being the budget overlander and the off road ability. I would tell anyone wanting to go that route to save up and seriously consider the ZR2.
Basically you're selling it because you want something different, not because this truck isn't capable or functional enough. That is a very fair reason to replace a car.
Great review. I have a 24 Canyon AT4 that has enough bells and whistles but has no garage door opener. Whoever heard of that? 2 big issues for me at 4500 miles are the oil canning on the roof and the thing idles for 30 seconds at 1500rpm before it starts to calm down. The oil canning was supposed to be fixed for '24 but trust me it's not. The idling is driving me crazy, if you put it in gear at 1500 rpm you better have your foot firmly on the brakes. I will be taking it in for both issues soon but I'm sure the dealer will say just live with it.
The high cold idle is an emissions thing, trying to get heat in the cats as quickly as possible. There's nothing the dealer is going to be able to do for it.
@@danieljohnson4418 I totally agree! I just got my Hyundai and as you know they aren’t known for being the most reliable I took it for its first oil change at 4,900 miles and the service people didn’t want to do it because it’s supposed to be done at 7500 I argued with them until they did it.
Hey Andre I bought a 24 canyon Denali and it had so many problems, I decided to also sell mine back to gm. Traded for a 24 Sierra 1500. Happy to talk about it with you. cheers!
I would suggest to change oil at 5K miles due to fuel dilution if you plan to keep a vehicle a long time and want the engine to hold up. The way Andre trades trucks so often, it doesn’t matter.
Also depends how you drive. I had my oil tested in my Ranger (2.3 EB) after 8,000 miles and it said I was still good. So its easy enough for me to stick to Easter and Thanksgiving.
@@rightwingsafetysquad9872 100%. People who drive their turbo motors as grocery getters and short trip vehicles, or idle them a lot, need to be more diligent with oil. I honestly think this was probably a major reason why the first gen 3.5L Ecoboost had so many issues with timing chain stretch. If you are putting down lots of high speed highway and towing then I actually think you can be a bit more relaxed because you are getting the oil hot for extended time and keeping moisture and gas out.
I don't have an issue changing a turbo engine every 5,000 mi but on a naturally aspirated engine I've always changed the oil at 15,000 mi with no issue.
If you put your truck in tow mode it'd been different results in that race most people don't realize by keeping the tow mode off it's much like turning on the overdrive button on a late 80s or 90s car or truck or putting your vehicle in rain mode by leaving the tow mode off your loosing initial power to the rear wheels & using less emissions if you leave tow mode on it shifts better keeps the transmission cooler & doesn't restrict low end torque the only time I'd shut tow mode off is on highway or in rain or snow etc most people don't realize this
@@hunterm4188 I have no idea huh holding the gear longer increases rpms increasing 0-60 times it increases pressure to the transmission as well as increases cooling & in most cases it will produce engine brake preventing once letting off the gas so you don't have to use your brakes very often check your facts before acting like you know all & declaring facts as dumbest thing you ever heard facts are not dumb though people sometimes are
I recently bought a 2024 ZR2 Bison , it’s been an excellent truck for my needs . It’s a great truck as far as I’m concerned and I have no regrets or complaints. I knew what it was when I bought it. I traded in a 2024 RTR Spec 2 Mustang. I have had a ton of different Mustangs and never owned a Chevy . The power of this truck is pretty strong for what it is , it has plenty of torque and enough power for everyday driving. I’ve experienced high horsepower cars and I cannot tell you one time on public roads that I used a 1/3 of the power. So horsepower to me is irrelevant. I don’t wanna lose my license or go to jail 😂 Is it the best truck to pull something with of course not . Is it capable off road , absolutely. The interior is nice and it looks very aggressive on the outside. It’s leaps and bounds better than a Ranger Raptor in my opinion and the Ranger Raptor is what I set out to buy . I just couldn’t get past the red accents on the interior and the vertical screen . Sure it has a V6 but doesn’t matter to me . The power is irrelevant since I’m not racing and the Bison has just as much torque. The Bison is just a better truck as far as I’m concerned.
Same here, wanted to love the RR but the screen and a few other quirks turned me off to it. Bought a ‘24 AT4X and love almost everything about it. It has more than enough power, speed and capability to get into as much trouble with as I want.
The powerboost is the best truck ive seen on this channel. I was super suprised when Andre wensizid size. I see him going back to a hd the next go around
There's already a handful of content creators that have bought a 3.0L Duramax and done their long term ownership review on them. BTBRV and Tim at Pickup Truck and SUV Talk are two I know of.
I've enjoyed learning about your Colorado for the past year. It caught my attention when shopping for my current 2020 F150. I've been a fan of TFL ever since. Chevy/GM was my number one brand for more than 25 years, but I really loved the room and comfort of the 2011 F150 I purchased about 5 years ago. I'm a big guy, over 6'2" tall and lived with smaller vehicles for years because that's what I could afford. Your insight and experience has been so valuable to me. Thank you and I look forward to the next "new" Andre Truck!
To be fair these guys have been doing this for over a decade. Buying a short term vehicle to do videos and then sell them to get another vehicle. Aside from a few more prominent publications, these guys are among the first people to do that business model.
I have a 2019 GMC Canyon with the V6/309hp with 36k miles. I use it primarily to tow my 2000lb boat. I've towed from Michigan to SW Florida twice and have no issues. It has 20inch wheels and the ride is comfortable. Gas mileage is 22mpg without towing and about 14 mpg with towing. I don’t offroad. Overall, it has met all my expectations. Given the outrageous prices in today's truck market, I will keep this truck for the foreseeable future.
I first sat in the Colorado at an auto show. The thing that killed the Colorado for me were the front seats. I am 6’1 and felt extremely uncomfortable with the short seat cushion. What an easy fix and what a missed opportunity, I thought. Went to the Silverado and shockingly the seats were not much better. Good front seats only in the Ford 150/250 and the Ram’s. So people get bigger and taller and airline and drivers seats get smaller? I don’t understand it.
@@m9b7v5 I had a 2019 Ranger and loved it except for the Transmission shudder issue (which eventually got worse and was listed in a technical bulletin) I ended up replacing it with a 2024 Tacoma Limited.
@@SpicyEvo Just FYI, Tax Write-Offs don't give you back all of your money, its a small percentage of what you spent. If you're lucky enough to have enough write-offs to overcome the standard deduction, you just pay a little less tax that year. Its just something people say to justify an expense, but you certainly don't come out on top.
I personally would not go past 5,000 miles between oil changes especially with a turbo 4…. And of course a high quality full synthetic oil in the correct viscosity goes without saying…
Modern engines and oil aren't what they where 10 years or more ago. They design them to last. Though here a thing, most of them say something like 10K or once a year. Most of use are going to meet either one of them. You don't need to be changing it more than that. Your just waisting your money doing it more often unless you actually drive/off road it hard. That is a diffrent story but not some one that just a daily driver.
I loved the Colorado content! Your towing and off-road videos helped me decide to buy my ZR2. Over a year of ownership now and I love the truck and have had no major issues!
Doesn't seem like you have any solid complaints about the truck. You just want something different. You lost a drag race, the tires are getting loud, no telescoping steering and the engine doesn't sound like you wanted it to...
Great review, sir! It served you well. I lament the lack of 6 foot bed options on Ford and GM midsized trucks, so I won't buy them. Also, it's everyone's right regarding how they maintain their vehicles. However, I don't buy a used truck from anyone who can't document 5k or less oil changes. For folks who advocate long oil interval changes, they should keep their trucks about 150k and enjoy all those savings on their oil changes if they believe that behavior has no impact on powertain longevity.
It's all the electronic stuff around the rearview mirror that makes the sun visors short, I like older vehicles. No cruise control is a deal killer. Thanks 🙏
Time for a ram 1500 big horn with the straight six is what Andre’s gonna get. He likes the more bang for your buck trims to. He’s had a new Ford, Chev, now it’s Rams turn.
The ram hurricane i6 is under a stop sale. Not available to buy even if you have cash. You cant buy durangos as of today either. No 4xe. No ev chargers.
It was nice to hear your reviews on this truck. I was thinking about it buying one, but I’ve always been a big truck lover so I think I will stick with the big trucks. Thank you.
He sold the F150 fast because the value was still really good; the market began crashing shortly after he bought the Colorado, and he checked the used value a couple times over the last year and a half to see what he can get, but it was always too low to be willing to sell. It’s finally gotten to the point that the money he can make on videos for a new truck over more videos on the old truck is greater than the loss he takes for selling it and getting a tax write off.
I have a 2023 ZR2 and I love it. Yes, it's been to the shop a couple times for software related issues, but the August 2024 update seemed to clear everything up. Outside of software, reliability has been good so far, albiet only 9200 miles so far. I also have a full size 1 ton diesel that I use for real hauling, and daily drive the ZR2 because I like it, not because it's a highly capable truck. I would not buy another Colorado if it were my only truck either - it does not meet my needs in that way. It does, however function as a fun, enjoyable daily driver for me - can pick up a few things at the hardware store and gets around nicely, which is what I want for my daily.
it's a base model mid size pick up truck.. the only options you added was off-road and trailering kit.. I can see why a base model wouldn't have luxury features like cruise control, leather, sunroof, etc.. even the engine is the base model SO version vs the HO version that gives you 310/430. As a regular work truck for someone that doesn't want to spend much it's fine but if you need anything more, you need to upgrade. I have the GMC Canyon AT4X that comes with every option available for any vehicle. Love every minute of driving it.. super fun, super capable, and plenty of power for a midsize truck.. Would never look at a 1500 again..
I had a 2017 Colorado Z71. I got rid of it after I was told by the dealer that the factory had put the WRONG Trans fluid in it. I unloaded it withing 2 weeks of that admission. I loved the truck, it never did shift right. Mine was 3800 V-6.
Haven’t watched the video yet but here’s my experience so far. I have a 23 z71 and have had several problems. Another one popped up today and that’s why I started watching videos. My LF brake rotor is completely shot and grinding bad which is what started today. I’ve had at least 3 recalls so far. I also got a new phone 2 weeks ago and now the infortainment system is completely out of whack even after resetting and trying to start over. I was also unfortunate to be part of that failed over the air update that left everyone with a dead battery about 2 weeks after I got it. Not incredibly happy.
I second this statement particularly the SO version. There's a lot of videos of the HO version but it would be nice to see the SO and see some testing with that truck.
@@JasPlun I have a feeling Andre will. In a video where he was going over the new tradesman 1500 with the turbo 6, he was making it sound like that was the truck for him.
My dad was looking for a truck. He only uses it to carry tools, tree limbs, and tow a zero turn mower on an aluminum trailer on occasion. So most any truck can do those things fine enough. He was looking at midsize and 1/2 ton trucks, and I recommended he go with a 2025 Ram 1500 as the best to live with daily with room and a comfortable ride. For the '25 refresh, advanced safety features, parking sensors, adaptive cruise, and the 8.4 UConnect are now standard. I could not imagine not having cruise control on a modern vehicle. It was 42k out the door for a Tradesman in the metallic black, so I think it was a better value than the midsize trucks. And it has room for car seats when my parents have grandkids.
Very good review I agree with you. My 23 Colorado has had soft ware issues and still does after undergoing soft ware upgrades. I also can’t go to a car wash because the dryer fan will buckle the roof 😡
I change my oil every 5000kms (3000 miles) always have and always will going back to 1984. Never ever have had an engine fail and most of my vehicles get to between 250,000 and 500,000 kms before I trade them in on something else.
Mechanic for 40 years changing oil cheapest insurance available. Every 3,000 miles before any contamination occurs. Viscosity breakdown is not a problem particles suspended in fluid is your timing chains mortal enemy. Piston rings and bearing surfaces last longer. Fleet mechanic kept 12 overloaded Toyota pickups with beds removed and oversized boxes welded on. Owned by a guy who insisted on 3,000 mile intervals. Trucks lasted half million miles of abuse.h@@Hellenkeller777
I love my '24 trail boss. But, I had it towed to the dealership because the "power steering rack" locked up. My steering wheel was locked. This happened at 4800 miles. I see a recall coming because when the tech called GM tech support, they immediately told him to replace it. Now I sit and wait for the part to be shipped from NH, I'm in MI.
I have a new Explorer Active with the 2.3 and ten speed. I was very impressed at the torque it puts to the ground as well as the smooth shifting ten speed. That sold me on the car. Have never drag raced it. But three months and 3k miles later, its a peach! Love your reviews! Thank you!
5:37 "The Car Care Nut" has been in the business for years and recommends not following your manufacturer's recommendations for such long intervals. If you want to have an engine (especially hard working turbo engines) that last you for 200-300K miles, change the oil every 5k miles or every 6 months (due to fuel dilution, where gasoline slowly seep into the oil, diluting it), whichever comes first. Its "cheap insurance" to keep your engine running well over the long haul.
fuel dilution is only a problem if you are idling and short tripping a lot. Otherwise the oil gets hot enough to remove fuel and water. Don't remote start your truck in the winter and let it idle in the driveway for 20 minutes.
I wasn’t crazy about the color when you first purchased the truck, but it’s definitely grown on me. How do the Territory MT tires balance out? Is the highway drive smooth without the typical mud terrain noise?
I have a ‘23 Colorado ZR2 and absolutely love it. Personally, I feel it’s spacious enough for my needs and has any bell and whistle I could ask for. Love the truck
@WaffledMags the zr2 is the most useless option. The price you pay for the suspension bits you'll never use makes it a rip off. It does look good but the downgrade in towing really makes the zr2 useless.
@ they def don’t have a ton of storage. I don’t have my Denali anymore so I speak first hand too. Towing at 7500 is fine for most people. If you do construction or other things you would t even be considering a midsize anyways.
@@TheDreverend for day to day needs being a homeowner, the bed is plenty big enough and the cabin is also plenty of space (again for my needs). Not worried about towing, and I’ve taken it offroad. Super, super capable truck for life, fun and work. I think it’s all about personal needs, and my ZR2 definitely fit mine! It definitely looks great too, lol
I have a 2020 gladiator with almost 100k on the odometer. I change the oil and rotate the KO2’s every 6k miles religiously. The truck runs flawlessly and the tires have ~90k on them with still a little bit more meat to go.
There seriously is no excuse. Its all handled electronically anyways by the PCM. Aside from a few buttons on the steering wheel, there is no added cost.
Im hoping you purchase the new '25 Ram 1500 Warlock with the 3.0 Hurricane for a long term test rig. A lot of us are curious on how the SO Hurricane will do over all your tough testing.
Automotive and motorcycle channels that also feature their personal vehicles on the channel, for long term ownership reviews, rarely keep their rigs beyond two years. No one wants to watch videos on trucks that are 2,3,4 and 5 years old. People aren't interested in 2+ year old vehicle technology and innovations. The goal is to make interesting content that's fresh, no re-hash the same old truck for 5 years.
Oil meter is making an educated guess and the analysis is giving you facts. I guess it comes down to how much money you are willing to spend on oil changes.
This channel and hosts are quickly becoming detached from longtime viewers I’ve watched this channel from the early days and they kept both personal and business owned trucks much longer than they do now. I go back to the days when they were comparing the frontier to Tacoma TRD Baja.
I appreciate all of your input. At least you tried owning a mid sized truck so now your opinion is that much more accurate. I owned one vehicle that didn’t have cruise and that was my 1996 Chevy Corsica.
I custom ordered a ‘23 trail boss after watching Andre’s early videos. Got tech, towing, safety and convenience packages, spray in bed liner and remote start for just over $42k. At that price point the only thing comparable is a base pro 4x frontier. Good engine in that truck but a lot of electrical gremlins (far beyond updates to the android operating system) and Nissan seems to be on the way out beyond supplying cheap rental and fleet vehicles
I just Blackstone once every 2 years. They're top-notch, and I follow any advice they give! 2013 Honda crosstour ex 2.4l 225k. Zero issues ever, thankfully.
Even if my oil tested spectacularly, which I'm sure it would, I still change mine every 5k or earlier, and I use top shelf oil. Then again, I keep my vehicles Long past their prime til the wheels start to fall off, so I'm with them for the long term and maintain them above board. For people who buy vehicles but treat them like a lease, changing oil less frequently is a 'next guy' problem. It's not doing any favors on the engine for longevity at any rate.
Thanks for all your videos and for being so honest and transparent about this truck. I’m anxious to see what you get next. I downsized from a 2500HD Duramax to my Colorado V6, but thinking of getting a new Colorado for the extra torque. My 2017 Colorado 8-speed also shifts slowly, but that’s probably due to a torque management feature to preserve the life of the transmission.
I know what you mean about sound... I had a first generation 3.5 EcoBoost I bought brand new in 2012. I drove it for about 175,000 mi and 12 and a half years and decided to go ahead and trade it in and I got my new F-150 with the 5.0 and my god did I miss the V8 sound.
Hopefully the software issues resonate with GM. I know I've had a few issues. Just recently my HVAC system stopped functioning through the infotainment system despite it still working with the physical controls. The truck only needed an update but having to go into the dealer and spend 3 hours on my day off for a software update is annoying. I also had a major issue when I first bought it with the backup camera. There was a damaged harness underneath the passenger seat that was messing up the ground. The truck was throwing codes for the safety restraint system due to it too. Took 3 separate visits along with leaving the truck at the dealer until a GM engineer came out and diagnosed and repaired the issue. GM was only going to offer me 300 dollars in reward points for the inconvenience. Lastly, the spring to the latching mechanism to my fuel door was defective. Unbelievable. Mines a 24 as well so you would think these issues wouldn't necessarily be as widespread but they most certainly are. I think you're going to run into issues with any of the new trucks though since the new Tacomas have their own problems and Ford's have always been problematic. A coworker of mine has a 19 Ranger and the transmission crapped out on him after 40k miles.
Great assessment. I just traded in my 2.7 Bronco and the v6 sound and pull is intoxicating. The ford 4 banger seems no better. Older GMs engine offers made the colorado and canyon contenders but… with only a sewing machine… i got $5 cdn you’ll pick the RAM next.
I worked for GM for 10 year's... GM told workers...We are in the business of selling vehicles, not longevity....If we told buyers really how to change their oil, we wouldn't sell many vehicles because buyers would keep them 400,000+ miles.. Stay with your percentage meter...Oil changes are cheap compared to engine replacement....
I have a trail boss and change mine every 4k miles or so. Like you say, it’s cheap and with these being lifted, easy to crawl under there without even putting it in a jack
Automatic Transmission should equal cruise control. This is just them putting basic features into higher cost trim levels to make buyers pay more for features that cost almost NOTHING to install.
The old-school "shade tree" mechanic in me (who also worked in Ford's Diagnostic Development Lab) tells me to never go beyond 5,000 miles on an oil change. One of my cars has an oil analysis capability similar to your Colorado and it's maybe the best way to track oil condition. I live in San Diego, CA - the easiest place to be a car on Earth - and I still change oil no later than 5,000 miles.
This is a perfect example of why you don’t put all your money behind these turbocharged four-cylinder engines. It’s not the same as a V6/V8 even if they try to claim on paper that is somehow magically better.
Ya. Gm had a great 6cyl and they should’ve kept it

I haven't used cruise control in decades. I've had it in my vehicles, I just don't like it. I'd rather have control over all aspects of my driving, even if l am driving across country.
I will never understand people that constantly get new vehicles and are forever with monthly payments. Why don't you just buy a vehicle and keep it for a couple years, instead of getting a new one every single year and wasting all your money, then complaining about it. These same people go on and on about reliability, and how it is the most important thing, yet they only keep their cars for a year before they get rid of them. Almost every new car will last a year or two before problems, so reliability really isn't an issue.
Many people have that monthly car payment in their budget. If you are always paying $700/month for a vehicle and you have money leftover and can save for retirement then you can have a newer car that is reliable and really nice.
I’m one of those people who go on and on about reliability. Of course my truck is 20 years old and has 300,000 miles on it and I’d confidently drive it across the country tomorrow if needed. They’ll have to pry the keys for my Toyota out of my cold dead hands…
I have a ‘17 Colorado and all in (every dollar spent on that truck, everything you could think of) I’m at $900/mo after 87mos to purchase own and operate. That doesn’t include trade in value. If I trade tomorrow for let’s say $17k it cost me $700/mo after almost 7.5yrs. You can probably lease and operate every 36mos a brand new truck for about the same price I’m guessing and have peace of mind everything is under warranty. I guess what I’m saying it’s not as crazy as it sounds dumping a truck after a few years.
I understand that but they don't make nearly enough content with their personal vehicles to justify the constant yearly rotation. People can do what they want with their money. I'll just never understand the constant need for a new vehicle. Consumer greed at its finest. You can take that 700$ payment and put it in savings or retirement and have more. Most cars are pretty reliable and efficient nowadays. Just keep up the basic maintenance and it'll last you a long time. Today's standard was last years premium. What more nice or luxury things do you want in a vehicle? Tomorrow they'll announce 1 new feature in next year's model and they'll all switch again. Cars are basically Smartphones now. Just my 2 cents. Just something I've observed over the years.
Dang, no cruise control on that truck. Huh! Never heard that about Andres truck. Hey Andre, you should try to get cruise control on your next truck! My wife has it on her 24 Colorado Bison and it works great! Heck, my lawnmower has it too and that’s 25 years old! All jokes aside, thanks for the content big guy! Good luck on your new truck hunt. They do have power windows nowadays too!
Depends on the vehicle, all mine are used, never had a new new one. I go by smell and feel. I check my oil every fuel fill up, slightly more frequently if it shit...
I had 19 GMC Canyon All-Terrain for 5 years and V6 was fantastic with 27-30 mpg on highway at 4500 ft elevation, far better what new turbo engine gets. Overall, zero issues and compains. Several coast-coast trips, different climates from alpine tundra to humid tropics. Solid truck. Sold it two weeks ago and got new Nissan Titan Pro4x in baja color.
I’m not a fan of how you guys are adding video clips into the new videos just to drag it out. It’s not necessary since we’ve seen the original ones already and it conveys that you’re padding the current vid. I find myself stopping the video completely and going elsewhere.
I just bought a 2024 Trail Boss for $41k with Adaptive Cruise, Running Boards. I had a 2020 F250 Tremor so adjusting to the size will be my issue but, my Ford was at the point where I could still trade and get something new. If I waited that wasnt going to happen. Alot better fuel mileage, warranty again, all the way back to zero on the odometer, and this thing doesnt take half a parking lot to turn around in.
Fantastic video! It’s exciting to see all these exotic cars up close. But I’d recommend that anyone thinking about getting one of these luxury cars should consult a financial advisor first, it’s a massive investment. I’ve been working with a great advisor, Stephanie Janis Stiefel, for years. She has a stellar track record, both in helping me grow my investments and with the right financial planning when I considered getting a luxury car. If anyone’s considering a high-value purchase, she’s someone you should check out. You can find her online pretty easily
Totally agree with you. These cars are beautiful, but making a huge investment without a proper financial plan can be risky. I also work with Stephanie Janis Stiefel, and she really helped me stay grounded when I was eyeing a McLaren. She’s practical, knows the market, and just gets the big picture.
Good point! I know people jump in headfirst with luxury buys, especially with cars like these. I’ve also been working with Stephanie Janis Stiefel for a couple of years, and she’s helped me make smarter choices, especially with bigger purchases like my Aston Martin. Stephanie’s advice kept me from overextending myself, which is priceless when you’re eyeing something that’s more than just a car, it’s a financial commitment.
Thanks for the heads-up. I was actually thinking about getting an exotic car myself, maybe a Ferrari or a Bentley, but I was unsure if it was the right move right now. Could really use an advisor who knows how to guide this sort of decision, and it sounds like Stephanie Janis Stiefel. might be exactly who I need. How do I get in touch with her?
Well her name is 'STEPHANIE JANIS STIEFEL'. Just research the name. You'd find necessary details to work with a correspondence to set up an appointment.
I can back up what everyone’s saying about Stephanie Janis Stiefel. She’s been amazing for me. I looked at buying a Porsche last year, and she helped me map out a plan that didn’t hurt my finances. These cars are beautiful but not worth the stress if they break your bank! Best decision ever to work with her.
When I baby my 6.2 over the road my mpg is not so bad I can consider a mid and when I need power no mid can compare not even a ranger raptor so some of us will alway be in the full-size. Having the space and capabilities just makes more sense. especially for big guys. Thanks for the transparency Andre
I bought a Canyon AT4. Which I love. One of my issues was my truck was one of the vehicles affected by the headlight flickering. But to my understanding were bad headlight modules. Unfortunately, still waiting on the parts to come in. Now, the other day I got in to leave Starbucks and my 2H stayed yellow. It wouldn't allow me to switch out of 2H. Don't know what that was. I gave it a few hours, started it again. And it was back to normal. Going to have that looked at as well. All in all, I'm happy with my truck. The 4 cylinder turbo does make me a little nervous. About longevity. But to my understanding they are pretty much the same ones they have been in the lower trim of Silverado's for about several years. With no major issues. So, hopefully that continues.
I wouldn’t buy a midsize truck either… and I also wouldn’t buy a Chevy. Get a real truck Andre… F-150 is the best looking and riding truck on the market and always has been. You’ll be so much happier with it

It makes people feel like they are saving the environment. It really is just a crock of sh@t.

These guys don’t keep their vehicles long enough to ever worry about changing the oil 😂

@ I’m at about 15,800.
My manual 1998 Honda Civic even has cruise control. How it's not a standard feature on every vehicle for the past 20 years is laughable.
@NoLimitsCommemorativ its stander on the 2025 Colorado now it should have been from the beginning
It's standard on the 2025 colorado now it should have been from the beginning
My 2002 Subaru WRX (5 speed manual) has it. My 2002 Dodge Neon (5 speed manual) did not.

When it comes to changing your oil, do it more often. Oil protects the motor. What it goes through daily as you drive, it’s truly amazing.
lets use context, think what was being said is put some heavy miles on the oil and send it to us. not so much change the oil less frequently.
Basically you're selling it because you want something different, not because this truck isn't capable or functional enough. That is a very fair reason to replace a car.
He's looking to upgrade to cruise control.
I do my oil changes every 5K miles like clockwork. Oil is cheap compared to a new engine.
If you care about the mechanical longevity and reliability of your vehicle, the answer is simple: change the oil and filter every 5,000 miles.
Never exceed 3,000 miles if you care about your vehicle.
@Cloud30000 : I respectfully disagree. Given the superiority of modern oils, 3,000-mile oil change intervals are simply overkill.

So horsepower to me is irrelevant.
I don’t wanna lose my license or go to jail 😂
Is it the best truck to pull something with of course not .

Overall, it has met all my expectations. Given the outrageous prices in today's truck market, I will keep this truck for the foreseeable future.
Extended oil change intervals are not a positive feature for longevity or for resale, imo.
I would never recommend 12k miles between oil changes. I stick to every 5k and I have a 2023 Tacoma that recommends every 10k.

Very smart.... Your chances are high that you could get over 500,000 miles... 1995 F150 5.0 343,781 full synthetic 3000 miles..
3,000 miles is throwing away good oil if you are using synthetic.
I have no ideal on what you will replace the Colorado with, but I do know one thing for sure, your next truck will have cruise control 😁
@@WaffledMags yeah the ZR2 and Denali are really nice and have everything. His is so base model I can see why he wants to get rid of it.
@WaffledMags the zr2 is the most useless option. The price you pay for the suspension bits you'll never use makes it a rip off. It does look good but the downgrade in towing really makes the zr2 useless.
@ethenjordan2010 midsized trucks are useless. Got rid of my ranger this year because of the lack of storage space. They are tou trucks.
I still cant believe this truck came without cruise control
There seriously is no excuse. Its all handled electronically anyways by the PCM. Aside from a few buttons on the steering wheel, there is no added cost.
Im hoping you purchase the new '25 Ram 1500 Warlock with the 3.0 Hurricane for a long term test rig. A lot of us are curious on how the SO Hurricane will do over all your tough testing.
Stop being cheap on every car you buy you waste more money trading than getting something you actually want
@@deltabravo1257 but he bought an old Toyota no longer made. There goes your theory
I can't wait to see what you end up replacing the Colorado with Andre. Whatever it is, I know it will have great acceleration and engine sound. 👍
How much money will you lose???
Hes a youtuber they never lose more then 2 or 3 hundred
It's literally their business model to turn over units so they have fresh content
@@TomStarcevich-fb3qolol none it’s a tax rite for ff . Pluse tfl is paying for it
I purchased the truck at $40,500 in April 2023. Used value is currently at around $34,000.
Regardless, it will be worth less than my 2018 tacoma. (Laughs maniacally in good timing purchase)
Oil meter is making an educated guess and the analysis is giving you facts. I guess it comes down to how much money you are willing to spend on oil changes.
I want to like Chevrolet. I really do. But they have a nasty addiction to screwing up. What happened, Mary Barra?
I have a 2024 colorado trail boss, I have 2500 miles on it now , my mileage isn't great so far 18.4 life time ,I hope it goes up.
This channel and hosts are quickly becoming detached from longtime viewers I’ve watched this channel from the early days and they kept both personal and business owned trucks much longer than they do now. I go back to the days when they were comparing the frontier to Tacoma TRD Baja.
Thanks for watching for so long. FYI: we’ve had our Ram Cummins for almost three years?
I appreciate all of your input. At least you tried owning a mid sized truck so now your opinion is that much more accurate. I owned one vehicle that didn’t have cruise and that was my 1996 Chevy Corsica.
@@zjp692004 see the similarities, both were GM’s.
Thats the only advantage. I love quiet EB
@02hreblue30 to each their own, I've always been a displacement guy but that Ecoboost was a great engine.
If 20,000 miles is long term, what would be my 140,000 mile 6.4 2500 RAM be. It has cruise control too!😁
Extra long term?
Who cares.
@@nospark333 not me little feller.
This is just them putting basic features into higher cost trim levels to make buyers pay more for features that cost almost NOTHING to install.
maybe they forgot
I'd sell it for the color alone but no cruse control, yea she is gone....
It’s not the same as a
V6/V8 even if they try to claim on paper that is somehow magically better.
Ya. Gm had a great 6cyl and they should’ve kept it
I haven't used cruise control in decades. I've had it in my vehicles, I just don't like it. I'd rather have control over all aspects of my driving, even if l am driving across country.
I’ve had my LT over a year, love it , no issues at all. And I have cruise control
@@Fernando-t8g because they use it for content in the videos. People get tired of seeing the same vehicle once the content has run its course
Because it has a turbo4
Depends on the vehicle, all mine are used, never had a new new one. I go by smell and feel. I check my oil every fuel fill up, slightly more frequently if it shit...
Well now Ford is putting the 2.7 ecoboost in the Ranger. You would really get left by that one! GM sucks dude!
Although I like the appearance of the new Colorado and Canyon, I think GM perhaps used Toyota as an appearance template.
Just trade out trucks at 20,000 miles, like Andre and never have to worry about longevity.
I wouldn’t buy a midsize truck either… and I also wouldn’t buy a Chevy.
Get a real truck Andre… F-150 is the best looking and riding truck on the market and always has been. You’ll be so much happier with it
😂
F150- yawn.
Found On the Road Dead! 😂
He had one before this one.
