And that force feedback! Actually details through the corners & the bumps on the straights! After 2yrs they finally sorted us some strong detailed FFB. Good on them! We can now crank up the settings boys & girls … strain those tendons and enjoy the muscle fatigue 🤤👌 Keep it real team.

Funny you mentioned understeering has died down, Steve (SuperGT) said the exact opposite, that the curbs are more extreme and the understeering is far more prevalent

Nobody knows what is proper, everyone is making it up. I think they’ve screwed it up. If you can glitch suspension to launch a car into the air that’s hardly moving. Your physics suck.
Definitely different, I say at lower speeds the tyres grip insanely well, maybe at higher it feels understeery.

I feel like the weight transfer under braking, rear going light, is definitely the main thing I noticed. Also the cars feel like they have weight and react more to the track surface and bumps, not so anchored down.
Personally I find it harder to be consistent, but it’s a challenge. I like it.

Same. Had to move brake bias forward but then kept locking the fronts. But didn't spin like having set to the rear like normal

@@The_Doug124 are you on Logitech? They changed the settings I think. I’m on an r5 with ras1lution which uses Logitech settings and it feels a little smoother to me

I watched Super GT for a couple of hours first thing this morning. I'm glad you trialed a few things that he didn't, like noticing the grip being back immediately after hitting the grass.
The general consensus from several drivers notice that lap times on general are .5 sec slower.

I think you can really feel the difference now between car layouts. The FR GT3 car now feels much different to an MR on weight transfer as it maneuvers through curves. Which is how it should be i think. This hopefully will make for more interesting racing as different cars take different lines based on their strengths
The cars have more understeer on entry into corners & high speed corners but less oversteer on exits. From the retuning i had too do im only 0,5 behind my lap times with current psychics from current update. Im on controller & would be nice to find the last 0.5 back again.

My Bilstein 911 RSR DEFINITELY feels different on both weathers. I can feel the bumps now, I can tell that turn in is more sensitive, they actually fixed its BOP and i overall like it. Before BOP fix, i could only get 157 -159 on the straight outside Radillon. But now I get 164. I knew it was WAAAAAAYYY too slow on top end compared to other cars.
If you noticed before this update: if you viewed the car from the side as you set off slowly, the driven wheels would rotate faster than the car was moving, almost like there was no physical connection between the surface of the tyre and the road. This is no longer the case..!
Also for the wet, there is a definite loss of grip on the racing line where the oily rubber is, much more realistic.
Cars definately turn in more and are more responsive. I like it.

I definitely think it’s a positive update and it’s very nice but i definitely would like to see a real world circuit for the next update , imola sebring hockenheim etc
I think just more variety in the daily races would satisfy me to be honest, there are more than enough track on GT7 but we sadly just don't ever see some of them!

@@big-wood196I use the g923. When you crash you don’t really get much ffb, but it is still a good wheel
You need to upgrade your wheel, this game relies a lot on the transducer!
This is how it should be cars aren’t sliding around and clearly see improvements to track feedback
First thing I noticed was the steering wheel feeling a little lighter so I could turn the FF up, this is always a plus for me on GT7. I like to use road RWD cars tuned to the max instead of GT cars, the back end sliding is more realistic than before. I only drive this track because it gives the best FF and the closest to road racing.

That AMG GT-ONE will be pretty much undrivable if it understeers more than it already did

I tried it for a bit this morning and still had a few problems but that could very well be my driving style and me being on a controller.

Best gran turismo physics to date. Still not rFactor2 quality but getting there.
I love it and even taking a second and more off my times feels more real
I'm not talking about the glitched setups, I'm talking about normal cars here. The Superformula at Watkins Glenn, you can't touch the kerbs or it'll throw you off the track, especially in the chicane. I've flipped upside down from it, I've even had a normal spin and the car has started bouncing around glitch style. How did they not notice this.
Then, there's the standard Mitsubishi Evo, the snap oversteer on the brakes it ridiculous now.

Are you serious? Streetcars bounce parts when driving, some of them cannot be driven at all, no matter how you set up the car, these driving physics are the worst of all that have ever come out and I won't play it anymore if Streetcars stay like this. GR3s are still easy to drive
My man, are you serious? Other than the “new” old track being back, which is great, I agree, I don’t really see any noticeable improvements to the physics. In fact, I found myself having to adjust the antiroll bars on several cars to mitigate understeer, which was supposed to be one of the addressed issues 🤷🏻♂️ And the illusion of speed? Really? You must’ve had some placebo pills with your breakfast this morning… I’m not saying it’s bad (I always thought it was ok from the cockpit view), it’s just unchanged. From the chase view it still is quite appalling, in fact. Well, the chase view is still quite appalling in itself, nothing new.

This update made some races more difficult. I was doing the Circuit Experience 1 Lap Attack on Tokyo Expressway East Clockwise. I was very close to the gold standard and was just 0.1 second off. But then after the update, the time for the gold standard was reduced by 0.5 second, and the BMW Z4 became harder to drive. The tires have less grip now and I have to slow down more than what was needed before the update in order to turn, and the car became easier to spin. I have to increase the traction control to 3 in order to make the car drivable. It took me two more nights to gold it after this update. I was lucky, as I already got the gold results on the Tokyo Expressway Central, both Clockwise and Counterclockwise. I am not sure if I would be able to do these again after the update.
I couldn't notice much in race C but in Race B earlier definitely I almost felt like I was losing any force feedback while under breaking... Not sure if it's my G29 but felt very weird and much more twitchy..
I hope when I log back on after vacation that the wet racing line develops to an alternative line and the brake bias is fixed, gt7 has it swapped up compared to say, iracing or acc. Aliso I hope that the new track can have a fun combo with a good car.

The only problem ive encountered is weight distribution leading into understeer in the new lambo. I dip in the corner and release brakes and throttle and half way through the turn just randomly stops rotating and pushes out as if i started giving it throttle even though im coasting

Low A driver here, I'm kinda confused with the physics for this update. On old physics i was always faster on controller. Now I'm faster on wheel. Understeer seemed far worse on controller (rework of the controller algorithm) almost as tho I wasn't being allowed by the game to turn in or rotate the car. Definitely twitchy under braking, brake balance was a delicate dance. Before the last physics change I played with ABS weak, then default, and now both feel too aggressive. Even throttle control and traction issues with counter steer becoming slighty less responsive.
I always played on no assists, but I swear Polyphony seemed to turn them all on

Only in high speed corners yeah, more pointy in low speed. I'm loving it.
What I feel is that trail braking is more important to inducing rotation than it was before. So if you're not used to trail braking as much, the car will feel understeer-y.
i have this problem that when my car looses traction or any type of control the car just wants to nose dive directly into a wall. like no spin out, not able to gain traction at all but it will point it self at the wall and go straight to it.every single time!!!!! it doesnt even crash into other cars! it will avoid cars and go for the wall!
How is it on the rallying? I really enjoyed rally on old GT games but 7 is difficult from the jump landings spitting you out
Raise your car and soften the suspension then, especially the rebound.
Haven’t tried rally but with the way street cars handle jumps now I bet it feels way better
@@valkyriedd5849 tried that and the landing of some jumps kept spitting me off at all angles. Since the update that seems to have lessened giving better control. I enjoy the rallying again 😊

It still looks like the cars are disconnected and hovering around the tracks, and no track undulations on the suspension.

The improvements to the dirt physics is actually really enjoyable, especially compared to what it was.
Yeah I found it was weird at first but I soon adjusted to it, a big improvement 😊
Noticed a bit of a change with brake bias where the rear will kick out if you're braking too hard in a corner.
When will they add the rear view mirror to bonnet cam so I can revert back to this view?! I like the rev counter on bumper cam too, but I can get over that
Michelin tyres have ruined all my pp specific builds, definitely issues with the new physics, especially 'dives' under braking.
I have only noticed negative things about the physics update today. Most of my vehicles, for which I have worked out the best setups for me over a long period of time, now behave poorly or even catastrophically on the track, so that I sometimes felt like an absolute noob. Friends with whom I have specifically consulted feel the same way. I am currently very disappointed with this situation.

I tend to only use cars in their default configuration, and the physics model feels more realistic now. Trail braking has more of an effect, steering inputs while under hard braking need to be very gentle and smooth, and manipulating the balance of the car with brake and throttle pressure has more impact. I think that adjusting your tunes (specifically suspension) to make the cars a little less loose will help you re-gain the feel for things.
Traction Control's been tweaked definitely -- running with TC1 you can really still get a decent amount of drift going and the amount of power TC cuts is much softer -- so you can use tc 1 as a bit of an aid rather than it being ridiculously harsh on power cut
I haven't touched GT7 for a good while mainly because it was so understeery compared to other racing sims. Im going to have a go at it today. Thanks

Question if easier is the way to go here. Is this supposed to be more arcade like now? Are they adjusting to the growing number of players, i.e - larger population or random players, less interest in actual physics, hence make it easier to satisfy more people?

The problem is that I spent weeks upon weeks getting almost all of my top cars to overcome such and now no matter what o do I always oversteer in the first 3 gears and my Shelby Cobra ‘66 just doesn’t drive corners.
Weekly race B at Spa I brought down the time by 6 tenths and mainly on straights. Much faster.
Good to have better physics for when folks crash into me

"safer" and "friendly" is kind of the thing as more realistic the simulation gets... According to all the real life drivers who compare sim racers like iracing and AC.
I hope PD keeps going with simulation improvements and physics models and gets in that spot one day like where iracing is and / or ACC.
And yeah can't wait to get back home from work to play with new physics.
All my tuned M3s, E190 and other typical FR cars, just randomly spin out no matter how much traction control or ESP I use. They're now useless. They were perfectly balanced before the update.
God I miss GT7... I need to get myself a playstation again!
Maybe, with the new physics, I'll finally achieve the gold medal für Nürburgring track experience with the BMW M6. Or maybe still not.

I actually drive my car on track, and have found gt7 more difficult than real life. With the bumper car antics of players in the daily races I was about to give up on the game, maybe I’ll give it some time.

This is without BoP! 911 feels as you described without BoP now too but much worse with BoP(lots more understeer). Not sure why the suspension settings on BoP are so poor

That's not true, I'm able to get within the top 5-10% of lap times on tracks I like while using a controller. I understand that all the pros use wheels, but when you consider that they're sponsored by sim wheel companies and they're made to compete with sim wheels during tournaments, you could easily argue that they all use wheels because they have to. If you put in the metaphorical 10,000 hours to master the controller, the tracks, and the cars, you can be faster than a lot of people with wheels.

How is your car tuned? I used 3 different cars today, and all of them were understeering like crazy and had absolutely no grip. I had to crank up the TC, and it still didn't work.
