- Dreadful, dangerous and deluded.
Even worse than Nikita Mazepin, Yuji Ide, Taki Inoue & probably even Latifi.
Considered by many, I’d even say considered by most to be the worst driver of all time.
From the slowest qualifying laps in history to mistakes like these..
& some of the funniest moments in motorsport history..
& of course, getting banned indefinitely..
This is the story of the one, the only, the legendary, Mahaveer Raghunathan…

Trying for the fastest lap after the race ends is a GOAT move
If he made F1... his wiki stats page would be littered with Ret or DNQ
It’s still called a RACEtrack after the race ends 😎
When you dont go for a lap that doesnt exist, then you stop being a racing driver
I wonder how would he perform if he ever did enter F1... A bunch of purple Ret fields in Wiki probably
Real
There is no way in hell this guy comes from a "modest" background. Money is the only possible explanation for how anyone let him drive. He or his family for sure have influence/connections.
Yeah good call, this stinks of ANYTHING but "modest" background
"Modest" is a relative term when applied to racing circles.
@@DanUnfathomableRealmsModest = My dad owns a yacht, not a fleet.
Bro the Indian Mafia was almost on that guy. That's why he needed to say "modest" background.
but none of talent/skill
I'll bet some Arabian prince did this all for a giggle or two.
"Let us pick the worse driver available from a karting race, finance him ans see how far we can push it".
Imagine those degenerate Arabs giving themselves royal titles.
I believe so. There's no way any team or any sporting management would want constant, guaranteed underperformance, and chaos, unless for giggles.
Haha I would do that. Sit around with my other rich mates and laugh about him.
Reminds me of Wimp Lo's Shifu who trained him as a joke.
If I were obscenely wealthy I'd finance someone with a lot of passion but no talent into professional status in all sorts of things just to see what happened
How this guy was even allowed on a racing course when he drives like he got his license as a prize out of a cereal box is a mystery to both science and God.
It's frustrating as he blocked someone else who was more worthy. It's the top end of motorsport.
money
Money trumps ability unfortunately
in f1 you dont need skill as much as money, that take you further.
@@DavidFerriday who did he block btw just curious?
How he even had the privilege to sit in a Formula 1 car baffles my mind.
2 F1 cars - tested for McLaren after setting a laptime with Sauber that was 1.9 seconds slower than Theo Pourchaire in the same car

Heck, pretty sure he made it into an official F1 game

He did win the championship for his class, but only because his nearest rival for the title missed 4 races. When his rival was racing, he took a class win in every race he entered except 1
@@MPal24 "Championship" is carrying a LOT of weight. That "series" is more of a pick-up game kind of atmosphere, where hardly anyone even bothers to show up for the majority of rounds. And you do your best to not break parts you can't find replacements for. It's basically racecar driver LARPing (Live Action Role Play) for wealthy people.
You're probably better off not showing up to all the events, just to make sure you don't end up "winning" the booby prize of being the "champion" of this "series".

I love how people lump Mazepin and Latifi in with some of the worst drivers that should not have even stepped near an F1 car, yet they were both pretty rapid in their junior careers.
Clearly these people have never seen the grid in the 50s and 60s.
@@MikoyanGurevichMiG21 Hell, even the 80’s and 90’s. So many pay drivers did not warrant even being close to an F1 car, let alone an F3000.

Latifi wasn't even THAT bad, ppl just liked hating on mazepin and when he left, they needed someone else to bully

Recently Somalia entered a woman in the World University Games in China who finished 10 seconds behind the winner in the 100m dash. Yes, you read that right - 10 seconds in the 100m dash, a race where the winner crossed the finish line in about 10 seconds. It turned out that Somalia's President of Athletics Federation sent her niece to race for Somalia.
It not only embarrassed Somalia but cost the President of the Federation her job after it was discovered that the woman who raced had never competed in a race in her life. So yeah, money, fame, power and political status can buy people a place in sports where they should never be.
Recently??? Bro its been almost a whole year since that incident.😂
@@inocry940 you know that each person’s interpretation of “recently” can be different depending on their frame of reference, right?

I watched the Round 2 in Vallelunga of Italian GT and I kid you not, he DESTROYED the race of the leader in the championship by not letting him pass for basically all race DESPITE BEING LAPPED. They were showing blue flags all over the place and he just ignored them, even defending against the attempts of overtakes! This costed so much time to the leader that they both got caught and overtaken by a car that was about 10 seconds behind in just a few laps.
Thank you lord Mahaveer
He still lived a life most of us can only dream of

I am genuinely baffled by how someone who at least knows how to drive enough to take an open-wheeler round a track, not knowing to turn the steering wheel to turn around. Dude had to be panicking or something and just not thinking.
Qualities that should not be in that level of the sport and proof he was unqualified.

I have no idea why parents push their kids out of karting into single seaters so soon. Karts are where you can really push and get used to feeling tire grip at its limit with little consequences. It’s also where you’re going to have the most competition with equal and better drivers. Moving to single seaters too soon will stunt your growth as a driver.
Karts are great but Karts are also driven differently to cars. For example, physically leaning to the outside while rounding the corner is a technique that only applies to karting but is essential to be competitive. Fixed axel karts with no suspension will require different driving techniques than all other racing car series.
@@deanjdk True but one year of karts before single seaters is way too soon in my opinion. I feel like you should stay in karts for at least 5 years to fine tune your seat of the pants feel for tire grip. That feel is everything in racing, after you get that you can adapt to different vehicles and learn how to pilot those. But if you aren’t comfortable at and exceeding the limits in a kart where the speeds are slow, you are going to be overly timid in a car and slow down your development as a driver. Exceeding tire grip in a car can be a huge disaster financially and physically, in a kart you can do it comfortably and not worry about endangering your whole season financially or get hurt.
@@maxcalder1010 5 years developing skill in a different direction than the one required for single seaters. 5 years of muscle memory playing the cello when ultimately, you're in a guitar playing competition, will it help? Sure, but better than actual practise in a single seater, definitely not. Karts handle much too differently (as great as they are).

That's pretty much it. Motorsports is expensive and not every skilled driver has a generous sponsor package that they bring along with them. There are a lot of very rich wannabes out there though, and sometimes a team just has to burn a season to take their money and let them have their fun.
Same reason mazepin, stroll and latifi where in F1. They pay to be there.

@@prashanthg8165 wow I clearly "don't watch racing". You clearly don't understand banter. Kush Maini is simply doing good nothing great. And good isn't good enough for formula 1. @@ifixthingsjr oh I see, I wasn't aware that it was banter but as far as kush is concerned, I think he's doing better than last season, this season he got unlucky because of his car.
