I’ve never understood why heavy damage isn’t used in all online races.
Because people purposely get online to ram others just to ruin a race.
Cause one f up and ur race is over and you just wasted 30 mins of the limited time you have to play
Not everyone is skilled enough to last a race with it.
The problem isn’t the damage it’s the fact bad drivers are not locked automaticlaly

@@damonn44 yeah.. expected that hard damage would make it worse. some people will still just dive you and give you damage on top.
@@zedictedf19 Thrn they need to make the safety rating stricter and they would rapidly get a bad rating and be around their own kind. The most stupid thing till now is that before you rank up a driver level you have to race against higher rated players with worse safety rating which just ram you and destroy both of your ratings.

Tbh I don't think this works for anything other than A+. In D or C people have less control over their car and the victim of bad driving gets punished twice.

I just started playing online after playing GT 1-2-3-4-5-Sport and 7. Im C and S for now and people are MOSTLY clean. Yesterday I made a mistake and pushed a guy in the last corner, barely touched him, but still last corner. He lost a spot. I feel bad ever since.
I think you are over looking that this is the system that people are asking for when they say they want a better damage model in GT7. The rammer takes near race ending damage for ramming and the person who was rammed does not. In this game front end damage is worst to the car than rear or side panel damage so the person who punts you off his race is pretty much done while the person who was rammed has potential to still be competitve. It solves the problem across all drivers skillsets because it doesn't matter to me why you rammed me, I just don't want you to be able to finish the race after you've done it. Yes, it is frustrating to be hit by another driver because they've lost control of their car, but perhaps it will stop people who are less skilled from attempting to drive like a crazy person without the skill to do so. The message PD is sending here , is race clean or your race maybe over.
@corey_massey: That's true as long as we are talking a simple bump in the back. I am in C myself and about 50% of the time the incidents are something like an (accidental) pit maneuver that sends one person directly into Barry R. You lose time, your car potentially has damage on both ends and to make it the perfect trifecta of shit you get penalty time for spinning over the track limits. 🙂
The answer really is as simple as “get good”

7th place finisher here. I'm not sure if I'd agree with the fact that heavy damage has fixed dirty driving. It's not like it was acting as a deterrent for people not to hit each other, I think it was more of a case of a bunch of good drivers in slow cars on a track that prioritises racecraft and car placement.
I had quite a few light scrapes and bumps yesterday (with you in some races too), and never picked up any damage. If someone wanted they could still easily push you out the way. Having said this I'd still rather heavy damage be on because eventually yeah it will reduce chaos.

All the featured multiplayer Forza races I've been in did have full damage
I haven't seen any on Forza Motor Sports. I'm a mid packer, so I know I'm not going to win. I just want to race clean and maybe get a top 10. There is bumping and that is fine, but the straight out wrecking with no damage just sucks. I rolled 3 times and could have kept going with no damage. @@Tone720

Agree, but you have a lobby of respectful S drivers. I have a feeling in B,C,D,E DR drivers with SR ratings of B,C,D, it still could get ugly.
Even with SR S it'll still happen. I stopped looking at people SR rating because even people SR S pull dirty moves and get away with it. This will only work for DR A and up, Maybe B.
But this assumes that those drivers won’t learn and adapt to the consequences of punting.
Qualified 3rd and got rammed over and over down to 16th.
@@Stripes__ Thats why every even a bit competetive racing game needs a report system that eventually reaches human eyes. Im playing ACC where I can report people and it WILL reach someone, and if they are dirty, they will get a penalty (or even a ban if it happens too often). People tend to be overly aggressive, but never dirty, as dirty will just get you banned.

I don't comment often on your videos, Rory, but you are spot on. I've been an advocate for HD for a while, and it was noticeable that driving behaviour in this race was VERY different.
I'd like to see a medium-term trial of HD in Race C. It'd take a while for the behaviour to change. Not just one week. The other big thing I would recommend is a trial of a 5 minute qualifying session before each Race C, like GTWS Manufacturers.

I wish there was a 4th daily race with the 86/BRZ having an extended residence, maybe a month? The track can rotate, but this car with these settings is just phenomenal.

I think that racing with sports tires is a more interesting model .You use the same wheel for PC and playstation .Do you have an addapter or do you have to change the interface each time ?
Its crazy how good gt7 has become. You can literally feel the dirt and pebbles sticking to the tires. I realized this during a lap time challenge.
I really enjoyed that racing at the start though with one of the Bulgarians. That's what I love to see.

I wish they would make heavy damage the standard in all races. I did three races last night and every one was ruined by someone punting me off into the barrier. It reminded me of why I didn't race online for YEARS outside of a league. Awesome racing, Mate.

We have asked for a fair while that they do the heavy damage along with heavy penalties as it will put more responsibility on drivers to race fair and properly. Now they havent done the heavy penalties (yet) but they have been utilising the heavy damage more the past few months i think to great effect, so hopefully it is a change they stick with going forward

Recently got a wheel stand for my entry level logi g29 generally i do quite well with a control in C rank with a S driver rating but i am now finding it hard to maintain control of the car if i start anywhere near the middle or back end of the pack, one rammer or even nudge causes me to spin and it takes a lot longer to recover, im determined to keep at it and find the right settings for the wheel though. People are so dirty though and it does ruin the game a lot
Just got the wheel myself its quite a bit different than the controller. Couldn't control the stick well, nerve problems sucks bad... but wheel is so much different can't wait to get online and race! Waiting a while till I get a good handle on this wheel buisness.
@@frizzlefry1921 Once you use the wheel the controller is not anywhere near as fun. What i have found is if its the start of the race in a thick pack or you have a feeling there is someone that is going to ram or nudge you off the track turn traction control up until its safer to go back down, it does help the car stay on the track somewhat, otherwise it almost immediatley spins and you can't catch it like a controller. I also have my steering sensitivity quite high and force feedback around 6 and sensitivity around 8 or 10. I managed to win a daily a the other day luckily the lobby was clean and almost copped p6 in B until this d*ckhead rammed me off michelin to recover for 8th. Just keep at it its more rewarding playing this way but man is it equally as frustrating
Coming into t1 lap 7 you could’ve stuck to racing line and pinned dj inside and comprised his exit and got a better run down the straight to the next corner 🤷♂️

Hey, could someone please explain this to me:
When Rory got switcharoo:ed on the final lap, he knew he was getting pinned on the inside, and said that there was nothing he could have done. But couldn’t he just have moved to the outside before he was passed, pinning the other car to the inside instead? Why wouldnt that have worked?
Good race, that mistake by the blue car @7:43 let you catch up and take the lead, thought he was too far ahead. Proof to not give up since drivers will make mistakes. BTW what track is that? I thought I've driven all the tracks in GT7, that one didn't look familiar.

I like the heavy damage change less rammers only problem is we might see more toxic brake check moves happen to me on one race I get good exit speed on the last turn going into the long straight I make a move to pass 1st instead dude cuts in front of me then brake checks giving me front bumper damage which is way worse then rear bumper damage for the brake checker no penalty giving he keeps 1st while I fall down in positions

When I used to drive a lot in GTS when there were the few heavy damage races, it’s still an issue in B/S
The E salt carries up to rank B at least and it’s the bane of my nightmares
