But he did get off the track limits while running over the kerbs. All tyres were on top of the kerbs, after the white line. The game should disqualify this kind of lap
@@walterferreira3561 White lines are not necessarily track limits. Sometimes the track limit extends to the edge of the kerb so it depends by track/corner.
These top drivers are incredible. Some of them actually have UA-cam channel, one I’m personally watching is Takuan, multiple world tours driver and also this year’s Nations cup qualifier in Asia. And if you go see them practicing on livestream, they can do these kind of world record laps consistently for like 10 to 20 or even more laps. It’s just insane to watch them being so comfortable on the limit.
@@Chriis2A Actually very incredible to be able to put that work consistently lap after lap. You can write down math and the most optimal line to keep the pace but that's the theory part. The practical part is putting all of that theory into practice and achieving that is just... incredible. Your brain to be on point lap after lap. That is incredible.
This is extremely interesting and gives so much light on how these guys (and of course I include Rory as well) achieve those apparently impossible cornering and speed. Thank you Rory!
They key difference i notice here is not apex speed or braking points or acceleration. It's actually weight management. Let me try to explain - if you jump from one corner exit right into the entrance of the next one, w/o straightening the car, you get additional rotation. The mass of the car shifts from one side to the other like a pendulum and can seriously improve rotation and helps energy conversation. You don't waste grip and energy in that initial turn in. Kinda like connecting drift slides from corner to corner - one corner sets up the next one. If you are in the actual car the difference is quite noticeable as well. Imagine a swing - what the guy is doing is keeping it swinging backwards and forwards, w/o slowing down/stopping in the middle. What Rory is doing is like stopping the swing in its lowest point and then trying to swing it as high as possible, w/o using the inertia of it coming down from the previous high point. I hope this makes sense. It's a split millisecond moment, but over a number of corners it multiplies drastically. 10:13 onwards is probably the clearest example of that - the silver Mercedes goes from leaning right, straight to leaning left, while Rory's Merc goes from leaning right, to stabilizing in the center for a split second, then leaning left. That puts him waaaaaay out wide into the corner.
This video is absolutely perfect. ✨ Great topic, excellent commentary, video editing, music and of course your driving performance. Interesting, exciting, fun… Excellent job. Bravo Rory and thanks.👍

Yo Rory, just fired up gt7 today and to my surprise, I have improved by an absolute country mile, especially for gt3 cars! I can actually drive a lap without leaving the track now, which is a big surprise And it’s safe to say that I’ve learned most of these by watching you, the braking zones, trail braking, how to keep your cool when someone pit maneuvers you whether it’s an ai or a real person Thank you for this mate, I wish I was in a country where I could donate you some cash but unfortunately it’s not possible here Anyway, cheers mate!
This is what I need. This not only shows me where to improve, but also how to compare my lines with someone elses. Thanks! One thing that I saw in your race compared to the other, is that going into turn one he/she is completely on the white line on the left before steering into the apex. That allows him/her to loose less speed while making a sharper apex hit and getting more speed out of the corner.
Being quick in these games is more about knowing where track limits ACTUALLY are. If track limits were at the white line, their speed would come down a lot.
As far as side by side.. just notice that The world class driver you dont hear any tire squealing... Tire squealing is the sound made when the car moves sideways not forwards... although its not a lot.. 1.5 miles worth of squealing (sideways not forwards) adds up to 10's 100's 1000's of a second quickly.. keep an eye on his steering indicator as well

8:42 On the first corner you didn’t use the whole track if you look closely his car was very close to the white line while you leave an inch away from it and on the 12:35 he’s pretty much closer to the track marker than you. Anyway great driving keep up the good work

Normally you would use the whole track width, but this is like you're in the middle of a walmart parking lot, and you have no orientation, except some far landmarks, with a weirdly small pov angle bumper cam, from in front of the car, whose will always be different, depending on your entry angle. Apex is out of sight for like 10 seconds.
