Regarding the weight and power of the motor it's 2.8kg and 2.3kw and the old model is 2.7kg and 2kw. I managed to find out through my local dealer. So a nice little power upgrade with marginal weight difference 👍🏻
@@mikedaygm that's exactly what I thought, I think the original was powerful enough so this new one should be a beast! All that extra rubber looks really nice.
I am the same with regard to strimmer rotation! I tried for two years to learn clockwise, but I repeatedly, painfully failed. Thank you for demonstrating these. 💯
I've grown use to angling the trimmer left side up ↖️ and throwing away for years...clockwise it throws into my face😂...so had to angle left side down ↙️ when walking forward so prefer anti clockwise
Thanks for a great very informative video, i was unsure which power head to go for but the anti clock strimmer direction has made my mind up to go for the newer option, thankyou for such great plan talking videos and excellent advice 👍
I have to admit I was skeptical about EGO but after trying it, I should have bought it years ago, I can't believe how simple and with ease it takes to switch them out, and get your yard work done, I love it.
Finally got mine a couple days ago, what a beast! Couldn't believe the power on speed 2 strimming through think long grass! Really like the handle and ergonomics compared to the old model, the trigger is much better and it seems to be way more responsive 👍🏻
Can't wait to get it here in the States, I'm excited for the same reason you are, for the spinning direction, I love ego products except for the trimmer for the clockwise rotation... but now they got it right in my opinion.
Ah man this video couldn't have come at a better time! Literally spent last week trying to find out a bit more about the new Power head as there's not much info on the Ego website. Hoping my local dealer has stock soon aswell...
Which brand would you recommend when it comes to garden tools, Husqvarna or Ego? Looking to get a full set, including leaf blower and everything. Thanks mate
Hi mate, loving the van setup from the initial clip. Do you have any videos on the setup? I've just started a garden maintenance business with ego power+ tools and got myself a van so would like to get some ideas from yours if possible as it looks really neat 👌
Great video, I just purchased this unit and really like it! Also got the Snow Shovel Attachment!! Does anyone find it takes a bit of wiggling to get the attachments inserted properly? Maybe I just have to get used to the process or I am doing it wrong? TIA
Hi Mike, two questions. Can you explain you preference for anticlockwise vs clockwise and secondly, do you know if Ego are going to do a pack including the new motor head plus several attachments like they do with the older model? Thanks!
What is the model number of that new trimmer please? I bought the new multi head and shortly going to buy the snow shovel attachment. For summer I notice too. All attachments don’t work on all systems. I just need the snow shovel , that trimmer ? , and the brush cutter to work with the new head. Does the brush cutter work with it as well ? Could not get a kit with batteries for that head. Oh darn !
What’s the “E” in the model number? Can only find 1420 model. Local dealer can’t find either. I just want to make sure I get correct one. Is the counter clock wise attachment have a different model number? I live in US not sure if that is why. Ty
What kind of battery is recommended for this machine. I will probably purchase this and the mower (with which I will get 4 Ah battery). I saw 1 review that pot Ego string trimmer on the last spot because of the weight of the battery which caused the machine to rotate if you had it rotated 90 degrees for edging. Ty
Anyone have the ph1400 and ph1420? Was it worth the upgrade? I can get the edger and 1400 tools only for $20 less than just the 1420 by itself… I basically think I’ll be using the unit as a hedge trimmer.
Hi there. Just watched your video on the new ego 1420 power head. I noticed the motor has a high pitch wine in low position, which you had mentioned. I have heard this observation on other you tube videos from other people. You wondered if the wine would go away after the tool was used and it was “broke in”. Did you notice any difference in the high pitch wine after using the tool for a bit ? I am waiting on a delivery of the new power head. I am hoping the wine goes away.
@@mikedaygm no worries Mike. I’ve been in possession of the Husq stuff for like 3 months haha, but was embargoed until the 14th. Nice valentines for some 😂😂
The annoying little stick off to the side isn't intended as a handle. That little stick is a guard intended to prevent the unit from kicking back into the operator when used with a brush cutter blade attachment. Feel quite free to delete that if it's in your way.
That's a good point Billy. I know the new power head has more power but it would all come down to the way the gearing is wired up to run in the actual trimmer gearbox itself. Let me test this out for you!
Having a separate electric powerload on a shaft driven head is MASSIVELY APPRECIATED. This is the upgrade I've been waiting for......I'm not a fan of the Line-IQ which feeds line too unpredictabily
Thanks so much! I didn’t even think about the head rotation, I would have been pissed if I bought the older model. This help a lot, in product details on their website it doesn’t focus on these details and couldn’t tell what the differences were. Thanks again.
I really hate that power feed system it sucks . I bought one used it 1 time when I put the line in it just made noise as the line did not feed in the head . I talked to the employee he said he had the same problem . So I’m sure that will not last .
Not for me mate . I have an ego 2135e and I love it but their hand held stuff isn’t up to scratch compared to Stihl . The batteries are far far to heavy and they change size as you go up in AH where as with stihl there isn’t a great different in weight and no different in size when you go up in AH . This for me is a big no no , especially when you’re hedge cutting all day
I have got quite a few Ego tools but I must agree about the battery size and weight. You can use the backpack link I'm not really into having to deal with cables etc.
Terrible! Why do people like anti clockwise? unless you're a lefty clockwise is more natural. Hopefully they continue to offer both its one of the reasons I swapped my Milwaukee to Ego.
