My Ego has the same motor symptom. It even spins occasionally. Unfortunately, none of the TPH4R008NH is short. The fuse is fine too.

@@adamhutchins2827 if it happens when you press the trigger, then probably shorted MOSFETs.

My stopped working , lights didn’t even turn on on battery either and figured out the wee fuse is blown at bottom! Cause I did a little trick with pliers and touched the two ends at same time and pressed the trigger and motor spun with a few sparks coming from pliers! 😅 only problem is , I can’t seem to get that 50a fuse anywhere to replace it, warranty is out too! Im from uk too!

Where can I get your PCB holder? I like the heavy base.
Thanks for the tips on removing ICs. I just got a hot air rework station and failed my first SMT IC replacement... Most likely due to overheating. I liked your idea to mix in low temp solder (which is all I have).

Yeah factory RoHS lead-free solder is impossible to work with! And cold round solder joints have a tiny contact patch against your iron initially, so there's little heat transfer potential. Everyone says not to melt solder directly on your iron and I say that's nonsense. You melt Sn/Pb fluxcore onto your iron to make a conforming blob that can transfer heat over greater surface area, AND transfer flux, AND alloy with the existing material, all at once!
Both of my vices are from PanaVise. I was fortunate to pick them up at an estate sale. I recommend setting up an alert via eBay/Craigslist/Marketplace. They're so nice!
