      Excessive calories turn into fat regardless of where they cane from! ,but sugar and calories from processed foods will definitely get you there quicker!!

    Another way to skyrocket your HDL levels is to increase your saturated fat intake..like, grass-fed red meat, grass-fed ghee or butter. My HDL was 32, although i was exercising regularly.. Since i started my Ketogenic lifestyle on 6/2022, and i started eating healthy fats like real EVOO, fatty fish like wild wild-caught Salmon and sardines, and increase my saturated fat intake by eating grass-fed red meat, chicken with the skin on and eating grass-fed ghee and butter. As a result, my triglycerides dropped from 111 to 66 and my HDL increased from 32 to 64...My triglycerides/HDL ratio is a very heart healthy 1.03, which signals insulin sensitivity or no insulin resistance.

    İts basically a alarm signal that your lifestyle is not optimal. İf cortisol is to high it will signal your body a fight/flight response saying the body is in danger please raise bloodsugar and triglycerides to survive. So you have to drink, sleep, think, breath, move, eat right. İf you sleep is not in rythm with the sun -> stress, if you think too negative -> stress, -> if you move to much or to less -> stress, if you do not drink quality water in good amount -> stress, if you do not eat organic food according to your body type -> stress, if you do not breath right -> stress.
    Stress has many faces and cortisol is linked to every body process.

    Spirulina and cod liver oil are the best for cholesterol, triglycerides, watch Drs. Eckberg, Berg and Berry. Mine were sooo high, Dr put me in pharma meds. I got so scared, researched and wow next blood work came back “normal”. Dr took me off the med. I also did do activities like walking, running, HIITs a few days a week, like 20 to 40 minutes. Ooh wait… I do IF, too, except on the weekends. Reduced sugar intake. Every little thing you do, be it one by one but keeping at it, will make a difference. Of course, I told dr what I was doing. Surprisingly enough she encouraged me to keep at it.

    Please explain high triglycerides and cholesterol on the carnivore diet with no carbs. I am fit, active woman but triglycerides went to the roof on carnivore

    • @Joe_Leech
      @Joe_Leech  6 місяців тому +1

      Triglycerides and total cholesterol can be driven by high fat intake, one requirement of being ketogenic on the carnivore diet (to get enough energy intake).

    • @michaelray5437
      @michaelray5437 5 місяців тому +2

      Total cholesterol and ldl both will be higher on any ketogenic diet but in a non pathological manner assuming low triglycerides. With them being high, I would reason there may be a chance of pathogenesis of heart disease even on a low carb diet, but the cause of those triglycerides being high while on a carnivore diet is likely hypoinsulinemia, which different individuals will have different genetic susceptibilities to while eating no/very low carb. Some people are fine with very long bouts of no carbs at all, but you may be particularly sensitive to having too low of insulin. So, I would suggest eating some amount of carbohydrate at some regularity, daily or a few times a week, whichever you'd prefer. If you want to maintain strict carnivore then you can use milk but I see things such as honey or fruit as beneficial and the carbohydrate load of milk may be inadequate by itself to stimulate your insulin needs. If you want to learn more about carbohydrates on a carnivore or animal centric diet then I suggest looking in to the recent work of Paul Saladino, although I think you can be more lenient with starches like potatoes and rice and wheat than he is without it negatively affecting health. Just maintain a high fat/relatively low carb diet, rather than eating large amounts of carbs and fats, but a no carb diet may be harmful for you with your specific genetics or your lifestyle. Physical activity tends to increase need for carbohydrate for ideal health, and physical inactivity tends to decrease need for carbohydrate.

      Thank you for your reply.
      I went back to my regular food, organic fruits, berries, fermented veggies, raw honey, raw milk and my blood work is fantastic. I am fit, active woman. I was mortified to see my triglycerides so high on carnivore. Saturated fats DO RAISE the triglycerides. Unfortunately, pretty much none of the carnivore propagandists discuss THIS issue with triglycerides and cholesterol levels going UP ON CARNIVORE. This makes these (not) "know-it-all" completely not credible anymore
