After much research and numerous attempts of trial and error, I have found a perfect set up for the Samson G Track Pro. If you use everything included in the video this is GUARANTEED TO WORK.
If you have any questions at all please let me know in the comments and I will respond as soon as possible.

Apparently, there are different versions of the SP04, and some have been reported to not work with the G Track Pro. While I cannot validate this, I ask you to use the link I provided in the description as this is where I purchased the SP04 myself and I can confirm without a doubt it works perfectly for my device. - Наука та технологія
Update, this setup is freaking perfect, thank you man! It's exactly what I needed.
I purchased the G-Track Pro, SP04 Shockmount, and MBA 48 boom arm based on the advice in this video. It was easy to assemble. The setup looks good, captures good sound, and feels durable. Thank you for publishing this video, Lucky Ace.
The SP04 also doesn't have its sides getting in the way of the knobs/buttons
This was most helpful, straight to the point and I'm so greatful for the time you saved me on looking for the right boom arm. Keep doing what you love mate!
Dude this was perfect I was gonna get the g track pro but I wasn’t sure on which stuff to get with it and then I saw this video. Very helpful video. Thanks!
Very glad I could help! I was in the same boat, there was no guidance anywhere on what would work with this mic.
Thank you so much. You just saved me hours and hours of searching through garbage and a lot of money wasting trying to see what works and what doesn't. Appreciated.
My G-Track pro came without the boom arm adapter. Thanks to this video, I went for the SP04 and MBA28. Full Samson combo awaits. Thank you.
Just what I was looking for... thank you. Nicely done.
Thanks man! i was looking for a mic stand and this was all i could find in terms of guidance good shit keep it up
This is exactly what I needed to see! you freaking hit it on the mark, Thank you!
Dude this helps out soooo much I've been looking for a new mic with a boom arm. This is the only video like this on UA-cam
FlexplayZ thank you (:
This review is everything I'm glad this came right up when searching
Thanks for the info. I just order the MBA38 and the SP04 for my G-Track Pro and was starting to doubt my selection. After seeing your video, I am more confident I made the right choice. Thanks!
Hart Sports Video definitely made the right choice! If you have any questions let me know brotha
Best video on the subject that i have found yet, thank you sir.
thanks for the information. I've had this mic twice and I'm ready to get it again. This is the set up I'll get.
Got both of these and it works great! thank you for the recommendation
After a year of searching for a shockmount that would fit into my samson gtrack pro. Great to see your video tutorial! Already subscribed bro. I hope I could save money to buy an SPO4 shockmount and a boom arm. Thanks for this bro!
No problem! It was such a pain getting all of this set up so I am glad that I was able to help you.
Thank you man, I will definitely get the shock mount you recommended. The one I had originally planned to get was the SP01. I have already ordered an arm, but f it doesn't support the weight then I will get one of the ones you suggested.
I have a super close setup to yours and glad you made this video
Really happy I stumbled across this video! I have a g track pro as well and I've just been using its desk stand cause I didn't know what to buy cause of how hefty the mic is. Thanks!
Glad to help! Lmk how it goes (:
I was just thinking about getting it but I just couldn't find the other things I was going to need. This is really helped out so I dropped a sub and like. I hope you keep up the content
KNG Wild thank you so much! Glad I could help (:
Just got mine today SP04 and the MBA38 perfect fit. Thanks for your review. 8/14/21
You talked my into it. Just ordered mine today!
Your video is spot on. thanks for the recommendation.
ya this was exactly what I needed, thanks dawg
Man... THANK YOU! This is valuable content!
Thank you (:
Well done! Thanks for clearing that up!!
No problem! Glad you enjoyed
Perfect fr I need this so bad because i hit my dest too much man ur awesome!
Thank you for this!
"There is a silver threading in the SP04 end. Use a coin to screw it out, then it should fit to the MBA28 end. Hope that helps!"
This is a copied comment for anyone having trouble with the boom arm adapter not fitting into the shock mount female end
This helped my issue. Thank you and thanks to the author of the video!
Thanks so much for that - this is the comment I was looking for
Excellent video, thank you for all the details! it's very good to know that we should avoid the silver too. I want you to know I double checked inside the box and there is an adapter that will let you screw this mic onto a standard mic stand, at least in the box I received two days ago.
If your boom stand and shock mount are connected to a desk, you're going to get noise touching the desk no matter what anyway, so I don't know that I would even recommend getting a shock mount.
just got my set up, incredible video man
Very helpful video! Thanks bud.
Thanks so much for your video. Definitely helped me out!
You’re welcome (:
This is exactly what I needed thanks man
No problem! If you have any other questions just let me know! I’m here to help.
Thanks for the heads up on the SP01.
No problem, save your money.
this is really awesome thank you for this!!
ayy bro you a real one for this thank god this was the video i been looking for
💯
Yo this helped a lot thanks for the great video I ordered the g track pro yesterday I was look for a boom arm and found a great video.
Hello Captain , were you able to hook up MBA38 to SPO4? I am a bit lost. SPO4 cap looks smaller to fit the thick silver screw.
@@ramakrishnankulasekaran3294 Yes, I have MBA48 with SP04 spider shockmount (samson) , the SP04 spider shockmount has a silver screw already in mount just remove it and the mount will fit perfectly on the MBA38
@@BADxSNAKE Thank you!!
Thanks. This was helpful on many respects. I am taking all your advice.
Thank you 🙏🏾
This video was very informative which accessories to get for the Samson G Track Pro. Thanks!
Thanks man I really wanted this microphone was just confused on which stuff to get with it
You’re welcome (:
i just bought everything in this video thank you so much
No problem 🤍
Mans out here doing gods work lol
Good shit man
Thanks brother, I appreciate your video
Thank you! 🙏🏾
Great video! Thank you!!!
I got a good boom arm and the mics been great but I completely agree with the shock mount. I only got the SP01 and I’m definitely going to get the SP04 now. Thanks for the clear and useful video:) keep going with your content
OOGALAHOOGABOOG yesss! The shock mount is so important and the SP01 just doesn’t cut it. Glad you enjoyed the video brotha!
theluckyace23 no worries. Also my mic is now kind of loosely stuck in this crappy shock mount. And the bottom is hard as hell to turn to loosen it out, is there anything to help this?!
OOGALAHOOGABOOG that is EXACTLY what happened to me, I just kept trying to turn it and eventually it popped off. Grab the mic with one hand and twist the opposite way while you try to loosen the bottom of the shockmount. I won’t lie though, it took me a good 10 minutes to get it off after it had gotten stuck.
Nice and informative.
tysm this helped a lot !
Thanks, really helpful
Perfect!
thanks for the video really helpful ! :D
This is supposed to be an excellent USB microphone, but beyond what comes in the box, it's such a tricky setup with no official guide from Samsom. However, you did the research, trial, and error, so thank you very much.
Of course! Thank you so much for tuning into the video (:
Good stuff. i also like your cell funko pop
Great vid man thanks for the vid
Fernando Avila ty brotha 🙏🏾
I bought the SP04 Shockmount and the MBA 38 boom arm based on this vid, to complement my amazing G-Track Pro; excited for them to arrive, thank you for the detailed review and great info! ETA: The boom arm (MBA 38) is super strong and sturdy, just as you said. The Samson SPO4 Shockmount doesn't hold the mic whatsoever, the threads are incredible shallow and barely catch a hold of it before they pop off. I don't recommend the SPO4.
So what do you recommend ?
What shock mount are you using ?
Appreciate it!
Thanks bro i love it
Abrarul Haque ty brotha I appreciate you
Congrats, bruh, and thnx. Perfect info for me. I've had my #GTrackPro for over a year and it's still not on a stand. Smh. Now i know which shockmount to get 4sure. Getting it now, got the stand a couple weeks ago.
Ritch Wilson ty brotha, glad I could help you out!
Thx man
Thank you very much, should have watch this before losing time ordering the rode shockmount (that doesn't fit at all) !
No problem! And yea this mic is EXTREMELY picky... just got rid of it not too long ago
Thanks
Pop filters can be DIY cheap but professionally built.
Crochet frame with an inner/outer ring, some felt fabric from crafstore and flexible mounting wires.
Less than 10.00 and as professional, functional and mountable on pretty much anything.
You are a fkn legend
MrTristanguy thank you my man! If you need anything else just let me know.
Bro thanks for this great video. Hey quick question. What level should the mic gain be?
I love you for this! WHERE THE NEXT VID AT THO
SOON I PROMISE 🙏🏾
@@theluckyace sooo Idk if I trust the B&H website for the shock mount is it legit and safe? And do you know if the sp04 spider shock mounts are compatible with this mic ?
@@BassNappr Very safe, B&H is a huge computer part retailer in America. And yes it is compatible, at least the one you get from B&H
thanks this video helped m8
No problem brotha! If you have any questions at all let me know.
Thank you for the video. I read some very negative customer reviews on Amazon about the SP04. It looks like the mic could fall if you use it in the shock mount pointing down. Do you have experience with this? I'm slightly anxious since that would be my use case with the mic (So it's not showing in webcam footage during video calls).
With this setup, are you able to have the mic standing upright as opposed to on its side? Also, do you have any ideas on how to use an isolation shield with this setup?
I have the exact same shockmount and the exact same boom arm but the shock mount doesn't connect to the boom arm? How did you get them to connect to each other because I bought 4 separate adapters and still thing thing has been sitting on my desk without a microphone since December
great video. Still unclear to me. if the shock mount that I have sp04 doesn't fit the samson boom arm. Do I need to swap out the boom arm?
Hey thanks for the vid man! But I have a issue and dont know what to do. I bought the sp04 and the 28 inch arm, but the screw in for the arm is too big for the sp04 to sit on it and now I cant use it
Thanks for this, bro. On point, and exactly what I needed to know. Just one question: Some describe the buttons as “wobbly”. What would you say?
Thank you brotha! The buttons to me are not wobbly at all. They are very stiff and controlled and you can really get the precise setting you want with them. I would not consider them wobbly or loose in any way, it is possible that they may get that way over time however but I have had the mic for three months and so far I have not had these issues.
TheLuckyAce23
Great to hear. Thanks!
The shock mount piece that connects to the boom arm I know you have to unscrew the smaller screw nut insert but doing so when I screw it on to the boom arm it’s loose like it doesn’t stop twisting and if you’re moving the mic around twisting it you can potentially twist it off this is my problem,
Thanks for the great info. I recently bought a G Track Pro and I can’t find a SP04 Shockmount for the life of me. They’re on backorder or unavailable everywhere I see. Do you happen to have an extra I can buy off you??
I do now! If you are interested in getting it let me know and I will email you.
@@theluckyace Do you still have?
Awesome video. Here’s my question to you, bro. How is that stand still holding up with so much weight from that microphone? Is it still holding up because I’m about to make an order if it’s still holding up for you after so long. I’m curious please let me know.
Any recommendations on any other pop filters for this mic?
I just bought the SP04 shockmount and mine did not thread into the MBA38 boom arm. Did you have to use an adapter for yours?
do u know if the spo4 is compatible with the mba28?
Can you make one showing how you screw in the boom arm to the shock mount? I am unable to put the boom arm into the mount.
Help! MBA38 the silver screw looks bigger at the end is not fitting SP04 shock mount. Any suggestions?
Hey so my gtrack pro didn't come with an adapter. I got the MBA28 boom arm but I can't connect it because I don't have the adapter. Will it be possible to connect the boom arm to the shock mount, and the shock mount the mic without the need of an adapter?
Thumbs up #169 for the excellent review! You showed how easily the knobs on the front and the ports on the back are easily accessible (around 2:03-2:18) with the SP04, but then I noticed that the knobs and ports seem to be slightly blocked after the SP04 and microphone are attached to the boom arm (around 6:53-7:03). Can the position of the microphone or SP04 be adjusted for unobstructed access to those knobs and ports after they've been mounted on the boom arm? Thank you.
Yes the position can be moved to make it completely unobstructed! You just have to turn the mic a little and if need be adjust the shock mount itself (which I did after making the video) but now the knobs are completely unobstructed and in front of me.
@@theluckyace Thank you, sir! I truly appreciate your quick and positive response.
Question, it seems like the SP04 shock mount doesnt directly go onto the 38 inch arm? Am I missing something? The piece doesnt seem to directly screw on
Great video! Thanks for sharing. Where did you get the SP04 shock mount? I cannot find one anywhere.
ESBFett I actually had to order it on back order through Adorama and didn’t get it for about a month and a half.
B and H has it. But double check your box 1st. you may find the adapter you're looking for. it's not a shock mount but it will get you connected to the stand with no problem.
I got the mba38 stand and a sp04 shock mount but how do i atta h it to the boom arm? The metal screwy thing is too large for my shock mount and please help!!!!!
I'm debating on getting this mic or the Rhode NT USB mic for rapping idk which one I should get because one a lot of the vids I've seen everybody praises the Rhode mic
the rhodes mic is more so for filming videos where you will be a nice distance away from the mic. I would imagine that you will be pretty close to the mic when rapping and if that is the case definitely go with the G Track Pro.
Hey i want to use this mic for a live recording i was wondering if i can screw this shock mount to a regular mis stand?
I bought the SP04 and the MBA38 and it doesnt work for me. The shock mount wont attach to the boom arm. Anyone able to help me out? The screw on the boom arm is too big for the hole on the shock mount
Very helpful video. I'm thinking about buying this one. Two questions:
1) Is it good for noise rejection (here I'm also talking about the sound from the laptop itself)?
2) Do you need a shock mount and/or boom arm, or is the stand enough?
As far as noise rejection is concerned I would say it is wonderful. If you head over to my twitch (in the description) and check out any of my latest videos you can see for yourself if the level of background noise rejection suits your needs. Keep in mind however, I do not have any filter on for background noise, as I have found that it dramatically decreases the quality of your audio. Even when some background noise gets through it is very faint and cannot be heard over the gameplay.
As far as the mic stand that comes with the G Track Pro is concerned, I would say it is up to you and how comfortable you are with it. I was forced to use the mic stand for about two months due to COVID-19 delaying shipments, so I got a pretty good feel for how it was using it. For me, I was able to position the mic in front of my keyboard because I had enough room, but since the mic was still below head level I had to do one of two things to get better audio, I had to either turn up the mic input (which would increase background noise and make me peak more often) or I had to bend over and speak into the microphone which of course was HORRIBLE for my neck.
I really would not recommend positioning the mic behind your keyboard because if you do so you would HAVE to turn up the mic input and since the keyboard is in front of the mic it will pick it any little sound you make.
Since you have a laptop however, you would be forced to put the mic in front of the laptop and to that I would say to just keep in mind this microphone is definitely big and will obstruct your view of your laptop and keyboard. It also gets in the way whenever you type or try to hit certain keys.
I definitely prefer the boom arm over the mic stand any day of the week. Not only is it much more comfortable, but I can also position the mic right in front of me to get the best quality audio as possible.
TheLuckyAce23
Thank you very much. Your answer has definitely convinced me to get the boom arm. I will follow the link in the description.
Again, great and detailed video.
Martin M thank you brotha 🙏🏾, have a wonderful day! Glad I could help.
What pop filter is that and where did u obtain?
Got the SP01 based on a recommendation from an online thread.. Wish I woulda watched your video. Although, it seems the SP04 is completely unavailable from what I can find.
Yes, I found a LOT of misinformation online about this mic which is why I wanted to make the vid. Any update on the SP04 yet?
Finally received my Sp04 but the thread that attaches it to the MBA48 is too small. Any idea what's going on with that?
Yes it comes that way. If you look at the thread you should see a cutout where a flat head screwdriver or a coin would fit, you can remove this smaller thread in place for the bigger one.
Just curious, do you need to shock mount (SP04)? What does the shock mount do and if I choose not to get the shock mount would it still attach the the boom arm you suggested in the video?
I haven't gotten my mic yet, but I've been reading a lot before forking over $200 for all the equipment. The mic will connect directly to the boom arm without a shock mount. The purpose of a shock mount is to absorb vibrations that could either damage the mic or that could cause the mic to pick up unwanted sounds such as from movement on the table/desk that the boom arm is attached to.
i got the samson q2u, what shock mount on a budget is compatible with it?
Awesome video and information! Question- did you need a longer usb cord?
i have it and the default length is long enough id say like 4 ft
where do i get this pop protection für this mic?
Can i use it without shockmouth? Is thrue, no info about that things. Thanks!
I know this video is a few months old, but one thing that I've seen many people fail to notice/mention is that there is a windscreen built into this microphone.
Excellent video, thank you luckyace!
do i have to buy the shock mount for it too work? please answer my question
