i purchased both the MBA38 boom arm and the SP04 shockmount but the shockmount wont fit in the boom arm? i need help please

Why does everyone skip over HOW to attach the SP04 to the boom arm? I bought all this stuff because everyone describes it as the "ideal setup" but they DO NOT FIT. I've seen several people say they have the same problem and one person said it was because one of their parts they received was the UK version (which is different?). I bought everything from Amazon US, so what am I missing? I keep thinking I finally have all the components and then discover I need yet another adapter. Help!

I bought the SP04 Shockmount and the MBA 38 boom arm based on this vid, to complement my amazing G-Track Pro; excited for them to arrive, thank you for the detailed review and great info! ETA: The boom arm (MBA 38) is super strong and sturdy, just as you said. The Samson SPO4 Shockmount doesn't hold the mic whatsoever, the threads are incredible shallow and barely catch a hold of it before they pop off. I don't recommend the SPO4.

I don’t think you mentioned the cable brotha..of course you’ll need a longer one to run down the boom arm and it’s a lotta knockoff cables out here. which one did you get?

So I know shit all about mics and boom arms and blah blah blah but I’ve been finding out a lot of stuff about mics and arms and EQ’ing in the last week since acquiring my own Samson G Track Pro mic. Anyway, I can understand the appeal of this video. Especially for the shock mount solution but for those of you who don’t really want to settle on this boom arm because maybe (like me) you saw a much cooler and professional looking one somewhere else such as the blue yeti compass arm, or the El Gato wave mic arm, or even some random cool looking IXTECH or Donner boom arm off of Amazon… yes, YES, you can possibly get one of those. Why do I say possibly? Because it’s possible that one of those boom arms does not support the weight of the Samson G Track Pro, so if you have a food scale, Or something like that it would be very useful to weigh your Samson. For some reason I cannot find the weight of the microphone without the stand anywhere online and at the moment, I do not have a food scale so i’ll get around as to how I am “measuring” it for now near the bottom of this comment lol Anyway, if you’re wondering how it’s quite possible that you may be able to go with just about any microphone boom arm of your choosing (when not factoring in weight restrictions) it’s because there is something called a microphone thread adapter. Let me explain this… So, the universally accepted “industry standard” thread size on a boom arm is 1/4th an inch, (A.K.A “quarter of an inch”) so in my case, I’m going to be trying out the El Gato Microphone wave arm which has this standard 1/4th thread size. The problem, is that the thread size needed in order to secure the Samson G track pro is going to be a 5/8th thread, so in my case all I would have to do is buy a “1/4th to 5/8th mic thread adapter” for a few dollars and voila, the El Gato Wave Arm I want will LIKELY work. All I’ll have to hope for is that my Samson G Track pro’s weight is supported. The El Gato wave arm says it supports up to 2.2 lbs. i’ve held two water bottles that say 16.9 ounces in my right hand (which is very close to 2.2 pounds in total ofc) and my Samson g track pro in my left hand and it would seem that the microphone weighed a little less so I’m going to make an educated guess and say that it’s anywhere between 1.7 to 2.0 lbs. i should note that my Samson also had the pop filter accessory attached at the time. Anyway, that’s all, I really hope I helped some people. SIDE NOTE: The Samson with the stand says it weighs 3.52 lbs all over Google but you can clearly tell that the majority of the weight does in fact come from the stand and not the mc itself when holding each one in a different arm and so, even if the mic and the stand weighed 50/50 the same, that still means that the Samson G Track Pro separated from the stand couldn’t weigh no more than 1.76 lbs (just another way I’ve “weighed” the mic without a food scale. I am confident that it will be able to be mounted nicely onto my Gato Wave Boom Arm, if not oh well.

Thank you for the video. I read some very negative customer reviews on Amazon about the SP04. It looks like the mic could fall if you use it in the shock mount pointing down. Do you have experience with this? I'm slightly anxious since that would be my use case with the mic (So it's not showing in webcam footage during video calls).

Question, it seems like the SP04 shock mount doesnt directly go onto the 38 inch arm? Am I missing something? The piece doesnt seem to directly screw on

I have the exact same shockmount and the exact same boom arm but the shock mount doesn't connect to the boom arm? How did you get them to connect to each other because I bought 4 separate adapters and still thing thing has been sitting on my desk without a microphone since December

Pop filters can be DIY cheap but professionally built. Crochet frame with an inner/outer ring, some felt fabric from crafstore and flexible mounting wires. Less than 10.00 and as professional, functional and mountable on pretty much anything.

Hey bro, I'm trying to hookup the shock mount to my boom arm (I got the 48), but it seems the boom arms 5/8 mic "clip" is too fat for the female end of my shock mount, I think something may have changed, I bought the items from the links you provided. The female part of your shock mount, is it 3/8? I can't tell exactly what mine is because it doesn't say on the box 😅 I think I need to get this mic stand adapter 5/8 to 3/8.... Thanks!

Hi I bought these exact items for my samson gtrack pro mic. But it seems like the end on the MBA28 is too big to screw in the SP04 end. Please help! What do I do?

The shock mount piece that connects to the boom arm I know you have to unscrew the smaller screw nut insert but doing so when I screw it on to the boom arm it’s loose like it doesn’t stop twisting and if you’re moving the mic around twisting it you can potentially twist it off this is my problem,

I got the mba38 stand and a sp04 shock mount but how do i atta h it to the boom arm? The metal screwy thing is too large for my shock mount and please help!!!!!

Hey so my gtrack pro didn't come with an adapter. I got the MBA28 boom arm but I can't connect it because I don't have the adapter. Will it be possible to connect the boom arm to the shock mount, and the shock mount the mic without the need of an adapter?
