      samson, easy

    I may be a little biased (since I recently bought the samson myself), but while the $400 mic has higher sound stability and smooth audio, it's muffled, while the Samson has a much more crisp and clear sound to it, which is further improved with even basic noise reduction software.
    Only downside I can see with the Samson is that it's base attatchment is not standard, so you need to hunt a little to find a stand or shockmount that it fits on.
    Between theprice though, along with the overall quality of the mic, I say the Samson wins.

    • @TheDementedSig
      @TheDementedSig 3 роки тому +1

      The mount hunt is annoying, but at the end of the day, you're basically dealing with a brick, and none of the cheap $10 stands could hold it still unless it just stays on the table after passing that weight limit.
      It's either Samson's arms or something equivalent at that point. A sacrifice for the bulk, but one that's definitely not a dealbreaker.

    • @sylvertonguephoenix
      @sylvertonguephoenix 3 роки тому +1

      @@TheDementedSig Agreed, and the fact that you can get all the hardware you need for the Samson (including the mic) for under $300, boom arm, shock mount, filters, extended USB cord, is a definate plus. With sound treatment and even just some minor filter tweaking, I can't really sense too much of a difference between it, and a $1k mic. And being a musician, the abilityto plug in a piano or guitar is a definate plus. It just supports the fact that higher price doesn'talways mean higher quality.
      It's beyond sufficient... The only disappointment is I had to getthe pop filter seperatelyfrom Amazon, and it took like... 2 or 3 weeks to arrive.

    I mean this in the nicest way possible, for being such a small channel the quality of video and sound is amazing. Great video great review. I went ahead and picked up the Samson! I have a blue yeti and I just don’t like it!

      Thanks for the kind words. I felt the same after getting the Blue Yeti. The Samson has a much warmer tone, and to me, does not sound like a budget microphone like the Yeti does. Just my opinion though.

    As someone who has a full setup with the G-Track Pro, boom arm, popfilters, shock mount, in total with the mic cost about a total of about $250. It's definately worth the cost, and with proper program filters, it can sound better than most high-end super expensive mics.

    • @sylvertonguephoenix
      @sylvertonguephoenix 2 місяці тому

      @@Pro9Brisk I use 2 pop filters, a screen pop filter specifically designed and made for it, and a pop filter sleeve. I'm not sure of the exact type, but 2 filters is more than enough to prevent any plosives from ruining the audio.

    I recommend both honestly, Being a musician and a singer and an artist on the go. I think people are looking at the price and not at the value of the microphone. The G track pro is by far one of the best USB mics I have come across it should be worth more money than what it is in my opinion. Just depends on what you’re doing with it!!! it boils down to your mastering and miixing and the talent you bring to the table 😂..

      The Shure has an external pop filter which blocks out plosives like the ‘P’ sound you are talking about. Pop filters are relatively cheap and will block out those plosives you are hearing.

    I like the clear sound of the Samson g track pro, even I did ordered one already yesterday :) But I agree it depends on what you actually need, for Posdcast and if I have the budget sure I would invest in the sure mic as well, but for voice over, streaming and you tube samson all the way :))

    Daaaaaaaamn, the Samson sounds CLEAAAAAN and actually richer, but of course the more expensive mic has less background noise. There's a sick looking pop filter custom made for the samson for just like $10 on Amazon, about to pick it up after seeing this. The thing about the Samson is that its hella sensitive according to reviewers but in an acoustically treated room, it should sound amazing because of that. I need to get me some more acoustic foam up on my walls fs.
    Also, as for the Shure... I notice this kind of "Hissing" effect whenever you're done talking. I'm not sure what that is.
    It almost like there's this little bit of a "Fabric Rubbing against the Mic" kind of sound that occurs. I can hear it during that last quarter of a second upon you finishing a sentence. I don't even have Monitor Headphones on, just my SONY WH-1000XM4's (which currently go for around $350 USD)
    ============================================================================
    4 Mics that I've seen go toe to toe IMO with richness, crispness and good lows (since watching around 20 different mic reviews) in the past 24 hours are...
    Samson G Track Pro. (Barely edging out the HyperX QuadCast or Blue Yeti X in MOST cases)
    Shure SM7B
    Logitech Blue Sona (A lot of people say it sounds a lot like the Shure SM7B but for $50 less!)
    SE Electronics DynaCaster Dynamic Broadcast Microphone

    Not really a fair comparison - with the Samson you didn't use a pop filter (while complaining about plosives), you were about 6 inches from the mic and you kept turning away from it so the audio dropped out. With the Shure, you were about 3-4 inches away, front on and using a supplied pop filter. I would argue if you put a pop filter on the Samson and recorded straight on with the right gain, you'd find the Samson was a lot clearer and brighter.
