Heart! Ann and Nancy Wilson are THE best power house female rockers... EVER! Start with Barracuda, Alone, Crazy on you, These Dreams. Thanks for the awesome reaction.
They were granted permission from Led Zeppelin to perform covers of their songs. Since they don’t like covers, this cover is tops. Heart is the only band that I’m aware of that was given this honor from Jimmy Page himself.
Ann Wilson was 62 when she performed this in 2012. To get a look at her range, go back to "Crazy On You" from 1975 and then most recently, she did a duet with David Draiman on Disturbed's latest album that dropped in November. She is a freaking goddess and rock legend! You may recognize, "Barracuda." Heart has an amazing catalog of music!
She could belt them out, eg Crazy on You, and Straight On , but had a great “quiet” voice e.g. Dreamboat Annie, Dog & Butterfly. Gifted voice. Her sister, Nancy, was a badass guitarist!
John Bonhams son Jason is playing drums here. It was a total surprise he would be there on purpose. John Bonham and Robert Plant were best friends. Ann and Nancy Wilson were a band called heart. Ann is the singer with the amazing set of pipes. As you can hear--62 at this event and has not lost her vocal power. I get goosebumps listening to this every time.. Crazy on you is a must by them
Not only that, but Jason performs this on his father's original drum kit and wearing John's signature bowler hat in tribute of his late father. Robert Plant is also Jason's godfather.
What a set of pipes on Ann 😱 and at 62yo.. you can really hear the maturity and depth in her voice in that it is, in a word, "Seasoned" 🤷.. absolutely sensational.. the perfect choice to tribute, arguably the greatest rock song of all time by the greatest rockers of all time.. the reaction on the old boys faces say it all!! 🤘🤘
Start with "Barracuda", "Crazy On You", "Magic Man", "Straight On", "Alone", "These Dreams", "All I Want To Do Is Make Love To You"among many others..This version you watched is a shortened version edited for TV..The full length version is up here on UA-cam...Thanks for the reaction..
Enjoyed your reaction. Heart was formed in 1967 by lead guitarist Roger Fisher and bassist Steve Fossen. They auditioned lead vocalist, Ann Wilson, in 1970 and hired her. Her guitarist sister, Nancy, joined in 1974. They released 4 multiplatinum albums in the 1970s, 1980s, 1990s and 2010.
Heart's a band, not just her. They are a 70s hard rock band out of Seattle and actually still play concerts occasionally. According to Casey Kasem on American Top 40, Heart's song "Barracuda" is the first heavy metal song with a female vocalist to enter the Billboard Top 40. They've had a million hits but their most notable are "Barracuda", "Crazy on You", "Magic Man", and "Alone".
Saw Heart back in 1975 in my hometown of Kelowna B.C Canada when they were touring with April Wine and Heart, was back up band, and here Ann sounds the back when I saw her
Those 3 older gentlemen they are showing ARE ZEPPELIN...minus the drummer John Bonham who died in 1980...Jason...his son...did a concert with Zeppelin in 2007...gotta watch Kashmir from that Celebration Day concert...they were all in their 60s and they KILLED that concert!
I like "Little Queen" I think it's called to also so hard to pick a favorite Heart song or "Cray On You" or "These Dreams" where Nancy Sings. You have so been missing out!! They were big mid 70's through the 80's
This is the edited for TV version, there’s a longer full version of their performance that you might want to check out. Ann and Nancy have matching skull rings that they’ve had for a very long time. They were very nervous about this performance because they had been on tour and had to fly up to DC from Florida and only had one rehearsal. They would put their rings together before performances as a sort of good luck charm. Also it was super cold in there, and Nancy had to work to warm up her fingers, and is probably why Ann is wearing her coat.
Heart is an American band from the1970s +/-featuring Anne and Nancy Wilson, who are sisters. In this vid, Heart and the Boston Choir are honoring Led Zeppelin by performing a cover of their original signature song. In further tribute, the son of Led Zeppelin’s late drummer John Bonham, Jason Bonham, is playing drums. A good original version is 1973 Madison Square Garden.😎😁😎🇺🇸
Heart was a great 70s rock band! They did Zeppelin justice here! Heart is the band name...2 siaters. Zeppelin were being honored...the 3 remaining members were the 3 older men they kept showing. You HAVE TO watch Zeppelin live performances!! OMG...and the drummer used here is Jason Bonham...the late Zeppelin drummer's son!! Also do any Heart song...they were a great rock band!
Jack black introduces and tells the story of Led Zeppelin. Then the musicians play different songs from led zeppelin. You have to look at several Kennedy center honors programs because one of them is santana which is wonderful

I know you probably can't do the whole video of the tribute to Led Zeppelin but it does start out with Jack black and then has kid rock and a whole bunch of other people that are given the tribute but heart kills it at the end they're awesome
I got to know Heart's 80's and 90's stuff.. Never, What About Love, These Dreams, Alone, All I Wanna Do is Make Love to You. xo and ya.. to me they're living music godess's.
The reason Robert Plant teared up was because he was thinking of his best friend John Bonham as he watched Jason John's son playing the same drum kit his father played. Also Robert Plant asked Jason to be with them in the audience to represent his father. But Jason said he'd love to come but he had a gig that night and couldn't get out of. Thats why in the beginning Robert atood up and pointed down at Jason.
For some reason, the "original video" has the vocal track a bit quiet (like a limiter is on). If you are interested you can watch/listen to this version of the video: ua-cam.com/video/LFxOaDeJmXk/v-deo.html
I assume your music background is very limited by not knowing who heart is, may be a little bit of education on your part would help but not ruin the surprise
Queens honoring Kings

And if you saw the interview with Ann and Nancy, Ann mentions that she was fighting the flu at the time! What a set of pipes.
Anne is a rock & roll goddess, as well as sister Nancy...
She could belt them out, eg Crazy on You, and Straight On , but had a great “quiet” voice e.g. Dreamboat Annie, Dog & Butterfly. Gifted voice. Her sister, Nancy, was a badass guitarist!
And she was also sick with the flu while she was performing.
She's unbelievable, I swear she will never lose her voice. "All I want to do is make love to you " is my favorite..its an incredible song!

Love those sisters. 🔥
Jack Black also introduced the opening of this tribute to the 3 remaining Zeppelin members with "Led Zeppelin...greatest rock band ever!"
loved Jack Black's intro.

Nah, stay away from "All I Wanna Do..." Ann despises that song.
Ann and Nancy Wilson, are sisters that make up Heart. Both stellar in their craft!
Led Zeppelin is for all generations- just jump down that rabbit hole- its fun to discover new old jams
Anne and Nancy Wilson are Rock Goddesses.
Heart , in addition to being a premier rock band, they were always known for their great Zep covers as well.
Ann Wilson was often mentioned over the decades as the female equivalent of Robert Plant of LZ.
Great show. Heart-Barracuda . Cheers🎉
Love Heart seen them 3 times in concert.

Barracuda. Ann Wilson is a rock goddess from the 70s
Ann Wilson is singing, and her sister Nancy is the blonde guitarist.
If you want a harder sounding Heart song, I would recommend Black on Black II.
Heart is a rock group and also in the Rock n" Roll HOF...
Heart is a band...not a her. Sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson started the band Heart. They're a rabbit hole worth diving into.
Yeah the utility bills here in Chicago are outrageous too!! 😢

Heart is also the only band that Led Zeppelin has granted permission to do covers of their songs.
