Hi everyone! Ok so I did some research and called the number for Ion on the box because I wanted to know what the tones were on each swatch for each color so here they are: Icy white has a blue base, Platinum Lace is a neutral, Snow Cap is a grey/silver base, Spring Blossom is a pink base and Lavender Moon is a violet base, all of these are Demi to be used with a 10v for toning, not lifting! And for my bleach blonde ladies that bleach there roots, Ion has a creme bleach lightner called Brite white, it is amazing I used it yesterday on my level 6 root and worked awesome! I used the Ion equivalent to Olaplex and holy crap! I am truly impressed!!! Hope this helps!!
TiLi Beauty one question 20 peroxide Will do ok or not
Cassie Coock you can use 20, it will lift another level of your hair but it will also deposit the tone into the hair as well making it a permanent color. So let's say you use violet on very pale yellow root area using a 20v will lift it to almost white and deposit that purple tone so you will have purple roots! Depending on how long you leave it on for .Hope that helps!

I am in *love* with this toner. I did the Spring Blossom and got exactly what I've been looking for. Lovely shade that isn't silver, nor pink. Just a lovely pale beige platinum - really a nice warm platinum with no gold.
I went to Sally's right after I saw this video and found it no problem. It worked sooo good! I have never really liked the wella toners so I am very happy to have another option. Thanks for posting!

Melissa Ambrose after I used it, it did make my hair very shiny and soft even though I bleached it to a very light blonde before I applied the color. I would totally recommend this color!

I have been trying to bleach out the red in my hair and I have commented a few times on your videos and I have FINALLY achieved what I was going for. It took a good 3-4 months of bleach, dye,bleach,dye,bleach,tone but I have gotten all of the red tones out of my hair! I thank you and your videos for giving me all the information I needed! The toner videos helped me so much and I am seriously so glad I found your videos. After About 12 years of horrible box dye and multiple red box dyes at that I have gotten my perfect blonde. My hair is still in tact! I got trims after each bleach and some of your products from your damaged hair videos and those saved me some disastrous times with my hair. Thank you so much for your videos!
So I went to my local Sallys after seeing this and growing very tired of my yellow brassy hair. Needless to say it worked out great! Wasnt as light as I thought it would be but evened out my color nicely and helped a lot with the brassiness! I appreciate you uploading this!!

Recently used this product twice. The first time I used it my roots had pulled very orange and I panicked and applied the toner all over my head and left it on for 10 minutes. My roots toned down considerably but were still gold and the rest of my hair was super drab grey. I waited a week or so then rebleached my roots and got them pale yellow then I applied the toner with 10 volume to my damp hair at the roots first then after my roots were covered I pulled the toner through to the ends for about 5ish minutes probably a total of 10 minutes tops toning. The results the second time was a perfectly light silvery platinum that I am absolutely in love with. This toner is great but is deceptively super pigmented even though the toner doesn't turn as purple as wella

I literally went to Sally's the day after I watched your video and got some too- I freaking love it. Leaves my hair softer than using the wella toner it also wasn't too purple or blue, I got a great result. I did wash with a cleansing shampoo right after and it was toned perfectly without looking muddy or dull. This will be my go-to from now on, thank you!!!! 🙌🏼😅

it really depends on how much you need to tone. like in the video, jess didnt leave it on for more than 5 minutes, but the directions say 30-40 minutes. i would just watch it and see how it develops. it will also fade with each wash

In the natural light, your hair was FI-YAH! Love it. I want to try this stuff, my hair is like a level 8-9 and I have some brass, I think if I hook this up with the Wella developer for the demi permanent (it might be like 5 vol.), it'll darken it up a bit, which I don't mind, but it'll knock the brass right out. Thanks for posting!

I used the same toner mine came out great no more wella for me. I also got snow cap which has a violet base and platinum lace has a ash tone. also how long did you leave yours on for??

the same exact demi/toner that I just used last week ...after a few days I was tired of the ashy silver look and just used dawn dish liquid and some baking soda to make it fade faster lol now its almost perfect! one regular wash should do the trick for me.... and it doesnt come out as advertised on the swatch but it does work....fast too lol

You should try the Spring Blossom toner I just tried it last night to retone my hair in between root touch ups and it's gorgeous I put it 1:2 with 10 volume for 10 minutes and it is a beautiful pale beige with just the faintest of a pink cast it's a very pretty shade

I like this color too. I'm a licenced cosmetologist and decided to do my whole head this color. (But less silver) so I bought the exact same color and used it as a toner mixing it one part color, two parts peroxide (10v). And it turned out so good! I'm obsessed! First I bleached my whole head to a pale, pale yellow, then washed the bleach out. I kind of look dried my hair a little bit so that it was damp, and then I applied this toner. it turned out exactly like this watch looked. I am stoked! It looks like a platinum- white - blonde. I'd recommend this toner for people who want to have platinum hair. You could also mix the color and equal parts and apply to dry hair like she did then you can get more of a silver Hue to the color.😍

Kamryn Young I don't remember how long exactly I left it in for but it was not more than 15 minutes. What I like to do is watch in the mirror and watch it change. Once it's the color that I like, I wait a couple more minutes and then I wash it just to make sure that the color really gets in there. Sometimes it'll look more silvery while the color is on your hair then once the color is rinsed out. I'm doing it again right now and I am totally stoked because I love it!

i used snow cap mixed with ultra blue with 20 v and left it on for 20 min on my extremely long natural curly level 8-10 blonde colored hair. I loved the results, and it looks like an icy silvery white, with a blue tint to it. I will def try some of the other toners from ION. All I use is Ion products anyways!
Question: did you bleach or use high lift color on your hair before using this toner?

Can i just say-u are saving my hair (which is like 705 of my personality). Ok so I just went to a stylist who said"don't worry blonde is MY THING!" and then charged me 150 bucks to bleach my hair when I wanted a balyage anyway. It is now white in front/top, yellow in some parts and orange in the back. She did no toning, and now I look like Draco Malfoy's grandma. You said you weren't a pro, but maybe you should be. I would happily give u 150 bucks to do my hair, girl. I'm going to look at all yr vids, and follow along.THANK YOU!!!!!!!!
girl, if you go to a stylist and you don't like what they did, make them fix it before paying. that's their job. they should not let a customer leave unhappy.

As soon as I saw your video I went to Sally's bc I was due for toning. I def liked how this left my hair felling better than Wella does and I also got the silver results... do u plan on trying the pink or purple tinged ones? If so will you make a video pretty please lol

i recently used the same brand of toner in lavender moon. it did not turn my hair purple but it did turn it a very light silver blonde. i let mine process for 20 minutes

Just used Snow Cap and Lavender Moon, and the swatches are very misleading. The Snow Cap is pretty similar to Wella T18, and I think it's a gentler alternative. It didn't turn white like the swatch at all, but still a pretty platinum/ash blonde. Lavender Moon is just a little more silvery. So overall, I'd just say that these aren't as intense/pigmented as the swatches or even the names suggest.
most swatches are misleading. they are pure white hair dyed whatever color they are advertising, so its never exactly the same.
You have to have level ten hair before it can turn white. 💜

I saw a white ion product and I was wondering how it would look, since I have streaks I’m hoping it actually comes out white, that’ll be cool. I think the silvery look is refreshing on you.

Your hair looks beautiful, color-wise, and very healthy and shiny! I would definitely try that product because of your results, and I'm a licensed cosmetologist. I wonder why you chose the Platinum Lace rather than the Bright White? Of course, the swatches you see are what your hair would look like if you were already basically almost platinum, maybe just slightly yellowed...you appeared to be a Level 9 blonde when you used this. (It's hard to see what the TRUE color of your hair before and after is, though, in artificial lighting and on video.) Every time you put color/toner over hair that already has color, it will look different. Nice job!

If you want to get the platinum lace to come out looking like the Swatch you first need to bleach your hair then put the Platinum lace toner on, that's why hairstylist have told me and that's what I've done and I get the perfect Platinum lace color

I used the lavender color on my kinda yellow hair and you couldn't tell I had yellow at the start it was a nice light purple basically what the swatch was (I have bleached light hair from a medium brown)

Omfg I said the same thing!!!! I work for Sally's and I wanted to try it too and I had tried snow cap, and I have already white bleached hair. Sad part is, when I applied the colored, it actually tone DOWN my white bleach color instead of going higher. I do have the same tone of hair color as you right now this is so upsetting lmao
I just love your make up and hair, with your pale skin tone. I'd like to go pale and not worry about tanners and whatnot, but my hair is about a level 5 brown and Idk if it'd look good at all or not. I think it goes great with your super light hair.

I will say though if you already bleached your hair very light, this stuff will turn your hair silver. Now if that's what you're going for than great, but if it looks like its getting too dark, don't freak. Rinsh your hair with shampoo in hot water to dilute the color and use a keratin mask to treat any drieness. I noticed when I hopped out the shower and it was still wet I was scared that I was going to end up with grey hair, but once I towel dried it I noticed a huge and almost immediate difference

You should try the ion violet intensifier permanent hair additive. It does a really good job of toning out yellow and gold tones in my hair and it doesn't tinge my hair violet. I think it's a fairly new product at Sally's so no one really knows about it! Thanks for all your informative videos!! 😊

how long does this toner last for? also, how does it look after a couple of washes, even when using a purple shampoo?
4-6 washes and it starts to fade. Use a white conditioner with a vegetable dye and you can keep it vibrant! You’ll have to know your color wheel to know what color to use and mix though! Great pick me up if you don’t have time to tone, just color conditioner and you’re ready to go!😉👍🏻

My hair is medium-dark blonde (lv 7-8), balayage to bleach blonde (lv10). I don’t want to change my darker hair, so should I only tone the bleached parts with snow cap?
Taylor Nicole yes! Only get the toner on your bleached parts :)
since these are a toner they are not going to look like the swatch in the store. on your hair. they ate meant to cancel out unwanted tones
I have just used this as well and it has given me a dull casting on my hair. Does this toner fade eventually?

yes. youre only supposed to use 30 or 40 volume when you're lightening your hair.
Are you still doing your own roots with a smudge? I recall in another video you said you were going to use foil and do it yourself.
I had a stylist do a couple foils for me on the top! but I haven't done anything since, just growing it! :)

I thought it was Sally's with an 's too... its not.. never has been... something the woman inside sally beauty supply freaked out about when I told her , saying the sign must have lost the s (It did not)... confused ? Google or youtube search the Mandela Effect.
How long did it take for the color to wash out? I just used this toner and my hair is now grey :( My roots are the color I wanted but the rest of my hair is grey.
jharvey2279 depends how often you wash you hair! But I’d say maybe like 10-20 washes depending on how gentle or harsh your shampoo is. Try an anti-residue or clarifying shampoo...that can help speed up the process!!

This toner is made to be used with 20 volume and to get the best result you need to make sure your hair is lighter enough like an inside of the banana. Im a hairstylist and the toner works very good

This toner is def made to be used with 20 vol, not sure if you misread the instructions but they do say to use a 20 vol. I work for Sally's, so I sell this stuff daily, and I do hair on as well. Almost all toner is made to be use with 20 vol developer. Maybe try with the 20 vol for better results next time.

The directions in the box say 10 and website says 20. I'm sitting here ready to dye and am unsure of which to use.

Would you say this Ion toner is less damaging than the Wella toners? And would you say the Ion toner lasts as long as Wella toners?
Kelley McDaniel if you use 10 volume developer, then yes it’s less damaging than wella (because Wella recommends 20 volume). But keep in mind that you can use 10 volume with wella too - it will just be less damaging and maybe a little more pigmented in the hair. In terms of longevity...wella probably lasts a little longer, but only when you use the 20 vol. this is because 20 vol is stronger and get get deeper into the hair vs. 10 volume can’t get as deep
