This worked perfect. Man, how do you always seem to know exactly the kind of crap I'm dealing with? Super fantastic.
I’m glad I could be of help my friend! I’m here to always help 🙏🏽😊
Watching from Yosemite Kentucky. Thanks for sharing. I'm currently experiencing this issue.
I’m glad I could be of help! Thank you for your feedback my friend! 🙏🏽😊
I did this about 15 years ago as my garage door faces due East facing the morning sun. My sensors have a round ledge on the lenses. I used a 3" length of 3/4" PVC pipe that slips on the lens ledge perfect. Painted them flat black to prevent reflections inside the white PVC pipe and to make the outside look better...
Great DIY.
i do have one of those opening. love your videos keep them coming. thy help me out a lot.
I did a similar thing with my garage sensors a couple of years ago. With mine (my house faces North), the problem only occurred in the summer (the sun in the North), late in the day (sun in the West). Then the sun would shine directly in the sensor. The door would open but would not close. It was really irritating.
Thanks!
I have that problem also, very aggravating...I'm going to get one of those protectors from amazon .. thanks, for the video and great info.
Excellent video Brother
Thank you so much my friend! 🙏🏽😊
Nice! Thank you.
Hi Ron! Were you able to email me?
@@FixThisHouse Not yet. Will do it soon, thanks.
Will this keep my door from opening randomly? Great tutorial. 👏🏽👏🏽💯
You really make very helpful video tips, thanks! I have even a more effective and simple method to correct this situation. Simply switch the sensors from side to side. One sensor is the transmit beam sensor (green LED light) and the other is the receiver beam sensor (red LED light). When the receiver beam sensor is “blinded” by the sunshine, it cannot “see”the transmit beam and therefore the unit does not work. This is similar to when drive into the sun light and can’t see the road ahead of you unless you use your sun visor to shield the light. When you have the transmit beam sensor on the sun shine side, there is no problem. Also, Genie owns Overhead Garage Door so Genie products will work on Overhead Garage Door operators. Hope this helps. Bill
Hey, I need help. My light don’t work. The garage opener opens and closes, but my light doesn’t work and I already changed lightbulbs, but it still don’t work.
I have the Amazon protector and once a year I have to clean out the spider webs inside it. Just on FYI.
I’ve used cardboard to shield my sensors for years. It does look as nice as yours but totally effective.
Hello friend I have a genie garage opener
