- In this video I show how I altered my garage door sensor. I know I know I am going to hell 😉. Sometimes we have to improvise to live our daily lives effective. if not, well it is insanity imo. Bring on the critics and leave me a comment in the comment section. Hope you enjoy the video.

Great tip!
Appreciate it 👊
A long time ago I taped up my sensors to each other and they are hanging above the motor unit. The other day my wall opening unit got screwed up after a power outage and would not work. Bought a Genie Universal wall unit and programmed it. But when I close the door it goes down and then comes right back up and open. Usually this is because of a sensor problem. But that cannot be the case for me since I have the sensors taped up together. And both the amber light and green light on the sensors are ON.....so I am frustrated here not knowing what this problem is or how to fix it.
Mine did that before. But it was resolved with a sensitivity adjustment on the drive unit. Had a small dial for flat head screwdriver. Left or right adjustable. One increases sensitivity and other lessons it.

Thank you 365 👍
Thanks. Didn’t work for me. I moved them all the way up. Solid green light and solid amber light. Door won’t close more than a foot before it goes up again. Day or night. My search continues…
If not working, it shouldn't even move a foot. Is it possible they are too high? The door panels angle as they come down. Maybe the door is breaking the sensor beam as it moves? I'm sure you will figure it out.
In actuality, it doesn't matter qhat anyone else thinks... It's your business and nobody else's (unless you're married), what anyone else thinks or says is irrelevant!😅
Very true LTD. Not married. In a relationship with work though 😁
Moving them up is not bypassing 😅
It bypasses the lower portion of door area from being tripped.
