I mostly agree with you, the only thing I'd say I do disagree on is the executions because I felt like they stepped up this game.
I say Chapter 2 has the most brutal execution ever in Danganronpa (even Chapter 1 of the original game).
Yes. The executions are top-notch in this game, especially Ch1 and Ch2, being my favs next to Despair Arc Execution and DR1 Ch1.
Chapters 1-3 executions yes
Chapters 4-6 no
The body discoveries were great though
I feel like Danganronpa about Rantaro's first killing game with him as a main character would be a great idea for a sequel
mrhondo12345 Not moreso a sequel but prequel. I definitely would love a game based on Rantaro, since there is some info about him that we still don’t know about
My guy that's a spoiler, for anyone who hasn't played/watched it
YES! Someone else who enjoyed the ending!
V3 pushes the bound of what the game can do and boy do I love it. The ending I honestly wait and see where they go with they got for the future.
Danganronpa v3 is alright. I enjoyed the whole lying aspect of the game. The ending was good, I didn't expect it. However when playing the game some of the characters (Kaito) annoyed me to such extent with their stupidity xD
I still think Danganronpa 2 was better but this version was pretty good for a fan... it does take a bit for the game to roll, I personally started to enjoy it after the 2nd trial..
I was pleased with V3's ending. That deserves its own spoilerful discussion video.
This game also has enormous endgame content, including a lot of fan-servicey moments like each students from all games (sans UDG) meeting and interacting with each other. That's neat.
As someone who found UDG tame and limp and who found The End of Hope's Peak gravely disappointing, I was happy with V3, especially the ending, to the point I did a whole video on that alone. That said, the game's pace and character writing irked me more this time, to the point I think it's the weakest of the mainline trilogy.
SuperLowlander >udg
>tame pick one.
Dude nice review!
bruh you are the only person ive ever seen to say that dr1's executions were the best
Cool. I actually started the game recently and was on the first free exploration time. Looking forward to continuing the game after I'm done with recent hassles.
Nice review as always, Grex. I've got a question for you though. Have you ever considered reviewing the Ace Attorney games? While I can imagine that all the reviews would eventually start sounding similar, you reference it every now and then and I think it would be great for fans of Danganronpa who haven't played them yet. If you do decide to do it, I'm sure you could cover the original trilogy in a quick one video review and then have each era of AA games their own.
It's a possibility, but to properly write the video I'd have to take the time to replay the games -- especially the older ones -- and that's not a commitment I'm willing to make right now.
I understand you want to keep this review as spoiler-free as possible but your in-depth opinions on the ending and each twists would have been nice.
Great video nonetheless.
I do agree to a point. Danganronpa is a franchise very difficult to talk about in depth without spoilers, so in hindsight I might've shot myself in the foot with that one. Maybe next game I'll just do a spoiler video.
As someone who's played DR1 and haven't played the rest because of the community being the most obnoxious I've seen in recent times, because I wasn't really wowed by the original like everyone else it, and because I don't really feel like spending money on the series, would you recommend picking it up? Do you think the experience that the series provides is worth it? This review makes V3 sound interesting and worth a shot, but not at those prices.
Danganronpa 2 is only $20 on Steam. I consider it a marked improvement on 1 and about the same level as V3. So I'd say give 2 a shot, and if you still don't care for the series, don't bother continuing.
i agree with the designs. yeah, SDR2 was too over-the-top, but then V3 just downplays it all. the first game had more balance with their characters.
also, i really hate kaito and leon's goatees. they kinda look out of place tbh
then again, without them, they'd probably look more forgettable.
Where should I start this series?
The first one, Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc.
Grex What a name. I'll definitely try it. Here's my passing recommendation , Epic Battle Fantasy 3.
Honestly Danganronpa is basically MGS. I mean, the first game has good atmosphere, the 2nd game has very similar themes to MGS 2, the third is considered the best.
and then theres the guy thats 3 times more popular then the game hes in
Which is
@@mohammedsuliman8072 kokichi
@@tryggvi1239 well I mean he deserves to
@@tryggvi1239 also fun fact he is nearly popular in goggle searches as joker from persona 5 and joker got boosted by him existing on smash bros
Also kind of the same with junko and nagito
I think Kokichi was the Ultimate lier, not the Ultimate Villian
I'm here!
When are you gonna do anime season review ?
As in, the next seasonal roundup? When the season's over.
Danganronpa V3 is easily my least favorite one. All due simply to it's ending. I felt that it really invalidated the rest games, and as such left a sour taste in my mouth.
V3 was an F imo. EASILY worse than UDG and possibly one of the worst games I've ever played in my entire life!
Also the ending was garbage
