Gerard Joaquino - I'm with you on this mate. I cannot understand why he's not on Top Gear. I'd get Howard in immediately, keep Chris Harrison and get rid of the other 2 dead wood presenters. Why do we even have a Yank doing OUR car show?

...quickly replaced all badges with original KDM stinger script (a la maserati) and elegant round E (a la bugatti and bmw badges).. perfect...

The only two things I don’t like are the fake vents and the foot-long reflectors. Other than that, this car really shows how much progress Kia made over the years and that they aren’t really a joke anymore.

Hi Howard! I couldn't find any videos from you on Mini Coopers. Does this mean they're shite? I would love one but keep getting told by mechanics to stay away - too expensive to maintain (100.00 oil changes??), too unreliable . . are there any models/years that are OK? I'm still looking to replace my 20 year old Toyota RAV (insert bored out of my mind emoji here) and so far the most fun test drive I've taken was in a VW GTI (and a FIAT 500 but I'm definitely not going there - engines that go at 60,000 miles? Yikes!). Thank you in advance for any advice you have! :-) Wait a minute, are you saying it's OK to love Kias? :-) I haven't even considered Kias and Hyundais because . . . they're Kias and Hyundais.

Such an awesome review! Do you reckon the 2.0T keeps the same character and driving enjoyment as the 3.3T? Considering you get the same equipment and much better fuel economy for THOUSANDS less, I thinks it's a good "rational" compromise. It's not like it was a 180bhp tiny engine, it still has 260bhp and a 0-60 time of a little under 6 seconds
Vlad Saghin it's a good car, but not as fun in acceleration. The handling is almost better due to the weight difference. But if you can save the money for a base gt it's absolutely worth it.
Vlad Saghin still better than a camry or Accord or anything I'm it's price range, so I'd go for it if you can't get the gt
I have driven the 2 litre petrol and it is a much more usable car than the 3.3 it is lighter and the performance is more useable.
John French it's alright however if you want something that outs a smile on your face. Buy the 3.3t.
I drive the 2.0T (twin scroll turbo) with AWD and it is a wonderful car with great handling. Certainly not the quickness of the 3.3, but respectable performance and just plain fun. I saved almost $15K usd over the loaded GT, and I have no regrets!
I'm no badge snob, in fact I drive a Kia, but I wish they'd not put their badge on it and opted for something like, I dunno, a Scorpion, to differentiate it from their line-up like Ford did with the Mustang
Well, the Korean version has their new "E" badge on their Stingers with no KIA reference whatsoever. I think with time, KIA with slowly introduce and transition to a new luxury line with its own badge, like Hyundai with Genesis.
Manchuz79 the reason they won't do that is due to genesis being where this comes from. These guys will be an in-between. A cheaper genesis with different styling. The g70 is going to be 8-10k more for the same trim levels and engines.
I dont mind the Kia badging on the outside but the one on the steering wheel looks shite. The font is awful. I think I have to test drive this (hopefully for a weekend). It this or a Golf R Wagon. And I'm leaning way over to this. But shit MPG, not any faster and unlike many other countries, no AWD. But I still want one.
Very entertaining review but a few errors. Road tax already mentioned - it's only £150. Petrol consumption is nearer to 30 than 22 and it's about a foot shorter than a BMW 7 series, in fact it's shorter than a 5 series.

their leasing ain't cheap at all in Canada. it's like the same lease an Audi A4 or any luxury entry sedans and their interest rates are so high.

One mistake in your review. The list price of the 3.3 is under £40,000 even with metallic paint (the first year road tax takes it over £40,000) so you don't pay the extra for road tax in subsequent years.
I know this because I bought one and it cost £150 to tax for another year.

Theyre still way too expensive for what they are. Go watch motortrends video when they take it on track and is slower than focus st :^/ for nearly 400hp thats quite dissappinting. Its a cool car overall but wait and see how it is in a few years before judging its build quality and materials.
this is not the same as a focus ST
a focus ST is a much lighter car and a fairly small hatchback made for track days.
the stinger is a GT cruiser,that is more luxurious and much better equipped than the focus ST.
also the GT is competing with the 5 series bmws and the audi s5's,which are about 10-15 grand more expensive.
Better than a BMW easy. Better than an Alfa Romeo different story.
This is a German mistake actually.
We need a car not a plastic rubber. We know the price is fabulous, but it is really rubbish cheep plastic assembly. BMW and Mercedes has a quality plastic and materials plus engineering performance. Kia life is short after 5 years you will get lots of problems. Because, it is not a just design of body or Shane 🚗. Quality first, safety and security , comfortable and price of curse . Thanks
