I dont care how it handles on British bumpy roads .. i’ve driven it here in dubai and its great , it beats a charger rt and a chrysler 300c 5.7 in a drag race , it gives an srt with 470 hp a run for its money ..
It handles really well and it tends to oversteer exiting corners and actually it reminds me of an e46 m3 in terms of handling ..
Yes it has cheaper materials inside but to get an equivalent from a german bran you will probably pay 20k more .. so its fine by me ..
And im not like a fan of kia or something and i own a w219 cls55 amg but i do respect the stinger for what it is 👍🏻
Devin Bender numbers and real world are completely different bro .. in real world the RT simply keep spinning its wheels while the stinger hooks up immediately .. i do think the RT sounds way better but its not a faster car ..
The second point is if i want to get a similar performance from BMW for example , the 335i sport pack cost north of 50K which is more than 10K more than the stinger .. which in my opinion the 335i deserve every extra peny but for normal guys looking for the same performance but for a cheaper sticker price the stinger is the way to go ..

Also I would rather get a Fusion Sport. Way way way cheaper with all the same options and then some. Yea it’s a little slower. But to save $10k it’s worth it.
Also I would definitely take a Tesla Model 3 over a stinger any day. Faster cheaper and cheaper to own.

German cars cost 8% more if you take NO OPTIONS vs this fully loaded. why is it that Badge whorers always use this ridiculous logic? I could option a 440i to the price of a M3... so should you say who the hell would buy a 440i when an M3 is the same price.
Honfy Lam Because a loaded BMW has 1000 more options than a loaded Kia does. List me off a list of options that the Kia has that the BMW doesn’t.
I test drove the Kia Stinger Limited. Loved it. First, it's a really nice place to be in. It handles great. Is a little rocket when you step on it. And the Harman Kardon speakers are really good. I sound tested the car's stereo system a little. And wow! It's almost alone worth buying thar car.

It's better than a K-mart knockoff; yes it lacks the absolute finesse of our Germans but then makes up for it with reliability we expect, and a less viscious depreciation. Who knows, Stinger MKII might nail it on style? Btw the Australian Police have selected them to replace the GM and Ford offerings that left Aust. last year. The Stinger is a runaway success here due to the lack of competition near price.
If only car manufacturers could make money from all of us being glad that they build cars like this, yet having no intention to buy one

Great review - not a car I would ever have considered looking at until this video. Definitely food for thought.
In my review of this car, my main conclusion was that in an Audi A/S5 you can tell that they have been making luxury and sporty vehicles for 20-30 years, it shows in the details and the refinement. With the Kia, you can tell that they have been making utilitarian cars for 20-30 years because it shows in the refinement and the details. But like Henry, I'm glad they built this, it's a good first effort, I just hope they get to build a second gen one.
But the RWD and LSD setup beats a non M BMW for me which in turn spanks a Audi, again for me/my needs. It´s all about what YOU value most. For me it´s a car that I can finally consider over a BMW 5 Series or 3 Combi
Except an S5 Sportback is $60000 US and the Stinger GT1 is $40000...
As tested the Stinger GT1 I tested was just shy of $49,000.
@@RumblestripDotNet well idk what ripoff prices were paid here but the GT1 RWD with the V6 starts at $38350 in the US. The loaded GT2 AWD is $52000, and they have been offering $6-8K factory incentives since launch.
That will come with time. It can't be expected that Kia produces the same level of refinement for a third of the cost. They have to cut costs somewhere, and it will show in some of the craftsmanship.

Really great assessment - you narrate so fluidly as you drive. Personally, I think Kia should just tone down the boy-racer add-ons on the exterior and give the interior a little better perception of class. I am a Kia fan, and rather like the Stinger. But I just feel Kia has tried to make it like an M3 or M5 type of car, while it simply is not. Even a C43 AMG is probably more sporty than this car.
In the US, this is a "big 3-series" competitor. In Europe, it seems more like a 5, or a 7, or an XJ-sized thing! I don't think the Kia Stinger is really made with Europe in mind. Its made for Americans who like European cars, but want to spend less money on them.
I have one of these. It's far and away the best car I have ever had, including all the German 'supposed top cars'. Fortunately, I've never been a 'badge snob', but those who are, are missing out on a totally fantastic motor !

It's okay to find cheap plastics in a mercedes, bmw or audi for about $100,000; but an odd thing in a great GT car from KIA for about $45,000!🤦♂️

I love mine. And I also have an M240i xDrive which as some say is one of the best BMWs now. Drive the Stinger GT if you’re interested. You’ll be surprised, I bet.

SeniorLeb been getting a whole lot of car for the money since 2000 and I have yet to be disappointed. I'm sure I won't be disappointed with my Stinger either. You're right u DO get what u pay for. But I'll have another 20k to spend on other things.

Ahmad Lebanon I can ask u the same question, y pay 20-30k more for an equally equipped German? I still have an 07 Hyundai Sonata V6 with 240k miles and never had any issues. With the exception of brakes / tires and regular oil changes I haven't spent a dime on it. If you've had nothing but good experience with a company wouldn't u keep buying their product?

I think this car is awesome, but not new.... i would wait 2 years there or so, and buy it a lot cheaper, and still enjoy 5 years of warranty on it, i feel this will be a no-brainier car in the 2nd hand market.

Fake vents?! Come on. BMW s have fake vents and in addition nearly all the prestige brands have fake exhausts. Even the Range Rovers are not beyond the fake slat or vent.

Why would you want to drive aggressively if you have a mental age over 14? The original reason that motoring journalists drove flat out was to test cars at their limit which used to be dangerous; cars used used to sometimes suffer from sudden oversteer or have a propensity to spin when pushed whereas today cars have ESPs to counter that. There has been a misconception that driving on the limit like Jeremy Clarkson is somehow acceptable and "fun" when it is in fact grossly antisocial and obnoxious. Real pleasure in driving is achieved by getting to your destination smoothly and without upsetting other road users (an ancient concept known as "consideration"). The best suspension for Britain's lumpy roads is long travel, softly sprung but well damped.

This car has top safety ratings as do almost all modern Kias. One of the safest and most reliable brands out there in 2018. Look up the stats yourself.

It's because sporty 'premium' German metal is a constant drain on your pocket to keep running, and owners get out as soon as the warranty is over.
If you're all about the badge, fine, but the KIA offers you so much more for your money if you're willing to think outside the box.

bingers laroo you’re comparing a brand new car with a used car. Also, and the reason you can get those used cars for that price (not too sure about that S5 pricing) is because Mercedes and BMW values are known to drop significantly once it leaves the dealer lot.
@@snakerb If you get on coast 2 coast cars you can spec a new S4/5, 3/440, c43 etc with discount for not much more than 40k, in the case of the BM's alot less. How much do you think the 40k Kia will be worth when you launch control it out the forecourt?

You offset depreciation by longevity. You'll be able to run the KIA long enough to get every penny you spent out of it, and then some.
A pile of Bavarian Motor Wank on the other hand is good for the length of its warranty and not a single mile longer. Unless you've got deep pockets and don't mind constant, expensive maintenance.

@@devinbender8428 Kia were joint first with Volvo in reliability rankings in Europe. Audi and BMW were joint last. Kia also holds more value as a percentage of total price compared to a BMW, Audi or Mercedes across the entire range.
The expected value of a Stinger GTS after three years is 41%. The equivalent S5 is 36%. BMW and Mercedes are also < 40%.

While it obviously isn't _perfect,_ the fact that it exists is something genuinely exciting in such an increasingly bland market of companies pulling back *hard* on unique/fun vehicles that exercise their engineering muscles for the sake of safe products that are projected to sell well (SUVs/crossovers can eat shit) or not making cars available in markets where they're not expected to sell _enough_ (Ford can eat two helpings of shit).

I’m Korean, but I can’t stand Korean brand cars.
They’re just cheap feeling and become rattle boxes within a few months of ownership.
These are such lousy cars! Don't be fooled by a flashy exterior or the hype! Will cost you a fortune in repairs & crappy insides.... If you want foreign Asian cars go with Toyota, Subaru, or of course Honda!! Little more cash, but way worth it! Way!!

Never heard of a Kia catching fire in my area, sounds like made up bullshit insurance scam to me.
Z it was on the national news last night. Hundreds of cases all over the country. Some including the Santa Fe which has already included a recall for fires but clearly they didn’t find the right issue.
