Hmmmmm.....It would be good if in the near future KIA take the Stinger name n make it into it's high performance sub brand .....imagine with a range of cars to compliment the Stinger GT.
It's alright if you talk about or compare this car with audi or bmw. But for the sake of god don't talk about jaguar. Jaguar is absolutely trash, I would take kia 100 times over jag
I have a question: in the states, the 3.3 stinger is noted for having a rear end that is somewhat unsettled when it encounters mid corner bumps/crests (there appear to be owners who fit an eibach anti roll bar in the rear to compensate for this). Did you ever feel anything similar in any stinger you drove?
I can't believe how cheap BMWs are in the UK and how expensive Kias are there. In Australia, the 3.3L Kia Stinger is AUD$68,000 and the BMW 440i is AUD$128,000. A no brainer for the Stinger in Australia.
Maybe the product is good enough to compete. Now if Kia developed dealers that are capable of selling a $50k car, and, more importantly, mechanics who can maintain it, then and only then it has a future
Julian Rozentur I don’t see the problem there. It’s got a Hyundai motor and transmission, and there’s nothing exotic about the suspension, just good engineering. So are you just ignorant about the car?
I just don't understand how KIA can create this car and not offer a 360 degree camera or wireless charging on the top of the line US model and also try to charge nearly 30% more for the US model compared to the Canadian model. Hard to be considered a BMW competitor when you dont even offer tech features available on a Honda Accord.
The exact reason I won't buy one until Kia removes their head from their ass. Who ever made that business decision should be fired ASAP. So much discontent on the US forums after getting the full reveal, people who were going to buy are no longer buying since Kia decided to short change the US market.
Yes, Kia "stole" Biermann from BMW... but decades before that, BMW "stole" Ford engineers... US-market basic 2.0T models gets 4 exhausts. The UK only gets 2 exhausts on RHS. Poor man's Panamera - great car!
MelCanuck Yet, Panamera still underperforms compared to the Stinger based on head to head comparison. So I wouldn’t call it a poor man’s Panamera, unless you’re into brand snobbery.
tiny b Yes, because Kia in an unknown in performance market. I have a BMW that lost 70% of its value in 4 years and it only has 18k miles on it. BMWs no longer have high residuals. BMWs out of their 3 year warranty are a headache to maintain. If it breaks, you can kiss a big chunk of your monthly income goodbye.
A quote from the Telegraph review “Ultimately we’ll have to wait and see what residual prices do, but the forecasts from independent experts at CAP suggest Kia’s flagship will hold on to its value as well as or perhaps even better than its German rivals.” Seems hopeful....
Matt Brown in Australia Hyundai Santa Fe, Kia Sorento and Veloster hold the value pretty well. I think its not just only brand name will depreciate value it also depends on design and how good the car is !!!!
One Elephant in the room, is the 225g/km CO2 number! Given that sales of things like 340i's (179g/km) are mainly to business users, that's gonna hurt sales isn't it?? IMO car enthusiasts with 40k to spend will buy a 1yo M4 rather than a new Kia
@@tbvjqor123 they aint far off, but they aint coming with all kit the Stinger has. Also 2 door (Assuming he means the coupe), shit boot shit rear space. Not the same car basically.
At that price with incredible performance, buy 2 and drive it wrecklessly. Even if you wreck it, you have a back up. Remember, 0-60 in less than 5 sec. Porsche panamera costing twice as much (us $90,000) does it in more than 5 sec.
kubanskiloewe You’re full of bullshit. The indoor handles are aluminum, ya dumb fuck. Proves you haven’t been in the car or you have no idea what metal feels like.
This is a German mistake actually. We need a car not a plastic rubber. We know the price is fabulous, but it is really rubbish cheep plastic assembly. BMW and Mercedes has a quality plastic and materials plus engineering performance. Kia life is short after 5 years you will get lots of problems. Because, it is not a just design of body or Shane 🚗. Quality first, safety and security , comfortable and price of curse . Thanks In my 4 year experience, Kia rubbish customer service and support in UK.
I just drove the Stinger V6. Compared to a BMW 40i the stinger drives like a brick! The automatic gearbox is a nightmare. Anyway, the Stinger is a good car for the money. But a BMW beater? Ridiculous!
Great very fair review on what is a great car.
I miss you Dan. One of the best reviewers. Wish you had more frequent videos. I'm selfish
This is an excellent analysis of this new and surprisingly good Kia model. All the fun and comfort plus 7 yrs warranty will support good residuals.
Hmmmmm.....It would be good if in the near future KIA take the Stinger name n make it into it's high performance sub brand .....imagine with a range of cars to compliment the Stinger GT.
Jimtrefvtretre ي
Nice color stinger yeah~!
Us$40,000 Stinger outperformed us$90,000 porsche panamera! How does kia sell it at that price and why is porsche selling it at that price?
Great car
Great review. Subscribed!

Reus Mazumder lol so true. No Jag V6 is as close as this KIA in terms of performance.
i agree , the jaguar xe look like a 02 nissan maxima

decent review! whats playing on my mind though is where is that parking spot? is it good for a motor home and are there any trails close by?
Living in sunny snow free AZ, would you recommend RWD or AWD Stinger GT?
If u still haven't decided yet I have the rwd and love it and live in az

Will Bond or Templar drive it?
Yew Moon Lee You have a fantasy life? They’re fictional characters.
I want one.
mark allen Got cheese?

Flight23 ummm they do offer those lol research it bro.
Not on the US model... Also no LSD on the AWD, no alcantera headliner, etc.
gt offers above view cam when parking

Flight23 yup that's why I won't get one yet. I have a 2016 optima sxl. I expect to get everything my car has and more if it's 20k more...

I'm sure it will be a great car, used in a few years, for less than half the sticker price. They're already adding incentives to sell these in The US.

Will be interesting to see how well they hold value and how many Kia sell.
The car does seem a bit heavy at 1,855kg (6-cyl). XE weighs 200kg less.
It does seem a bit heavy. Hopefully they'll be able to get that down with time.
Xe is a smaller car tho no? Still 200kg is 200kg thats quite a bit of mass

Matt Brown Not hopeful, probably true. My 4 year old BMW with 18k miles has shit residual, lost 70% of its value.
Only reason why I have a stupid comment is because I had a bad experiences with Mercedes and BMWs super duper bad
While I completely agree with you, a manual transmission option would make me purchase it as oppose to just watching it in review videos

I hear you. That and the weight, the two related I'd wager! Given their pace of development though.......
Max Torque sorry mate. 1yr m4 isnt 40k.
@@tbvjqor123 they aint far off, but they aint coming with all kit the Stinger has. Also 2 door (Assuming he means the coupe), shit boot shit rear space. Not the same car basically.
it destroys a 340 , by half a second 100km
Ben Chesterman what? By half a second to kph from zero? Is that what youre trying to say? Because im pre sure theyre like identical on that
Ben Chesterman Theorethically maybe....
in Australia we got 4.7 to 100km in the stinger twin turbo
And this is without aftermarket mods. Half the price of a 640i and yet faster.

enough of this peter shryer stuff.... I'm sure a lot of people worked on the design not just him.
I agree, but can you imagine a car reviewer remembering a south korean designers name? HoLee Shiit
tasmania909 Way to go, ya racist ignorant inbred fuck.
This guy's talking about Audi German cars. Like they run so great who the f*** cares
Devin Cruz they do run great
The back looks like a dodge charger..
Uncle Iroh no
Uncle Iroh Your mama’s back looks like the back of a rhino.
throwing brembos on it doesn't make it a performance car. Kia has a lot to learn about the race culture.
StrictlyAccessed IX then tell that to randy pobst who tested the stinger to the extremes....
This is a German mistake actually.

I guess, you don't know much how a car should drive.
You probably never drove a BMW...
Never mind. Just buy a Kia and think it's a BMW! I don't care.
The whole KIA beats BMW discussion reminds me on an old joke. You know what the car brand PONTIAC means? Poor Old Nerd Thinks It's A Cadillac! ;-))
bmw 340 slower to 100 km
