Love the Stinger GT. If you are in Manuel mode and want the transmission to go back to Auto mode, click the shifter towards "D" once. I have a GT2 in the states and this works for me, however, my shifter is a shift by wire system.
Great review and great car, looks great in that colour, shame it hasn't done so well in the UK. Korean cars are really brilliant 👌

I'm about to change cars but, do you thing the suspension is good enough to handle the potholes on the street? I’m between an optima SXL and the stinger put I’m concerned about that topic
I just tried the car out yesterday. Sadly, there isn't enough roofspace for me in this car, forcing me to recline the seat to a sub optimal position.
Sad.

Yes, they might not be BMW, Audi or Mercedes, but think how far Kia as a brand has come. The idea of a car like this a few years ago would have been a joke, but today I don't think it is.

Trying the 2.0l next week - can't wait to feel what that's like, less powerful though it might be!
It will automatically shift up when it reaches redline no matter what, and it'll automatically downshift when you slow to a stop, otherwise, I believe once you've used the paddles to manually shift up or down, it will stay in that gear indefinitely unless you do one or the other of either of the aforementioned things
Usually an auto in manual mode won't shift up when you reach the redline (if the gearbox is any good) but it will change down if you're coming to a stop and the car would otherwise stall.

With a booster seat.
Weird thing about this car you hear a working suspension more than feel it. Probably that's what mostly makes difference in refinement when comparing to other more luxury brands. at higher speeds it could be more quite. Otherwise, lovely seats, great engine,fast gearbox, epic looks, unbeatable value.
That's the thing. If people get over the whole "it's a Kia thing" and actually look at what you're being offered, it is remarkable value for money full stop. And I fully expect there to be one with a little bit more power at some point in the future! SW

The stinger is the 2nd rear wheel drive car.
K9 is the first.
First what you should do is READ a MANUAL! You can get into manual mode. Just go to Sport+ mode, then turn off traction control by manual, and you are done! So information is a key ;) Beside that good review. One more thing - quiet exhaust is a bless in my opinion. In car like this you don't need to impress some kids in Golf without resonators ;)

Thanks for the feedback! :) Although, do you understand the point I was trying to make? That many automatics have a very simple, clear manual mode (usually you push the gear selector to the side) and the Stinger doesn't have that? Regardless, thanks for commenting. The quiet exhaust thing is down to personal taste (I'd like a bit more noise) but, yes, you won't be mistaken for a boy racer 😂 SW
Other KIA car models have but only stinger doesn't. I guess KIA intentionally removed the manual mode because Stinger is GT car? Idk either
You might want to move the seat up jr. You look like you got stuffed in that car by some bullies.

I really like it but needs to be sub £30k to appeal. Also rear looks like Mondeo
30000 pounds for a twin turbo , get real base golf gti is 28000 with only 230hp
What about the 2.0l? That's around £30k?
Not quite true about the performance figures ever test i have see so far has not been able too get those numbers claimed by Kia and that sound in the cabin comes from the stereo system not the exhaust.
A little more exhaust would be delightful!
NewMotoring yes but I suppose at the end of the day it is not a V8 so it will probably never give you that truly great sound track but I would still rather that it didn't give you a false sound through the stereo because it is only fooling one person.

Not the 1st rwd KIA ever made - douche voice.... They made a rwd sorento and k900..... js
