I was driving Audi's, I am owning now new BMW 5, however after test drive in Stinger I went completly crazy - I just want this car. It drives better in every aspect then my BMW - for a half of a price. If I would be buying new car today I just cannot find justification for spending 2x just on a badge and I would take KIA.
Look. Hyundai kidnapped the former BMW M division developer and gave him an absolute authority to make whatever he likes.This is basically the same breed from BMW M within a tight budget. I love this idea.

I was seriously considering purchasing an Audi S5 or BMW 440i until my brother mentioned this car to me. Let's see what happens! Gorgeous car indeed!
Whilst I'm aware that Kias have come leaps and bounds over the years. But this is one I'd happily own.
just bought one , delivered in 4 weeks. looked at bmw,audi,lexus, had bmw mercedex,got a range rover ,,wife has. Always little shitty things go wrong in european cars like warning lights. depreciate like shit after 3 years because so expensive to fix.
felt as good and looked better than the others i looked at. 7 year warranty peace of mind couldnt beat it.....probably better resale because warranty still 4 years after 3 years if i wanted to sell....

Fantastic car. The used ones are holding up their value quite well too.
Maintenance is also likely much less, which is definitely a consideration over the vehicles life.

Call it silly badge snobbery but that determines residuals. These will be much softer than for German brands.With still bags of warranty left, a two year old GTS with 30K on the clock, will be a compelling buy. The Kia Pro-ceed GT presently at one year old is an astonishing bargain, whereas new at its list price, it is very much not.
Why only RWD in UK?

freeman Geiger I think he meant the S5 not the A5. The S5 is AWD and rear biased just like the Stinger. I'm not sure how it handles better though. I've driven and S5 and it handles super well with no body roll at all on corners but from the Stingers stats and the work that was put into it and who did it makes me wonder how there could be any real difference. BMW makes cars that in most cases handle better than Audi's cars and considering that Bierman did the suspension tuning and engine work you would think this would handle better or at least the same. Still I can't say for sure until I deive the car but I have seen a pre-production model in person at the Kia dealer near my house and what I can say is it looks a thousand times better in person and the interior quality is some of the best I have ever seen in any car.

ThinkCleverAndSmart The interior is actually very well made. I've sat in it. If you want one that looks better though but still keeps the same engine then check out the Gensis G70. In my opinion the Stinger has a far better looking exterior but the G70 is it's twin and the interior is extremely nice.

They should have release this can now! In 2023 where all other high luxury 4 doors are coming back
Can’t get away from the fact that if people ask you what kind of car you drive and you say ‘a kia’, people are going to think it’s a bit rubbish.

I tested 12 cars before I settled on the KIA optima SX back 2012. Main reason was nobody could touch the options, looks & performance for the $. Now, I've tested 5 cars so far on top of the Stinger GT & the $ is even better. The sad thing is that the big American 3 can't even touch the Korean's in price, performance, options & looks! Unless you want a muscle car from them & pay ridiculous $ for them they don't have anything that even comes close to the Stinger. I've walked away laughing at GM & Dodge, because all they have are Camero's, Charger & Challengers that I have any love for at all, but not at that $! Ford at least offers something similar, in the Taurus SHO, but the $ is 6,000 more & that's without AWD & it's ugly as sin. The Mustangs are sick & I'd love to own one if I was rich, but not getting a mustang to drive in Canadian winters!

Nice car but not sure who it is aimed at. 99% of those looking to buy an equivalent Audi BMW Merc Jaguar are not going to be looking at this and the core Kia customers won't spend this kind of money. Also these 'premium' models from not so premium brands are more likely then not suffer worse depreciation then the established premium marques.
People like me, who are SICK of bmw part prices, low quality and other than maybe one classic bmw want something new without the bmw tax
Nice exterior hate the interior.
I like the concept for sure, but the exterior styling has that tacked on feeling to me, much like a 90's Pontiac. The name is also pretty juvenile sounding. I do like that Kia gave it an actual name rather than a number, but it reminds me of "Dodge Dart". Just a childish name.
I couldn't help but notice that you never call a GT the one you're driving is called a Stinger GT is on the back of the car you can clearly see the GT logo so with that said are you kind of jealous or biased in some form of way it's not a proper way to be a journalist I'm just saying

Hakob Samvelian Go look at the new Maserati Gran Turismo. It is ancient compared to this. The only thing it has going for it right now is the name. You don't drive the brand you drive the car. The Maserati GT doesn't even have half of what this car does and they look nothing alike outside of GT badge. Seriously go be a car noob somewhere else.
I didn't even watch the video, just saw the rear end of the car, and came up with this comment. But still you can't compare this car with any Maseratti out there. Not a fan of Maseratti, but still.
Hakob Samvelian Actually you kind of can. Maserati has horrible sales numbers. They ask prices for their cars that they actually aren't worth. They literally have no features which is something you should expect to have when you drop $130k on a car. Granted the price class is not comparable and the Maserati has an engine with about 80 more horepower than the Stinger but in every other Aspect the Stinger beats it. The Maserati name is all that company is trying to sell at this point and the Maserati GT is long overdue for a complete refresh. A $100k car that lacks push button start, keyless entry, heated seats, actual tech other than a nav, and basically anything else you can think of which you would find in a $30k car that Stinger has and the Maserati GT doesn't even offer. Thise things should be standard at those prices and you can get a Porsche with more power and all of those featurs for the same money. Maserati is honestly a complete ripoff. I mean you can get an Audi RS7 for the same price as the Maserati and it has features out the ass on top of a 605hp engine and a 2.9 secong 0-60 time. Not to mention handling that puts anything Maserati has to shame. BMW and Mercedes have vehicles that are like that too so why would anyone buy a Maserati? It makes no sense. If you drop that much on a car you should at least get your moneys worth.
well, it's clearly on personal preferation, whether you are buying a Maseratti or an Audi or whatever comes in the same price range, but still every car you listed have their own unique features, and again it's a matter of taste. I agree about the price tag and the so called ripoff, but still it is a fast, and good looking car to own.

Canal Oval So a 370hp AWD car is based on looks only? Yeah okay brand snob. This is a performance vehicle designed and engineered by the same people that are responsible for the Audi TT and the BMW M5. Kia as a brand may be establishing itself but all of the history of Audi and BMW can be found in this car considering the fact that the people who created the vast majority of their cars with "tradition" are the exact same people that made this car. Either you haven't actually done any research into this car, you're a car noob, or a total fucking idiot. Also Kia isn't making cars entirely based on looks. Their cars are of a higher quality than most luxury brands with comparable vehicles. Seriously go sit in a new Optima SXL, Cadenza, or K900 and tell me that they aren't high quality and have no power/driving dynamics. They literally debuted the Stinger at the Nurburgring. If there was no performance to this car then why the hell would they do something like that? They are designing all of there cars and testing them in Germany at the Nurburgring. They have a headquarters in Germany right next to it. They could probably make a damn hyper car like the fucking Mclaren P1 or LaFerarri and idiots like you would still be like "oh well it's still a Kia therefore it must suck". Well guess you're wrong and eventually that reality will dawn on you when you start seeing Kia competing against the Germans and every other luxury brand and winning.

Canal Oval: Fine. Spend your extra dollars on cars with tradition. But for others that think the German premium brands are expensive, the Stinger provides a viable alternative.
