so its 2021 only just found this trick, gigabyte 5700. voltage and overclock to the levels you said in the video seems stable and decent increase from my card. thanks heaps
Ive tried it on the stock benchmark in far cry primal. I went for 1440p all utra setting without anti alliasing. I had without doing stuff min fps: 59 average: 80 and max 87. Totall frames 4032. 37% of vram. With doing what you told (i had the same settings) i achieved min fps: 63 average: 84 and max 97 and totall frames of 4227! So thats about 10 fps+ on the max and about 5 plus on average and 200 fps+ in totall. Used 35%vram on this try. So I would recommend it! Thank you😄❤💪

Just want to say thx for this vid. Bought my 5700 for $305 and I've been running it successfully at 2000mhz (actual) at 1.2volts for a few months now. Just a note for anyone looking to do this you will have to write the bios via morepowertools each time you update the drivers.

@@PCGamesN I know. But even the most simple overclocking on a Vega 64 is a weirdly difficult thing to do. Any change from stock settings makes it crash and forces it back into stock from Global Wattman. I believe I got a bad deal on the silicon lottery for my ASUS ROG Strix GPU, but when even the Turbo mode in Wattman crashes the card and ends up defaulting to the Balanced mode, I don't think flashing in custom BIOS from a group of open-source devs is a bad idea, of course, it's in my case and since RX 5700 is a completely different architecture, it might be a solid thing to do and get *free* upgrade to something that's more similar to an RX 5700XT.
@@AnujeetRoy09 you simply can't compare different gpu architectures. By "can't" I mean it's utterly idiotic for you to even raise this concern in the first place. Vega is fabbed on 14nm and Navi is fabbed on 10nm, so they have completely different characteristics clock wise on a silicon level. Also Vega has HBM2 while Navi has GDDR6, HBM2 was notorious for possibly being locked from overclocking, tons of people reported outright crashes after changing memory clock. Navi's overclocking headroom is bios locked unlike Vega, it's nowhere close to silicon limits, so you are guaranteed to get more performance from this. All of the above apply before even talking about the architecture.
You should try undervolting it. I have the AMD Vega64 LC. Default GPU clock 1708mhz, ram 945mhz. Undervolted GPU 1838mhz, ram 980mhz. I saw a tutorial here for undervolting Vega64, it's a lot of work, but the result speak itself🙂

i flashed my reference 5700 to a xt and temps are not an issue its the same heatsink thats on the reference xt model and my speeds have increased a ton then i used the morepowertool and the card is amazing!!
It really is! With the unlocked potential of the RX 5700 it's become one of our absolute favourite graphics cards of today. Undervolting too means temperatures can be kept low even with higher clock speeds.
@@PCGamesN ya i put grizzly kryo paste on it and new thermal pads its a beast!! it can get loud but the coming waterblock will solve all that!! haha i knew this would be possible that's why i bought the 5700 and once i seen the pcbs i knew, ya it does not unlock the shaders or cores but still makes a world of difference!!

I followed this with a Rx 5700 red devil (non xt) using the red devil xt bios. Morepowertool write was successful, I loaded wattman and put the slider up to 2030mhz but then grabbed the circular bit in middle and raised it slightly. I clicked apply. The computer crashed after 10 seconds (no games just the desktop). It then failed to boot even to the splash screen. Have I bricked this card? I put the card in an alternative machine and get nothing at all, I can't even boot anything into the bios? I tried to use atiflash directly from a pen drive and flash the cards bios back to stock , it gets right to the end and says "error - adapter not found" So I have destroyed a brand new £370 graphics card it appears?
Well, probably by pulling the bit in the middle the hack-unlocked frequency and voltage settings corrupted and set some super high voltage value causing your card to basically fry itself.
I think you pulled your voltages too high and fried ur card I’m doing the same thing with 2050mhz and 1.185 voltages and I’m fine , max this card should go is 1.250
did you have water cooling or some sort of better cooling? 1.176 wats and only 83 junction under full load sounds insane.... I get those stats with 1000 watts 1950 mhz 5% power limit

Phenom OP I’m pretty sure you should be okay running the Red Devil 5700xt bios, it’s what I’ll be doing when I get my card next week, different bios for different manufacturers sometimes work on others cards, so you should be ok
I just want to get some clarification here, this more power tool, does it flash your bios of the existing 5700 by changing it to 5700xt values but it remains a 5700 or does this change the registry values "soft mod" im confused? is this a bios modification?
lol my xfx rx 5700 reaches 2000 mhz core clock with 1000mV, no need to increase voltage higher, temps are lower. the only thing I am missing after this soft mod is Fan Stop- it is completely gone and fans spin at 20% idle.

That's hilarious. I never looked at the fact its for the 5700 not necessarily the XT. Only when I was done OC and UV that I noticed it was for the normal 5700 card. That said everything in the vid is applicable but the mentioned settings in UV and OC are more of a baseline to start with rather than finish.

@@paddym-k9792 i have pulse one rx 5700 i oc to max deffault so to 1.85ghz and didnt touch memory cause when i oc my memory to even like 50mhz i gets stutters but all good with 1.85ghz no problems just 5c more so max was 74c
@@paddym-k9792 I overclocked my Sapphire Pulse RX 5700 to 2050MHz core clock and 40% power limit with automatic core voltage without issues. Higher than that and it becomes slightly unstable during stress tests. The cooling seems to cope well with some overclocking.

What the heck are you talking about? Unless they're really poorly optimized this GPU will run any game from that era at well above 100 FPS as long as the CPU can keep up.
@@pixelfire6121 So I ended up just going with it.... And it was rough. It removed my xt flash and my OC on my CPU. After re-flashing the xt bios and overclocking the cpu it seemed like it was good until I noticed that there isn't FRTC in the new adrenaline. So if you want to frame cap you only have Chill. Hope that is clear.
@@pixelfire6121 well if frtc is a maximum cap of frame rates that you will never go over, like my 5700 was getting around 380 fps on dead space 2 for instance, it was utilizing 98% of the gpu and pulling 260-280 watts of power. With frtc on capped at 144 fps (1440 monitor @ 144 htz) I was using about 3% gpu with 100 watts. Chill reduces fps from zero up. So at idle while your not moving it would drop to 40 fps then up to 60 while your running etc.
@@pixelfire6121 so chill doesn't necessarily stop the max fps of your card to prevent wasted gpu use. It just helps before the max is needed. It does ok if you set the min and max to the same value. It moves about 50 fps over occasionally. But games will be WAY smoother without wasted frames. At 98% utilization and 400 fps the games was glitchy and stuttered. Just set your chill fps to whatever refresh rate your monitor is and it will be ok till they add back frtc.

My Sapphire Pulse RX 5700 runs stable with 2050MHz and 40% power limit. A card with equal or better cooling should handle similar settings.

It's a very dangerous case of silicon lottery. I have tried a few things with my Vega 64
It's no more dangerous than standard overclocking. The Vega 64 is also a completely different GPU, and the top card in its pairing.

@@teksenunsal568 that's fine for Cyberpunk and generally 80° is fine. Max temp is 110 for this card (junction temp that is)

Yes, it's the straight reference card, with an undervolt to 1,176mV on a 2,005MHz overclock.

Its still a 5700. It doesnt flash the bios to a 5700xt. You would still install regular 5700 drivers. It just unlocks the clocks through software.

You're running at 1700mhz at 1050mvs. In the video they ran at an overclocked 2005mhz, which needs 1176mvs to run stable.

Probably not because the thermal solution is made better for the XT version. The non-XT may not be able to handle the extra heat.
