My Father-in-law is from 🇬🇾 GUYANA and makes a version of this every day. He is 70+ years old and is as healthy as a fiddle! I’ve eaten/drank this a few times and I wasn’t hungry for about 6 hours afterwards. He doesn’t use the seeds, nuts or dates. He uses banana, regular milk and oats and whips it up in the blender and heats it on the stove. He’s the Best Dad! 🥰🥰🥰💕💕💕💕

Made this with almond milk instead of water. Also skipped the dates, as it is sweet enough with just the banana. Turns out really tasty with the fresh peanuts blended together. Thanks for sharing this healthy recipe.

Great set of recipes!!! I'll be trying them all. FWIW, if you are using a Nutribullet, add the ingredients in this order:
    ► Step 1 - Veggies (1 cup)
    ► Step 2 - Fruits (1.5 cups)
    ► Step 3 - Thickener (optional, 1-2 tbsp)
    ► Step 4 - Boosters (flavour + nutrition)
    ► Step 5 - Liquid (1 cup or 250 ml)
The cup will be inserted into the blender upside down, thus a different order.

I was sceptical ‘no milk of any kind?’ but this is delicious. Made as stated except I didn’t rinse the oats... even put a cinnamon stick in not expecting it to fully blend 😉 The result, a creamy delicious, sweet but not sickly sweet, smoothie full of good clean ingredients. Thank you so much for this.... I’ll be making it again and again for sure 😋

Hmm. I never rinse oats after soaking. I was soaking merely to soften them. How much of a problem are phytates? And does any of the good stuff in oats get rinsed away with the phytates? Plus, phytates seem to have anti-osteoporosis and anti-cancer benefits.
    -
PS - a good smoothie can be made from just about any combination of oats, nuts, seeds, fruit plus your favorite liquid and spices of choice. Almost anything you happen to have on hand will work!

Hmm that interesting about the anti-osteoporosis benefits. I recently learned in a chemistry course that foods that contain phytates ( phytic acid ) are known to decrease calcium absorption into the body decreasing the bones ability to use it so I googled it and also see that the internet is saying it can be good or bad for bones 😂 ! I’m guessing maybe it all depends on the amount of intake maybe 🤔! Either way pretty interesting to me !

It’s wayyyyyyyyy more carbs, fat, and polysaccharides than protein. Not much protein at all really. Looked at this channel and most of the recipes are more about “tasting good” and catering to a persons weaknesses instead of teaching discipline when it comes to nutrition. This channel is just another cooking show for people who haven’t conquered their cravings.

@@revasgs6038 Do you not understand that that oats are carbohydrates, that carbohydrates are broken down to sugar? Fibre is carbohydrate although humans don't possess the enzymes to break it down unlike a cow which does. Peanuts are principally carbs, fat and some protein. Dates are pure sugar, fructose which is bad. Glycemic index makes little difference to how food is metabolised. OK carbs with lower glycemic index will take a little longer to metabolise but not much longer. If you believe this recipe is healthy keep on filling your face with it. You'll end up pre-diabetic and with any luck insulin resistant developing T2 diabetes.
