Too much modification work on the OEM fuel module. Your company should simply manufacture a replacement module that replaces the OEM as it could easily be molded to include all of the need changes and fittings into the plastic replacement module. Not everyone is going to have the talent needed to grind away on the OEM part and may just damage it causing them to have to buy another OEM fuel module assembly and try again. Too much room for mistakes on this idea.

I wonder if the pre-2005 modules would fit in these later model tanks. No pumps in those ones.
@@caseyl3631 As much as these pump systems make a lot of sense, I just cannot accept the factory OEM fuel tank module getting dismantled and converted. There should be a seperate replacement that is already engineered for the FASS or other makes of pumps. That's a lot of work to get to a part that then has to be modified and once again when the fuel gauge craps out. Better yet, if you ever decide to remove the system, you have to purchase another module assy and replace the modified one. The rest of their system appears very good quality and engineering. Going through the modification process every time the module needs replaced isn't impressive especially if it cracks or fails on the road and you have to fiddle with it in a strange location possibly with limited resources.
There is do a sump it eliminates all that plus if you have a failure in you fass you just un plug the fass and plug your factory back in
I agree, too many things could go wrong from a simple mistake, I am getting sick of these modifying jobs, I could probably do it successfully, but probably is not good enough!!
What about for my 2018 with dual fuel filters and the water in fuel sensors.... what do I need to make that all work

Does installing a Beans Sump with supply and return prevent from having to drop the tank?
No you still need to drop the tank or lift your bed up
You do not have to drop the tank I did not drop my tank when I did mine
Can I do this type of install on a 2006 F250? I bought the Sig. Series a year ago while I was building my engine so I have the dip tube model.

question 1: is it necessary to use a bypass for the front filter on the engine side?

are these systems for trucks only or could they be fitted to 4x4 from other makes such as Landrover TD5 (prone to fuel pump issues)
Great question, and our fuel systems are meant for diesel applications only. One of our universal systems would be good to use. I do apologize as we wouldn't have a kit though so there would be some plumbing required for this. Put your money where your video is and after you make that one make one with you running the 5 gallo water mix in the truck use a clear tank so I can see that cloudy fuel

Since thoroughbred diesel won't get back to me, is it ok to leave the factory fuel filter and water separator as they are? Will it cause a check engine light since it's being bypassed?

@@BiggusDickus2 gotcha, and yes you would be ok to leave the factory filters on the truck. In the case you would want to delete the factory fuel filters we make a kit for these trucks though. If you have any other questions as well please reach out to our service team at 636-433-5410.

Thank you! And we certainly can. Typically, the trucks we install systems on for media purposes have the OEM fuel tank, but we'll keep our eyes open for an S&B-equipped truck.
I have the 100gph on my 5.9 cummins with a dual output Beans sump. Setup works great. Beware of dealing with customer service. I needed an extra 3’ of fuel hose to complete installation. $3 a foot was told. Great send it to me! Got charged $57 shipping and they put a value of $100 on customs form for Canada so got stung with another $15 in duty. $87 us or $107 Canadian for 3’ of hose. Long box crew cab truck.

Do you need to drill any holes in the basket to allow more fuel to flow into the basket? The air dog installation wants you to drill holes since you are drawing more fuel.

Great question, and yes to install the draw straw we ask for larger drilled holes in the fuel module assembly. This is to thread our larger fittings into the top of the assembly for better fuel flow.
We also completely understand if that is something that you don't want to mess with, or don't feel comfortable doing.
On our site, we also offer fuel sump kits that much like the beans style will install at the bottom of the tank.

@@benholmes2635 Great question and the draw straw will feed from the bottom of the basket. This also helps with the 1/4 tank issue.

I did the XDP sump with the new Fass. Went together well. I left the stock fuel pump alone and just used it for the engine return.

the airdog only requires one hole and don't have to trim the top of the sending unit.
airdog mounts to frame rather than a bed bolt that can allow movement
this video convinced me not to buy a fass too much to go wrong
Great tutorial to add my two cents. Right before you completely raise the tank connect your tank electrical connectors. Just to make things a bit easier on the back end.
So no drilling into the basket just remove the screen on the bottom is enough? Is that correct?
*** Update I installed my 95g last weekend on my 14 Ram long bed. You have to cut the zip ties a long the filler neck for the plastic vent lines to drop the tank down. I didn’t see that in the install doc. Also will a long bed your going to need about 17 1/2 ft no less. I had to go to Napa for a 12 ft long fuel hose. I had 16 5/8ft in the box. I also bout the heater disk. The fuse holder doesn’t come with a mini for the ram. ***

Great question! This system will bypass your factory filters.
Convoluted tubing? Corrugated?
The white tubing that comes with the TS D07 kit is PTFE. The black flexible tubing is Viton.
I just installed mine on my 99, it wasn't bad at all and looks pretty clean, but now I have been chasing the problem of the pump not getting power to turn on. Test light shows no power to the pump changed the relay twice to confirm.
You ever get it figured out? Buddy having the same issue on his 13

Yes but no memory of what I did to fix it... but I do remember having to get another pump sent to me, which they did without any fuss which was nice, other than that no idea how I fixed it.

If I use a sump pump can’t I skip dropping the tank and modding the old fuel pump ?
You could use a STK-5500BO No Drop Sump if you do not want to drop the tank.
@@FASSFuelSystems When using a sump bowl for send and/or return don’t you still have to disconnect the electrical power to the stock pump inside the tank? Only way to do that is by dropping the tank and pulling it out... otherwise power will still be sent to the stock pump, correct? Or is power only sent to the internal fuel level unit via the FASS supplied electrical connector?
@@andymike6575 The WH-1004-3 Wiring Harness that is included with the TS D07 kits will plug into the factory sending unit and redirect power to our relay. This will keep the factory pump from running and trigger the FASS pump to run.

Estimated time for install?
Great question! The install time will vary quite a bit depending on familiarity with FASS systems, mechanical knowledge, and available tools.
That said, our in-house installers can typically complete one of these kits in about 3-4 hours.
Why would you leave the factory fuel pump wiring on the assembly? Better to pull the wires out of the connector.
Question; I just pulled my tank to do a sending unit replacement. The front and rear vent fittings have nothing attached to them, unlike the tank in this video which has a tube connected between them. Is there a one way valve as part of that fitting or was there something left off my truck fuel tank? It's a 2004 if that matters.
Did you cut your wires I want to cut mine out of there I don't see a reason for them to dangle in the fuel
@@227lazer Mine didn't have in tank fuel pump, that started in 2005. I did replace the float assembly and cut wires near the top of unit and butt spliced the new sending unit wires to them. Been working fine.

Why does my fass pump shut off when i hit a bump?
Yeah, take VERY CLOSE CARE on what port on your module has the arrow pointing to or away!!! I got confused and just basically watched very closely at what side he air sawed off and drilled into for the bulkhead suction line fitting. When I finished install I had diesel pouring out of the line that doesn’t reconnect to anything on top of the module. I went up front on frame rails and cut return line and hooked it up to original supply line to get my return fuel from engine back into the tank...
He must never had anything land in his eyes before, hence no need for safety glasses....
My brand new fass for my 2017 didnt come with those supply and return just the red bulkhead
TYLER GOOCH those are a different don’t come with the kit man. Those are part of the suction kit mod.
Wish the install for Cummins was as easy as my Duramax. Didn’t have to drop the damn tank. Want one for my Cummins but this install is crazy and I refuse to pay someone the same price as the fass in labor🥴
