    I just bought a 2001 3500, and it's in the shop having a fass lift installed this week. im excited it had set for a while, so the tank was full of water and allgie. It's getting r&r cleaning with fresh fuel, and hopefully, it will be ready to go.

    I put my Fass fuel system on my 99 2500 15 yrs ago and have not had a once of trouble out of it. I do like the new fuel fittings they put in the kit., The old ones were a bitch to push up all the way.

    Fleece makes an upgraded sending unit that allows you to connect the 1/2" hoses to the fass system. Wish I would have known this before I did the draw straw.

    I’m getting ready to install my FASS on my 96 5.9 12 valve Cummins diesel. My question is, what am I supposed to do about my manual lift pump, do I cover the hole where it came out or just leave it in? I’m sure you going to say take it out or it’ll fry the manual pump but the question remains. When I pull it does anybody make a cover plate or do I make one myself?

    Hey I have a dumb question. I bought my 06.5’ 3500 with a 5.9er and it had a Titanium 150 on it but the harness got messed up so I’m in the middle of replacing but was just making sure I’m getting the electrical hook ups right and I noticed you said you spliced into factory wiring over top of tank so I’m wondering what you meant? I should t need to drop the tank just to replace the harness right? And thanks for the vids and love the music super cheerful lol!

  • @madman432000

    I know this is a year old but just wondering about leaving the stock in tank pump assembly installed, is it available in an emergency like if the FASS unit dies? Would it just require a couple fuel line swaps to use? I thought I saw an install vid where they gutted the stock fuel pump and installed the draw straw in that assembly? Mine is a 2004 so no in tank pump assembly and I think that was an option at one time to retain the stock lift pump along with the FASS system Just In Case....

    • @chances.3238
      @chances.3238 4 роки тому

      Honestly I don't want to use my stock sump pump, and you'd have to change wire plug ins and fuel lines to reuse, plus reuse old main fuel line from fuel tank to the motor, not worth the time. Also, you shouldn't have any issues out of the FASS 165, iv got mine on my o6 cummins. It works great and could tell a difference after it was installed. A little more mpg, smoother idle, and a few other things

      you need a fuel pressue gauge then I bet once you start getting below a half tank your lift pump pressure will start fluctating and once down to a quarter it will start eading zero. You wont feel your truck start cutting out unlesss your lift pump pressure gets real bad

    • @nicholas_hoaglan_2157
      @nicholas_hoaglan_2157 6 років тому

      you need to modify your fuel module and put your draw straw to suck out of the module... Our trucks have a ridiculously long skinny tank and sucking out of the module will keep the straw in fuel even when all the fuel sloshes away from the pickup. Trust me get a fuel pressure and rail pressure gauge your cp3 will thank you

    • @VBELTandSON
      @VBELTandSON  6 років тому

      Nicholas_ Hoaglan_215 have a fuel pressure gauge. Just ran down to the red on E no hip ups on fuel pressure. Why you thinking there should be an issue?

    • @nicholas_hoaglan_2157
      @nicholas_hoaglan_2157 6 років тому

      Also if you wanted todo it the way your doing it you should have left the tank mounted lifted the bed and left the tank full of fuel cus the bottom of the tank sags down a couple inches with fuel in it. So i bet your daw straw is litterally inches off the bottom all bad...

    Kinda like the old way of hooking up the draw straw and return line. New style has ya drilling holes in the old pump housing. There is a bit of prep involved there.

    I'd like to know the results. Any better mileage? Power? I've got 2001 RAM2500 and I want to install this system.

    • @VBELTandSON
      @VBELTandSON  5 років тому +2

      ManInTheBigHat my dad has an 01 3500 with a fass installed. Truck sounds a lot healthy with the fass installed. No air bubbles and cleaner diesel. Idk about power but it’s very well worth the install. I recommend it. Especially for a 24v. Safety for if the stock pump drops. Protect your vp44. Dad only has a 95gpm. More than enough. Has a fuel pressure gauge instal to monitor it working. 👌🏻

    • @davidbottles7298
      @davidbottles7298 5 років тому

      ManInTheBigHat I have a Fass 150/150 on my 2003. Power is better because it has full supply of fuel pressure of about 14.5 psi. Stock pump will drop to about 2.5-3 psi at WOT. So less throttle to get the job done= for me about 2 miles per gallon better mileage. Is worth every penny. You want to protect your VP44 injection pump.
