    I was extremely nervous to alter the fuel sending unit during this install but this video made everything simple and easy. I utilized both the instructions and this video side by side and the video was much simpler and easy to follow. Great video and great product. I immediately noticed the results in my truck. Would totally recommend this product and video.

      why do some lif tpumps require you to drop the tank and alter the sending unit but others dont? Whats the advantage? Looking at buying a '15 lml and want to add a lift pump to protect the CP4 but I dont understand why this video has them altering the sending unit but other videos and instructions Ive found do not.

      @@andrewjordan9183 The videos that you are referring to are 11-15 LML. The 15.5-16 LML is the same body style, with slight differences mechanically. The fuel sending unit in 15.5+ are more restrictive and require drilling. If you're unsure which LML you have, you can look at the exhaust where it is bolted to the downpipe right behind the passenger front tire, behind the frame. If the exhaust is held onto the downpipe with a clamp, it is 11-15. If it is held on with three bolts, it is a 15.5-16.

      if you still got that duramax stop driving it immediately and ditch that junk cp4 with a cp3 conversion before you have to spend 10k in a whole fuel system

    Damnnn and here i had it backwards
    Now based off the diagram on the back of the filter and this video i noticed i been running for over a year now with my system improperly!
    Alot of people are under the impression that the low tube is for the Fuel filter rather the Water seperator so ive had mine swapped and ive had a shit ton of issues not realizing thats the issue!
    My new filters arrived today and i was looking at the diagram i didnt realize that with the Black base units on the LMLs the low tube is in fact meant for the water seperators!
    it might explain the intermittent Hesitation ive been having because the filters were not in the right locations!
    The water seperator was on the suction side!

    Do you have to modify the fuel tank module? Will the pump be able to be installed and will work without doing that?

    • @FASSFuelSystems
      @FASSFuelSystems  Рік тому +1

      Great question! Yes, this system is designed to integrate with the OEM in-tank module, and that installation method does require some simple modification.
      However, you can also opt for a sump kit, which will bypass the in-tank module altogether.
      We definitely recommend utilizing the OEM pick-up module whenever possible to ensure maximum fuel range, but a sump is a solid option for the simplest install.

    Dumb question but isn’t putting grease on to any fuel component going to contaminate it?

    • @FASSFuelSystems
      @FASSFuelSystems  3 роки тому +3

      That's a great question! The amounts used are very, very minimal and virtually none ends up in the actual fuel line. If some were to get into the actual system, it would either be filtered or burned off without any issues.

  • @ethantodd4921
    @ethantodd4921 4 роки тому +1

    So it looks like you are returning fuel through the old suction line. Is that correct? I've been thinking of adding a sump but don't like it hanging from the bottom of the tank this looks much better

    • @mrkanook9226
      @mrkanook9226 4 роки тому

      Look to see it your truck has the fuel tank skid plate. I went with the new Beans sump and the sump is hidden under the plate. It is also a lot easier to install the sump. Just make sure that the truck is almost empty and then jack the rear end up as high as you can get it so the fuel go forward some. I drill right where the flat spot is and some fuel came out which is great because it washed out the plastic shavings from drilling. Did it over a year ago and no problems.

    • @FASSFuelSystems
      @FASSFuelSystems  3 роки тому +1

      We are returning fuel to the factory suction line on the 15-16 Duramax. This helps keep the basket in the sending unit full of fuel at low tank levels.

      The 15-16 Duramax sending unit is more restrictive than the 01-14 Duramax. Modifying the factory sending unit will eliminate that restriction.
