@@savage22bolt32 Same here. I have a healthy BMI, am reasonably fit, no major health issues except feeling low-energy and being prone to depressive episodes. Figured that I'm just built that way, now I'm not so sure.
I've been doing Keto for a while (~8 months) last year with some very good results, but I still had some issues that I chalked up to mineral deficiencies (feet cramps, mainly, ranging from mildly annoying to hellishly painful). I don't have these when I eat carbs, so I figured that some sort of nutricient deficiency was the problem. And, as mrs. Peterson says, gotta listen to Your body, right? Diet change = cramps, so don't do that diet. Seems logical enough.
Now after diving deeper into this whole carnivore thing, I'm beginning to think: Maybe the problem wasn't "not enough carbs", maybe the problem was "too many plants". I did tend to get my fats from nuts, oils and avocados rather than animal sources (I couldn't stomach tallow and I don't particularly love bacon, especially for extended time periods...). My live-in girlfriend is going to be away for ~ 4 weeks the week after this one, I've already started doing keto again. I plan to do full carnivore once she's gone - cut out dairy if I can manage it, too, maybe eggs as well - see how it works for me. Despite all the testimonies, I still am a bit scared to cut everything; I can't afford to buy quality meat and I don't want to get some severe mineral or vitamin deficiency so I'd like to keep the vitamin+mineral bombs that eggs famously are, and some dairy products just make the meals much more platable to me (creme fraiche in particular) / make it easier to keep my fat intake sufficiently high (butter).

@@savage22bolt32 do it you'll be amazed. In less than two weeks my guts stopped hurting when I work, and the foamy, amber urine has turned to light yellow with a LOT less foam. Kind of have to step up my intake though. I've been doing a pound of 75% fat meat, and eight eggs per day. I lost the little bloat bulge in my gut already, but I was always thin and now I've lost some weight and i'm super skinny. I have to add a pound of meat/day I think. But I have to tell you I'm really stoked at the insanely fast results I'm getting.

There's a lot of "brain fog" I guess and so I'll try to get up and do something but I'll just forget 5 minutes later when I'm in the middle of it and go sit back down. Maybe you find something more harmless else instead if you want, but personally I wouldn't stick to exactly that of all of things that are available.

I'm 45 but feel 20! Thank you Mikhaila for sharing your brave story and to all the other carnivores out there who have helped me on the way, Dr Berry, Dr Chaffee, Dr Baker, Bella the Steak & Butter Gal, Kent Carnivore, Homestead How etc etc ALL of you! I almost died in 2020. During covid, I was so sick with an autoimmune disease that when I was finally able to see a Dr. she could not believe I was still alive when she got my blood work back. I was constantly hearing voices, seeing people who were not there during this time. I experienced seizures collapsing with sudden neurological spasms. All my Drs couldn't find anything wrong with me. I was one month married when I got sick and thought I was spending my last few months alive with him. Long story short, I'm 99% recovered by doing a lot of the same things she's done and now am coaching friends and family a new way to live. I have a dream to someday share my experience like her.

I am 67 years old. For many years I suffered from major pain. My doctors were loading me down with narcotics (Vicodin/Oxy/Flexeril/etc.) and other drugs. I have always believed that you cannot take a drug without it negatively affecting your body. However, since I was nursing my mother, I took the pain pills so that I could stay on my feet. The day Mom died I quit taking all drugs. I was living with incredible pain. Then I became very ill and relapsed 3 times and was hospitalized. So, I made the decision to go on a Plant Based diet. I loved the food ... but it nearly killed me. I became much worse and the pain increased to the point I could barely walk. Plus, I was covered in Oxalate rashes. Then I listened to Mikhaila about her health problems. Based on what she said I immediately switched to the Carnivore diet ... which was around Christmas 2022. In less than a week I had a dramatic improvement in my health. In less than two weeks the majority of my pain was gone. My Arthritis is gone - including the swelling ... my Fibromyalgia is gone ... my Joint problems are gone, my daily Nausea is gone, etc. Too many improvements to list here. I have also lost 103 pounds and finally got myself to the gym and signed up with a Trainer. Had I not personally experienced this I would not have believed it was possible. Yes, I did experience the dieting flu symptoms. But that was easy to deal with because the pain was being sucked out of me. Thank You Mikhaila! My sincere appreciation to you for making your videos.

I can relate so much to Mikhaila, and in a way I'm so happy to see I'm not alone with these problems. For some reason my health collapsed when I was 20. I had all sorts of issues, but the most noticeable one was my skin. Rashes, eczema, tiny wounds, itchy red spots all over my face and body, and they all got worse and more itchy every time I ate food. I started making the connections with food and my skin problems, and I eliminated most foods until I was left with only beef, lamb, salt. I stuck with only eating meat for a while, and also started taking cetrizine, and I soon recovered almost completely. For some reason eating pure beef just doesn't irritate my body. No stomach pains, no eczema, no itching, no brain fog. After 1-2 years with only eating beef I went to check my blood levels, and for some reason my vitamins and everything were perfectly well balanced. No deficiencies. I figured out this all on my own with just listening to my body, I had no idea there were such thing as carnivore diet, but I'm happy to see this stuff is being recognized.

I have a playlist on my channel, "kick cancer in the face with your boots on" it has a ton of videos, from medical professionals on the subject. My dad died of cancer(treatments) last year, while his doctors told his to eat all the sugar he could(wrong), so I am kind of on a mission to let everyone possible know about this new line of thinking. I am not affiliated with these channels in any way at all, just trying to do my tiny part to help humanity. Check the playlist, or look up Dr. Thomas Seyfried or cancer as a metabolic disease here on youtube. Dr. Seyfried also has a book. If you find the logic as convincing as I did, please tell EVERYONE. At 400,000 bucks profit per patient, we can't count on these megacorps to spread the word for us.

Yep doctors look at my symptoms and say I'm crazy and need psyche meds. I started carnivore a week ago and my anxiety is GONE. My stomach problems are GONE. I feel better then I have in years and I'm pissed. All these doctors had to do was look into my diet just a little and they could have put two and two together but I was left to figure it out myself while on and off anti depressants and anxiety pills.

    I’ve been a registered nurse since 1998.
I didn’t realize just how entrenched the pharmaceuticals are American medicine.
I mean, the medical schools are funded by the pharmaceutical industry. Well, I mean, it makes sense, right? You need brainwashed doctors to push your chemicals. I learned that doctors also get ‘incentives’ to write prescriptions? Yes, there is a website you can visit, to see the incentives your doctor is receiving. It’s really quite disturbing. Doctors were and are being incentivized to write prescriptions, knowing it may not be the correct prescription, just a prescription that has an incentive attached. It’s wrong.

Man, hearing her story makes me feel a lot better, especially when she said that if you don't want to get out of bed in the morning something is not right. I always wondered if I was just lazy too, because I would lounge around and sleep all the time even though I'm a fairly ambitious person. I did keto after I found out I had reactive hypoglycemia my senior year of college, and it turned my whole life around. I lost 30 pounds, stabilized my blood sugar, and my mood improved drastically. I went from struggling to get out of bed and falling asleep after eating anything to lifting weights every day and running up to ten miles a few times a week. Amazing! Anytime I slip up I get very ill and depressed, not to the degree of Peterson, but still horrible for me. My mom and brother both have significant autoimmune diseases and I'm trying to avoid going down that route myself. I would recommend carnivore until you feel good, and then reintroducing things to see what works for you- if you have similar issues.

Seeing that the idea is to basically eliminate the need for insulin by hardly taking in carbs, one should be pretty safe on that issue. It's very hard to find the root of an issue though. It takes time. By treating the symptoms, you are helping the doctor search for the cause.
I agree with you on the BIG issues though. 75% of all hospitalizations and deaths dues to illnesses are treatable issues. 80% of heart disease is preventable and reversible through diet and exercise. 50% of cancers are preventable. 85%+ of diabetes is preventable and reversible with diet and exercise. 90% of liver disease is preventable and many reversible (by stopping the consumption of alcohol).
The majority of health care spending is on preventable illnesses due to our shitty diets and lazy lifestyles. As a healthy person, I hate the fact that my health insurance is so high because of the people in my group policy are NOT so healthy.

6 weeks later : bloating gone, skin down to just a residual 'shadow' on the skin, scalp normal, energy waaaay up.
10 weeks later: skin fully healed, digestion normal, can now tolerate small portions of dairy and glutenous foods while maintaining the main diet as the AIP backbone.

How refreshing and inspirational, Mikhaila!! You give me SUCH HOPE that perhaps I'm still feeling terrible while eating a nose to tail carnivore diet because I'm allergic/sensitive to raw egg yolks, wild Alaskan Sockeye Salmon, Sardines, the fresh lemon I eat to help remove oxalates safely from my kidneys, or the raw liver I eat each day? I'll give myself another week eating these foods, as I did finally just remove romaine lettuce yesterday after being vegan/raw vegan for most of my adult life...I'm now 58 years old. I've taken the past year to gradually remove plants from my diet after doctors told me last summer that I would die in the near future if I continued the vegan diet and I HAD to start eating red meat and fish to bring me out of the starvation mode that my body was in. I was totally unable to absorb nutrients. I've been completely exhausted, brain fog, sore stiff joints and muscles, neuropathy in my swollen feet and ankles, hair falling out, unable to gain weight. I'm 5' 8" tall and currently weigh 96 pounds. Praying the carnivore diet will reverse the damage that plants and other foods and environmental exposures have done to my body and put me on the path towards healing and being filled with vitality once again. I also have the homozygous genes for Celiac and MTHFR. Wondering if I'm also extremely sensitive to most foods and will I only be able to thrive on pasture raised beef or wild bison and salt... Thank you SO much for sharing your story with the world, Mikhaila!! You're saving SO many lives! You are a Gift from God! 💖

That is not self pity what she exuded there. Have you ever endured profound pain or illness? I genuinely hope you have not, but some peoples struggles are beyond hell and briefly reliving them like that dredges up very real emotions.

@@williammatthews4122 I suspect a large part of that compassion for others stems from his own struggles with depression and over coming other struggles in his life. You can't truly empathize with people unless you deeply understand what it is they're going through and have experienced it yourself. And so when he wells up with emotion I suspect it is in no small part from his own life experiences, and not just purely genuine empathy for others.

I am starting beef and water only - from tomorrow. So many things similar to your story, celiac, arthritis, skin issues, hormonal, thyroid, allergies... never ending story. I am much better on carnivore for the last 6 mths, lost 60 lbs, more energy, thyroid issues gone, arthritis and celiac not bothering me anymore. I hope beef only will get me the best health possible after 40 yrs of eating food that was killing me. Thank you for showing me the way!

No question the Peterson family are a Canadian national treasure!!!!! This was extremely inspiring and I heard just what I needed to hear!!! I first noticed I was bloated when I was six years old hanging around with my cousin who always look way leaner than me. Back then I remember thinking... "it must just be baby fat" and wished it would go away. Never been really fat but always had that underlying bloat. Looks like I am going to try all meat.

Carnivore is the only time I’ve ever had zero bloat. Helped me figure out that fiber is what makes me bloated. Zero fiber = zero bloat

So lovely to see the Mikhaila JP often mentions.
It is so comforting and enlightening to find that JP refers to his kids as a joy, as offering him more than he gives them, in general encouraging having children,....not because he or his kids had it easy. I love the way JP talks of children. I always wished to know more about his children.
Edit: I wrote the comment before actually watching the video. Saw her, read the description and wrote the comment.
I definitely have a lot more emotions now that I have watched the video.

Having a support system when you make such significant dietary changes is crucial to your success. The psychological impact of not eating out, cooking food you cannot eat, avoiding pot lucks at work makes extreme eating very difficult.
