Diet is oftentimes the best medicine!
Actually raw honey is very good for you, it is not bee vomit. Just because someone says they are a doctor doesn't mean they actually are. 2 minutes in, and nope this is not working. I'll find someone who knows what they are talking about, because this man does not.
Hippocrates once said "Let food be your medicine and medicine be your food'. The Hippocratic Oath used to be the foundation of all med schooling but alas no longer.
Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.
@@EmeraldEyesEsoteric It is processed in a way that makes it seem like vomit to humans. Raw honey may be good for you, but this talk discusses healthy options without honey.
Watching your videos here on UA-cam has changed my life - 42 days ago I was a 100% disabled combat veteran who lost his wife October last year…I was 193lbs at 5’8” and couldn’t do anything with my twin 6 year old boys. Most days I stayed in bed, sometimes not even able to use the bathroom by myself.
I had enough, quit taking all my medicine except for my injections every 90 days and started fasting while finding a diet with science behind it tailoring to my TBI/MS with accompanying complications.
After 4 days of fasting I got a couple of 25lbs dumbbells for upper body strength and one bigger 50lb weight for lower body strength.
I have now been doing my regular routines every day, carnivore diet and intermittent fasting for a grand total of 42 days - I cannot begin to explain what a difference it has made in our lives. Daddy is back with a vengeance with a body of a fit college kid and down to about 9% body fat…I look and FEEL absolutely amazing and everyone around me, especially my kids, are just flabbergasted and dumbstruck about my transformation.
After being alone, depressed and cooped up in my bedroom for an entire year…I am now participating in my kids soccer, gymnastics and flag football…no pain, no ataxia and no worries!!!
TRY THIS PLEASE PEOPLE, YOU WON’T BE DISAPPOINTED.
Wow, this is an absolutely beautiful story. I'm surprised no one else commented! I'm so happy for you and for your boys. You have changed the course of their lives, and yours, forever! How are you doing with it now?
Fantastic! Well done you👍🏼👏👏💪
well done brother
@@Lanashmeyshmey No one commented on it because it's bullshit.
@@benscott19841 Thanks. He's done all he said for 42 days and gone from 193lbs to 9% body fat?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? I call BS. This guy is trolling. I hope no one else fell for it.
While I agree that honey has too many carbs to qualify for the carnivore diet, honey is not bee vomit. Bees carry nectar back to the hive in a pouch in their esophagus (after all, they can't really carry around tiny little buckets); it never gets down to the stomach and so, technically, it is not vomit. We beekeepers really don't like to hear that honey is bee vomit; we especially don't appreciate hearing it from a medical professional who should know better than to use such terminology to refer to a valuable agricultural product. In addition, I am a retired veterinarian. Believe me, I know the difference between vomit & honey.
So spit, not vomit.
It took the video down a notch immediatly as soon as he said it. Kinda cringe as we are in the same area as when vegans say "eggs are hens periods and it's disgusting to eat" - hello ideology.
In the same way that milk/cream (for your butter) is similar to mucous/snot?...sure. But no, no saliva, at least, not as we know it to be. Besides, in the grand scheme of things, saliva is better than vomit.@@chad1659
Agreed. I mean, honey has been used as food for thousands of years. For a medical doctor to compare honey to vomit, in order to keep people from consuming it, seems manipulative to me.@@violakarl6900
Honey is a food, not a breakdown or decay of food. Bees use their honey pouches to store it (not stomachs) and then add enzymes to it when they release it back up through their mouths. The expressed concern for those on a carnivore diet that the honey is primarily carbs is valid but honey is not regurgitated matter from the stomach. It is stored nectar in the honey pouch and enzymes are added by the bees as part of the process of making honey. Honey is known throughout time to restore health in the body as well as give important nutrients for sustenance. It is and has been beneficial to countless numbers of human beings. I find much of this doctor’s understanding of how the body meets nutritional needs and the processes it uses as being both rudimentary and overall not sound. For another example he recommends a supplement (he said he would put in the description but it’s not there) that is as far from eating nutrients the way our ancestors ate them as it gets. There are no supplements that can substitute for eating animals and animal by products via a manufacturing process that is anything near the same as the products themselves. I’m not against supplements, it depends on a number of factors. My point is that he wholesale discounts, for example, all collagen powder but then recommends this particular supplement company that indeed manufactures collagen, along with glandulars and fish eggs and intestines. Intestinal contents by the way are pre digested food that is in the process of breaking down. It is a great source of nutrients BUT if we are talking about something that has gone through the stomach (of ruminants) and is now in a state of break down through fermentation, it isn’t food but rather it is pre digested material - similar to what he is claiming honey to be. But nectar in the pouch of a bee for transport is not pre digested, thus it’s not breaking down. I’m not saying that those on a carnivore or keto diet want any carbs in their diet, often there is a strictness about carbs due to what some on these diets experience as soon as they have sugar or grains, which can be bloating and a sense of distress as the body uses bacteria and yeast to break down the carbs and sugars causing fermentation to achieve enzymes for transport. However unlike eating the predigested content of the intestines and stomachs of ruminants, honey is a food by all definitions. It is created through nectar and enzymes, not through a breakdown in the stomach and digestive tract.
Of note: Carbs become sugar as they break down, proteins become amino acids, and fats become fatty acids. When sugar is an issue for the body due in large part to the difficulty of the body in making enzymes for transport, a protein/fat diet can bypass this issue. However beware, you can see that some people running long term on solely protein/fat begin to cannibalise the tissues excessively. Tea and honey is good to explore as at least a bit of a bridge to a healthy carb. If excessive tissue loss (loss of muscle, ligaments, tendons, bone, cartilage) starts to occur, seek professional assistance. And, be sure to take feedback from those around you as to whether you’re waning, you may not notice the tissue loss is excessive. If the latter occurs, loss of tissue and an inability to perceive it occurring, it is serious as it is the definition of an eating disorder.

Thanks heaps. You’re a legend. 👍
There's one problem with this diet: gallstones. I had my gallbladder removed because of eating eggs. the underlying cause is cholesterol malabsorption. Since then I've had to eat lean not for weight loss, but to avoid digestion problems as I can no longer breakdown fat.
@@karenharrison885 You have been misinformed. Your gallbladder problem most likely was caused by having too many carbs from eating a standard american diet, not from eating eggs. You absolutely can do carnivore or keto without a gallbladder, many people have posted videos and comments that have done so. Your liver doesn't stop making bile.
Thank you❤.
Thank you very much!
I’m Celiac and doing Carnivore I can afford to buy the best of the best as I’m not forking out big money on GF breads and rubbish. I feel so much better, 64 going on 15. 😘
welcome to the 15's club!!!!
You save so much money too based on how much less you eat. Once you're fat adapted and eating fat rich foods, you can fast and go days or longer without having any hunger at all. The whole eat three meals a day everyday thing is crap.
I just got diagnosed with Celiac & other issues, so I'm starting a carnivore diet. I figured it was easier than trying to figure out where the lectins, oxalates & molds were hiding! The simplicity of shopping & cooking would be great if the rest of my family would join me, lol.
Have had the worst gluten rash yet, for a couple weeks. Cheated on keto to eat a giant plate of nachos from a restaurant. I'm slowly converting to carnivore. Feel like crap.
I just did a grocery shop and it was HALF the price of my normal shop. I even bought some fancy keto cheese "chips" and the best butter/bacon/eggs you can get in the store.
Today is month #9 on carnivore, I started out at 309 lbs. Now as of June 30th. I just tipped the scale at 197 lbs.
Yes I did still cheat, but have 90% carnivore. I went from size 46" jeans to 36" jeans, size XXXL shirts to XL shirts. People listen to this man, he knows what he's talking about......
I am starting this today. I weigh 238 and want to get below 200! I don't have a lot of money to do GF anything. What do you eat daily to lose weight and get healthy??
I eat a lot of eggs for one, made in as many ways I can I.e. fried, scrambled, boiled, lots of omelettes. Hamburger in lots of ways. Some with eggs, lots of bacon. But mostly you MUST CUT out all sugars, you MUST CUT out grains, you MUST CUT out soda’s, STOP using margarine and switch to butter. You can eat all meat products, just stay away from many spices.
day 21 here! started 341 now im 325 and feeling great!
Wow good for you! Amazing
Starting tomorrow I'm currently 370lbs. Goal is to be 310lbs. Trying to keep some bulk for football lol
Almost three months on carnivore and down 36lbs. Most importantly, I'm not in pain due to inflammation. I feel so awesome and my energy is crazy high.
Crazy. You didn't accomplish this with bee vomit, did ya? ;) Bee Hippies.
So, I got my step father of 75 years of age to do carnivore and he lost 25lbs in 2 weeks. His doctor freaked out and said that his liver enzymes are very high with this diet and the drug he takes that combats muscle fatigue. I suggested that he change his 3 meals a day habit and get rid of the drug. He has finally changed his eating habits once he regained the weight. He no longer takes the advice from the drug doctor. And now understands that the fewer meals a day from 11am to 4pm is key. Yay, he lost the weight that he struggled with. Bye bye food pyramid and 3 meals a day to support the food industry.
Good on YOU and thanks step Dad for listening and DOING. YEHHHHHHHHH
Side note. As a chef, if you are a customer on a specific diet and you simply say "I'm allergic to x" to make sure we take every precaution to keep it out your diet, please let us know when you book the table, not when sat with a menu. By letting us know when you book the table, we have time to prepare and take the right precautions whereas if you do it in the middle of a busy service, it adds stress onto the chefs and we have to spend longer on said customer, meaning all the other customers will wait longer 🙏
Thank you, this is important info

Thank you for taking the time to inform us about this. :)
Will also spit on your food... JK
Yes, I was taken aback at the restaurant message in here. Good input, original post.
1. Seafood, eggs and butter are just fine to eat
2. Eat fat
3. Eat enough electrolytes
4. Eat enough omega-3 and get get rid of vegetable oils
5. Eat organ meat (especially liver) and bone marrow
6. Eat collagen (not in powder)
7. Watch out for imitated seafood
8. No rubs, sauces, marinades and gravies
9. Don't go eating out (unless you're very clear about what you can't eat)
10. Quiting carnivore to soon
11. Don't limit your portions, eat as much you want
12. Try to limit processed meat (OK if you can't afford anything else)
13. Eat salt
14. Don't overcook your meat
15. You don't need to take supplements
So you can’t use a plane Gravy?
No bc gravy is made with cornstarch or flour.
What about olive oil?#4
Extra virgin olive oil, butter, saved bacon fat is fine. You can buy tubs of duck fat at the supermarket as well ( sold in the meat section)
@@Zobby447 Hello Matt. If your definition of plain gravy is the delicious stuff in the pan after you cook, oh boy yes! I will put a bit of water, bone broth, or roast stock into a pan to lift all the goody. But like Phyllis said, I don't add flour or corn starch.
Really enjoyed this video...I was told my whole life that I needed to eat fruits, vegetables, juices, grains and such. I never enjoyed them but I did eat them because I was told that is the way it is. When I got into my 20"s, with no one telling me what to do I ate strictly meat and I felt great. My only problem is I am an alcoholic. My reason for drinking was because I was a loner and never felt comfortable in social situations without being drunk. I did this for a very long time...I got married when I was 38 (for the first, and hopefuly the only time), I met a fantastic lady who is a very social (as if it's a bad thing) person and continued to drink to keep up with being social. I finally got sick of feeling like crap every morning from the booze and decided to quit. It was 2 weeks before I started to quit drinking that I ran into a friend of mine that I used to work with that told me he was on a carnivore diet. I asked, what is that and he told me he read a book by Shawn Baker, he tried it and he was feeling great. With the respect I had for my friend, I decided to try it and it changed my life!!! I did the carnivore thing, ate eggs, ribeye steaks, bacon, butter and sometimes some suit and before I new it I was feeling better. I decided to quit drinking beer (my flavor of choice) and I found it much easier to quit than I thought it would be. I don't know if the carnivore diet work for everyone but it's worth giving a try.
Bacon with nitrates and sugar? Isn't that a processed meat and not included?

37 days on carnivore for me = 32.6 pounds down, no more swelling in my feet and hands, no more am I anemic, no more snoring, no more exhaustion, no more hip pain, clear skin, and the life has returned to my eyes. Priceless!
I'm skeptical anyone could have those results that fast , speaking of which it's dangerous to lose that much so fast , hope ya seeing a doctor aften !
@@joecamel6835 I am eating well. No fasting yet. I just had my blood work done and it was great!!
GOD BLESS YOU!!! AMEN!!!
2 months since you posted this, can you update please? You should be over 60 days on.
I have been eating Vegan but I noticed I"ve gained about 20 pounds, I'm so tired that I can't hardly get out of bed.. my hair is thinning, my skin looks kind of creppy. I started the carnivor diet four days ago and I stepped on the scales this morning, I haven't bothered to weight myself because of disappointment! I lost 4.5 pounds!!!! I hope this will restore my hair and eyelashes.
I've been on it for 2 weeks, lost 12 pounds so far. I eat steaks, eggs, BACON!!, burgers, and water. I eat until full, and stop when full. I spend less as I eat only once a day usually, but I eat very well.
I’ve been on for 4 days and lost 12 pounds so far.
I did keto 3 and a half years ago and went from 432lbs to 231lbs in 18 months. However, over the following year, went back to old ways and got back up to 390lbs. Ive been struggling with keto this time round, the weight wast dropping off me like it did before so thought Id give this a whirl. 10 days in and so far so good, feel fuller than keto, no cravings, see how it goes.
There is a weird transition of about 3-5 days. When I first started I had a pop addiction. The transition days were very painful for some reason my pain went way up. I had chronic arthristis in my spine and muscle pain. After 3 days the pain went away and for some reason I couldn't drink the pop.. So my sugar intake went to basically zero.
One thing I recently learned though is you have to take vit D and A or you get acne. And I am trying to sort out this constipation issue but I assume I am lacking some nutrients somewhere but Ill figure it out. The weight loss in only 2 months is too impressive to go back to eating crap food.
Yep! Carnivore cured my IBS and I’ve been symptom free from Bipolar disorder for 3 years. Also reversed my type two diabetes!
That is fantastic! you go girl!

3mo into carnivore, nose to tail. Still use magnesium to have bowl movements. No boating or pain anymore. How long until you were pooping perfect little logs?
I live in Patagonia, it is a livestock area, mainly sheep and for many years the main diet of the population in my region was mutton and natural cow's milk and very few vegetables, the breakfasts of the farms were mutton chops and it was cooked with fat, in the houses people had chickens and fresh eggs, natural milk, fresh or cured mutton. We were always told that our diet was unhealthy, but there were very few obese people and the health of the people in my region compared to the rest of Chile was very good. My great-grandmother lived to be 104 years old and several of her siblings lived to be 96 and 98 years old. All those autoimmune diseases did not exist.
Could you share what a traditional breakfast, lunch and dinner consisted of? I'd love some ideas to recreate 👍💐
There are so many places on earth where the Western diet has destoyed the health of the people.
Long live Patagonia!

@@needparalegal that term "the deep state" is psychological warfare be careful attacking the "deep state" that's your subconscious mind your talking about. Dr. Berry I started carnivore four months ago. I am 70 years old, 5'6" tall and weighed 170 pounds. It was time for my annual physical. I had blood work done and a week later saw my physician. I have lost 15 pounds and am feeling pretty good except for a heaviness in my chest which was not severe but would come and go. I attributed the chest heaviness to low quality air in the city. I have always been athletic and I walk three to six miles a day everyday and ride my bike for fun. I got my blood work results and my cholesterol which had never been a concern with my doctor was: Total cholesterol 290 with LDL at 196. Looking back to my pre-carnivore blood work my total cholesterol was 259 with LDL at 168. My physician had not been concerned with my earlier cholesterol numbers though not in the normal range. She did not know I had been on a carnivore diet. I had not known my LDL cholesterol was high until she told me she was concerned on this most recent visit nor did she know about the tightness I was having intermittently in my chest. I immediately attributed the change to the carnivore diet. I love the carnivore diet and do not want to give it up. I also don't want to run into problems with my heart. I would very much appreciate your feedback.
I also have the tightness in my chest 2 months into the diet where as not before I don't have insurance can't afford labs am 58 y.o. 198lbs 5'5"
Oh boy I don't need this problem I already had high cholesterol and tightness in my chest. Did any of you find out if your problem was due to his new diet? If so please let me know. I'm 60 and don't want to drop dead because I decided to do some fad.
My LDL is 225 on statin 10mg daily. I don’t mind my LSL as long as other marker is good.
@@SongbirdRanch2005wow, 225 LDL? Are you feeling ok? My LDL is 91, and my HDL is 92. I’m 47 and my energy levels are always high, but I’ve been eating a clean whole foods plant based diet for 14 years (with lots of avocados and nuts), and I love walking - yesterday I walked 20km around the city
Retired husband and wife living in this house and mostly just Social Security for income. Too expensive is not an excuse for not eating carnivore. In the last week I bought large eggs for 77 cents a dozen, whole pork shoulders for 97 cents a lb, 10lb bag of chicken hind quarters for $4.38 for the bag, 80/20 hamburger for $1.99 and a whole beef brisket for $2.99. yes, having a freezer helps along with the ability to cut up my own meat but we honestly spend less money eating this way that we spent eating the SAD diet.
Fasting saves money too.
And all you have ended up with is bags of poison. Chicken are fed corn and grains, destroys nutritional content. Pork is feed lot raised on grains, just grains by proxy, same for cows.
@@alfrednewman292 you'd think that but you'd be wrong. it is true that the ratio of nutrients is different, but it is not devoid of nutrition or lacking, just a different ratio. while the system needs to change for the welfare of us, the environment, and the animals, the meat is still nutritious.
Alfred Newman yep 💯 correct
@@roostermako6749 No it is not, it is poisonous. Those grains fed to sickly cows at feed lots are of the GMO variety insuring direct intake of glyphosate, highly toxic. The only nutrition there is for cancer cells, not healthy cells. Also, the omega 6 to omega 3 ratios are grossly in favor of omega 6 which is very unhealthy. This diet of grains has also eliminated most of the minerals, enzymes and vitamins that animals get from eating fresh grasses. It has gotten so bad that it would be better not to eat meat at all if that is all you can get. But not to worry, Bill Gates will have an even more toxic mixture ready for all the little sheeple soon.

How much meat do you need on 1 meal ? Do you eat a variety of proteins and any eggs?
Dr Berry thank you for the down to earth presentation. I am 66 yrs and my health is a mess. I am overweight and frankly ready for the knackers yard. I have downloaded your free information booklet and bought your book kicking arse over 50. Looking forward to your insight into this amazing topic
Seeing a 3 yrs old video, and seeing more recent videos, shows you walk the talk. You look SO MUCH HEALTHIER! Bravo Doc, Bravo!!!! 👏🏽
Mistakes:
1. Forgetting that seafood, eggs and butter are carnivore
2. Eating too lean of a diet (too little fat). Ok to add more butter and egg yolks (pastured preferably) if you can only afford leaner cuts of meat.
3. Not getting enough electrolytes.
4. Not consuming enough omega 3 fatty acids.
5. Not eating organ meats
6. Not consuming enough collagen. (However, avoid powdered collagen -- a waste of money).
7. Eating imitation seafood
8. Consuming sauces, marinades, rubs and gravy
9. Eating out at restaurants without awareness of non-carnivore ingredients used to prepare your food
10. Quitting carnivore too soon (due to temporary discomfort experienced by some when first embarking on a carnivore diet)
11. Restrictng portions
12. Eating processed meats that contain carbs (sugar, grains)
13. Avoiding salt (Redmond's Real Salt is a good choice)
14. Overcooking your meat (don't cook beyond medium rare)
15. Taking supplements (they're unnecessary on a carnivore diet)
Guess I have to stop eating my meat well done and medium well. And get over slot of my meat aversions

Awesome!!! Great job, Keith.
1. Forgetting seafood/eggs/butter are carnivore
2. 2:10 Eating too lean, target 2:1 fat to protein grams
3. 4:37 Not getting enough electrolytes
4. 5:25 Not getting enough omega 3 fatty acids
5. 6:50 Not eating organ meats
6. 8:16 Not getting enough collagen (powder doesn't count)
7. 9:20 Don't eat imitation seafood (added oils, sugars, grains)
8. 10:03 Watch for carbs and bad oils in sauces, gravies, Dry rubs, etc.
9. 10:55 Watch for bad ingredients added to meat when eating out
10. 11:50 Quitting too soon, takes 4-8 weeks to feel good but sometimes even longer
11. 13:04 Portion restricting, eat until full
12. 14:30 Avoid processed meat (if you can afford it) and "natural flavourings"
13. 15:46 Restricting salt
14. 16:40 Over cooking meats, cooking breaks down nutrients, raw is ok if smells good
15 (controversial). Supplements are not needed with the proper human diet
Well in my case a supplement for muscle cramps are needed cause I can’t get rid of these damn muscle cramps in my feet, especially the toes ughh
2:1 fat to protein but I am confused because in that same statement it begins with " if you have significant fat to lose, this is what you want to burn, but as you transition.....". So what should the ratios be if you DO have significant fat to lose?
@@vibekelavan7843 Dr Anthony Chaffee says not to count anything just eat meat until you are comfortably full, but it seems like carnivore is getting more confusing, so for myself, I’m not adding sticks of butter, I will follow what my body tells me, If I’m hungry I eat if I’m not, then I don’t, if my skin gets dry then I will know to add some fat in slowly, I myself am not going to add a full stick of butter and I’m not counting macros, common sense to me is calories in calories burned, if you don’t burn the extra it get gets stored as fat, so just stay in tune with your body and might not hurt to keep a journal…
@@vibekelavan7843 It really depends. I had to really work on eating more fatty cuts of meat and I added butter over time. Not a stick of butter but a tablespoon. I have found for my own situation that I need the added fat to keep my energy up and for my mental health. I do take electrolytes on water during the day. If it is my day off, I take less. If I am working my physically and mentally exhausting job, I drink more. After I added butter, I was able to get to sleep and sleep through the night. So that was worth it to me.
Thank you, that was helpful.

Normal people: "How can I reduce fat in my steak?"
This doctor: "Your steak isn't fatty enough. Add some egg yolks, for god's sake."
🤣🤣🤣
Crazy to think about but it works so amazingly well! I lost 50lbs in just 3-4 months and got so much healthier.
Add butter. A great fat balancer

Thats great to hear man i have psoriasis and just started carnivore on day 4. How long did it take for results? Any tips you have would be so helpful 🙏
Foods I eat out on a carnivore diet. Steak 🥩 and Eggs 🥚. Steak rear to medium. Always have your eggs fried sunny side up or over medium. Never scrambled they maybe be adding additional ingredients and most likely are. Flying Dutchman at In-N-Out Burger or a location like it. 4 to 8 hamburger patties cheese onions tomatoes optional. No condiment sauces of any kind. That’s about it unless I’m with a group and a family and there’s not many other options you can almost always order some type of carnivore meats. Going off a little on rare occasions isn’t gonna be a problem it’s consistency that is key and that will be what you buy for yourself take home prepare and eat yourself so that you know best what’s going in your body and even then sometimes it’s hard to be exactly sure, what may all be in something. I want to thank you for your program. You are definitely on one of my top of the list though I still do some keto but mostly 8090% carnivore takes time but you lose weight. Your energy gets consistent you feel better and you feel better mentally and at 63 years old my painful body and mind can use all the help I can get. I’ve been gradually trying to wean myself off of more prescription pharmaceuticals. My Doberman and I will be having steak and eggs this evening.🥩🥩 🍳 🍳 🍳🍳😎😋😊

My husband did SO WELL with carnivore diet but he got bored with it and his "cheat" meals started turning into "cheat" days and so on... Don't let that happen to you.
Dr. Berry,. After being on keto for s while, I kind of eased myself into a carnivore diet. I've lost 30 lbs and continue to lose about a pound a day. Never hungry. Mental clarity. No side effects this far. Just wanted to share my progress with you.
Nice job!
Charline... These comments such as yours is giving me such hope... I have been doing carnivore for about one and a half months and am experiencing such a big relief of not being hungry all the time.
Good to hear!!
Hi Charlene. Thank you for this comment. I have been living a keto lifestyle for over 4 years and at first it worked so well and the last year I not only stopped losing but gained weight. I've been SO sad, just feeling terrible and grumpy. I feel like why do I bother? I am so strict with myself and everyone else doing this even cheats and still get so thin. I just started carnivore today and I'm really feeling this will work for me. Seeing your comments makes me smile. So happy for you and looking forward to a happier healthier me.
I tried it some years ago. Dr. Atkins diet. I lost weight but I got very constipated so I had to stop it.

I was laughing when you were talking about bee vomit. There was a nutritionist giving a talk about sugars and this young lady said but "honey wonderful bees make it for us and it is natural" to which he replied "syphilis is also natural and I won't be recommending it".
Happy Canada Day
LOL
Dr.Paul Saladino, , author of "The Carnivore Code", says that raw honey is very good for you and he even brushes his teeth with it. Not kidding.
Funny! I stopped with the honey, years ago; my brother has bees and still tries to give me some. Honey spikes insulin plain and simple--it's one of the 80 forms of sugar. Spiking insulin compromises your immune system -- kinda defeats the so-called purpose of honey. Meats give us vitamins, minerals and are by far more beneficial.

That sounds great. Will try that. I LOVE liver.
Excellent & informative. Thank you, Dr. Berry. I think it would be terrific if you & Gary Null had a friendly, civil debate about the benefits of a carnivore diet as compared/ contrasted to a vegan, plant-based diet. I think an audience of curious, intelligent, & relatively informed individuals who are concerned about the best health therapies, would benefit greatly from such a civil debate from two experts with consumer protection at heart.
Thanks for sharing this, new topic for me and found this very helpful…👍
Doc
My wife and I did. Ketogenic few years ago, lost a ton of weight, even the baby fat, we moved and derailed us, but we are starting the process again as of last week, the best thing I remember was how light on my feet I felt, and my stomach felt good, ever since my stomach has shown me it’s doesn’t like certain things, like bread, I love it, and as Chef it kills me. Thank you for such a serious science/history lesson on this topic, your doing Gods Work!
One little note for number 8. You can make a carnivore gravy with just the meat juices and cream. Stir them in the pan until it somewhat thickens and there you go. Play around with the amount til you get it where you like. It may not be as thick as regular gravies but boy howdy does it taste good.
A good carnivore thickener is beef gelatin powder.
@@PM-zb7jm I recently saw some beef powder mentioned in another recipe. Does it work reasonably well? Compared to say flour?
@@krisdeaglephotography4539 Very well! Good for healthy homemade jello too. Great in coffee…put tsp gelatin in cup and poor coffee on top and stir. Good natural source of glycine.
This is why i take time to scroll through the comments
Exactly. And I use cheese as well as thickener.
I never felt so bad physically and mentally as when I was vegan for two years. Always sick, fat, constant gut issues, depressed and always always hungry. Meat makes me feel full, energized and happy
What were you eating those two years?
I was strictly vegan for a year. I thought I was doing fine, a little on the thin side. A friend though was concerned for me and urged me to eat some milk products, and WOW! Suddenly I had energy I didn't even know I was lacking. I realized that I was weakened by the diet, and the milk products brought a lot of strength back into my body. I've never tried veganism after that, and I felt from that day on that it's not healthy for anyone, despite all the hype about it.
Veganism is not a healthy nutrition but an ideology.
a healthy body is well stocked in calcium = good brain matter/tight skin / strong bones/ healthy muscle...oxalates (oxalic acid) in plants loves to bind with calcium in the intestines, and when the oxalates are passed out the system it takes your much needed calcium with it, thats why when you are old your bones are brittle, skin loose, hair falling out and all your joints are inflammed...all those with GOUT just for one week before you put a plant in your mouth google it make sure it is oxalate free, after a week your gout will be gone (or going ) even the most sceptic among you can give it a week surely

I am a 75-year-old male and yes I cured my ulcerative colitis by going carnivore. It doesn't happen instantly but give it 60 to 90 days and it will be gone or greatly improved my case was so severe it took about 6 to 8 months before it was totally gone my doctor was angry with me and dropped me as a patient because I refused to take his medication - that was 12 years ago and I have not had a problem. The only thing that I have changed - I have increased good healthy fats and decreased Protein. About 70% fat and 30% protein. Also, my gout which I have suffered from since I was in my mid-30s is not better it's totally gone, That didn't happen until I change the ratio of fat to protein.
The reason your doctor was mad at you was because you cut off his kickbacks from Big Pharma. A healthy patient doesn't bring in the bucks.
I was dropped by a rheumatologist and escorted out of her office when I did that. I had the worst reactions to every medication she gave me and she finally said we'd wait 6 weeks before we tried a new med. During that time, a guy I know who also had lupus said that in Europe they treat lupus by removing wheat and soy, so I tried that and my lupus symptoms improved better than any of the meds. I didn't realize the reaction I was going to get when I said that was what I was doing. I told the bored student nurse and she said "hang on a second" and ditched me. And my doctor, who was a hefty gal, literally ran into the room. Then she had me repeat the story, and said "Well, I guess you don't need me then," and had me escorted out, which was unnerving. I wasn't sure what I did wrong then, but I know now. I could have singlehandedly ended her practice, one patient at a time. Fast forward 15 years and I went from no gluten, no soy, to low carb, to zero carb and my joint pain is gone, fatigue gone, skin is better, cholesterol and A1c normal and I feel better than I did in my teens.
Ironically I’m reading this today my gut and esophageal area is burning and I think I’ve been putting off what I think is ulcerative colitis. Four years ago at an EGD I was told I was in beginning heartburn. May I ask you quickly and hopefully you’ll see this I understand the carnivore part but exactly what good fats are there beyond avocado and obviously I’m not gonna drink healthy cooking oil. Started "dirty-Keto" June 2021 at 230# and got myself down to 166.8# (as of this morning). But I sure could have saved myself a lot of angst had I discovered your channel sooner. Counted carbs trying to stay under 20-net but then another MD says no, stay under 20-consumed. Either way, recording every bite of food to the gram, teaspoon, ounce, etc. on an app is a huge pain in the rear. Heck, I raise my own chickens (have 36 young hens right now) and my large freezer is full of venison I harvest and process myself every year, plus whatever beef we purchase...it's full! Carnivore is what I need to be doing, I see and understand that now. After hearing you talk about saving ALL the bones for bone broth, it makes me ill to think about the well over 100# of venison carcass bones I discarded just this last season. Another way to get the organ meats is to ask a butcher to blend them into your ground meats. Whole Foods in Oklahoma and probably Texas carries a brand called Force of Nature and they sell ruminant meats in an “ancestral blend” in the frozen section. It’s pricier there but it may be an option.

Worked for a casual dining restaurant. Just about everything that comes off the grill is brushed with butter flavored vegetable oil usually during cooking to keep it from sticking and after for eye appeal.
Steaks, seafood, grilled vegetables.

One thing I like about Berry, he keeps his political views to himself and separate from this channel. People watch him for health and nutrition information, and that's exactly what he delivers. He doesn't even dog-whistle one way or the other, he stays neutral.
I appreciate that too. Though he does talk about our "ancestors" from 50, or 100,000 years ago as if we evolved. That makes him lose a little credibility.
Ken Jackson If you’re turned off by the theory of evolution, how do you reconcile Dr. Berry’s scientific, evidence-based approach? It seems odd to accept some kinds of science-based evidence but reject other kinds. In fact, some of Dr. B’s and other low-carb nutritional advice are based heavily on human fossil records; if you think that’s fake, why believe any of his advice? (Not deriding creationism itself, but rather the refusal of evolution; I don’t find creationism and evolution mutually-exclusive, since one is magic faith and the other is based on observable data.)
@@commonground8412: _"... evolution, how do you reconcile Dr. Berry’s scientific, evidence-based approach?"_
Microbe-to-man evolution has no connection to a _"scientific, evidence-based approach"._ The actual science that Dr. Berry cites is based in studies done with _modern man,_ not some mythical cave man.
*Matthew:* _"It seems odd to accept some kinds of science-based evidence but reject other kinds."_
I only reject fake science, like microbe-to-man evolution. Of course when you think of "evolution" you've probably been duped into thinking about speciation. But that's a different process, based on genetic degradation.
If man had really evolved from a microbe, new proteins, new molecular machines, new organs and new systems would have had to develop.
It wasn't a bad hypothesis back in the 19th century, long before modern science uncovered DNA or any molecular machinery. But errors (mutations) don't accumulate to form the *complex, hierarchical, interdependent* systems that proliferate through life. Life was clearly designed. The revelations of science confirm it.
@@commonground8412 Save your breath. He'll 'copy and paste' you into oblivion with the latest "science" he's collected. Even if you manage to whittle down his arguments with real science, he'll eventually bust out his "god did it" card.
@@commonground8412 Mr. Jackson didn't say he doesn't believe in science! Don't be "that guy", it's so annoying! And by the way, people who don't believe that we-humans- evolved from CRITTERS, doesn't mean we don't believe in evolution, everything evolves! You don't think science is pretty magical, I do, it's awesome, like AWESOME in it's true meaning, you know, something that's SO amazing that you're awe struck? Don't be so close minded- it is so boring and typical. You are a negative person. To believe in something that you can't see is a blessing! Where was science when my grandbaby was supposed to die when when he was 7months old, but he didn't- he lived until he was almost 11years old. Caleb was a miracle that we could SEE with our eyes and scientists couldn't help him at all, but he looked at us with so much understanding and wisdom it would literally take away your breath, & when he smiled in the midst of so much pain- it was like nothing you could ever explain. Caleb smiles, changed the lives of people that got to be near him, he could reach out with his tiny little left hand and touch your hand or your face and make strangers feel something like a miracle! He was beautiful, he was an angel in the truest form of what an angel is. He was a gift from God, not science. He smiled into your soul right up until the moment he took his last breath, when God took back our little gift, to be with Jesus. Now he's gone, but he's not gone, an angel is what he is. And when my time is over, it's Caleb I'll see! And I won't be saying, "Oh, thank you science" I'll be saying, Oh thank you God ❤. You need to think a little bigger, 😪 think about Caleb's smiles.
Been doing carnivore for 3 weeks now. Incredible results. I run almost every day, and ride my bike to work. Tons of energy. I’m sure I’m doing some things wrong, but I feel pretty amazing. I tried losing weight, and I was running 40+ miles a week, and no progress. I’m running about 20 now, and I look like I’m in ridiculous shape. I’m going to keep this up, and it into a Carnivore Lifestyle
Awesome! It is a way of eating, of life. You can do it.
Do you eat fruit or strictly meat ? Didn't catch in the video about fruit 😂
@@Dublincarnivore-G91 Carnivore is no fruit. Just products that comes from animals.
@@frojd1990 true yeah just sussing things work for me , day 8 strict bear here

So happy for you, may the rest of your young life bloom into happiness ♥️✨✨🙏
Thanks Dr Berry. Hope this works.
Light bulb just went on! This is why on the days when I eat eggs I have better results and feel better. I've always just counted my eggs as protein and not fat. Sometimes I will go days without having any eggs and is why I'm not seeing the scale move. 💡 Same when I don't have bacon for a few days. Thanks Dr Berry! 🥩🧈🥓🥚
The problem with honey is not that it's "bee vomit", which isn't an accurate assessment of honey from a biological standpoint (no offence to the human doctor but he's no entomologist), it's that it's actually a plant material. Bees gather nectar from plants, dehydrate it and break it down using an enzyme to convert it into sucrose and fructose. There is almost no bee in honey unless there's a modest residue of the enzyme. In any case, honey is essentially as carnivore as a human (an animal) gathers grain and makes bread out of it. Sure it came from an animal but there's nothing animal in it unless by some accident (insects, skin flakes, fingernail etc. ).
Good point..... Top of it's evil is it's pure Sugar.... Poison ❗
Smart. Thank you
bees extract nectar from blooming plants......they store it in their stomach's.......then, regurgitate it [vomit it]............my daughter & her husband are bee keepers ......and, sell their honey.....
@@beamills9205 A common misconception even among beekeepers, apparently. Bees have a crop and a stomach. Bees can't actually vomit because above their stomach is a one way valve between their crop and their stomach, called the proventriculus. Bees bring the nectar up from their crop where it is dehydrated. No digestion or digestive enzymes are in the crop as it's just a storage area for nectar. Let your daughter know. She'll be intrigued I'm sure.
Raw meats are fine except pork. Trichinella spiralis, toxoplasmosis, are the risk of raw pork. Tapeworm risk for beef, fish, lamb, pork. So meats need cooked to the point of killing parasites. Or marinate the meat to kill off them. Also most carnivores can produce their own vitamin C without intake. Our dogs and cats can make their own vitamin C in bodies. BTW I am licensed physician also.
I like the way this doctor talks about carnivore. As with anything we do, there is an adjustment period for the body to react to carnivore. Carnivore is beautiful in that the body easily adjusts and reacts to the diet because we were engineered to subsist on proteins without any ill affects. No allergies, no inflammation, etc. I've been on a carnivore diet for about 3 months, and I'm 69 years old. I'm loosing body fat and increasing muscle mass, all the while eating as much meat as I want, definitely comfortably stuffed. The only issue I'm having is with my doctors at the VA. Every single one has admonished me for going carnivore. I wish they would watch Dr. Berry, his channel has helped me get my diabetes under control.
A patient healed is a patient lost 🤷♀️.
I started mine 3 days ago after having gastrointestinal issues and eating disorders because of it for years, I hope this works for me and people like you give me hope, Im soo happy for you and I hope everything keeps going well 🥰
There is little research about long term effects of it.
Doctors aren't going to get info from youtube. They get it from other doctors that do research.
No shit, I lost like 30 lbs and told my VA doctor cause I wanted to check my levels. He asked me what my secret was and I told him I got on a Carnivorish diet. He told me to stay away from that and go on a Mediterranean diet or some crap like that. I told him this is the only way I can sustain my diet because of how much I can eat and needles to say I never spoke to him again
@@never2be07 You can do a low carb Mediterranean diet. It is mostly things like chicken, olive oil, vegetables, etc.
I've lost a little over 30 pounds now. I eat a low carb diet Sunday - Friday, but I mostly eat lean meat like chicken. Saturday I eat what I want. I don't care about ketosis. Low carb, low fat, high protein lead to less cravings and calories.
LOL I'm 69 and get my healthcare from the VA also. I've been on the carnivore diet for most of the last 5 years. I am in perfect health and at my last annual checkup my doctor told me I was the healthiest veteran at our clinic! He was amazed at my lab results and asked me about my exercise habits and diet. I didn't make the mistake that a lot of people make and tell him I eat carnivore. I just told him I eat healthy, and didn't have to hear any B.S. from him.
Great video. Thank you so much Sir!!!
I went from 314 to 275 from January to April of this year, then plateaued. I moved to another country where it's mostly whole foods, lots of rice and beans, and dropped to 265 and plateaued again. Me and the wife are now about to start carnivore and we are so excited to be losing the weight and feel good. I've never been able to maintain below 245 (22% body fat, 6'2") in my adult life, even when bodybuilding/powerlifting. I'm hoping to get into the 210-220lbs region, as with proper exercise I would be well below 15% body fat i think.
rice and beans is the worst garbage you can put in your body.
@@MikeR65 Significantly better than McDonald's. While it has a lot of empty carbs, it's also got a lot of protein, all the BCAAs you need for supporting your body, and good fats as well. Our finances haven't worked out, and still haven't been able to do carnivore, but now down to 245 lbs, another 20lbs in the last 4 months, with minimal loss of muscle mass, and my health has SIGNIFICANTLY improved. I absolutely still believe the carnivore diet is better, but anything is better than fast food garbage.
Dr. Berry you are the most important thing that has ever happened to my wife and I. I have lost 110# and my wife 47# in the last 9 months and we both either down to our optimal weight or very close to it and it's ALL BECAUSE OF YOU !
