I would like to add that a Harvard study showed NO more or less chance of major bleeding events taking aspirin. Also, according to the same study, shows promising evidence that a decreased chance of cancers when talking aspirin daily. My father who is 88 (with diabetes most of his adult life) is still alive - no cancer, no heart attack, very little health problems his whole life. Took a baby aspirin daily.

Thanks doc. I’ve started questioning everything, especially government health advice! After reading "Health and Beauty Mastery", I completely changed my approach. This book reveals so many shocking truths about the health industry!
Aspirin is good, but not an all-saver. It does not unclog arteries, but it keeps blood more fluid so it can flow through the arteries more easily. That also means that people that have atherosclerosis (like myself) have merit using aspirin daily so those partially clogged arteries can carry more bloodflow, than under non-medicated instances. In fact it has been part of my medication suite since 2007 when I had my first heart attack. IT IS NOT A WONDER CURE AND IT DOES NOT IN ITSELF PREVENT CLOGGING, LET ALONE UNCLOGGING! The clogging is based on a completely different mechanism and is much more complicated than simply molecules coming out of solution and sticking to the artery wall!

@@PrevMedHealthI had a heart attack in 2014, I was chain a smoker when one night a burning sensation in the center of my chest started and didn't go away and started having difficulty breathing so I run to the local hospital just across our residence and was taken to the ICU. Been prescribed maintenance medicine since then but lately I stopped them except Clopidogrel 75mg. Before I had a heart attack my previous doctor recommended angioplasty which didn't happen because it was so expensive here in my country. I had occasional chest pains before which worried me but has stopped lately. Would it be good if I add baby aspirin to my Clopidogrel 75?

Dear Dr. Ford. I am a (Dutch) retired B-747 captain. Appr. some 25 years ago during my annual medical check the examining medical docor advised me to use 100mg of aspirin every day mainly because of the fact that I was doing longhaul flights. That means a lot of sitting. To avoid clogging of the arteries I started doing this. At this moment I am 72 years of age and I stil use, every day, this little medicin and I am lucky to be in very good health. Every day I jump on my racingbike and easily ride 60-80 miles. Ofcourse other factors are contributing to health but I am convinced that this little pill did and does its work. Thank you for this interesting and re-assuring video. Greeting from The Netherlands!

You sound marvelously fit. Thank you for sharing. I had an TIA a few months ago and have been put on aspirin and have been pondering whether it’s good or not. You’ve convinced me.
I'm near 72 never had a heart attack even though I had two stents placed in the widowmaker artery of heart when I was 56 years old. I couldn't afford the high price of blood thinners on a long term basis. After using them the first two months after the stents the cardiologist told me stop the thinners and take one whole adult aspirin 325 grain once daily. I've done so for 16 years now and no harmful affect. Still heart attack and stroke free. No ulcers, no brain bleeding, no internal bleeding. I intend to keep right on doing it.
If you are prescribed Eliquis and have commercial prescription insurance, go to their website. They have a program where you just pay $10 per month, which was much cheaper than my prescription insurance through my health plan. Also, I was taking metoprolol, and it was giving me AFib.
I had a heart attack in 09 had four stents put in and started taking baby aspirin.. in 2017 I had a stroke so now I take blood thinners and baby aspirin across my fingers..
@@lanetteroth384 I think I'm fortunate that at the same time I took aspirin I also took Statins to keep blood fats low. Still take them and blood is healthy. Strokes just aren't in my family tree. I just seen my Cardiologist last week and all is well. No medication change. Still use only the whole aspirin to keep my blood thin. My blood pressure is very good as well. I walk two miles or more a day most all days. Have for twenty five years as well. I'm doing good at 72 so far
One issue is one must read the label on the product. If there is anything other then aspirin do not take it. One 81 mg supposed baby aspirin I looked at had about a dozen ingredients. Every one of which could be considered harmful. I took it to the pharmacist at that Costco and went over the ingredients with him to look them all up. He was surprised and shocked afterwards and I asked him why they were selling it. I went back a few months later, that product was gone, and the only 81 mg baby aspirin was now a healthy product at least going by the label. It taught me an important lesson. Always read the label.
@@eugeniebreida1583 Sounds like a winner to me in this world of collusion and vested interest conflicts. These days I take a folding pocket magnifying lens for the sometimes almost microscopic print on the packaging. Looking up ingredients only takes a moment with my cell phone. These days its impossible for me to trust what's on the packaging for either medicine or food. I know of too many exceptions for the labelling laws.
TY. I learnt a lot today. At 53, I went down because of Plaque. One night, my foot went numb and it really started to hurt. After many ski injuries, I thought it was just an old accidents acting up. I took aspirin and went to bed. 12 hours later, I was in an ambulance. The pain was not the normal leg pain from previous ski injuries, and I was having a heart attack too. After the 10 days in hospital, it took 5 months to learn to walk correctly, and spontaneous small sharp pain will follow me for life now. DEPRESSION is a huge issue. Will I ever be able to ski again or hike? Work? My company was just closed. Life is hard, but Im still alive. The pain is much less now, and Im able to lift heavy objects again. I really appreciate this discourse, it help explain many things. Like Stoke vs Heart Attack. Aspirin. My artery was punctured 35 years ago in an accident. It took 35 years for the plague to build up, and out of the blue, the past came back, reminding me that I will not live forever. Now, I actually think about dying and how short life is. Good luck.

Great work, man! Keep spreading awareness! Science-backed facts are so rare these days, and no flashy TikTok "expert" can replace real knowledge. Complete removal of plaque and calcium deposits isn’t possible, and full reversal is highly unlikely. If you’re not doing cardio every other day, following a Mediterranean diet, and avoiding ultra-processed foods, you're only speeding up the DEATH-clock. Just look at life expectancy in the U.S. (79 years) compared to places like Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Italy, Spain, Australia, and the Nordic countries like Iceland, Norway, and Sweden. The difference says it all!

I’m 46 and tried the aspirin for a few months and ended up with a significant upper GI bleed, and ended up in hospital so for others considering aspirin, just be aware of the potential risks. This could also lead to a haemorrhagic stroke. I have a fear of having a stroke in particular, so I’ve very recently changed my diet in line with inflammatory reduction etc.
I have taken two aspirin every morning for thirty years. I had migraine headaches appear often before this and got very sick of it. I decided to just take the two aspirin every day since. I have not had a migraine headache ever again. I do from time to time get the aura but it goes away quickly, and there is no headache. Aspirin is a blessing.
Same man. Had migraine since childhood , with pre warning aura that always came before my full blown migraine. Now when the aura starts vibrating across my vision , same shape , both eyes. I take aspirin straight away. And its the only thing I have tried that seems to halt the onset of that terrible disabling migraine. Just self trial and error. Still get the aura warning at times so now I know what I have to do. God bless and take care.
I too had these symptons. Turned out I was heading for a haemorrhagic stroke (a bleed). Taking asprin long term would have increased the bleed & the effect of the stroke. My advice just don't take the advice of UA-cam. See your doctor. Let's also consider that Asprin does have side effects with long term use.

I eat mostly healthy but recently went to have CAC done and I scored 416 . I was very scared and thought I could have a heart attack or stroke any minute . I was crying and wondered why since I am physically active never smoke , no alcohol . I was angry and sad . I’m glad I found your videos , you gave me hope . I am going for stress test per my doc’s order. I’ll ask for CIMT if possible. I have high family history of CVD

Always had a diet high in fats and carbs but also been very physically active and my pressure rose commensurate with diminished physical activity. Due to pain from abused tendons I started aspirin and my pressure leveled off at acceptable rate. Never smoked, stopped alcohol because it costs too much, proper weight and live in a 5 story house. Now busily retired and hope to reach the 100+ year span common to some of my ancestors. Covid proved we can't trust all the 'science' and we're wandering through a dark dense forest of bad information and scary monsters. Now to figure out how to live with less coffee. Thanx doc.
Every video and article talks about aspirin for the prevention of heart attack and stroke. I started taking aspirin back about 12 or 15 years ago when there were announcements in the media that aspirin also reduced the risk of certain cancers....colon cancer being one of them. I had already, starting at 39, been found to make pre-cancerous polyps. Since I started taking aspirin daily, I have not produced a single polyp. This is why I continue to take it. To me, the risks are worth taking the aspirin for cancer prevention.

Five years ago, I read a German study on Motherwort (a calmative in the mint family) for Afib, and after two weeks, it worked for me. The study mentioned 28 days. I keep a bottle at all times. Aspirin is a chelator, but I also use aged garlic and EDTA. It is my understanding that plaque is not just made up of one thing but rather calcium, Fibrin and fluids. EDTA for Calcium, Lumbrokinase/Nattokinase for the dissolving of fibrin. Since reading about aged black garlic, that is now a daily for me. I don't care if it comes out of my pores and I smell like Italian food. 😂😁
Your post is very unclear. Questions: 1. "after two weeks" of what? Reading a study? 2. "it worked for me", what worked, how did it work, what did it do? 3. "I keep a bottle at all times", why? in case of what? 4. "Aspirin is a chelator", ok, why do you say that? Do you take it? Do you avoid it?

A very useful expose, I would add that while AFIB creates blood clots , these not only travel to block blood to the brain resulting in a stroke but can also stop blood supply to the lungs resulting in deadly pulmonary embolism. I am now 93 and narrowly survived 2 embolisms 12 and10 years ago. i was diagnosed with AF after the first one, and was put on warfarin which caused ongoing nose bleeds, when my doctor put me on baby aspirin although i knew it would be only half as efficient as warfarin (25% vs 50%) . Within a year ,I had my second pulmonary embolism when I was lifted unconscious from the floor and sent directly to ER who saved my life. I could not risk another embolism or stroke and have only used a very expensive NOAC (Pradaxa) since then , without bleeding or other problems. ( Pradaxa since then)

Great video. My cardiologist has never mentioned the words "atrial fibrillation" before. The last time I took myself to the emerg room because my heart was beating wrong, they all scratched their heads and sent me home because a chest extray showed no clots and two EKG's looked ok. Tests confirmed the AFIB, so I am careful. No overheating here in Arizona heat.
Funny this video popped up, as I have JUST MADE an appointment for Wednesday to discuss my smart watch notifications of AFIB! I heard fish oil can cause (or aggravate) AFIB, so I stopped immediately. I wish you had your AFIB videos now so I had some additional information and questions to ask. Of course I looked on Dr Google, but I have zero of the health concerns. I don’t eat added sugar, alcohol or ultra processed foods. Exercise daily. I’m trying to change from sleeping on my left side and increasing my water intake significantly. I’m so nervous about my appointment as this is my first real health issue and I’m all over the place! I’m 77, 118 pounds zero meds. I learned SO MUCH with this video and really appreciate all your hard work in presenting these details in a manner we can understand!

UPDATE; I went to the doctor. EKG was fine. My blood pressure was up, but at the end of the visit it was back down to normal. I wore a Holter monitor for 30 days. Everything was fine from that. So for now we’re just waiting and watching. I feel wonderful and I’m back to my old self. Quite the scare, though,
I had heart flutters for 35 years and couldn't get a doctor to figure it out. It was a daily thing, usually multiple times. One night I had heart racing issue that subsided thru the 5 second breathing practice, then then I had the flutters. This time they were persistent. 2 ambulances showed up. A running ECG left them in awe. They subsided by within an hr and I went home. I attributed this event to coffee from Tim's at 4pm and working til 7pm. I have previous MIs. I stopped drinking coffee period. Flutters have stopped. 👍
At 57 with long time athletic hobbies (climbing cycling time trials, running, golfing)had here & there heart episodes. But got a big scare just like you described in the video: at night time 150 irregular heartbeat, entire chest exploding. Next day my doc gave me a week worth of Rx Eliquis which helped at once. Two months later I now have Paroxysmal Atrial Fibrillation every week always at night. Try to manage stress, not overexercise, diet (always!), got rid of any caffeine. Please do more informative videos like this one. Healthy athletic people are just apparently as vulnerable to AtriFib as the overweight diabetics. 🙏
I've been taking it for years, no problems with bleeding, or any others. So, I will keep doing it. I'm 68, and have had thyroid disease for years as well, which is a known risk factor for CVD. The males in my family have exhibited plaque build up and/or ischemic episodes. Thank you doc for this great video and making me feel more comfortable about taking my aspirin. Keep up the good work! Aspirin in Australia only costs less than a dollar for a full pack of 24!! So cheap its amazing and I take 1/2 a disprin a day and I can ho outside and shovel sand most of the day , push myself until I'm exhausted and yet my heart handles it well at 64 years old!!

Aspirin, its anti inflammatory properties also reduces micro inflammation of the coronary arteries besides blood thinning and reducing platelets clumping. Always take with food.
The time is important as well, my Cardiologist said to take it at 7 pm because most heart problems occur at night (12 to 4 am) it has to do with the protein levels that thicken the blood.
Can you take aspirin with Xarelto? 20mg for me since having clots removed from my legs almost four years ago. I was told I have “sticky blood.” I’ve been taking ginger and cayenne capsules and turmeric. K2 7 for calcium deposits in my arteries. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

There's a reason our life expectancy has gone up so much. It's the modern medicine that we have access to and I'm very grateful for it all. As for the tests, my husband passed his ECG and his stress test. But a heart ct scan showed that his arteries were blocked and after an angiogram he needed bypass surgery. He had 3 more weeks, the surgeon said. I appreciate your balanced and honest approach. Modern medicine is a wonderful thing!!! Had AFIB three years ago. Apple Watch said I had it at 2:00 am. Checked into the ER even though I felt fine. 24 days later, had a CABG with ablation to resolve the AFIB. I’m taking Clopidogrel which I believe is a blood thinner with a daily asperin. So far so good!
Hi, I was told by my GP to come off clopidagrel 1 year after my triple cabg operation as he said you don't need to take 2 types of blood thinners..its harmful apparently..you should check with your GP if you are having aspirin aswell
My doctor prescribed mini aspirin for me around 20 years ago, he switched it to clopidogrel about 4 years ago and explained that it has been medically proven to be superior to aspirin. You should not take both.

I would like to add that a Harvard study showed NO more or less chance of major bleeding events taking aspirin.

I buy my aspirin from a compounding pharmacy = TWO ingredients: Aspirin & Micro-cellulose (filler).
I make mine 100 mg.
@@eugeniebreida1583 Sounds like a winner to me in this world of collusion and vested interest conflicts.
These days I take a folding pocket magnifying lens for the sometimes almost microscopic print on the packaging. Looking up ingredients only takes a moment with my cell phone. Good luck.

I too had these symptons. Turned out I was heading for a haemorrhagic stroke (a bleed). Taking asprin long term would have increased the bleed & the effect of the stroke. I’m 51 post menopausal. In past 3 years or so I’ve had an unknown inflammatory body response , all lab work came back negative for any auto immune dse but I have rashes and dermatographia. Then later had hypertension and high cholesterol. I was about 118 lbs then now 130 at 5”4. I was prescribed carvedilol 12.5 2x/day and crestor 10mg/day for almost 3 yrs now .
I take 2 tblsps of apple cider vinegar, in a glass of water. I sip the mixture at night. I am overweight and my blood pressure is normal. During a very extended period (years) of extreme occupational stress I got atrial fib. Doc said I probably wouldn't make it 5 more years so I changed occupations and the atrial fib subsided.

That's amazing you still have a stomach. Aspirin thins the blood differently than Eliquis.

I'm glad for you, but please share precisely how much aspirin you take daily so the rest of us can try it. Thank you.

Questions:
Aged garlic should have no odor, I thought.

Great video. My cardiologist has never mentioned the words "atrial fibrillation" before. The last time I took myself to the emerg room because my heart was beating wrong, they all scratched their heads and sent me home because a chest extray showed no clots and two EKG's looked ok. I was so freaked out that I got my pacemaker checked out, which was also fine. INR was in the sweet spot. No one had answers for me. Eventually it stopped beating wrong, or I got used to it. I don't know if this is my problem but at least I'm armed with the knowledge to ask the right question now. Thank you.

I quit my road racing and years of running, including the Olympic Trials, at age 73 (7 years ago) due to wear and tear on my knees. Within a few months I was suddenly diagnosed with AFIB. I had none of the symptoms I've read about. Only an irregular heartbeats...58, 74, 61, 85, 94, 57 101...and so on. They prescribed me Metoprolol and reluctantly, Eliquis, I've since had a total knee replacement - due to 602 road races - (10K's and up), and also laminectomy with all that pounding. All successful.
Aspirin, its anti inflammatory properties also reduces micro inflammation of the coronary arteries besides blood thinning and reducing platelets clumping. Always take with food.
It also reduces highly important inflammatory processes - do not trust big pharma a 100% !
👍
The time is important as well, my Cardiologist said to take it at 7 pm because most heart problems occur at night (12 to 4 am) it has to do with the protein levels that thicken the blood.
Can you take aspirin with Xarelto? 20mg for me since having clots removed from my legs almost four years ago. I was told I have “sticky blood.” I’ve been taking ginger and cayenne capsules and turmeric. K2 7 for calcium deposits in my arteries. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
Aspirin is 24 hrs
Take consistency same time
Take 2 grams of vitamin C powder, 2 grams of MSM powder, and 2 grams of L-Lysine every day as well. They strengthen your blood vessels and help prevent hemorrhagic strokes.
Yes, please continue with the in-depth discussion ...
@@johnallport9565 thank you very much!
Thank you so much. You’ve answered so many questions for me. I had a TIA a few months ago and have been prescribed daily aspirin. 🌟
Transbordando sabedoria. Perfeito doutor . Agradeço por sua integridade e compromisso com a verdade!!! Deus abençoe 🙏
He now takes an aspirin every day and visits his cardiologist about every 18 months.
Life expectancy is going down not up.
I am so glad you are back to teaching us on your own. I find you explain things in a way I can easily understand.
CoQ10 is also great for your heart. I take garlic, tumeric, salmon oil, CoQ10, K2 45mcg, baby asprin, vitamin C, quercetin, EGCG, melatonin, and a multiple.
How much those supplements cost for a day ?
You might want to consider adding Taurine as well.
No asprin instead taking Silvia root
They are all very good supplements to be taking

I've been taking a baby pill everyday for 27 years....I'm 52 now and will live healthy and strong until I'm 99 ❤
Hi,
I was told by my GP to come off clopidagrel 1 year after my triple cabg operation as he said you don't need to take 2 types of blood thinners..its harmful apparently..you should check with your GP if you are having aspirin aswell
My doctor prescribed mini aspirin for me around 20 years ago, he switched it to clopidogrel about 4 years ago and explained that it has been medically proven to be superior to aspirin. You should not take both.
Thanks for the great video. Your point starting at 16:15 "It's too lucrative now" kind of sums up so much of expensive but not highly effective health care recommendations and practice (routine colonoscopies come to mind..). That's why this type of excellent doctor produced preventative education is worth it's weight in gold!
Thank you!
