The insufficient levels of K2 in a combined "pill" was a concern I had some time ago. I searched around and found a K2 with the right amount to bring the total into an effective range for the combined D3 + K2 combo. I'm glad to hear Dr. Brewer confirm this.

Thanks, I corrected my low D levels with 10,000 IU and now my levels are good. I've been taking 100 mcg of K2 w/ MK7 for about a year and going to increase it to 2000 mcg. I've lost over 40 pounds in the last few months with intermittent fasting. No sugar, carbs or high processed foods and I feel GREAT at 68!

My wife loves Dr Berg and refers to him all the time. To her, he is the single authority. Now because of her I started listening to him also, but thought to balance that with a dose of various other health professionals. I like a consensus of opinions from people who pass the litmus test of education and experience. You pass that test and with that will try to have my wife expand her horizons. I mean the woman won't purchase a vitamin if it doesn't have Bergs name on it or his blessing.

Because of that when I took vit K2 it caused my blood pressure to go up, particularly the bottom number which was always good. Within a few days of stopping vitamin K2 my blood pressure normalized. I don’t fully understand it. I’m just a truck driver, but that was my experience.

Good video. Here are some notes for those who have a "combination bottle" of D3 and K2. Get a bottle of K2, which is usually around 90 - 100 micrograms per pill and supplement the combo pill with some extra K2 so you don't get to high with the D3 (Get you levels checked anyway)
In addition, as the doctor suggested, "pre diabetes" , basically consuming a hi carb, hi sugar diet is responsible for cardiovascular disease. Think of "pre diabetes" and "diabetes" as "pre heart disease".
Moving on, a "healthy diet" is eating a high organic, clean plant based diet, as the nutrient density of phytonutrients is mind blowing in addition to having a high antioxidant capacity - very good. Exercise, even a short walk every day is important, or a row machine is you have problems with walking/running. One more thing, the mind/spirit is also a powerful element, so things like meditation can help with fear, anxiety, despair, etc. All those negative emotions trigger cortisol and can make it chronic, which is very bad. Some medical experts call cortisol "the death hormone" because of the damage it can cause. (It's only needed for short periods of time, but bad when chronically produced).

I have been watching your videos for several years now. I do believe you are the go to guy when it comes to vascular health. I believe good health starts with the vascular system. It plays a part in every cell of the body. Oxygen, and nutrition have to go through the vascular system to get where it needs to go. Eat, and consume only clean substances. Watch out for bodily exposures that can influence health. Keeping our diet, and body composition in check, along with proper sleep, and exercise we can fully achieve all we can. Try to limit exposures to toxins in the air, food and drink. Least not forget to have a complete blood panel every 6-12 months. Always test, and analyze for optimal levels. I take my D3 at bed time, my k2 in the mornings.

I started taking K2 about a year ago, only 60mcg. I was doing it for potential cardiac benefits. Not much change in cholesterol other than HDL a little higher, but I was surprised to see my A1c went from 5.4 down to 5.0 and is still there a year later. I wasn't even thinking of any A1c benefits. I now am taking only 120mcg a day. Maybe I'll consider a higher dose. Am in the process of trying to stop statin I've been on and literally just learned about inhibition of vitamin D synthesis when on statins, so now I know why my vitamin D level is only 47 on 5000 IU a day. Not a single doctor has explained side effects of statins on vitamin D or risks of diabetes and dementia in all these years.

If you are testing only at 47 D3, even when dosing 5000 IU, you should supplement with 400mg of magnesium glycinate. Often low D3 blood levels are caused by low magnesium. I am 69 years old. About a year and half ago I took the calcium score test and got 5600!
Prior to that I thought I was healthy because I got into nutrition and exercise
(mainly cycling and some strength training) about ten years ago. Doctors tell me it may be mostly hereditary.
After several more tests it was determined I needed a quadruple bypass and valve replacement.
I had all that done, and now 16 months later I learned that one of the bypass graphs are 100% closed.
I will be getting a stent in just a few days.
I am determined to reverse as much of this damage as possible with lifestyle changes and
supplements. I will be watching your channel along with as much research as I can.
I just fully retired and will be focusing much more of my time on this. I had started
taking K2 and D3 just before my surgery and stopped because the K2 would interfere with the blood thinners
I had to be on during recovery. Now, I will be put back on some anticoagulant during recovery (healing)
of the stent. Could you talk a bit about medications and particularly medications and supplement interference?

@@journeylvr Sorry, I should have specified. I am referring to MK7. That's the one I take. I also take Vitamin D3 with it, but they are separate bottles, not combination pills. My story is that some years ago, my lower back was killing me. After months of it. I finally went to the doctor. The problem was that I had bone build-up on my facet joints in my lower back and the extra bone was pressing into my nerve roots (that was my diagnosis). There were only two remedies: Grind off the extra bone (but he said it would just grow back), or kill the nerve (which could result in dragging one leg),,,, NO THANKS!
It was so painful all the time, I was miserable. I went to chiropractors and massage therapists, for several years trying to get relief, but it was a waste of time and money for my particular situation. One day I found a chiropractor on youtube named Eric Berg. I only found him because I was still searching Chiropractor's techniques, to see if a chiropractor in my town could possibly copy the particular technique to help me. But Dr. Berg was talking about taking Vitamin K2 ( the MK7) and Vitamin D3 ( together) to help the condition that sounded like mine. I thought, well, why not; I've tried everything else. After 5 months of taking both, in the quantities Dr. Beg suggested (which I looked up first to make sure the doses were safe, and they were), I noticed some improvement. Each month after I got better and better. I was so amazed that it was actually working, that I started following his diet advise of lowering carbs as well. Within about 8 or 9 months I was 100% pain free. I had suffered with that lower back pain for at least three years before discovering what healed me. I am so grateful!

No there isn't. The information is either true or false & has implications based on the context... which you can interpret based on your knowledge of the context. Who it comes from is totally irrelevant, only how much truthful context they're making you aware of.
Most doctors are 10+ years out of date on the science, especially when it comes to diet & gut microbiome... they're basically all useless & at best no better than a random health/diet youtuber. They either recommend dogma from 10+ years ago (doesn't work) or the thing that's popular & seems to work but we don't really know the long term consequences of... like youtubers.

1 . K2-MK7 has half-life of 3days(how long stays in body) while K2-MK4 has only half life of 3-4 h. Thats makes difference when you take 300mcg per day for a month, you can calculate how much body will be loaded .
2 . K2 is very unstable when combined with other things especially D3. There was Norwegean study that over half of the K2 sold did not have specified qantity or non K2 at all. Something to take a look is the new k2 deltavital Norwegean how is produced to increase stability. Not sure if you have them in US as we have it here in Europe.

My doc chose this pill and it is expensive. More D not good, but how about 5 times as much K2? Nothing said about that. This is being prescribed because of dysbiosis and fat malabsorption, which will affect the fat soluble vitamins. Maybe that changes the rules? You are missing the point. Dr Brewer states taking them separately is due to the fact that to get your daily dose of K2 you would need to take x4 of the dose in a combined pill. That also means that the vit D2 is also 4 x which is way too much. Hence doing separately allows you to take 4x K2 and just the 1x dose of D3. When to take is a different matter altogether.

Just a comment on skin cancer. I did a dna test and it showed me as 98% Irish, Scot and Welsh. I tan really dark. At 70 I’m using efudex to get rid of the numerous solar keratosis that regularly pop up. Last November I began a carnivore diet and eat only animal products. While I’ve always had a high tolerance for sunshine, I find that it has increased dramatically. A little research has shown that this is being reported often by those on a carnivore diet. Since you appear susceptible to skin cancers, I just wonder if you would find it worthwhile to research this apparent benefit and how it comes about?

Best educational video on Vit-D & K2 I've seen & I've been watching this topic for two yr's.
I had low D 16.6 st time tested years back but I stayed out of sun for having a spot removed on my forehead 2yrs prior. I was on 4000ui up to this Dec 2924 changed to 2000ui. What I want to mention my levels of D went up equaling my time in the sun. I'm now walking 4 miles 1h:15m mid day. My Vit-D level reach 89.6. It'll be interesting to see level next with a 1/2 drop in vitamin amount. It seems mid day walking has help improve levels best.
So with my D 2000ui level, does amount of K2 change or is that level based by itself? I do eat beef & eggs almost daily. So how much food = K2 levels would be nice to know. I'm a food 1st then supplements if I fall short.
I was wondering if there is an amount of calcification people have as they age & how much Vit-D can add to that if on higher doses. Any studies done on that?
Hope this helps your future videos.

I take my d3 and k2 seperate. When my calcium gets low, i thirst for it. Ive always had a thing for calcium. It started in highschool in wrestling when we were starving to make a certain weight. Our coaches told us not to drink milk because it stays in our intestines too long and we wont make weight. I used to get a certain thirst, a calcium thirst. When wresting was over, i would chug milk, like a half gallon at a time. I hardly drink milk these days and if i dont take my calcium supplement, i get the same calcium thirst. Il end up drinking milk. I take vitamin k2, vitamin d3 and my calcium boron zinc pill. Sometimes its calcium boron magnesium pill. It makes me not have that calcium thirst. I feel like this doesnt happen as much to other people, the calcium thirst. Anyway, i hope my arteries are ok. Guess il find out in 40 more years lol. I dont really do blood work and doctors but if i dont take my supplements im thirsty for calcium. I workout a lot. I should make it a ways down the road Id assume.

Great video. I always been taking all my supplements separate for years. I did not know until today about doses for K2. You just read the label and pop the one capsule it recommends. So now I will take 240 Mcg of K2-MK-7 and at least 2000 units of D3 per day. With my almost healthy lifestyle, 95% home cooked organic meals, I am getting higher total levels of K2 & D3. I'm 61, 6'3' 248, still have the covid belly, working on it, thin everywhere else, people guess me 15 years younger than my age. Keep the great videos coming Dr. Brewer as I have learned over the year's most doctors never mention supplements like my friend went on a statin and the Doc never told him to start taking Coq10.

Regarding K2, by lowering carbs and eating other foods, K2 consumption increases. So, if you don't want to take another pill, this is another reason to cut carbs. My best sources include eggs (67-190 mcg depending on size and type), cheese and occasionally sauerkraut. Also, chicken: "If you’re not a fan of organ meats like liver... With 10 mcg per 100-gram serving, chicken has 5 to 10 times the vitamin K2 content of beef or pork."

The correct dosage of D3 depends on whether you are Vitamin D resistant (VDR) or not. Although clinically there exists resistance to the absorption of Vitamin D at the cellular level in people that have VDR there is still no medically defined process that brings this about or is at present medically recognised as bringing this about. However it is readily accepted that, as Dr Brewer has pointed out, that being over weight and having a poor diet can initiate this VDR condition. Also as people age they become more susceptible to becoming VDR. The dosages that Dr Brewer refers to are quite adequate if you are "normal" and do not already suffer from VDR. Unfortunately a normal blood test where the Vitamin D levels in the blood are measured are simply misleading or only give a rough guide to whether you are VDR. This is because the Vit D level measured in the blood only measures the "inactive" form of Vitamin D. At the cellular level it is the active form of Vitamin D that is the most important. The only way to measure the correct dosage that a person's needs is to measure the dosage given by tablet form and then to measure by a blood test the level of Parathyroid Hormone (PTH) that is present in the blood stream. The PTH level is inversely proportional to the absorption of the active form of Vit D at the cellular level. This is the basis of the Dr Coimbra Protocol and practitioners of the Coimbra Protocol use this technique to treat and put into remission diseases such as MS, Auto Immune Hepatitis, Psoriasis and other auto immune diseases by using very high dosages of Vit D such as 16000, 20000 IU and higher daily which would be detrimental, as Dr Brewer points out, if you didn't suffer from these diseases. There are many papers on VDR but it is still not clinically recognised in the "West" as the treatment is effectively so cheap and there is no money in it for Pharma companies. Research has now shown that people with low Vit D levels or in the worse case VDR would have been protected effectively against Covid with Vit D supplementation and could have avoided bad vaccine side effects!!!
