The insufficient levels of K2 in a combined "pill" was a concern I had some time ago. I searched around and found a K2 with the right amount to bring the total into an effective range for the combined D3 + K2 combo. I'm glad to hear Dr. Brewer confirm this.

I started taking K2 about a year ago, only 60mcg. I was doing it for potential cardiac benefits. Not much change in cholesterol other than HDL a little higher, but I was surprised to see my A1c went from 5.4 down to 5.0 and is still there a year later. I wasn't even thinking of any A1c benefits. I now am taking only 120mcg a day. Maybe I'll consider a higher dose. Am in the process of trying to stop statin I've been on and literally just learned about inhibition of vitamin D synthesis when on statins, so now I know why my vitamin D level is only 47 on 5000 IU a day. Not a single doctor has explained side effects of statins on vitamin D or risks of diabetes and dementia in all these years.

Great video once again. Two useful fact my 5cents.
1 . K2-MK7 has half-life of 3days(how long stays in body) while K2-MK4 has only half life of 3-4 h. Thats makes difference when you take 300mcg per day for a month, you can calculate how much body will be loaded .
2 . K2 is very unstable when combined with other things especially D3. There was Norwegean study that over half of the K2 sold did not have specified qantity or non K2 at all. Something to take a look is the new k2 deltavital Norwegean how is produced to increase stability. Not sure if you have them in US as we have it here in Europe.

Just a comment on skin cancer. I did a dna test and it showed me as 98% Irish, Scot and Welsh. I tan really dark. At 70 I’m using efudex to get rid of the numerous solar keratosis that regularly pop up. Last November I began a carnivore diet and eat only animal products. While I’ve always had a high tolerance for sunshine, I find that it has increased dramatically. A little research has shown that this is being reported often by those on a carnivore diet. Since you appear susceptible to skin cancers, I just wonder if you would find it worthwhile to research this apparent benefit and how it comes about?

Great video Doc 👌 and spot on about high D levels in the blood causing kidney injury. A good friend of mine has very high serum D levels has resulted in kidney stones and very high BP.
He noticed that even going out in direct sunlight causes him noticeable distress. He is now being treated and has it mostly under control which is great but the high underlying BP (being medicated for) is a cause for slight concern as the underlying problem is still in the background (high serum D levels)

Great video. I always been taking all my supplements separate for years. I did not know until today about doses for K2. You just read the label and pop the one capsule it recommends. So now I will take 240 Mcg of K2-MK-7 and at least 2000 units of D3 per day. With my almost healthy lifestyle, 95% home cooked organic meals, I am getting higher total levels of K2 & D3. I'm 61, 6'3' 248, still have the covid belly, working on it, thin everywhere else, people guess me 15 years younger than my age. QUESTION: If a person is in their 60s, female and had breast cancer, was recommended 2000 IU of D3 a day and 1200mg of Ca per day to avoid osteoporosis………… The question is….. since D3 is stored in fat, and being very thin now since anastrazole caused high pre-diabetes (because strips body of estrogen) regardless of a healthy diet and exercise, with a very low body fat level where does the body store the D3 if the person has lost most of their fat? Do we need to take extra D3 since we don’t have that much fat for storage? What about other fat soluble vitamins……. Less fat would be less fat soluble vitamins stored? How does this affect use of these vitamins if someone is very thin?❤

The thing i will add coming from my G/P (doctor) One thing that is not mentioned is depletion of vitamin d3 + k2 via environmental stress the air we breathe (in door / outdoor) and chemicals we use everyday like deodorant and shampoos. Also work stress can deplete vitamin d3, k1 and other vitamins in the body especially magnesium. Another thing that is not mentioned is how to take Vitamin d3 and k2. Vitamin D3 is fat soluable and should be take with some sort of fat. I take my d3 with in a carrier oil solution either coconut or oilive oil. I also take it with omega 3. i take 8,000 - 12,000 iu daily. I do this because of all the stress in my life and i also get tested for b12 iron selenium, vitamin d3 from my family doctor (G/P). My numbers are spot on. I am inflammed (feet are swollen) water retention or insulin resistance. Although i have not been eating correctly. Just starting to get back on a healthy diet once again. i drink beet and eat spinach/ boiflavanoids to widen / strengthen arteries / (endothelial system).

I was Curious enough and Lab Measured her Serum Level of Vitamin D 3 :
It was North of 575 and her Renal Function, LFTs
All normal : this Case proves that she has No Toxicity nor any Side Effects from High Doses of vitamin D 3!!!

I agree. His recommendations are wrapped in a lot of words. Took me a while to see that I am taking a combined pill with the D amount he recommends but four times as much K2. My doc chose this pill and it is expensive. More D not good, but how about 5 times as much K2? Nothing said about that. This is being prescribed because of dysbiosis and fat malabsorption, which will affect the fat soluble vitamins. Maybe that changes the rules? But this one says it is wrapped in fat, and I can see a real difference from the cheaper ones, not fat wrapped.

The correct dosage of D3 depends on whether you are Vitamin D resistant (VDR) or not. Although clinically there exists resistance to the absorption of Vitamin D at the cellular level in people that have VDR there is still no medically defined process that brings this about or is at present medically recognised as bringing this about. However it is readily accepted that, as Dr Brewer has pointed out, that being over weight and having a poor diet can initiate this VDR condition. Also as people age they become more susceptible to becoming VDR. The dosages that Dr Brewer refers to are quite adequate if you are "normal" and do not already suffer from VDR. Unfortunately a normal blood test where the Vitamin D levels in the blood are measured are simply misleading or only give a rough guide to whether you are VDR. This is because the Vit D level measured in the blood only measures the "inactive" form of Vitamin D. At the cellular level it is the active form of Vitamin D that is the most important. The only way to measure the correct dosage that a person's needs is to measure the dosage given by tablet form and then to measure by a blood test the level of Parathyroid Hormone (PTH) that is present in the blood stream. The PTH level is inversely proportional to the absorption of the active form of Vit D at the cellular level. This is the basis of the Dr Coimbra Protocol and practitioners of the Coimbra Protocol use this technique to treat and put into remission diseases such as MS, Auto Immune Hepatitis, Psoriasis and other auto immune diseases by using very high dosages of Vit D such as 16000, 20000 IU and higher daily which would be detrimental, as Dr Brewer points out, if you didn't suffer from these diseases. There are many papers on VDR but it is still not clinically recognised in the "West" as the treatment is effectively so cheap and there is no money in it for Pharma companies. Research has now shown that people with low Vit D levels or in the worse case VDR would have been protected effectively against Covid with Vit D supplementation and could have avoided bad vaccine side effects!!!

When wresting was over, i would chug milk, like a half gallon at a time. I hardly drink milk these days and if i dont take my calcium supplement, i get the same calcium thirst. I feel like this doesnt happen as much to other people, the calcium thirst. Anyway, i hope my arteries are ok. Guess il find out in 40 more years lol. This is a great video and he’s convinced me that the standard dosage doesn’t have enough vitamin K2.
Well, maybe instead of getting vitamin D3 and vitamin K two separately you could find a 5000 international unit D3 that had a lot of K2 in it.
I found one that has 600 µg of K2 and MK four is 500 µg and MK seven is 100 µg so without going down the bunny hole as I like to hear him say this one has a diaper load of vitamin K2 .
I also would like some clarification on why 10,000 a day it would be too much if a person is just under 50 in terms of nanograms / ml(?).
Anyway I got it measured. It’s not 50. It’s just a little below.
Now what happens if I also have a high coronary artery calcium score, Dr. Brewer you just touched on it as being potentially a problem That either the K2 or the D3 can make the coronary artery calcification worse and you didn’t explain it and I’m not sure where to where to get the answer. I’m not talking 100. I’m talking. I have a CAC score in the thousands.
I’m not asking you to give me medical advice I’m asking you to help me understand what I have to be able to explain in terms of nuances if I can’t find a primary care doctor nearby so I can actually back up the claims. I’ll go to the studies if needed, but how do I ballot all that if my coronary artery calcium score already sucks and it has doubled over the last five years And I still can’t find the source of inflammation but that’s probably the bottom line.
I did take a small dose statin that you recommended the 1 mg thing that you had in one of your earlier videos.
My total lipids are only 180 so I wonder what the hell is going on!
I had a cone BM x-ray from a few years ago and it does show a few pockets where trouble might exist yet my dentist said he doesn’t think there is the source of inflammation. It might be stress. I just had a slightly high CRP level in my last blood work and my doctor For didn’t ask for an A1c which I would’ve preferred.
I also asked for a iron panel with ferret and screening and he said yeah here’s your iron level. It’s OK but they didn’t do the ferritin screening. I’m going then what the hell are we paying them for?
I’m trying not to ramble, but I want you and other people to know as much as your advice is good sometimes the devils are in the details and the best way to thread. The needle isn’t very obvious to me at least.
Maybe for other people it is
Anyway anything you’d like to comment would be appreciated.

    Richard

One of the papers you listed had a case study of a military patient with acute kidney disease, which the doctors blamed on too much Vitamin D. However, the man did not have problems until he had taken 648 mg's of aspirin and 400 mg's of ibuprofen daily for a week. How did they determine the AKD was caused by the Vitamin D instead of the aspirin/ibuprofen combo? We do know aspirin and ibuprofen can cause AKD, especially at known toxic levels. So why ignore those dangers and blame D? It's studies like these that obviously show bias in the research community, which we have learned over the past three years can be outright lies.

I’ve noticed some effects after supplementing with high doses of Vitamin K2. It appears that K2 may compete with magnesium absorption, potentially depleting magnesium reserves. This interaction seems to be part of how K2 operates in the body and may cause palpitations.

Thanks for the info. That must be why they advise taking magnesium alongside K2 and D3.

Better check endocrine system - parathyroid gland , thyroid gland, adrenal glands. If calcium already high in the blood stream, taking none stop huge doses of vit D can get more calcification.

So the issue is not taking K2 and D3 together per se - it's taking together with that particular product because to get enough K2 you have to take 4 pills, which equates to 20,000 iu D3? What abut taking 5000 iu D3 together with 400mcg K2 in seperate pills?

I take 300 mcg MK-7 (MenaQ7 all-trans) with dinner. I was told to take K2 & D3 at different times of day because they compete for the same blood absorption receptors. Do you agree with that? Do you think I'm taking the right doses to make a difference with my arterial calcification & pre-diabetes?

Very helpful. 4,000 IU of D3 brought me from deficient to at the lower end of normal. I may add 1,000. I take 200 of K2 (not the same pill but taken at te same time). I took 400 while also on an anti-coagulant and had a bout of intestinal bleeding. Maybe coincidental (I understand K1 vs. K2). I think I will try upping to 400. I'm no longer on the anti-coagulant.

Good video! I know you didn't want to get into mk4 and mk7, but we also need to look for a trans form of mk7 for the k2 supplement. It's what is found in nature and is the most bioavailable to us.

Well mentioned. I buy the Solgar K2 MK-7 and it doesn't state in the ingredients which isomer of menaquinone-7 is in there. I wrote to the company and received a response stating that the MK-7 was of the "trans" form.

I suggest to mantain a good diet and avoid the molecular convergence. Do not repeat the same nutrients group in the meals. For example: A plate with cow meat and potatoes do not make molecular convergence, because the meat belongs to Proteins group and potatoes belong to the carbohidrates group. If you repeat groups, several shots of insuline are produced followed by infammation. With that recommendation, there will be not either inflammation nor chronic disease too.

I took a low dose of k2 and had occasional palpitations but i didn’t know it was the k2 and then i upped my dose to high dose k2 and got atrial fibrillation and had to have my heart stopped and started again. Didn’t know it was the k2 but i stopped taking all my supplements after, but as soon as I introduced back in i had another a fibb event. Got onto a forum and lots and people had had this happen to them. A friend of mine had a fibb all of a sudden come on and i asked him what supplements he was taking and hed just started high dose of k2. So it worth keeping an eye on yourself. One of the guys on the forum said about 15 % of people will get a fibb from high dose k2

To address calcified arteries, I incorporate a daily regimen of vitamin K2 and D3 supplements. I take 100-200 mcg of vitamin K2 (MK-7 form) along with 2000-4000 IU of vitamin D3. This combination helps direct calcium to bones and teeth while potentially reducing arterial calcification. I also focus on a diet rich in K2 sources like natto, grass-fed dairy, and fermented foods. Regular exercise, particularly weight-bearing activities, complements this approach. I monitor my vitamin D levels through blood tests and consult with my healthcare provider to ensure proper dosage and to avoid potential interactions with medications. This strategy is part of a broader heart-healthy lifestyle that includes a balanced diet and stress management.
