Is there any truth that bacteria in the pancreas leads to type 2 diabetes?
Dr. Sten, please look at this video, the person is saying "Keto Diet Causes Insulin Resistance" .. I've been following you for a year and was shocked to hear that guy.. Please comment on that video please.
Thank you!
Both my parents smoked, and after their retirement they didn't move much. They had a daily slice of cake and a cookie or two with their evening coffee. My mother had high blood pressure and died of cancer at the age of 69. My father had high blood pressure and died of cancer at the age of 74.
I have never smoked, I have a dog that keeps me moving, I follow the LCHF life style concept, I am 82 and counting :)
Thank you for keeping my motivation up and running, Dr. Stenberg.
Keep moving, that is a key, that is why I have 6 dogs and five goats and a house with three levels. Keep your lifestyle and aim for a century in great health.
@@michelestellar7725 The 6 dogs would probably be sufficient, the five goats are probably unnecessary, just my 2 cents.
Great job sir, keep doing your thing!
I have chronic low blood pressure. The doc's only advice is to have some salt.

But I got a new caring doctor with a cool voice his name is Dr sten Ekberg I get to see him each week and I be waiting for him like black Friday shopping line.....Thanks for giving me my life back
Most of them gave up explaning people to change their life.. amd they gave up and became a machine in the weel.

Very well said!
So many people don’t realize how easily our electrolytes can get imbalanced and lead to episodes of rapid or irregular heart beats and increase in BP, the doctors will just put you on BP and beta blocker meds for life. I had a single episode of what I was able to determine was low potassium following a week of water fasting which got me out of whack for a couple days. My doctor’s response was pills for life. Instead, I started a regime of magnesium and potassium and haven’t had a single issue since. I eat salt to taste. Btw, if you are over 65 they assume you should be on a handful of meds a day. I reject that.
I am in the same boat, I haven't filled the prescription yet. What Magnesium and Potassium regime did you use? TY
All I heard from doctors when my blood pressure went up was to quit eating salt..so for years i lowered my salt intake and my BP was still high. I found your channel, stopped eating the sugar (sugar as well as what turns to sugar) and voila, down went my bp to normal. Imagine that??!!!

120/90 used to be the goal and perfect BP and now perfect is considered lower.
They keep lowering the goal to the point that everyone will need meds to maintain the “perfect pressure” on paper..
The same with LDL...😂😂😂
This is true...
Well they based it on the average person but the average person is not in good health in the us
they do the same with LDL and also BMI. Seing abs on a girl is not an healthy sign. Being a skinny fat for a men is not an healthy sign even if the BMI is "perfect" according to the doctors. Low fat pourcentage athletes are not healthy, they are just destroying their body in different way. Healthy men are in the 15-25% fat range and women in the 25-35%.
@@jeanmartin963 citation needed for your fat percentage claims.
In 2021 I had a very bad reaction to a very small dose of Hydrocodone.. threw up 4 days straight, acid burned my esophagus and stomach.. this put me in the hospital for 5 days. Almost total potassium deletion (what i was told). Ever since then my blood pressure has been crazy/erratic. Keep telling doctors that somethings wrong. They just tell me, "This is you're New Normal". Many things have happen between then and now. Many doctors, tons of tests, nothing nutritional related. No real history or concern. Now I'm doing my own research watching, listening and digesting what I can read or watch. I'm now 71, tired and glad I found you. Have a new doctor I'm about to fire. Have been through so many. Depressing
Honestly, I just love you. You are so descriptive and informative. I couldn't get a doctor that I paid for to tell me the information that is so needed for all us laymen who don't understand the tactics of good health. THANK YOU. ❤

You changed my life! From 72kg to 60kg in 3 months from following your advice. High blood pressure gone. Thank you
My father struggled with blood pressure, gained weight, was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes then had 2 strokes at 45 years old and passed away. I am now 49 and I constantly worry about this because I have had high blood pressure since I was 18. I walk and run daily plus try to eat as clean as possible to combat it. If I eat 50 or less grams of carbs a day my blood pressure stays normal.
What does normal range mean for you?
@@hamida.1054 I can keep it around 120/70 when I keep my carbs low. I took meds to control it for years when I didn’t know that the heart healthy diet the doctors were telling me to eat were wrong. I don’t take meds anymore but If I fall off the wagon and start eating dumb things it jumps up to around 150/110.
I checked my blood pressure at home and it’s okay but when I go to the Dr. it’s always high told me to take medication but I refuse told her my BP goes up when I am upset or nervous.Thank you Dr.Ekberg for sharing this information for Blood Pressure I do appreciated!!!
The last time the doctor measured my BP it was high and I said it's not like that at home. He said make a chart and show me. So that's what I am doing, twice a day every second day.
You could try progressive relaxation for your nervousness.
Just a caveat: the same happened to me, BP at home normal, at MDs office high. Kept a log, showed it to MD. Discovered that at home I always took BP on right arm, atMD office always on left arm. Turned out that I have subclavian artery stenosis on one side. I discovered it on my own because MD never questioned it.
Same thing with me!
It called white coast syndrome. Ask your medical staff to retake your blood pressure again. My husband has the same problem and his doctor doesn’t push to medicate him.
I did the the doctor recommended 500mg sodium diet, 3 meals a day for 9 years. 115/65 190lbs.
Then switched to a strict high quality keto diet 2 meals per day. 115/65 165lbs.
Huge improvement on how I feel, look and energy level.
I’ve started questioning everything, especially government health advice! After reading "Health and Beauty Mastery" by Julian Bannett, I completely changed my habits. This book reveals so many shocking truths about the health industry!
I got it, truly a good book

He is brilliant, and a gem of a person to anyone with common sense about how to improve their health in a sustained way. I just love learning from his simple to understand videos. I respect this man immensely. 🤷🤷🤷
He's one and only!
I agree. But I contacted his chiropractic practice to try to become a patient and couldn’t get anyone to call me back to answer questions.

I have watched so many Videos on blood pressure, and this video should be a mandatory watch for anyone starting their journey. This is the first video that mentions postural issues (which I have), which I’ve always suspected is causing my BP issues. However is also explains the diuresis system which could also be an issue for me.. maybe dehydration from working a high demand job in the heat? Either way, this video was much more eye opening than so many, and I’m appreciative of the information!
Dr. Ekberg is a huge, rich resource on UA-cam. There are so many flakes out there trying to push agenda's for their own personal benefit, that it's very refreshing to have a channel one can turn to for straight-up, honest and factual information. Thank you 😊😊

Healthy 54F w/ normal BP until I receive the JJ Covid vaccine. Within 4 weeks post I lost consciousness and taken to the ER with crisis stage in 200’s. It took 2 yrs for my automatic system to regulate back to normal. Now I have essential hypertension on my medical record but not that it was caused by the Covid vaccine. Angers me beyond comprehension. Cardiologist said to eat less salt and he’d double up on medication. Glad I said no to both. I’ve given up on USA group health doctors.
My father's blood pressure was ruined too after he took his dose of poison. He has been sick for three years now. My sister in law, who was 37, died after hers, leaving my nieces with no mother.
Maybe look at vitamin B1 and magnesium. Vaccines tend to highlight a B1 deficiency. Dr. Berg and Dr. Osborne have informative videos about B1 deficiency. Heal on!
So sad. So corrupt. No accountable for the corrupt medical and big pharma crooks. Shame on them is an under statement. A license to extort the system. Too many believed the big lie. why ? Cause people will generally believe a bigger lie than a small one. @@traditionalgirl5585
After 2 pfizer shots in 2021, my BP went up and also really bad tinnitus.
How are you sure it was not the Covid virus, are you just a jackass science denier? Real studies found people with the vaccine were much less likely to go to the hospital or die. Luckily people just said no to idiots for the Smallpox and Measles vaccines, including General Washington during the Revolutionary War.
Sten Ekberg has made correct blood pressure such an easy thing. I was moderately high for many years. After a single year of eating low carbohydrates twice a day my last physical had me at 110/79.
Great video. I knew mine was rising. I knew my job, life events, personal events, and no time for self-care. I was headed toward metabolic diseases. My body feels it. Although its hard to control/fix everything else in life. I am self-aware. Big changes are coming to manage my stress and start self-care. Its not a flip of a switch. Its going to be a new lifestyle I have to teach myself. But have fun with it.
Thank you Sten for another OUTSTANDING video.

I don't trust the medical system😢
I agree. Never trust the medical system. They no nothing but pills. This Dr knows what he's talking about. Very rare.👍
First off, I am a hyper responder. High blood pressure my whole life . Stroke at 42, BP 230/200. If I eat Whole Foods it slowly goes down. If all I eat are whole foods , eventually I don’t have highHBP. Eat whole foods , processed foods are terrible for you, and not just BP
Better than anything my doctor has ever said. Such clarity and a pragmatic approach to dealing with it. I just can't thank this person enough😊😊😊
Dr Eckburg, I was diagnosed with aortic insufficiency when I was in my late 20s, and due to leaking bicuspid valve, CKD due to systemic lupus which resulted in kidney failure.
I inherited both from my father’s side of my family. Two reasons people Do need to see a doctor.
My favorite health channel…hands down 💪🏾
Hi Dr. Ekberg. 👋 Im so happy to see you back! When I visit my dentist or doctor, my blood pressure goes up. I asked them to check it after my visit. I told them I experienced some amount of anxiety, especially like you mentioned. They actually stress you out, waiting, asking unnecessary questions, etc.etc. overall when its checked after the visit its normal. They immediately talk about medication.
This is one of the most dangerous health video around. Never experienced that many commercials interrupting my viewing of this essential health advice
@drekberg this is yet another masterclass video from you. The explanations were so clear. It will help several people and save millions if they listen. Other authorities (RC and KB) on UA-cam have simply been saying there's no problem with salt but have been unable to explain it. They share the common message with you but they have been unable to explain this assertion.
How true! My doctor told me 3 years ago that I would always be a diabetic for the rest of my life, and that there is nothing I cold do about it. And if I followed through on everything he and other doctors told me to do, I'm sure that would be true. In fact, I'm sure I wouldn't even be alive today. End of story: I am no longer diabetic, and haven't been for over 2 years.
That’s awesome! These days we have to take our health into our own hands and do our own research, etc. how did you reverse your diabetes?
Do you feel better now? I hope you get well soon
What did you do?
How did you get red of your diabet?
What is the effect of aging on BP? It seems very unlikely that at 75 I should have the same BP as in my twenties. When there are no reasons like metabolic syndrome, then maybe the BP should naturally be higher and it may be a bad idea to try to push it down.

Hi I work at a Resort Hotel in ski town Vermont. When appropriate I tell many guests & coworkers about your channel ❤
This is the best explanation ive heard about BP. I have had hypertension for 20 years and was told to avoid salt. Ive been keto/carnivore for 6 months and my BP is down to stage one from crisis. Ive halved my tablet and all good.
I have learn so many things thanks for your videos! Awesome content
Thank you @TaneLonely. I really appreciate your feedback and so glad that you liked it. The purpose of my channel is to explain the principles and mechanisms of health in such a way that you start gaining an understanding and respect for the miracle that is the human body. I spend so much time on it because when we get "the why" and start owning the mechanisms we become empowered for life . Comments like yours makes it all worthwhile. 😄
What an amazing episode, filled with invaluable information!
I started experiencing very light headaches, which lasted about 4-5 days, before I decided to check my blood pressure. I had experienced lower/blurred vision at times that also was lingering for some time. This had never happened to me before so it put me on alert. My pressure read 177/103. I decided to go to the hospital, just in case. The test there included blood test, urine test, MRI and EKG. The next day, the doctor diagnosed me with hypertension and put me on the meds for the long term… He also told me my cholesterol was high.
Now, I have never taken a single pill in my life, save for a bit of vitamin C and cold medicine, when I get sick. I don’t drink alcohol, I don’t smoke and I have been an athlete my whole life (I am 46), until four and a half years ago, when I started a business, unrelated to sports and that occupies all my time so I do not exercise on a regular basis any longer. My weight is not what it used to be in college anymore, but I am not really that big at all… I know what I did wrong though - I have been consuming too much soda and sweet drinks. I also like my food salty.
I was told to stop eating red meat (I almost never eat beef, but I do eat pork), to reduce salt intake and to start exercising regularly again.
So, I completely quit consuming salt and red meat. I also quit consuming sugar, with the exception of a couple of pieces of fruit per day (mostly berries). I quit any canned food, chips, candy, pastries, etc. The only bread I am eating now is full grain dark bread. I eat mostly leafy vegetables, chicken, fish and raw nuts. I only drink water and unsweetened green tea.
I will keep doing that until my pressure stabilizes and then I will try to wean myself off the pills, which have side effects, such as, constipation, loss of sight and even promote greater chance of contracting skin cancer…
Thank you so much for this informative video and the restored hope you gave me!
It is soooo true! My mom has had hypertension all her life and a long list of other metabolic issues. I should have it too but no. I have normal blood pressure and I’m approaching menopause. I work out, eat natural and try to avoid stress, which are the 3 musts for a healthy life. I take no pills. Not even Advil or aspirin
I was on so many blood pressure meds from my 20s til 34. Blood pressure was around that stage 2 levels. Now I'm at Pre-HT levels and only on half dose of metoprolol tartrate (mostly for my heart arrythmia). I was also close to 400 pounds back when I was first diagnosed with both high blood pressure and type 2 diabetes at 20 and 21. I'm down to 235 pounds today! Still got plenty more to go and hoping it gets even better as I get down to a healthier weight.
I was 440 and had critical BP, no side effects whatsoever. But I started to worried.
Started taking meds, but I dont want to do it for rest of my life.
Lost 80 pounds now (counting calories - caloric deficit).
MY enlightment came when I did my blood check of INSULIN. it was 27! My blood sugar was always below 100. so no problem with that. But Insulin was "the big elephant in the room" :). Since docs never advised me that test. I was really upset. But I knew now what cause it. My HOME-IR was 6.0... I will check again after new year. Keep up with diet. Maybe check your insulin? anyways, good luck!
Congrats on losing weight
When I finally learned what Essential HTN (hypertension) is... It means that "essentially" they don't know what causes it, but thankfully they have a bunch of pills to correct it. Imagine taking your car in to the dealer to get it fixed because the "check engine light" is on and they use a shotgun approach to "fix" your car. In some ways, I think my car would fair better with that approach than would be my chances with those medications.

Me too. Maddening isn’t it.
I just spent 3 days in the hospital because his salt was so low he needed an IV drip for 3 days until it came back in line. It was a compounded problem. He was on Ozempic for Type 2 Diabetes, he had severe zero appetite. He ate almost no food ,only " bite s" for a month. Plus one of his bp meds specifically targets salt. He was becoming unclear in the head,he's had GI issues from the Ozempic. It takes a long time for that to get out of the body it seems. He's on a med to help his appetite and a med for his GI issues. By yesterday he was in so much better shape.
Finally a smart doctor who understands the body. Thanks for the video.

I have always been very slim, even too thin as a child and into my forties but had my appendix taken out when I was 7. The doctors discovered I had high blood pressure. Nothing was done (this was in the sixties). At 15 I had another surgery and still had high blood pressure that they could not find out why. I went through intense checks but they did not find the reason. I have gone through intense medical checks through the years but no reason has been found (my father had high blood pressure all his life, not a smoker and always slim and fit) My blood pressure has always been around 110/150 to 160. I have been on betablockers for 40 years now but it is still a bit high (90/120-130) I do not smoke, I do work out, fast from time to time, eat healthy home cooked food and live a healthy happy life. I have also had chronic constipation since childhood (I am 70 now).
Awesome info as always. Have been following you for years. After following you I have been on a ketogenic life style for the last 10 months and I was off the insulin in the first month. I have gone from a morning glucose reading of 148 to 72. I feel way better and have way more energy to do what I like doing: Hiking in the wilderness and mountains with lots of energy. Thanks
early 70's had to eliminate alcohol - late 70's had to eliminate sugar - that's all it took for my high BP
Don't ignore YOUR BLOOD PRESSURE I spent years trying to find out why and was fobbed off by the medical profession with tablets, by the time I found out it was too late as I had end stage renal failure. I only wish this vlog was available 25 years ago, today I'm only alive because of a kidney transplant.
Thank you. Do you have to take anti rejection meds too?

I had high blood pressure when i was sick with covid. 6 months of coughing and sounding like a dying accordion day and night... Thankful it came back to normal last time i went in.
Thank you Sensei Lee for the Masterclass. Gretting from Caracas/Venezuela
Since starting a Keto lifestyle my BP has gone from high to normal.
Doctor, I ask you to make a video about dialysis patients. ❤️❤️❤️
I will show it to my grandmother, who is 83 years old. She doesn't drink or smoke, and she had breast cancer surgery. She has already had 4 strokes, thank God. After dialysis, her blood pressure is around 200. She always goes to her summer house with bags weighing 15 kilograms right after dialysis, and she eats fatty food there at night (she explains it by saying that she doesn't want to eat during the day, snacks in the evening, and for some reason has an active phase at night for consuming unhealthy fatty food).
(I'm sure this is wrong.)
You explain things very well!
I would love to show her your video with recommendations for dialysis patients!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Please like this comment so the doctor notices it.
Thank you very much for this useful information Dr. Ekberg!
I had pre hypertension by age 18. Stage 2 hypertension by age 40. Arterial blood pressure is regulated by the kidneys. Over the years, several doctors blamed lifestyle, and/or my weight. They all wanted to medicate, but I couldn’t afford health insurance, or BP meds. Turns out, I had Sotos Syndrome all along, which frequently comes with kidney abnormalities, and high blood pressure in younger children. Doctors failed me. (I recorded my BP every day for a month, last year, sys161/dia106/pls52. Early 40’s)
Could you do a presentation on orthostatic hypotension and POTS? I’m 81 years old and started suffering from both about 3 years ago. They really turned my life upside down. Some days, can’t do the dishes or go to the store without loading up on salt, or else I’ll hit the floor.😢 Salt has become my best friend. (My bp averages 120/72 when I’m sitting around. When I stand it goes down and down). Would appreciate hearing what you have to say about these conditions. My daughter has both of them, and so has one of my granddaughters.
(I’m devastated about that.)
None of us are obese.
Thank you Doctor Ekberg! I'm living this exact situation right now!
Great class Dr. Ekberg. I’ll be sharing for sure!
as always very informative video . thanks a lot dear dr
Sten, I absolutely love how you make things so clear. You are simply the best and most knowledgeable. Thanks for all your vids.❤️❤️

Thank you @kaloyandimitrov5459. I appreciate your feedback. Also make sure you check out my video library. There are over 500 videos organized by topic and play list. Just do a search for kidney. 😄 ua-cam.com/channels/Ie2pR6PE0dae9BunJ38F7w.html
Thank you very much for the Czech subtitles and the Czech dubbing 🙂👍
Thanks Doctor, have a nice weekend.
Hi Doc
What a great video. One of your longest but you covered so much.
I noticed homocysteine got a mention. Is that worth a video sometime?
Take care & Thanks
Thank You @garryrowland. I have mentioned it in videos before, but I will probably do a dedicated video soon 😄
I get high BP just thinking about US doctors/medicine. What a SCAM.
In my late 30's I was diagnosed with severe to crisis level blood pressure. After a year on carnivore and not worrying about salt, I've lost 70 lb and stopped taking BP medication and, my blood pressure is perfect. I feel the best I have in years at almost 60 yrs old. Not sure if this is going to help me live longer but it's definitely making me live better.
Over a year ago, my BP was at 180/100 and thankfully with not listening to any Doctor, now, my BP is normal
So what did you do to lower it?
Me encantó su video Doctor, he aprendido mucho. Muchas gracias! Abrazo desde Buenos Aires-Argentina!
I just figured out 3 months ago "runs in the family" means bad eating habits not a disease!
When I go for doctor's appointment, I make them leave me in the exam room with light off, wait at least 8 minutes, and do not talk to me until you have actually measured my pressure. My pressure went way down instead of being high every time I went to the doctor. No one wanted to acknowledge that I was right. Ugh!
Thank you for your knowledge.
I had to take my mother to hospital the other day because her pulse rate was over 160.
Whilst in the hospital they gave her three separate injections.
I don't know what they were the first one made her a bit like headed, the second one affected a breathing as she has ocpd.
The third one I watched my mother die and come back again.
Like the first two her heartbeat did not change.
But in herself she felt fine as if nothing was wrong with her.
She's had it for 4 days without telling anybody.
We even went out one day and I could never tell that her heart was beating over 160.
Eventually they gave a beta blockers.
This brought it back, and they did not know what caused it or why.
She's 86 years old and as fit as she can be at the age.
She still drives and does everything for herself.
What was it that they gave her and what caused that?
Get a 24 hour bp monitor. Gold standard, some medical centers have them
Thank you Dr Ekberg for this honest explanation. 💚
DOTTORE GRAZIE PER IL VOSTRO IMPEGNO!!!!!SALUTE TANTA❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Excellent video ✅
