My experience: I had afib after high intensity exercise and I kept getting it, considered ablation, then tried taurine (6gm), L-Arginine, plus absolutely no coffee and no alcohol. Plus a good diet, whole foods. Plus and this is key: deep breathing during the day. I believe we get daytime apneas and don't know it, and we have to train our breathing process to go slower and deeper. I breathe and hold for 5 seconds, then exhale 8 seconds. I incorporated all these and I am afib free. The deep breathing really helps. Just my experience.
How many times a day do you do the breathing? I'm just now starting but it's only when I ride my exercise bike and I also hum to produce nitric oxide😂 5 times a day? I'm going to need to make it a habit
@@Betsy.Ross76 I try to have a breathing session for 5 minutes a day, inhaling through nostrils, and breathing out forcefully through pursed lips, but during the day, I try to stop and take some deep breaths with long exhalations.
Deep breathing is amazing. I had an irregular heart beat and my holistic doctor checked me for many deficiencies . She told me I was very low on sodium and had low magnesium. Being African American I was avoiding sodium because we're told it raises your blood pressure, but ironically my BP actually went down and my energy went up once I increased my salt intake. My heart beats normally now.
Great video! I will keep wearing my Fitbit, eating Carnivore, and walking at least 15,000 steps a day as long as I can! Im a healthy non medicated 67 year old great grandmother! Keep the info coming!
Eating too much carbs/sugary products for a long period of time , it causes inflammation of the heart, leading to arterial fib, .Reduce weight, no carbs no sugar and start doing fasting, and drink vege juices , fixed my arterial Fib. Imbalance in blood electrolyte , is also a cause of irregular heart beat
My Dad is 75, heavy drinker his whole life, he's climbed the AF ladder. Diagnosed 10 years ago when they then realized he needed an artificial mitral valve. He has been through multiple ablations and a recent cardioversion. I convinced him to do a 72 hr water only fast. He instantly lost 20 pounds and has kept it off. He seems to be doing and feeling a lot better.
@southseasglowspraytanning he dropped 20 pounds in only 72 hours, but has gained about half of that back in 2 months. Now, he is interested and actually a believer in intermittent fasting.
You said in this video you don't take asprin, but in another video about cleaning arteries and reversing atherosclerosis, you said you took an asprin every day?? Maybe i shouldn't watch all your videos.😊
@@billclyde7805 he said he took aspirin before--but when he found out about the afib he knew the aspirin wasn’t enough to cut it. That is how he ended up on the blood thinner
My husband has AFIB found by wearing his new fit-bit watch. Cardiologist thought we were crazy and a watch could not diagnose AFIB. He spend 11 days in hospital and they didn't find it but a watch did. He is triggered by his vagal nerve and taking probiotics, exercising and not eating large meals, quitting smoking and drinking and he is much better. Doesn't take any blood thinners. Takes fish oil, co-q10 and vitamin E daily along with other vitamins like D and Zinc etc. So far so good.
When temps cooled down last year I doubles up on my Cayenne pepper, basically to keep my hands/feet warm in winter. Side effect was my BP dropped to approx 95/60, started getting dizzy and if I stood up to quickly would get light headed. My BP was to low! Backed off to normal on Cayenne pepper and BP came back to 110/94. Not bad for an old guy of 76!
2014 - I know I was sick. No energy. January: Complete cardio workup-normal. June: Gastroenterologist diagnosis Afib. Nov: Ablation. For me it was life changing.
I had a drinking problem, about 25 pounds overweight, an inherited risk of heart problems and sleep apnea problem. Lost twenty pounds and I don’t even look at alcohol anymore. But, I have to say this video is fantastic. Very informative.
I also have atrial fibrillation. I lost a truckload of weight, but right now I am in weight gain mode. Right now I am trying to get back into a ketotic state. My blood pressure has dropped and I have been able to cut back on my blood pressure meds. But I am glad to hear that your weight loss put your Afib in remission. Maybe I can put mine in remission too, but I have had Afib for 15 years.
At 29:08 Natto doesn't stop the AF, but it does get rid of the blood clots. Just because that study says it doesn't, doesn't mean that it is fact. There are other studies that says it does. I was on Apixaban for 3 1/2 years and my strokes kept getting worse. So I Quit big pharma and went on high dosage of Nattkinase/12,000 fu/once a day on empty stomach and in 7 days the strokes stopped. I haven't had one now in 8 months and have full recovery. I also have had AF all my life, I'm 68 now.
I'm pretty sure I've had it most of my life, especially when hung over. I stopped drinking alcohol and smoking (cigars), and lost 90 lbs. In the meantime, I had an ablation. I'm on all the usual meds, no return of afib.
@@halitozan371 I don't know if Nattokinase can get through the blood brain barrier. But I had a clot that was causing only blindness so it had to cross the barrier. My reasoning if the clot was blocking anything else it would have caused a stroke. I would try it, you have nothing to lose but to gain and if you have other clots it'll help get rid of them. Remember though it is a blood thinner, so you have to adjust the amount that you take with Natto. I would Google ( PubMed ) and ask about it as they have a wealth of information.

A thumb rule: once a fibber, always a fibber. Cannot change our age, but we can aggressively improve our life style and use appropriate medications. Even though they can no longer pick up a-fib in me, I remain on apixaban as I have seen too many strokes in patients and friends. I have had no complications on apixaban, but it still makes me nervous! YET…the complications of a stroke would destroy who I am and cause a burden on my family. Thank you for your personal and clinical insights into this challenging problem and continue to make and follow the developing science.
Thank you. I don’t think of myself as having Afib any more. I had 4 or 5 quick episodes (that I could feel) about 2 months ago. That reminded me. But I never stopped taking Eliquis/Xarelto. (& so many UA-camr talk about taking 0 meds. You wonder how many have Afib. )
Thank you for this valuable information. I find that dehydration often affects my heart rhythm. Putting a pinch of Celtic sea salt on the tongue followed by a glass of water often helps to stop the palpitations. Also, eating anything containing sugar before sleeping causes afib. I find it helps to eat early in the evening and to avoid caffeine after lunchtime.
Great report, I am now 73 years old. Four years ago my annual physical EKG showed AFib. Ten EKGs over 3 years did not show AFib then it returns. For those 3 years I was on Eliquis, Two tears ago I had a loop recorder in my chest for 24/365 monitoring. I eventually found out I had AFib about 20 % of the time but did not show AFib. I had crdioversion 18 months ago and AFib returned. Then I had ablation with success but had cardiac flutter which was fixed with another ablation. I do not need Eliquis for now. The loop recorder gives me some hope to catch future issues. Good luck with all those that have heart issues. I am also on a weight loss program and visit my doctor often.
Thank you for the comprehensive and easy to understand explanation of AF. I’m 66 and have had 2 cardio versions, and a history of AF. I don’t take any medication (much to the medical peoples annoyance). The meds always give me side effects (they all do), Instead I take CoQ10, Nattokinase, Kyolic, Magnesium, Vitamin D, Omega-3, and DoTerra Copaiba oil. I keep my stress levels down ( important), stay as fit and healthy as possible without overdoing it, and try to do correct and deep breathing as often as I can. I am suspicious of “ no evidence” theories because most of these studies are carried out by institutions with financial interests heavily involved in the outcomes. I agree that lifestyle and good health practices are of vital importance
I had atrial fibrillation 5 years ago and I was perminently in afib. I was on Flecainide and I had a cardio- version, eventually an ablation which failed after a year. I started intermittent fasting working up to 19 hours a day and very slowly reducing my Flecainide. Over time my heart stayed in rhythm. I noted however that if I ate too many carbs, and especially any sugar (fruit also) within a few days it would get worse. I'm so glad to get out of atrial fibrillation it was an awful thing 😐
I had an ablation 8 years ago. No afib since. I did loose some weight and started eating low carb after and also taking Magnesium. First and foremost if considering an ablation find a great doctor with an extensive history of doing successful ablations. My aberent electrical activity was very extensive and my doctor told me after that they were not sure they ablated all that was needed. But here I am 8 years later and doing well.
My watch often says risk for A-Fib and I do feel an arrhythmia. Had a heart attack last year and ECG says complete left bundle branch block. I did not take a single prescription despite diagnosed w CAD. I took Serrapeptase and Nattokinase supplemens but it gives me headache and at one point had a TIA. I changed lifestyle. Cardiologist was surprised (and me too) that LBBB gone and stopped recommending angiogram and angioplasty. I did Keto-carnivore AND REMOVED ALL ULTRA PROCESSED foods. I up take Sardines and Mackerel for omega-3 and I drink sole water whenever I'm having arrhythmias. 12-16hrs FASTING nightly. I rarely had HBP. I found that garlic water and ginger tea w powdered cayenne pepper with lemon and himalayan to be truly helpful to lessen angina and HBP. So far I am no longer feeling and hearing my heart and aorta pounding for the past 2 months. I've not had tachycardia for the past 4 months. I CONFIRMED THAT BEEF, BUTTER, EGGS & SATURATED FATS & PORK WERE NOT INDEED HARMFUL bec these are what I eat now compared to before- lots of rice, noodles & pasta, fast foods and all sorts of high carbs.
@@m.e.p.b. enjoy your mRNA vaccinated meat- it’s been in the pork supply for over 5 yrs and now in most US commercial livestock. Our planet is a toxic cesspool. All toxins bioaccumulate up the food chain🤔☠️
I am writing this from my hospital bed after being admitted 2 days ago after passing out randomly in front of my kids and splitting my head! 48m, otherwise ‘healthy’ but of course alcohol and diet/weight I know are problems, borderline pre-diabetes and my father with afib. The diagnosis is afib for me and I’ve been researching a lot over the past day about something I knew little of just two days ago. The accuracy of information in your video in terms of medical factors aligns with everything I’ve discussed with the hospital staff. I am glad they also acknowledge that even though I’m going home on thinners and beta blockers, that diet lifestyle changes I make with my GP, will absolutely go a long way towards management of this condition. Thanks again for your great informative video.
Thank you very much, for sharing your story. It's frustrating at this piont. But as you stabilize in your new lifestyle, this will beome much easier & simpler.
I got AFib this year. Lost 20kg and started running and biking (nearly every day) which I hated and now love. For me, keeping hydrated (electrolytes and fruits like watermelon and pineapple), no coffee, high protein diet with low carb, intermittent fasting, and magnesium pill at night. Have 2 apple watches (series 7) so I can always track my heart rate and check for AFib using the ECG. So far I rarely get AFib and if so usually if Im dehydrated (such when I stupidly drink alcohol which I need to cut) or training in a high heart rate for too long. When I do get into AFib I do Valsalva breathing, followed by hands on head or lie down and put my legs in air to force blood flow back to my heart. Im still learning to live with AFib and learning alot from everyones experience
Ive had intermittent Afib for 29 months now. My wife suggested the mercury molar I had removed a year earlier might be a factor, but then I started thinking: Afib is an electrical problem and mercury is highly conductive...what about other metals? I have both an aunt and uncle that give blood quarterly because of high iron in their blood. I eat chocolate daily and some chocolate contains cadmium, another metal. So, I started eating greens, a simple chelation effort, and cut all chocolate out too and drink very little alcohol now and I havent had Afib since. (I need to get a blood iron test next.) Anyway, this video gives me hope I actually may stop Afib with lifestyle changes. I am going to delay my FARAPulse ablation I have scheduled and try any and all lifestyle changes first.
One complication that you would want to avoid if being in AF often, or consistently, is he enlargement of the left atrium. As it stretches and enlarges, it creates fibrosis...scarring...which tends to increase the risk of staying in AF or returning to it, even with drugs like metoprolol (rate control) and rhythm control (Flecainide, Sotolol, Amiodarone, propafenone, diltiazem...etc). Even more, protracted AF lasting months can lead to mitral valve prolapse due to the enlargement that results, or even to heart failure ( a poor term. Heart insufficiency is a better term with less gloom and doom implied). So, as I have stated in another comment, do go too long in AF without seeing an electrophysiologist and getting a GOOD ONE!! Critically important to do research and find the best within a day's travel.
I went through the whole progression, afib, mitral prolapse, cardiomyopathy, ejection fraction under 30%. I started with an anti arrhythmic, dofetilide, had a cardioversion. After a couple of years I recovered my ejection fraction to over 60%, reduced the mitral regurgitation significantly. Thankfully I'm in Boston and was treated by one of the world's best electrophysiologists. Still on dofetilide and apixiban, but symptom free.
In Australia Hearttbug is a 30 day cardiac monitoring solution often used on discharge from public hospitals. Much smaller than a Holter monitor. It runs through an app on your phone. The patient uploads the data each day.
WOW! Best video ever concerning Afib. It is time for me to go with it: weight loss, exercise, and a healthy diet.HE did not mention the latest research. A MUST! AVOID PROCESSED FOODS WITH ALL THE INSANE CHEMICALS
Thank you dr brewer. Great inffo. I'm 68 years in 2012 i was diagnosed with Afib.did some lifestyle changes Afib went away for like 12 years. 3 months ago came back again! I'm taking metoprolol and eliquis. The medication makes me dizzy and tired..thanks to your video I'm going with good nutritional diet and exercise .i like your comment About medication. Not the solution...thanks again...
My mother had this problem,(220b/m for 30mins an episode) while I was caring for her I gave her 2-5 ozs of wheatgrass juice/day (magnesium & chlorophyll) for 1 yr palpitations stopped she felt & looked much better. Convinced me wheatgrass worked
Dear Doctor, Sir it's a brilliant explanation on AF, I too am on Zarelto 20mg, but i have reduced my weight from 113 kg to 88 kg, Igreat feelings and now after hearing your talk on AF, i will be further reducing my weight, go vegetarian, good amount exercise and fun loving outdoor activities. thanks and God bless you
Or they diagnosed me with atrial fibrillation I had a TIA in stroke unit for two weeks eight months later I was in emergency room uncontrolled fibrillation. It was bad. I knew I was dying. My chest was about to explode. It looked like I was under a shower, the water poured from my head. It was just perspiration, cold clammy sweats for over an hour. It’s something you really wanna get under control. Change your lifestyle.
That is another good point make sure your mouth is free of any infections get rid of all your metal fillings and get rid of all your root canals. This caused the problem with my brother root canals, old root canals. They’re very hard to detect on scans because they are low level infection. Do yourself a favor find a holistic dentist that will remove them. It’s going to be expensive, but it’s worth it. You can have an implant put in later on. But get rid of all metal fillings and root canals your dentist will totally tell you the opposite Find a dentist that understands root canals cannot be left in your mouth. It’s the only medical practice that leaves dead material in your body.. They removed the nerve in the blood supply. How will there not be an infection years down the road it’s impossible not to have an infection later on I don’t care how well they’re done.
My husband is on eliquis and he has a genetic problem a-Fib amyloidosis. Currently is not diabetic but is on home hemodialysis via a central line due to bleeding via the fistula. He's had testing that verifies his coag factors are normal. After listening to your blog we are less inclined to stop eliquis and just bite the bullet with prolonged bleeding from the fistula. Therese. P.S. Your thoughts are welcome.
I've been having A-fib, likely for quite a while. Recent Echocardiograms found that I have mitral valve regurgitation with prolapse, moderate to severe. My Cardiologist has me on Apixaban 5 mg. (blood pressure was high, started just recently) and Ramipril 2 mg. I did have some workplace exposures a few years back, likely resulted in where I am now. Not much change in echo over the past year but really don't want a new mitral valve if I can stave that off. Now 76 years, with healthy diet and lifestyle. Thanks for your video, really helpful.
This video seems to cover all the bases, except at one point you mention antiarrhythmic drugs without having talked about them in any detail. Or maybe I missed it, but I was taking notes and didn't catch it. Thanks Dr Brewer!
I had a heart murmur since I was a baby. I had a stroke in my sleep a week after losing my husband to a quick death in 19 before Cvd. It was devastating, this Aug. I had a major heart attack. I need a triple bypass but I got 1 stent for right now.
Did they try curing the murmur I was born with basically a single vertical. They did the Fontan procedure in 3 operations. I was much better after the operation However after 27 years I did well However started getting heart failure and needed a heart transplant did really well for 24 years and still alive they do drugs and Ablation for erratic beats. Many herbs can also help. Sadly my Atrial Flutter Attacks were not successfully Ablatated I find bisopril seems to help when I have an attack
Sorry for your loss and health issues. 🙏 I lost my 52yr old husband last year suddenly to a previously undetected brain aneurysm. Do you mind sharing your age and more details about your journey with heart issues. I'm trying to do everything I can to change my eating/ lifestyle. 55. Damage ramped up after menopause.❤ And if you have others living in your household alert them to the new CPR guidelines. It saves lives. I thought my husband had collapsed in our room from a heart attack and within seconds I was on the phone to 911. He had no heartbeat. The operator instructed me to get him on the floor. I couldn't get him to budge and she told me to pull up all 4 corners of bottom sheet and yank. Immediately he was on the floor and I was doing chest compressions. Mouth to mouth is no longer used in cpr. Just chest compressions. The operator was on speaker phone helping me to keep rhythm. 1,2,3,4, then pause to catch your breath. Then repeat. Kneeling over the person with hand over hand and firm compressions. It was getting exhausting but the paramedics arrived approximately 20 minutes and after working on him another 20 minutes they finally got his heart beating on its own again. Sadly it was at the hospital that I learned he had a massive brain bleed and there was no brain activity. He was on life support.💔💔💔 Had it been just the cardiac arrest he would still be here. The cpr worked. Seconds count though. Started about a minute after collapse. The sooner the better. Take care 🙏
Also…endurance athletes, especially cyclists and long distance runners have higher risk. I had an ablation, but still active making lifestyle changes. AFIB tends to always get worse and more severe over time. Ablations are low risk and effective but if your lifestyle is bad, it still will return.
I had an abblation for AFib 5 years ago and it is still good. Howver, I have developed AFlutter now and getting an ablation Oct 8 and cant wait. If you have AFib or AFlutter your quality of life drops dramatically. In addition 3 months after an ablation you can get off of blood thinners. New technology allows the abblations to be done within one 1 hour and you go home the same day. I'm not in agreement with this video.
Gut health is the first step in my experience..Gut health is the first step in my experience get tested for what you’re allergic to….what types of foods make do you feel bloated? Go see a holistic doctor that can test your stool and test your blood. Eat only high-quality non-processed foods high-quality olive oil. The Mediterranean diet is working for me. I’m mountain bike five days a week and keep out of stress situations. I’ve learned to breathe correctly and meditate. A fib is caused by a number of reasons get your life in order make it a number one priority in your life. My a fib started while mountain biking at high-level group rides. Stress was a big key. Also make sure you have the proper electrolytes, magnesium potassium all these fib at a low level. Become your own advocate, starts to learn your body.. I am now off all medication. Food is my medicine exercise relieves all my stress. Everybody in my family all four siblings and my mom had a fib.I Refused it to let us take over my life. Your mind is a powerful thing. Learn to control it.
SVT/Afib pattern for over 40 years. (Started during a tennis match age 26). Had ablation 4 years ago with good results after the SVT degraded to irregular ventricle beats with atrial tachycardia. Golf has shown me it's very difficult to control your mind . At age 72 I stopped playing tennis - now golf and light exercises and walking only. Now at age 75 doing well on Med diet.
Dr. Brewer, thank you for your candid presentation based on your professional and personal experience. I consider myself an active person, not significantly overweight (6 ft tall, 214 lbs), take supplements, exercise, and had sleep apnea surgery (two deviated septum opened up and tonsils removed at the age of 48), and a pilates practitioner for the last 14 years. I am now 60 years old. Unfortunately I have had Afib four times since the age of 34 years old (with out damage to my heart). The first incident (34 years old) was diagnosed as LONE ATRIAL FIBRILLATION - STRESS INDUCED due to an absurd 80 hour work week and a boss that did not communicate and support me in a stressful work environment. I did not have another Afib incident until the age of 56 years old after taking cold medication around the clock for two weeks to find out that my sister and brother are allergic to decongestants. My cardiologist also determined that I had an allergic reaction leading to Afib. She looks at the ECGs from my hospital stay and told me in a follow up visit that I had an allergic reaction reaction causing the Afib. (I had no history of Afib for 22 years until the decongestant reaction). I recently had two more incidents of Afib (Sept 2023 and July 2023) due to mold poisoning and an Impaired Limbic System Vagus Nerve). I acquired the mold and mold poisoning (Mycotoxins) from a very toxic environment in a new apartment from Aug 16, 2023 to Sept 29, 2023. I have seen 20 to 30 medical professionals with many incorrect diagnosis. I believe all of the medical professionals are good people and they simply were not trained to deal with MOLD POISONING! As you know, our medical system does not traditionally get to the root cause of disease; they simply throw pills at symptoms. (No fault of our caring medical professionals). The system has become ineffective as a result of corporate greed tied to the pharmaceutical and insurance industries. I have been working with a medical doctor who specializes in mold poisoning and I have experienced a huge improvement in my health. I am doing well now and I’m currently taking two heart medications: (1) Eliquis (5mg 2x a day), and (2)Amiodarine (200mg 2x a day). I am now scheduled for a Cardio Ablation on 11/20/2024. I also believe in lifestyle change (healthy living) vs. surgery. The cardio ablation is a significant 4 hour procedure, not without risk as you know very well. My Question: I know you may elect not to give me medical advice over UA-cam, however, if you had my history and were in my position … what would you do? I am sure that I could lose 10 lbs., and I would rather do that vs. an invasive surgery with the potential of 50% return of Afib within the next 12 months after the procedure. I respect your education both professionally and personally. I am leaning more on the side of cancelling the Cardio Ablation surgery, while I seek input from trustworthy sources. Thank you in advance, John
Not only do we/I get free healthy advice but more important we/I learn a lot about both the root cause of heart disease and ways to heal and prevent. Having suffered from a (minor) stroke myself one year ago which fortunately I fully recovered from I am in constant search for medical knowledge ever since. Thank you for all you do Dr. Brewer!
The thing with Apixaban is it doesn't break up a blood clot if you already have one, it only stops one from forming, but doctors don't seem to know that.
My first atrial fib happened after a Covid vaccine. The second one happened 24 hours into a covid infection. The cardiac specialist did not do a swob test as having a viral infection was not even considered even thoughI offered my diagnosis. 4 months later, it has been confirmed that this was indeed a viral AF. The cardiac specialist was talking ablation in my first day in hospital.🙈 I so agree that lifestyle is the way to go. Mediterranean diet without the wine👍🏽
The common denominator to just about all diseases is SUGAR (Carbohydrates). Even Alzheimer’s risk is correlated to high amounts of sugar consumption. I have eliminated all added sugar, all carbohydrates and most fruits from my diet except for the family of berries. My triglycerides level is 35 mg/dl and HDL is 96 mg/dl (it used to be in the low 50’s all my life). And my TG/HDL ratio is 0.36. If I can do it, anybody can do it! I started about a year ago.
Love Brewer... he could be an extra in a Clint Eastward western...Have been following him and his colleagues for a while now...definitely in the top 5 of metabolic health practitioners.

Thank you very much for your video, I do appreciate your knowledge. I do have heart rhythm issues, but I noticed when I did sneeze my heart went to the regular rhythm. I had many tests done ,but no answer how it does happen, so I found a natural solution by sneezing.
I had a rbbb with a ef of 12. Now i have a defiblitar and pacemaker device forever😢. My EF is 56 now since they put the crt device. Asprin every day and feeling great. Love all this heart stuff
Dr Brewer your information on Atrial fibrillation is a life saving lecture very good review about AF in a given time frame.thank you .lots of regards and ❤ from India.
I have noticed if I don't take 3 of my Nature Made Calcium Magnesium and Zinc pills everyday I get rapid heart rate, shaking hands, and shortness of breath. I've tried more expensive versions of magnesium and I always end up coming back to this brand and dose. Hope this helps.
liked all your video, those are very informative and educational for a healthy life. Hopefully more and more people subscribe since you are a very virtuous physician ( in reality your type of mentality/ mindset is super rare nowadays )
I've been a heart patient since 13 years old, being diagnosed with AF, "runner's heart." Diet plays a huge difference here, and so does sleep, and not defying your natural Sarcadian rhythm. Go to bed early, and don't be a night owl like I was and still struggle with. Yes, the peppers/salsas help too. So does Vit C and a good multiple vitamin, and walking, endurance work, and deep breathing, and STRETCHING.
I had an ablation in 2017 after 3 years of very frequent AFIB episodes. That (luckily) solved the symptoms. When I started walking longer distances in 2021 I noticed my heartbeat becoming a bit 'restless' after a few hours. Halfway 2021 I started the very low carbohydrate diet, lost 30 pounds (155 now), and have had no restless heartbeat problems whatsoever since. The only thing my cardiologist ever mentioned regarding my blood values was 'slightly elevated LDL' that I should take up with my GP. Talk about checking for metabolic issues. Looking back I am pretty sure I was prediabetic at the time it all started.
This was a great video - thank you. I received a diagnosis of AF last night in the ED. This video has helped me navigate through al the information they gave me last night. I'll hold off on the beta-blockers until I see a specialist, but I have taken your advice and the advice of the team last night and started on blood thinners. Thanks again.
Very interesting. Lots of videos that I have watched about various health problems do say the same as you - that your metabolic health is very important.
I had an ablation. Did not go very well. The doctor nicked the pericardium. They did not notice. If my wife had not been by my bedside I would have died. About 1 hour after the procedure my wife had noticed that my blood pressure was very low and alerted the nurses and doctors. By the the time the doctors came my BP was 35/20. I was still awake. The doctor with out any pain meds put a syringe directly in to the pericardium under the guidance of a scan and drew out the blood which was preventing the heart to pump. Not fun.
I survived A Flutter. Thanks to Covid, endured the Flutter for over three months. No energy and the feeling of having a moth flying around inside my chest cavity. The procedure fixed my Aetrial Flutter. But, three years later, a three hour long fit of Flutter returned. The Ablation definitely helped. Hopefully everyone reading this is in rythm. The cardio version (paddles) helped for several months.

Dr. Could you please do a video that includes the foods and supplements and herbal teas to avoid with Apicaban? Also, Metoprolol? I currently take/use: Clobetesol ointment (steroid), Wheatgrass, Fish oil, Moringa, Vitamin D3w/K2, vitamin C, And various herbal teas (not same teas each day or every day but a few times a week). Thank you!
I wore a Holter monitor for a month and all I had to do was unsnap the monitor cables before getting in the shower and hook them back up (color coded) when I got out. I even played tennis twice a week wearing it. Most uncomfortable part was sleeping in it.
Very informative. "Look for your root cause". Just wonder how long before metabolic health is taken more seriously - it could do so much to help people improve their life quality and longevity.
I had paroxysmal, it was very scary… I had a Wolf Mini Maze procedure which included a clamp on the left atrial appendage (site of stroke formation)…that took care of it and no drugs...
Dr Andre Natalie, EP. based in Autin TX. top 3 EPs in the world. he did my ablation 10 years ago at Scrips San Diego. been afib free for 10 years. the man saved my life! lifestyle is important but when you're in persistent AFIB like I was, then you go to the best EP. there are good EPs and there are the rockstars--Natalie is the best.

Do you think there could be any link (even a weak one) between plaque in the RCA, and A-fib? Wondering about this since the RCA supplies the R atrium and the SA and AV nodes.
My brother is going to have the watchman procedure done this year 2024. I asked the cardiologist electro cardiologist if he could also have the abrasion done, his answer was no, that my brother was not a good candidate for it. With no more explanation than that, so I looked up the information and found out with a good regiment, diet exercise. He could be seen again to be reevaluated for the abrasion. Unfortunately, I will have to go to Texas to have this done because the doctors in California or at least central California are not trust worthy. I would like to know your opinion on the subject as well. Can you tell me why a candidate is not suited for such a procedure of abrasion?
Mercury mouth fillings wow that would connect with the sardines and dark fish. There's a link between consumption of dark fish like sardines and salmon and atrial fibrillation. Maybe it's the Mercury. Will MSM chileate Mercury from the body?
You can try Taurine and L-Arginine for about 30 bucks, it's worth a shot. 3000 mg Taurine, 2000 mg L-Arginine, and a serving of electrolyte powder. I drink it daily now. Practically nobody gets the rda of Potassium which is 4000 mg, the Taurine boosts the uptake. It's an easy fix if it works...
Thanks so much for this crucial information...I have been living with chronic AF for a long time... It was diagnosed 25 years ago and was cardio verted over 20 times(!) in a 6 year period... We gave up on CV and I refused ablation ... I now use diet exorcise and supplements but will now revisit blood thinners. Thanks again.
Dr Brewer, wonderful video, great info. I’d like to know your advice to people on the carnivore way of eating? It doesn’t sound healthy. I did Adkins many years ago & ended up with kidney issues. Thank you.
Most people’s bodies do well with carnivore (animal products & low -carb veg). Kidney problems usually are associated with too much protein. Do you know what happened with you?
I was on the Adkins diet years ago, that’s when very little carbs were eaten. All I remember is my osteoporosis became worse & my kidney function was down, thank goodness it was temporary. The endocrinologist did say too much protein. Is the Carnivore high protein? I’m a 66 yr old post menopausal woman that needs to lose 30 lbs. I’m concerned Carnivore doesn’t give me everything I need in nutrition & that it just seems not heart healthy, especially long term.
Dear Dr. , insulin resistance is , as you said, very important to treat. BUT , unfortunately you didn't talk about Kalium ( potassium), which plays very important role in the majority of the cardiac arrhythmias ( of non-structural origin). 99% of the k is intracellular, that why the serum measures are not quite representative for a deficiency. To keep the serum level about five (5) IS ADVISABLE. So , potassium supplentation is very important ( or just eat nutrient rich in potassium and with very little carbs. Carbs reduce the absorption of potassium and other minerals in the gut.
Great video and thank You! I am taking this path as well. Did you find your episodes became more infrequent or of a lower HR? Or did they just stop? I am finding the former is happening. Wondering about your afib journey after taking these steps. thanks

I wonder what you say about atrial tachycardia and I understood from my dog that this was not a risk for stroke or clot formation but that's been a number of years so I was curious thank you if you can reply be wonderful
Excellent information, your work is impeccable and I know it will help many people. Do you only serve people in the US? Is there any possibility of remote treatment?
The high blood pressure and sleep apnea are often caused by hyperinsulinemia or insulin resistance. See Dr. Cywes' explanation of how chronically high insulin causes atrial fibrillation Gum infections are also improved/go away when reversing insulin resistance.
AFib is a BEAST of a condition. Mine kicked off with SVT (240bpm!). Had ablation 4/3/24. Doing great so far. Just tiny runs of SVT. In the last month I’m almost pure carnivore and feel great! Stamina is back. Now, when I eat any carbs, they feel “heavy” in my gut. I feel slow/haggard. And these were what we call “healthy carbs”. There is no such thing, IMO. I could lose about 10 pounds. And it’s coming off slowly in a controlled manner. I am very grateful for my ablation. I was going into this all the time. My dog would look at me sideways and I’d start AFib. I hope those days are well past me now.
Thanks for a very informative video. I have had AF for about 8 years but only about 9 known episodes in that time. At 70 I went onto Xarelto and Flecanide (75 years old now). I also take Vitamin C as I saw a reference to a clinical trial that showed less recurrance following cardioversion when Vitamin C was given.

I'm just now starting but it's only when I ride my exercise bike and I also hum to produce nitric oxide😂
5 times a day?

I practice N. O. breathings for 5 minutes twice a day and also I do the humming during the shower too.

This is one of the most beautiful and comprehensive presentations I've seen about AF, flowing in a very organized, logical and structured way.

Congratulations! Fasting & exercise are far more helpful than people realize.
He lost 20lbs just in 72 hours or it helped him to eventually shed 20lbs?
@southseasglowspraytanning he dropped 20 pounds in only 72 hours, but has gained about half of that back in 2 months. Now, he is interested and actually a believer in intermittent fasting.

How scary to be a smoker and not realize you are in complete danger......! Of losing your health...
I also heard Vitamin E helped clotting.
Cayenne pepper needs a special video. It really worked for me. It's a miracle 👌
When temps cooled down last year I doubles up on my Cayenne pepper, basically to keep my hands/feet warm in winter.

Wow! That’s a heckova story! Thanks for sharing it.
Hello, can nattokinase reduce small vessel blockages and clots in the brain? If you have any information on this subject, please share it with me.

Thanks for sharing your story.
Thank you for the comprehensive and easy to understand explanation of AF.
I’m 66 and have had 2 cardio versions, and a history of AF.
I don’t take any medication (much to the medical peoples annoyance).
The meds always give me side effects (they all do),
Instead I take CoQ10, Nattokinase, Kyolic, Magnesium, Vitamin D, Omega-3, and DoTerra Copaiba oil.
@smokey11a1 Thank you for sharing that valuable experience and information.
Strangely, I started having a-fib right after starting keto and intermittent fasting

(I need to get a blood iron test next.)
Anyway, this video gives me hope I actually may stop Afib with lifestyle changes.
Sounds like excellent advice! I have an appointment with and Electrophysiologist in a few months time.
Good comment. 👍
A no carb diet and daily hourlong walks have almost eliminated my need for afib rhythm control meds. Lost a lot of weight!
In Australia Hearttbug is a 30 day cardiac monitoring solution often used on discharge from public hospitals. Much smaller than a Holter monitor. It runs through an app on your phone. The patient uploads the data each day.
Thanks for sharing.

He was on life support.💔💔💔
Had it been just the cardiac arrest he would still be here. The cpr worked. Seconds count though. Started about a minute after collapse. The sooner the better.
Take care 🙏
Thank you for helping the humans who want better health and telling them it is lifestyle and reversing prediabetes and obesity to do it.
Thank you in advance,
John
Not only do we/I get free healthy advice but more important we/I learn a lot about both the root cause of heart disease and ways to heal and prevent.
Having suffered from a (minor) stroke myself one year ago which fortunately I fully recovered from I am in constant search for medical knowledge ever since.
Thank you for all you do Dr. Brewer!
Great video Dr. Brewer. You are going to save many lives with info like this.
The thing with Apixaban is it doesn't break up a blood clot if you already have one, it only stops one from forming, but doctors don't seem to know that.
I am an AFib patient. I was going to the Minneapolis Heart Institute. I found eating jalapeño peppers sets my heart back into a normal rhythm.
Interesting! Thanks for sharing!
Any idea how they work to solve the problem? Vitamin C, capsaicin…?

Thank you for that, Dr.
I'll spend some time on that.
I assume you're not recommending statins as well (?)
@@nrm55 aspirin not recommended for afib. I am from hospital pharmacy but in Canada. Been discontinued for yrs.
@@jarsenault6418
I assume that statins are still being promoted instead for pharmaceutical reasons. (At least, until the next cash cow.)
@@jarsenault6418 That's what my doc said yesterday -
My first atrial fib happened after a Covid vaccine. The second one happened 24 hours into a covid infection. The cardiac specialist did not do a swob test as having a viral infection was not even considered even thoughI offered my diagnosis.
4 months later, it has been confirmed that this was indeed a viral AF. The cardiac specialist was talking ablation in my first day in hospital.🙈
I so agree that lifestyle is the way to go. Mediterranean diet without the wine👍🏽
Yep, Covid is what caused my AFIB. I had an ablation
I agree. Thank you very much!
Wow, very comprehensive. Ould help to have a list of bullet points at the summarizing all of this.
Thanks!

Thank You!
Dios lo bendiga y proteja por siempre, igual que a todos nosotros aquí oyendo y viendo al Doc.!!
Glad to help!
Very interesting. Lots of videos that I have watched about various health problems do say the same as you - that your metabolic health is very important.
Awesome message
Thank you.
It's a life-saving information. Thank you so much Dr. Brewer. I know you are helping save so many people's lives.
Not fun.
Scary indeed.
You were very lucky. Are you now on any treatment for it?
God Bless.
Thanks for sharing.
What a valuable and life-saving video - thank you!🌻

Dr. Could you please do a video that includes the foods and supplements and herbal teas to avoid with Apicaban?
Also, Metoprolol?
I currently take/use: Clobetesol ointment (steroid), Wheatgrass,

And various herbal teas (not same teas each day or every day but a few times a week).

I wore a Holter monitor for a month and all I had to do was unsnap the monitor cables before getting in the shower and hook them back up (color coded) when I got out. I even played tennis twice a week wearing it. Most uncomfortable part was sleeping in it.
Ditto for the shower and sleeping experience. I have found Magnesium Glycinate to be highly effective in controlling my A-Fib/Flutter.
Thank you doc for taking your time to teach many of us about this malady.
Very informative. "Look for your root cause". Just wonder how long before metabolic health is taken more seriously - it could do so much to help people improve their life quality and longevity.
So true! That's what we’re about!!!
Thank you for doing this video!! Very informative! I really appreciate your dedication in bringing this information to us!
I had paroxysmal, it was very scary… I had a Wolf Mini Maze procedure which included a clamp on the left atrial appendage (site of stroke formation)…that took care of it and no drugs...
I had a Wolf Mini Maze procedure last year and my Afib never went away. Now, need an ablation.
Sorry to hear that. With Randall Wolf?

What do you think about using fluoride-free toothpaste. I believe this helps with mouth health as flouride kills the good bacteria. Thank you.
Literally billions of people use flouridated toothpaste. If what you think is true were true, half the world's population would have heart problems by the time they were 16. They don't.

Gracias! La risa ayuda, pero lamento decirte que no es suficiente
Pumpkin seeds for magnesium and zinc.

what about fasting? Id be surprised if that didnt have good results.
Mercury mouth fillings wow that would connect with the sardines and dark fish. There's a link between consumption of dark fish like sardines and salmon and atrial fibrillation. Maybe it's the Mercury. Will MSM chileate Mercury from the body?
I'm 87, had high blood pressure for many years, come down with afib at 86.
Were you taking magnesium glycinate?
I've been in constant Afib for 8 years. There's no thing that can stop it. I'm on blood thinners until the end.
Try eating potato's sounds like your potassium is low. That has been my problem. Baked potatoes are the best natural sources.👍
If you take any supplement, check if it has vitamin k2, It caused my A-fib. Brgds
Try strict carnivore!
Get an ablation
I have a pro fibrillation and two years ago he did ablation. It has helped me. I suffer now with arrhythmia all the time.
Dear Dr. , insulin resistance is , as you said, very important to treat.
Kalium can be dangerous with bp pils!

WOW! You have a very smart dog! JK.
Excellent information, your work is impeccable and I know it will help many people. Do you only serve people in the US? Is there any possibility of remote treatment?
The high blood pressure and sleep apnea are often caused by hyperinsulinemia or insulin resistance. See Dr. Cywes' explanation of how chronically high insulin causes atrial fibrillation
Gum infections are also improved/go away when reversing insulin resistance.
You are right!
Thanks for sharing!
Amazing how animals can notice.
Something overlooked for contributing to a-fib is some pharmaceuticals. In my case it was a popular asthma med. Advair
